Leah POV

It had been hours since that moment when my world became attached to his. Since then all I wanted to do was find him again. He became my new purpose. My new reason for living, but no matter where I turned people kept trying to get in my way. My mother's words of comfort were appreciated and taken into heart, but as I made my way to my house I was cornered by Sam and Seth.

Flashback

My heart felt a bit lighter as I walked away from my mother. Her words did little though to relieve the flurry of emotions running through my heart. I made up my mind there that I was going to find him. First, I decided that I need to get a change of clothes for shifting just in case. I'm better then the other idiots who just rip their clothes every time that they shift. More clothes cost money, which no one in La Push has a lot of.

As I made my way into the house, I could hear Sam and Seth in deep discussion in the living room. Unfortunately, as I heard them then they clearly heard me entering. Sam stomped over to me as I neared the living room. Seth followed behind him in more of a passive demeanor. His face lite up in a smile when he saw me though. In that moment, I knew that Sam was using his alpha compulsion on my little brother. It was confirmed not a second later, when I felt a wave of compulsion fell over me. That grated my nerves.

"Where is he?" Sam demanded at the same time Seth tried to say that he is so happy for me.

"like I'd tell you," I snapped back. Another onslaught of compulsion came over me as I was forced correct my statement. "I Don't know."

"Despite him being your imprint," Sam started, 'there is a lot for him to answer to."

"But that's the thing is that he is my imprint," I chided, "that means by scared pack law that neither you or anyone else can harm him." At that he backed away from me and visibly relaxed which isn't saying much since as long as I've known him, he has always had a stick up his butt.

"I know the law," he replied looking at me, "but he is dangerous and we need to know if others like him would pose a threat to us or if any of them would come looking for him."

"Speaking of," I grinned, "how is the hot head? Wasn't too injured I hope?"

"Emily tells me that he has been unable to shift back. She theorizes that it might be because of the damage the sword dealt to him. That if he shifts back before it heals then it might cause more damage. Our only hope is if we can get ahold of him and get our answers."

"Suits him if you ask me," Seth chimed in.

"Like I said," I said baring my teeth at him, "you won't touch him." I hate it when I display canine tendencies while in human form. It's a painful reminder that this is true.

"I know that Leah," Sam stated in a raised voice, "I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you would be able to reach him and get answers. I know you hate Paul as well as me, but he is your packmate. Besides you need to find this Percy guy soon for both your sakes." With that he shouldered his way past me. Probably to find Emily. Turning back I noticed Seth smiling at me again, but this time he was also bouncing up and down. I swear that he should have the ability to shift into the energizer bunny not an oversized wolf.

"Congratulations Big sis," Seth said beaming up at me, "Now you can finally move past Sam and Leah."

"Thanks kiddo," I replied.

"I'm sure the rest of the pack is relieved as well since they won't have to hear you moping and complaining all the time."

"What," I snapped suddenly. I swear the gall of this kid.

"yeah I hear It all the time from the guys," Seth said.

"You know it is quite rude to say things like that," I replied. With that I tackled Seth onto the floor and put him in a headlock. He's belting out some heartfelt laughter the entire time.

"If only you showed this side of yourself maybe things would be better in the pack," Seth laughed

"no I wouldn't," I replied, "those numb skulls would take it as a sign that I liked them."

"Leah," Seth whispered.

"Yeah," I replied.

"you think once you and Percy get together that you and I could still be like this."

"we'll always be like this because you'll always be my younger brother. No matter what."

"well then as much as I like this," Seth changed the subject, "could you let me up. I promised Mr. Black that I would help get together a room for Rachel when she comes back in a few weeks and besides you got to find your guy." I got off of him and shoved him in his shoulder.

"jerk," I muttered. I made my way to my room and packed some clothes into my shift back. Rechecking my bag, I made my way outside to the forest line. Quickly changing out of my clothes behind the shed, I phased and started through the woods towards the only place I knew he would definitely be today. Bella's house.

Flashback over

The trees flew by me as I neared the reservations border. I could smell various scents as I ran. There were various wildlife around and I could smell the scent of oncoming rain. It always amazed me the explosion of senses that I get when I shift. Normal humans don't even know what they are missing, despite this I would do anything to go back to those times. Enough of that now, I got to find Percy and explain some things to him. The could already start to feel the imprint gnawing at my heart.

This thought process ended as I neared Bella's house. My wolf was on edge and my anger seeped in. I could smell a bloodsucker around the house. I could faintly tell that it wasn't the Cullens. Jake had mentioned that they had a slightly fruitier smell to them compared to the couple that ran through our land over the last few months. That didn't matter to me though. My mind was inconsolable because I knew that this was where Percy stayed and he might be in trouble. I pushed myself to the limit as I made my way to the house. I could feel Jake through the pack bond. He must have found out.

I made it to her house and noticed that there was a faint scent coming from the up stairs window. They weren't here. I bared my teeth in frustration. My head snapped to the side as I detected something coming at me fast. Seconds later I smelt a vampire. I got down on my haunches as I prepared to fight.

They entered the backyard. I was about to leap when I heard, 'Leah don't,' before the vampire came to a stop. It was one of the Cullens. The bronze haired one that the leave lover was fond of.

"Your breaking the treaty by being here," he said quickly but He paid me little mind as he investigated the area. I noticed Jake come out of the forest shortly after followed by another leech. Jake must have been the one who told me to stop. Begrudgingly, I assisted them in their search before they took off. I turned towards Jake. He's going to have some stuff to answer for.

Percy POV

When you are surrounded by a bunch of monsters who probably easily over power you, then your first thought should be like 'peace earthlings I come in peace,' or 'hey guys I'm sorry I stumbled into your safe space would you kindly leave the demigod alone.' When the short one name Alice appeared next to me as was about slash her with rip tide and be over with it.

"Please everyone stand down," Alice chimed, Carlisle noticeably relaxed. He had an aura of calmness and nonchalance about him anyway. The Burly male and the scarred blonde headed male relaxed a bit. The big burly one started smiling cockily as he relaxed. The scared one was visibly reading me. I could tell that he was a warrior. "you too Edward."

"thank you Alice," Carlisle thanked as he turned towards me. "I'm sorry for the caution, but we didn't know your intentions.

"what are you," I asked, 'Empousa? I have seen plenty of monsters before to recognize them." Okay so not my smartest move to be frank and provoke them oops.

"We mean you no harm," Carlisle placated as he put he hands up in front of him, "I don't know what you mean by empousa, but I assure you we don't mean to harm you."

"Vampires," Alice said simply.

"Alice," Edward whispered urgently, "what are you doing?"

"No need to be quiet about it," Alice replied normally, "he can hear us. We view ourselves as vegetarian vampires of sorts because we only feast on the blood of animals." Despite hearing this, I kept me guard up and kept monitoring the situation.

"well this is going swimmingly," I said sarcastically, "you everyday no meet a bunch of vampires that don't want to eat you.' Internally, im thinking why nothing in my life can ever be normal.

"again I'm sorry for the caution," Carlisle stated, "we hold a permanent residence nearby. Would you care to head indoors for this discussion." Yeah why not just troupe through the monsters den. It worked once in Tartarus and in Polyphemus's cave, and the labyrinth and you no I'm good.

"no thank you," I said, "I think ill just be going now and we can just let by gones be by gones."

Alice gasped. I looked over towards her and noticed that her eyes went unfocused as if she were looking at something that wasn't there. "Bella,' she muttered. Edward suddenly disappeared from the clearing.

"what about Bella," I asked.

"someone is looking for her," Alice answered, "one of our kind."

"I don't know if I like that a bunch of monsters are fixated on my cousin."

"please refrain from calling us monsters," Carlisle answered after he asked the big guy follow Edward. "the truth of the matter is a little complicated, but ill tell you that our kind mate for life and our mate has been predetermined by some higher power." Great sounds like Aphrodite. An image of that girl Leah flashes before my eyes as he is giving me answers. "to not complicate matters. Edward has discovered his mate in Bella."

"What," I said flabbergasted, "how does that work? She's human and he's a …"

"Vampire,' Alice added, "yeah that is a little issue. Since Edward is adamant about not turning Bella into one of us, but I've foreseen that it will happen."

"You mean that you guys plan on turning her into one of you," I said incredulously. Oh gods, too much information. I guess I had used more energy then I thought in addition to all the shocks I've received because the next thing I remember is blacking out and falling to the ground.
