Chapter 31
Pickingup the phone that was ringing off Sonny's nightstand Carly answers it as shefinishes buttoning up the white blouse she was now wearing
"Hello"

"I thought I told you not to answer that phone before. That's my private personal line I use for
business only" Sonny remarks; not at all surprised that Carly broke therules and picked up the phone

"IF you don't want me to answer it why the hell did you call the line?" Carly questions backexasperated
*****
"I was testing you because I knew you would answer if someone called on the line and I was right. Don't pick up the line Carly. I mean it. That phone is off limits to you"

"So you called to pick a fight"
*****
"No I called because I wanted to make sure we were clear on the rules. My phone is off limits to
you" Sonny remarks back with a small smile across his face since a part ofhim enjoyed the bickering between them.
"Fine!" Carlyutters out before slamming the phone down on its receiver.
A few seconds later the phone rings again.Shaking her head Carly walks away from the phone and picks up her purse thatshe had threw on the bed. As she walks out of the bedroom her cellphone startsto ring. Opening her purse Carly pulls out her cellphone and answers it…
"Hello"

"You hung up on me" Sonnyremarks as she answers her cellphone.
*****
"I'm just following the rules" Carly smiles as she walks down the hallway... "You were the one who said that phone was off limits to me so I hung up since I wouldn't dream of breaking your precious rules"

"Good because my rules are there for your protection" Sonny grins
*****
"You shouldn't worry so much. The baby and I are fine. You and Jason are the ones in the war zone not me" Carly pointsout; knowing that even when she ditched her guards she would still be safesince she would be at Lenny's bedside at the hospital unlike Sonny who couldface the same fate as Jason or maybe worst.

"Jason is going to be fine and no one is going to take me down. I'll be back home before you know it" Sonny states confidently

"I'm going to hold you to your promise Sonny"
*****
"Same here because the last thing I want is for you and our baby to be put in harm's way. Florida is
a dangerous place right now so you need to stay in Port Charles where it's safe"

"Yeah I know" Carlysighs out heavily; hoping that Sonny was wrong and that nothing bad was goingto happen since she HAD to see Lenny in his time of need.
Lenny had been there for her and she justcouldn't deny his request after he got hit by a car and was fighting for hislife.

Frowning by the tone of her voice Sonny asks "You're not going to be causing any trouble right?"
*****
"Sonny would you get off my back already?! How many times do you have to hear me say it?" Carlyquestions back defensively
"I'm sorry. I'm just overprotective of what matters to me" Sonny admits since he had a bad gutfeeling over Carly that got worse the more the time passed by. He wished hedidn't have to leave Port Charles to begin with but as boss he had to go downand handle this mess himself before things got out of hand.

"I understand you're worried Sonny but I don't want anything to happen to our baby anymore then you
do. I'm going to keep our baby safe." Carly declares since she would doanything to protect her child.

"I know you wouldn't want any harm to come to our child" Sonny admits
*****
"No I wouldn't. I have to go Sonny" Carly states
*****
"Shopping again?"Sonny questions back
*****
"Actually I'm going to the theater to watch a movie. Not sure which one yet but I figure it will
help distract me from all the mess that's going down in Florida since I need to be avoiding stress"

"Alright, have fun and-"
*****
Cutting Sonny off Carly goes on to say "And stay close to the guards. I know, I know Sonny"

"That and try not to eat too much junk food while you're there because as much as you like eating that crap it's not good for either you or the baby"
*****
"Goodbye Sonny"Carly utters out before shutting her phone and tossing it in her purse
Grabbing her coat that was on the couch Carlymakes her way towards the penthouse door and opens it. "Let's go"
"Go?" Maxquestions confused as Milo looks on with a nervous look across his face
"Yeah we're going to the movies" Walking past them Carly makes her way towards the elevator doorsand pushes the elevator button.
"Everything okay?"Jason questions Sonny as he walks into the room
"I hope so" Sonnysighs out heavily
"You and Carly fought?"
"No but I just have a bad gut feeling that something bad is going to happen to her like I did when Savage almost killed her" Sonny explains
"Max and Milo won't allow anyone hurt Carly." Jason declares.
"Yeah I know but that only works as long as Carly doesn't ditch them" Sonny points out
"You think she will?"
"I hope not but I also know how much she wanted to come down here with the trail that is about to
start over the bastard who killed her best friend and with you getting shot."
"Then go back to Port Charles. I can handle it here" Jason remarks as he starts to get out ofbed; fighting back a moan from the pain he felt
"Lay back down!" Sonnyorders out "You are in no shape to handle this. I'm the boss so I'm going to deal with Savage's old crew once and for all"
"I'm better" Jasongrunts out
"The hell you are and if I go home without you it will only upset Carly since she knows you've been shot. I will deal with Savage's old crew as fast as I can and pray that Carly listens to me for once in her life and does as she's told" Sonnyremarks as Jason slowly lies back down.

"Are you sure about this?" Max asks shocked that instead of looking at those sappy girly moviesthat women loved so much she was choosing to watch a marathon on the big screenof the whole series of Indiana Jones.
"Yeah why do you ask?" Carly questions back as the waited in the line up to get their tickets
"I just didn't think Indiana Jones would be your type of movie that's all" Max comments as Milo
smiles pleased that he was going to be paid to watch his favorite movies oneafter the other.
"Are you kidding me? Harrison Ford is HOT as Indiana Jones. I could watch him in action all day long"Carly comments
"Don't let the boss hear you say that" Max advises since he had a feeling even though IndianaJones was a fictional character the boss wouldn't like hearing his fiancé callanother man hot.
"You know I'm sure we can pass these people in line and get a better seat if I spoke to the manager" Max states
"No. I don't need you and Milo to bully the poor manager to get me a better seat Max" Carly remarks back since she hoped herplan was going to work by choosing the movie that was the most jammed packedthat way she could sit by herself and sneak out during the movie to take thenext bus out of Port Charles to Florida without being seen by Max and Milo.

A half an hour later Carly lets out a sigh ofrelief as she boards the bus that was about to head towards Florida. She almostfelt bad for Max but since he ratted her out she wasn't that remorseful over
the grief he would end up getting from Sonny once both Max and Milo realizedshe slipped out of the crowed theater as they watched the movie a few rowsbehind her.
Carly did feel a little sorry for Milo howeverbut she was sure like Johnny he would end up getting warehouse duty which wasworth it to her since her friend needed her right now. She couldn't believe the
bad luck Lenny was having lately between dealing with the trail that was aboutto start and now this car accident. She just prayed that Lenny would pullthrough and the bastard who hit him would pay for his crimes and the son of abitch who killed her friend would stay in jail where he belonged.

"So you're telling me we haven't located any of Savage's old crew yet?!" Sonny asks annoyedthat there has been no sight of them yet since he just wanted to handle thismess and go home to Carly and make sure she and their baby were okay.
"Boss everyone is trying but it's like they disappeared. Maybe Jason shooting the guy that shot him scared them off" Johnny utters out with a heavy sigh
"No. They're hiding somewhere waiting to strike at the perfect moment." Sonny states confidently
since if they were going to back off they would have when Savage died. Savage'sold crew were hungry for power and the fact he was in charge now was hurtingthem dearly with his no drug rule…. "Savage's old crew need to be found stat! I have a pregnant fiancé at home that I need to take care of so this
needs to be taken care of now Johnny! I don't have time to waste here!"
"I understand boss"
"Then why are you still here?! Get going and find those mother fuckers and don't come back until
they are found!" Sonny shouts out in frustration since his gut keptscreaming at him that something bad was about to happen.
"Yes sir" Johnnynods before running off.
As Johnny runs out Sonny glances towards thebedroom Jason was sleeping in as he hears the door open. Glaring at Jason,Sonny demands "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
"My job. Johnny and the guys obviously need me since they haven't located Savage's old crew yet" Jasondeclares fighting back a moan as he slowly walks out of the room.
"We've been through this already Jason! You're in no shape to be going out and looking for Savage's old crew"
"The faster I leave here and do my job the faster you go home to Carly" Jason points out
"You won't be any help to me if you pass out from pain while you're looking for Savage's old crew. Go back to bed the men will locate them soon" Sonny utters out as hewalks towards one of the windows and glances outside; praying that his gut waswrong about Carly and that everything was going to be alright.

After texting Dan that she was arriving soonCarly glances out the window as rain drops hit the window. A small smile formsacross her face as she finally arrives "home". Sure she was now living in PortCharles but it never felt like home to her. Florida was home, a home she missedbut wasn't the same since her father was gone thanks to Savage.
Life before Sonny felt so long ago even though ithadn't been that long ago Carly risked her life in order to save Sonny fromcertain death by Savage's hands. Truth was she didn't regret saving Sonny'slife even if cost her, her father since it gave her the baby that she was nowcarrying. She would always love and miss her father but she didn't regretcarrying her baby.

"Fucking idiots!"Sonny shouts out as he throws his phone angrily across the room causing it toshatters into little pieces as it bangs hardly against the wall.
"What's wrong?"Jason asks with a grunt as he walks out of the washroom
"Carly ditched Max and Milo!"
"How long ago?"
"Those clowns don't even know for sure because they were too busy watching a fucking movie instead
of CARLY!" Sonny screams out as he storms out of the bedroom
"Where are you going?" Jason calls out as he slowly follows Sonny out of the bedroom
"To find Carly before she gets herself killed! The only reason why she would ditch her guards
is because she wanted to come to Florida to see you and be at that fucking trial!" Sonny spats out
"I'm going to come with you"
"Why don't people ever fucking listen to me anymore?! How many times man do I have to tell you, you're in no shape to be running around town! You need you rest so fucking REST! I will find Carly myself and then I'm going to wring her neck!"
Watching Sonny as he storms towards the frontdoor Jason lets out a heavy sigh hating he couldn't help Sonny when he neededhim the most.

Steeping out of the bus as the rain pours downon her hair causing it to curl Carly looks on in shocked as she sees Dan withLenny by his side waiting by Dan's car standing under an umbrella.
Walking away from his father Lenny rushestowards Carly who for the first time in her life looked speechless "I'm sorry" he softly tellsher; hating he had to lie but he felt like he had no other choice but to lie inorder to save Carly from the life of misery she was living with Sonny.
Balling her hand into a fist Carly takes Lennyoff guard as she punches him in the face causing him to fall backwards onto theground. "YOU'RE SORRY?!"Carly screams out loudly feeling like a damn fool that Lenny and Dan hadobviously played her.
"Ouch" Lennycries out as blood streams out of his nose.
"Caroline, Lenny and I had no choice. We're just trying to save you!" Dan explains as people whowere getting off the bus looked on at the scene in shocked.
"Save me?! Are you crazy?! I risked my life to come here!" Carly yells out as the bus drivergets off the bus and asks Lenny…
"Do you want me to call the cops on this woman?"
"No. we just had a misunderstanding" Lenny utters out as his father helps him stand up from offthe ground
"Carly!" a mancalls out her name as he walked through the crowd of on lookers that had gotten
off the bus.
Turning around at the man calling out her nameCarly frowns as she asks "Do I know you?"
"I work for Mr. Corinthos" the man explains as he stands in front of her. "He wants me to take you to him right away. He's concerned over your safety"
"Don't go with him Caroline!" Dan calls out to her
"Carly don't go…please" Lenny pleads to her
"Was the trail another lie?" Carly asks them since they lied about Lenny being in a carcrash fighting for his life.
"We would do anything to save you from him. It's what Carly would have wanted us to do for her best friend" Dan explains
"Carly wouldn't have wanted this? She wouldn't have wanted you to be so cruel and lie to me about
the man who killed her in order to lure me back here nor would she want you to lie about some accident. She would have respected my choice in being with Sonny. Carly is turning in her grave right now at your deceitfulness" Carly spatsout before going on to say in an angry tone of voice "I don't ever want to
talk to either one of you again!" Carly spats out to them angrily. Turningher gaze back onto Sonny's employee Carly lets out a heavy sigh; nodding herhead she softly utters out "Let's go"
"Carlee!" Lennycalls out her name but Carly ignores him as she walks through the crowd bySonny's goon's side.
"Don't be foolish!" Danshouts out to Carly since she was putting herself and her baby in danger by not
letting them help her.
Fighting back the tears that wanted to fall byLenny's and Dan's betrayal Carly frowns a little as she sees the car Sonny'semployee was driving.
"Sonny's men normally drive in fancy bullet proof cars not vans. This van doesn't look to Sonny's safety standards" Carly notes as he opens the door for her.
"Mr. Corinthos didn't want to attract attention. Savage may be dead but his men know your face
and they would do anything to get their hands on you. They would never think to look for you in an old Junker van like this one."
"I think I should call Sonny before we leave" Carly comments.
Opening her purse Carly is taken off guard asthe man grabs her purse from out of her hand and tosses it to the ground beforemaking a grab for her, trying to shove her into the car.
"HELP! LET GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"Carly screams out as she tries to fight him off her
"SHUT UP!" Hescreams out as he pulls out a gun and points it in her face "GET in or you die right here and now!"
"HEY get away from her!" Dan screams out as he runs towards them hearing Carly's screams for
help since he had decided against Lenny's advice to try and catch up to Carlyand talk some sense into her.
Shoving Carly into the backseat of the van heslams the door shut as Dan comes running towards him. Pulling out his gun asCarly desperately tries to get out of the locked van.
The gun man shoots Dan an evil smile as hepulls the trigger of his gun causing Dan to fall to the ground. As Dan bleedsout on the ground the shooter runs towards the driver seat as people rushedtowards Dan hearing the gun going off.
Starting the engine the man lets out an evillaugh as he hears Carly banging against the separator that was placed betweenthe back seats and the driver area.
Speeding out of the bus stop parking lot heyells out to Carly "Bet you wished you stayed in Port Charles now bitch…"

Driving in front of the bus station Sonnyfrowns as he notices news cast along with police cars and ambulances parkedeverywhere
"What the hell?" Sonnycomments to himself as he parks his car in front of the bus station and takesoff running towards the commotion.
Seeing Lenny standing in front of a cop as hewas getting questioned his heart sunk into his chest.
Grabbing Lenny by the collar as an ambulancetakes off in the background Sonny screams out to him "WHERE'S CARLEEEE, YOU SON OF A BITCH!?"
"A gun man took her after he shot my father" Lenny cries out as the cop tries to pull Sonny offhim.
"You'll pay for this!" Sonny vows before taking off towards his car in a mad dash to findCarly.
