A/N: Alright time for the start of the Lullaby Competition! Who is excited to see what our favorite team is going to do? Well I know I am, so lets get ready to read the crazy adventure unfold in Fairy High: A Love Tail!

Chapter 11: Lets Start a Band!

(P.O.V Lucy)

Actually classes were put on hold since the Lullaby competition was going to be held at Fairy High, as the other students were preparing for festivities, and designing the stage, Natsu and I were put in charge of forming a band. I sat in a daze, as I lean lazily in a desk, an image of fast moving fingers circling in my head.

"Lucy..." I heard my name slightly, as I continued to daze off... "Lucy!" I suddenly broke out of my trace and looked to where my name was called. Natsu was sitting there slightly worried. I looked around and realized we somehow got into the music room. Instruments from classical pianos to modern, rock electric guitars were set up for us.

"Sorry I was day dreaming" I smiled slightly trying to reassure Natsu. He stared for a moment.

"You ready to get started?" He questioned me almost like a child who had a bad dream.

"Yep! Enter the first person!" I exclaimed toward the door as Natsu and I both picked up pen and paper ready to evaluate the auditions. A tall man with long green hair walked in, a violin in hand.

"Freed?!" Natsu exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like? I'm auditioning of course!" Mr. Freed smiled wide and played a few, beautiful cords on his violin.

"Get out of here the competition is for students only!" Natsu started to push Freed out the door. Freed laughed as he complained and the door was shut behind him. "I swear that guy is a wacko" Natsu sighed. I noticed a small smile on Natsu's face, and started to giggle slightly. "What?" he pouted.

"Oh nothing, let keep going" I waved it off and called in the next audition, "Next!" Erza started to walk in, a very happy look on her face.

"Erza? You're auditioning?" I questioned.

"Of course, there is nothing in the rules saying the Student Council President can't participate" she smiled more, a small tint of blush forming on her cheeks.

"Alright, Erza Scarlet show us what you got!" Natsu exclaimed. Erza suddenly got serious.

"Right" she walked over to a simple bass guitar and started to hook it up. There was a pause, and Natsu and I looked at each other then back at Erza. Suddenly a wave of presence rushed from her to us as she started to strum some cords. The sound of the bass guitar ran through my finger tips and rushed over the rest of my body. She started to sing, and even though she wasn't hooked up to a mic I could still hear her voice reach my ears. My eyes started to sparkle as she played.

She finished. Natsu and I were speechless, Erza stood there almost a little awkward.

"That was awesome!" I cheered, and a smile widened on Erza's face.

"You said it, you're definitely in! We just need to decide if we want to put you as a singer or the basses!" Natsu cheered too as he wrote down his thoughts on the paper. Erza laughed and unhooked everything.

"Thank you, but I'm more comfortable playing bass, why don't you sing Natsu?" she walked over to us and stood comfortably, arms crossed. I looked over to Natsu who was still writing.

"You can sing Natsu?" I questioned almost not sure how to take the news.

"Hm? Yeah I guess... But I think I should fairly audition instead of just putting myself down as the singer" He smiled over to me.

"That's true, should I help audition?" Erza asked proudly.

"Erza the student council needs your approval on some of the events!" Levy ran in with a stack of papers in hands, Erza sighed.

"Maybe next time" she smiled toward us and turned and started to walk out with Levy, "Lets get going." The two left leaving a quiet music room once more.

Time passed and we had more people come in and audition, some with outrageously tone deaf songs, others with jazzy saxophone solos, however, none were what we were looking for in the Mahō no Yōsei band. Natsu and I both sighed and slumped into our chairs, the day was growing short, and it seemed all we've done was sit in these chairs.

"Is there anyone else?" Natsu whined.

"I think one more... Next" I called out again for what seemed the hundredth time today.

"Hey I'm the last one" smiling, shirt less, and with two drum sticks in hand was Gray Fullbuster.

"Oh come on, why do you have to audition?" Natsu whined and pouted more.

"Shut up flame brain, is an open audition anyone can do it" Gray snapped back.

"Sorry, but our band has a clothes must be worn at all times rule, so sorry stripper like you cant join" Natsu sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

"Why you!"

"Would you two stop it!" I shouted and they froze mid pose and looked at me, "Natsu let him audition, he's already part of Mahō no Yōsei to begin with, so he's as much of this as we are" I sighed and leaned back. I could see Natsu pout and Gray grin in triumph.

"Alright get on with it naked snow man." Natsu almost shooed him with his hand and Gray walked over to the drum set.

"You sure you don't want to join pyro?" Gray grinned and flipped a jump stick in his hand as he set up a microphone near by. Almost like a secret code Natsu stared wide eyed, a small smile creeping on his face. Natsu started to stand and walk over to another mic that was hooked up.

"You know using this song is slightly cheating" Natsu fixed the mic to his height. I stared confused as the two seemed more close than normal. and the song started and I knew instantly that these two would be awesome together in a band.

I found myself tapping my foot to the beat a huge smile across my face as the two of them sung together. Gray was amazing on drums, each beat pounded in my chest, and his voice matched his looks and talent, but... My eyes always ended up on Natsu, he was so into the music and song that he seemed to be from a different planet. It was only him and the music, and as the song came to the bridge sweat poured down from their faces, the track with the other instruments played and I found myself moving my fingers to a certain part of the song, almost ready to play with them. The song ended.

"And cue awesome explosions!" Natsu shouted into the mic making a slight high pitched sound.

"Ow!" Gray threw one of his drum sticks at the back of Natsu's head, "Will you calm yourself!"

"What was that for?!" Natsu yelled back. My face was still lite up as I remembered the feeling inside of me from their song.

"That was amazing!" I jumped from my chair and ran other to the two guys, "Gray we defiantly need you on drums, and Natsu, Erza was right you have to be our lead singer, you two were just so awesome!" I almost sounded like a middle school fan girl as I tried to explain my excitement to the two of them.

"You think so?" Natsu smiled, a slight blush across his cheeks, I slowed myself down and smiled up at him.

"Yeah, I won't except anyone else, same with you Gray" I smiled in his direction, showing that I didn't forget he was there.

"Well if you guys say it's a go, I'm in" Gray smirked and shifted his weight to one leg.

"Alright, Gray on drums, Erza on bass, me singing, we almost got a full band we just need the electric guitarist!" Natsu smiled down at me, and I froze for a moment.

"Ye-yeah, well I'm going to go take a break... If anyone else come to audition just let them know what we are looking for!" I almost ran out of the music room.

I sighed as I walked down the hall in a slump, "That looked so suspicious Lucy..." I opened a random door to my right and as I entered an object caught my eye. I seemed to be in the music room storage space, and sitting almost calling to me was an electric guitar, my hands seemed to be pulled by it. I picked it up and pulled the strap over my shoulder. "I wonder..."

(P.O.V Natsu)

I left Gray in charge of the auditions, he is part of the club, so he needs to start pulling his own weight. I walked the halls looking for Lucy, she seemed nervous about something and wasn't acting like herself. I just couldn't place what was upsetting her though. I kept walking through the halls, when I suddenly heard a few cords of an electric guitar. I stopped and then fallowed my ears to the sound, and I ended up at the door of the music room storage. The door was slightly cracked open, so I peeked inside, standing there like she's down this a million times before was Lucy. She took a deep breath and suddenly her fingers were playing wicked fast, and the music hit me like a bullet. She belted out the words and started to rock out in the small room. I started tapping my fingers, and then my foot, soon I wanted to jump up and down to her music. She was so into the song, that room became her own little world, and it was intense. Entranced by her playing and her voice I started to lean in closer, and closer, and suddenly I was crashing through the door, the guitar went off key for a second and stopped. I was on the ground Lucy starring down at me.

I smiled up at her, "Damn... I wanted to hear the rest of the song" her face became beat red, to the point I was sure steam was rising from her flushed cheeks.

"Natsu..." was all she could get out in her meek voice, as I starred up at her confused for a moment. I stood up and took one of her hands in mine.

"Listen I don't know why you're so shy about playing, but Lucy..." I looked her straight in the eyes, "Please, we need you to be the electric guitarist, you're amazing!" I smiled wide and she stared at me for a moment.

"Oh my..." We both turned toward the door, standing there with a few small instraments in hand was Mirajane, she was smiling. "Did I interrumpt something?" she giggled. I looked down and I was still holding Lucy's hand. I quickly let go and turned away from her for a second.

'I really need to control my body...' I sighed to myself.

"I'll do it" Lucy's voice made me turn around to look at her.

"Huh?" was all I could say.

"I said I'll do it" she slightly pouted, but a small smile pulled at the corner of her lips, a tint of blush still flushed her cheeks. All I could do was smile and we both left a confused Mirajane out of the loop.
