...Gwen smiled as the two held hands in the secluded dinner. It wasn't fancy; just some dinner on the side of the road. Still, no one was there to bother them. Not one fan, just some truckies and a few families making their way across America. Other then that, it was just them and some breakfast between the two of them. It sounded stupid, but she had a real craving for some bacon and eggs.

"Hungry?" He asked as the waitress set the plates down. She smirked grabbing her fork and stabbing it into the scrambled egg.

He chuckled as he placed his hand on hers wanting to be with her.

"So you're going to move in with me right?" He asked, as she nibbled on her dinner.

"Um,"

She placed her fork down on the side of the table and grabbed his hand.

"I'll have to ask my grandpa; I don't think he'd be too happy about it. I mean, I'd be better off just getting an apartment; I'm moving to college at the end of this year"

She sighed, closing her eyes as Kevin frowned.

"So where you heading off too?"

She opened her eyes.

"Um, well...Harvard. I'd love to be a doctor"

He sighed scooting round to her side and holding her. Gwen sighed.

"I'm sorry Kevin, I'd love to stay with you but-"

"Your cousin. Your family"

"Grandpa's still not well. I just can't abandon him"

"Your cousin can't take care of him, or a nurse or-"

She frowned at him, eyesbrows furrowing.

"I am not sticking my grandfather in a home"

He sighed, resting back in his chair.

"So you're just going to let your cousin take advantage of you for the rest of your life"

She placed her fork down on the side of the table.

"My cousin's not taking advantage of me and it's not for the rest of my life"

"He is. Are you blind?"

She arched her eyebrow.

"I'm not blind, Kevin" She rolled her eyes before she felt her pocket vibrate.

She sighed, staring into her partners eyes frowning before she reached into her back pocket and removed her phone staring at it.

Kevin groaned leaning back in his chair knowing exactly who it was.

"Hey Ken,"

Kevin's eyes widened.

"...Wait. Hold on, why did Ben come over?..."

"...Are...Are you drunk?" She closed her eyes shaking her head as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"...What did Ben say?" She groaned before she looked her boyfriend in the eyes. He looked worried before he grabbed her hand and held it tight. She leaned in.

"I'll find out what he wants. Thanks Ken" She shut her phone off before kissing Kevin's hand.

"Ben wants to meet me" She avoided eye contact.

"Where?" Kevin scrunched his face.

"Bellwood park"

"You're not going"

"It's not your decision"

"He'll hurt you"

"I've got a plan. Just trust me on this. I'll meet up with Ben. No more sneaking around; we'll get this out of our system. In the meantime I need you to go round my place with a dufflebag and grab some of my stuff- the books being the most important"

He groaned staring at the redheaded beauty. She was going to get killed doing this. Nevertheless, he agreed with her plans. He'd be quick, grabbing her stuff then moving back to the park and helping her out with her cousin"

"Just don't get hurt. I'll come back and we can deal with your cousin together as a team"

She smiled nodding before she leaned forward capturing his lips.

Her shoes scearded against the grass as she took small steps into the darkness towards a dimly lit space under the street light. Under it laid a wooden bench, old and probably cold to the touch. Nevertheless, she decided to take a seat on it and wait for her cousin to show up. She didn't know how long he would be. He was late to every showing including every battle which they had ever fought on. However, he had set up the meeting this time around and she figured that he would at least be on time for this one. She shivered tucking her hand into her pockets as she leaned her back against the wood and closed her eyes meditating.

Kevin pulled up outside her house. He noticed her rooms light was on. He sighed, knowing it would be more trickier than he had originally thought. Was Ben in there going through her stuff. He hoped so. He wanted to smash the crap out of him. He unclipped his seatbelt and grabbed an empty duffle bag out of the passenger seat before moving to the side of the house. He climbed up the side, clinging onto the ledge as he pulled himself in the room. No one was there but the light was on. Thank god. He closed the door and locked it before walking over to her bookshelf and began shovelling everything he could grab into the bag.

"Gwen?" He heard the elderly man call out. He gulped turning around as the door handle move, someone was attempting to get in.

"Gwen, is that you? How was your trip? I got worried when you didn't come home this morning"

Kevin groaned before he turned round to her close drawer and began grabbing the rest of her stuff.

"Gwen?" He heard the panic in the old man's voice.

He sighed before he heard the door begin to get kicked in. He had no time to react, like a deer in headlights he was stunned.

Within a second it broke before the older man came in aiming a pistol towards the boy's head.

"Kevin? Where's Gwen?" The older man arched his eyebrow.

"She's having a chat with Ben. Gwen's going to move in with me. She wants to and you can't stop us"

"Having a chat" Max lowered his weapon thinking.

"Where?"

"At the park?" His eyes lit up in shock before he turned round to the door.

"Wait where are you going?" Kevin shouted down the stairs.

He pushed her to the ground, fist smashing against her hip. She had barely enough time to react after the first and second barrage of her cousin's attack. Why, out of all the aliens did he have to choose four-arms. Her body crunched as she kneeled over, back scearding and hitting the dirt as she scrunched her face attempting to recover from the attack but as quickly as she tried to; he was back at it, jumping down above her body as his arm recoiled to hit her again. She held her side in agony as she threw up a temporary shield to protect herself. She was losing and he knew it. She wasn't going to last much longer in this state and she was seconds away from going Antodyte on his ass.

She gritted her teeth as she forced herself to stand up as he smashed the shield with his massive arms. The shield didn't even budge. Not even a crack, all she could see was the droplets of the water fall down from the skies and crash on her shield. It was strong enough to take any attack Four-arms let out in a temper tantrum. It meant she had a lot of time on her hands to recover and think of a solution that would bring this stupid argument to an end. Or so she thought, pain was flooding through her leg and her foot was beginning to go numb. She carefully slid off her heels, making sure she wouldn't stack it when she moved off. As much as she liked her school shoes, they were the worst wear available for fighting monsters. She preferred her trainers or her suit of armour, equipped with steel-caps to throw in an alien's face any day.

"FIGHT ME!" The alien screamed at her. She narrowed her eyes at her cousin, before she turned around noticing they had ended up in a park. Bellwood's park to be exact. An open field surrounded by trees, a playground, a few paths and now a giant whole in the ground.

"Ben, stop!" She wanted to shout at him but her voice crumpled, a probable symptom of her painful injury that he had lashed into her. But it wasn't the only one; her cheek was cut, shirt ripped at her sleeves, stockings cut and hair a complete mess.

She breathed out annoyed when he continued to pound against her shield trying to break every spec of it to pieces just so he could teach her a lesson. Instead of waiting she decided to act. Bringing her hands up near her face she pushed sending a bolt of manna out from the shield smacking her cousin dead in the face. He stumbled back as she send another barrage of energy sprawling towards him. He tried to block assault but each shot hit hard and straight to his head and stomach.

He cringed ducking to find cover before he pressed onto the ultimatrix symbol and changed into...

"ENERGY!" Ben shouted, his armoured form running straight towards her. Her eyes widened as he shot a blast of radiation towards her shield. Luckily, it caused no damage and she sighed in relief as she stumbled back beginning to smash the shield again.

'Child' The redheaded Antodyte rolled her eyes as she sent another wave of energy towards her cousin, knocking him down to the ground.

She smirked, deciding to take an opportunity to knock him out before restraining him. She lowered her shield, racing towards him through the rain. Hands alighting with pure energy as she aimed towards the ultimatrix symbol, summoning a disable spell that would turn the alien back to her human cousin.

Ben groaned as he saw her eyes alighting and took the opportunity to end their petty argument. He wished she would see things his way. He could see she was standing next to his left leg as she summoned her powers. He smiled to himself and brought his leg up causing her to trip and fall back first into the mud before he tackled her, getting on top of her and straddling her with all 120kg of his weight. He knew he would crush her if he placed too much of his weight on her, so he was going to make this quick. Nothing too painful, just enough to get her to stop fighting him. He placed his hand on her shoulder forcing energy through it and heating up the metal into a red hot iron. She screamed in agony as it burnt her clothing and seeped through to her skin.

"STOP!" She screamed as she felt her skin searing. She raised other arm up striking him in the chest trying to push him back as much as possible but he clung on at least for another couple of seconds til he released her and stood up. She kneeled over, holding her shoulder in agony, tears cascading down her face as she shook. She tried to see the damage through her blurred vision and the night sky but all she could see was her shirt peeled off to her shoulder with some of the fabric still interlacing within the injury. She saw flashes of red light surpass her vision and the ultimatrix time out sound go off.

'Here comes the lecture' She thought to herself as she sniffed trying to force herself onto her hands and knees to stand up.

"Don't!, you're going to hurt yourself even more" He took a step towards the crying girl, curled up on the ground, hair drapping over her face. He couldn't see her properly, that was for sure. Which meant, he couldn't see what she was thinking. Though, he had to assume she was in the worst mindset right now. Scared from being hurt even further and stressed about whether she would see Kevin again. Still, he had to be the mature one and stand up for himself.

He bent down next to her watching as she shook, her voice cracking with harsh, shallow breaths.

"It's okay, Gwen" He placed a hand on her back as he listened to her sobs.

"I'll take you home and get you tidied up" He comforted her. She froze from his touch. He had just tortured her and now he was trying to be her friend. Was he trying to give her 'Stockholm Syndrome' or something.

'What the hell'

"Gwen!"

Her eyes lit up in anger. She wasn't going to give up the fight. She grabbed hold of his arm and punched him the face with her good arm. He was send back, blood spewing down his broken nose as he collapsed back into the mud. He screamed in agony, clutching his face.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" He screamed at her as she stood up and limped over to him, clasping her shoulder in her hand.

"You think it's funny to torture people?" She asked eyes alighting with raw power. His eyes lit up in shock at the realisation that she was about to lose it.

Max had started to become worried the split second he had checked his Plumber's badge to find two particular dots together at one particular location. The park. In particular- the park which Ben and Gwen always ended up destroying. It wasn't like they planned it but every single time a fight broke out between the two they would always end up at the Bellwood park- the furthest place away from any homes or buildings; the closest place to their home when they needed to lick their wounds. Fortunately, he was close by when his badge had pinged and he had got a distress signal by one of the badges. Not by his grandchildren but buy one of the fellow Plumbers who had stated that their had been reports about screaming and shouting coming from the park, as well as something strong enough to throw one of the native trees into space.

He assumed, it had to be one of one of the two and now, since he had checked his phone, he had decided it was definitely both. He sighed as he pulled his car into the parking lot and unclipped his belt. He was getting too old to start breaking up fights between the two super-powered teenagers. In fact, he was one step away from sending his granddaughter to Antodyne for good and getting Ben a new Plumber. He had already decided who. As soon as the elderly man had opened his car door he could hear the yelling from the darkness. It had to be the twin cousins. their was no other option. He removed his flashlight from his over-coat and began walking towards the sounds.

"Oof"

"Ah,"

"Ow"

"Quit hair pulling"

He rolled his eyes as he took another step forward, light falling onto two teenagers. He cursed under his breathe as he saw the blood spewing down both teenagers faces. Ben with a busted lip, broken nose cut at the top and two black eyes. Gwen with a cut eyebrow, bleeding nose and right blackened eye.

"STOP IT YOU TWO NOW!" Max screamed as Gwen grabbed her cousins' ripped shirt punching him in the face as he held onto her, throwing her to the ground and grabbing her hair, scrunching it into a bunch. Max grabbed the hem of Ben's jacket attempting to stop him before he broke his cousins' nose.

"STOP IT!" He placed himself in the way between the two. Ben couldn't extend his arm, no matter how much he wanted to. His grandfather instead grabbed his arm holding the girl's hair and attempted to make him let go.

"She deserves it" Ben stated like a child.

"No one deserves to be beaten like this Ben, especially not your cousin" Max stared the boy in the eyes.

Ben stared into the man's eyes and sighed, releasing his cousin's blood red hair and removing himself from both of them.

Max turned back to the girl, in the mud with her blackened eye winced in pain. Max frowned at her; equally disappointed at her actions.

"That goes for you two, young lady!" He grabbed her arms, helping her stand-up. She wobbled, extremely off balance as she held herself in pain.

He grabbed hold of her steadying her as the older man stared towards his grandson.

"The car's just over there. We're all going back home and we're going to talk about this. No more fighting; no more arguing- you're just going to sit and listen. Understand?"

Both teens nodded before both begin to limp over to the SUV their grandpa had bought just over a couple of weeks ago. He noticed the girl staggering with each movement. She was no longer placing anymore weight on her leg and was beginning to rely on holding him closely enough to use him as a third leg.

He leaned over her, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her up so she was stable enough to walk to the car.

...

She didn't have time to change or run a cold shower on her shoulder. In fact, as soon as she entered her home; her grandfather had sat the two down on the couch before lecturing them.

"This cannot go on any further. You two are both endangering yourselves and others. What if their had been a family at that park; you could've hurt somebody not to mention yourselves" He pointed at Ben who was currently holding his nose in agony.

"She started it" Ben argued.

Max gritted his teeth in anger. "I don't care who started it; you're both responsible for your actions" He stated crossing his arms as he watched his grandson holding his face in pain and his granddaughter seething through her teeth as her hand fluttered over her shoulder now red, blistered and sore as hell. She scrunched her face as she stared down at the ground contemplating her life-choices right now. She wondered if she would be spending another week on the couch thanks to her cousin's temper tantrum aimed directly at her. She was a mess. She knew it and so did Ben.

"This partnership cannot go on any further" Max stated staring down at his two grandchildren.

'What the hell was he talking about?' She thought to herself as she wiped the sweat off her forehead and glanced into the elderly man's eyes. He sighed, as he turned to Ben.

"I've looked into getting you a partner, Ben. He came highly recommended straight from the Plumbers Academy"

Both cousin's eyes lit up in shock.

"Is this a joke?" She asked.

"What the hell?" Ben stated. Neither of the two wanting this.

"I'm sorry but you two are going to end up killing each other at this rate. Gwen, I have already spoken to your grandmother. She's going to pick you up next week and take you back to Antodyne until you've mastered your powers"

Her eyes lit up in fear. She would be leaving everyone behind as well as forgetting everyone. She didn't want to lose her humanity; not yet, not ever.

"You-you can't do this" She muttered going into shock. Tears cascaded down her cheeks as she lowered her head bringing her hands up to cover her face.

Max sighed as he placed a gentle hand on her good shoulder rubbing it slowly.

"I'm sorry Gwen but you know it's been a long time coming. I should've sent you off years ago but you just didn't want to leave. You finish school next week; which means you've completed year 12 and you get your highschool certificate"

"I don't want to leave, what about..." She thought back to Kevin and leaving him alone. She couldn't bare the thought. He was going so well; he stopped doing crime and finally turned his life around thanks to her. She knew the second she would leave he would regress back to his normal self.

She stared up into her grandfathers eyes.

"Please don't do this!" She begged.

Her grandfather sighed, standing up from her.

"I'm sorry Gwen, but it's for your own good" He turned back to Ben who was staring down at his cousin. He didn't want to lose her either.

"Grandpa please. I don't want another partner. Gwen and I work well together, despite the constant arguing. We've saved billions of people; we should be able to do what we want"

Max shook his head.

"So do either of you's have to go to the hospital"

Both cousin's looked at each other.

"My head hurts" Ben stated holding his nose.

"My shoulder and waist hurt" She muttered looking into her grandpa's eyes.

He sighed, grabbing his keys ready to spend the night at the Plumber's infirmary.
