And Quinn's back - back at school, back acting like a bitch.. here we go, I hope you like it!

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters or Glee etc.

"I want back on the squad" the blonde demanded, slamming her hand upon Sue Sylvester's desk.

It was two weeks later, and Quinn had almost completely recovered from the accident. She was walking in to her first day back at school with a slight limp, but that was nothing, she was a survivor, and she didn't have long left. She had just under four months left to climb her way back up to the top, back where she should be. The girl couldn't believe that she'd spent so long pursuing frivolities such as glee club. This was her last year at McKinley, and she was going to go out with a bang.

The coach merely looked up at Quinn, and removed her glasses, apparently intrigued.

Quinn carried on, unfazed. "Preferably captain, and before you ask why you should. I'm the best, that's why I was captain in my junior year, and that's why you're going to let me on to the squad now. I'm also going to be on top of the pyramid" she declared.

Coach Sylvester leaned forwards on her elbows, "Why?"

Slamming the other hand on the desk, Quinn leaned over, she looked down on Coach Sylvester as she spoke, "It's my senior year, I'm leaving soon and I want to finish it the way I began. I lost my track, but now I'm back, and I know you need me. Cheerios hasn't done nearly as well without me" she remarked, nudging her head over to the trophy cupboard, sure, the Cheerios had won trophies, but they weren't the first place glories that Quinn was accustomed to. She stared into Sue's blue hues for a long moment, before Sue finally sat back.

"You know, Q, and I've said this many a time, but I see a lot of a young Sue Sylvester in you. And never have I seen more of it than today" Quinn smirked approvingly. "You're back on, top of the pyramid, but you're joint Captain with Santana". Quinn opened her mouth to protest, but Sue cut her off, "If you'd have come to me at the start of the year, the position would've been yours. This is what you get, you can take it or leave it".

Quinn glared at Sue, but then her expression softened and she snatched up the pompoms and uniform off the coach's desk, hurrying to the changing room.

Stalking down the corridor after school in her new, pressed uniform, Quinn could feel all eyes on her. She placed her hands confidently on her hips and walked alone, ignoring everyone else, transcendent. This year, Quinn was going to win Prom Queen, like her sister Frannie, and all those great Fabrays before her. It was a rite of passage, if she didn't win, then she couldn't proudly call herself a Fabray; especially with the temperature controlled room lined with generations of prom queen tiaras looming in her mind, taunting her. She'd been robbed last year by a school joke, but not this time. It was her last chance, but the odds had never looked better. She had it all, captain of the Cheerios, an ambassador for banning cell phone use in cars and back in the God Squad, not to mention all the weight that she'd lost on her sick bed. For the first time since she'd found out she was pregnant, Quinn felt beautiful, desirable, and free. The only thing left was the guy.

It wasn't as though Quinn needed a guy, because she didn't need anyone, it would just help to complete her image. Everyone knew that the best way to win prom queen was to run with the favourite for prom king. Obviously Finn wasn't an option since he'd run off with the dwarf, and nor was Sam because Quinn couldn't stand to be around him and Puck would be no help either. The blond pressed her lips together, surveying the hall, until her green hues fell upon Max Taylor. She nodded, confirming her own decision, before sauntering down the hall towards him.

"Hi" Quinn purred, grabbing two fistfuls of Max's t-shirt and staring him straight in the eye. Before he had a chance to respond, she pulled him towards her, pressing her lips against his.

Caught off guard, Max didn't respond for a moment, but, in a flash, he'd deepened the kiss, spinning them round so that Quinn was pressed up against his locker. He traced his tongue gently over hers, gradually becoming more and more forceful as their mouths fought each other.

Max finally broke off the kiss, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips, "Finally come to your senses, huh Fabray?" he chuckled, "Wonders what a little head trauma can do".

Quinn frowned, Max was a douche and she hated his snide remark about her accident, but that didn't matter. She wasn't looking for a boyfriend, well she was, but whether he was nice or not was irrelevant, plus, nice was boring. Max would give her the best chance for prom queen other than- Quinn stopped herself mid thought. The girl stood on tiptoe to reach Max's ear "Shut up" she whispered sexily, her soft lips tickling the lobe.

Obliging, Max pulled Quinn back to face him, reuniting their lips. His hands crawled from the small of her back, up to her shoulder blades and down again, lower.. lower. Quinn suppressed all of the warning bells screaming in her mind, she didn't want to do this, she wasn't even worried about her body as she'd never been skinnier, it was just.. not with Max. She didn't pull away or voice these thoughts, instead, focusing on his lips, trying to lose herself in the kiss. The wandering hands grazed Quinn's butt and she gasped involuntarily. However, Max completely misinterpreted her response, "Do you like that?" he grinned, raising his eyebrows. He pulled away from Quinn, grappling her skinny wrist and pulling her.

"What are you doing?" she hissed, trying to sound teasing but there was an air of anxiousness in her voice. Quinn scowled, anxiousness was just another emotion she'd rid herself of, it was weakness, alongside love, hope and dependency.

Nodding his head towards the boys' locker room, eyes gleaming, Max urged her, "Come on".

"Won't there be people changing in there for practice?" Quinn asked hesitantly, she was desperately hoping that the answer was yes.

"Nah, there's no practice today because half the team have turned gay and joined Glee club.. wait, you're not supposed to be in there, are you?" he sneered.

In her peripheral vision, Quinn caught sight of a blond haired, blue eyed boy staring at her with the saddest puppy dog eyes, after a second, she shrugged, "Nope," following Max inside where he immediately began clawing at her crisp Cheerio's uniform.

"Max, really?" came an exasperated voice from behind her. "And where were you at Glee club?"

"I don't know what you're talking about" Quinn replied flatly. Instantly, her mind was pervaded with thoughts that she'd been trying to suppress all week, thoughts about the faux surfer boy. She frowned, she shouldn't even be thinking about that, Sam had told her that he'd dyed his hair in an act to fit in before arriving at McKinley, and Quinn couldn't help noticing how similar they were. But now, whenever her thoughts were left unguarded, they drifted towards what he'd said the last time she saw him, 'just so you know, we've raised over $300 for 'Lima Homeless Shelters & Services for the Needy'. Sam knew how much that charity meant to her, to both of them, as they'd both been homeless at one point in their lives, Sam, just recently and Quinn when she was pregnant with Beth. Quinn stopped, feeling her eyes glaze over, silently hating herself. She closed her heavily mascara-ed lids and took three seconds to compose herself, "I quit Glee, so leave me alone Sam" she commanded.

"Come on, is this to spite me? We'll talk about Glee later," Sam raged, ignoring her last comment, "I mean, I know I shouldn't have said that, and if you please just let me explain but- well, come on, Q, you obviously don't like him, I practically had to tear him off you at Santana's a month ago"

The memory of Santana's party and the embarrassment that Quinn put herself through that night caused her to shudder. "I like him, not that it's any of your business, nor is Glee and we definitely will not be talking about it later, now leave me alone!" the blonde retorted, just as Santana and Brittany approached, one on each side, blocking her off from Sam.

"What did Trouty Mouth want?" Santana rasped.

Quinn sighed dramatically, "To stop me from letting go".

"Oh.. good for you Q" Santana said hesitantly, but she quickly grinned, adding "Welcome back to the fold, Fabray. We missed you around here, and, can I say, you've never looked better".

"I thought you liked Sa-" Brittany started, but Quinn cut her off.

"Thanks" Quinn quipped, smiling so she didn't seem so harsh. The blonde still needed friends, and she had full confidence that Santana and Brittany would never try to hold her back, as misguided as they were themselves. Brittany seemed to have forgotten Quinn's harsh tones already, as she pulled her and Santana into a tight hug, muttering "Unholy Trinity together again!".

"The unholy trinity" Quinn echoed, wrapping her now scarily slender arms around the other two girls, wishing that they hadn't lost those past two years to love.

What do you think of the 'new' Quinn? As always, any comments, constructive criticism? Thanks for reading!
