p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn proudly walked into the cafeteria in her Cheerio uniform. She'd picked her way into Sue's office the moment she'd left Sam's car and stolen a spare uniform, then quickly changed, stashing the stale yellow dress in her locker. She'd had a lot of reasons for changing – the fact that she'd worn it all day yesterday, the message that it would send if she wasn't in her uniform and that she really couldn't handle any more gossip after last week. Everyone had been talking about her break up and the lack of campaign posters – was she still running? What happened with Max? Who were the frontrunners now? Of course, everyone wanted to know the answers to those questions, but everyone was too afraid to ask. Although, the biggest reason for changing was that Quinn only had a few weeks left in this uniform. She loved Cheerios, and not just for the status that came with it. Quinn loved to perform, whether it be singing or stunting, and she was going to miss all of it when she left for Yale./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"It didn't take a minute before Santana and Brittany had rushed over from where they were sitting with the rest of the jocks to line up next to her. "We're waiting?" Santana asked, raising an eyebrow./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;""Yeah," Quinn smiled, "I decided that cutting in front of everyone isn't that okay."/p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Santana continued to question Quinn with her eyes, but the blonde merely shrugged "The line's not that long anyway."/p

p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn's lips couldn't help but upturn as Santana started talking about the awful Brazilian wax she'd had. Quinn's weekend had been perfect. She had finally let herself love Sam and she had been so happy. Which is why she couldn't understand why she'd freaked out on the drive this morning. She guessed that she was afraid, but there was really nothing holding her back now. She'd given up on her Prom Queen campaign, she didn't win last year and she probably still wasn't popular enough to win now. Now she was focusing on herself, what would really make her happy. To be honest, that's what she'd been doing all along, but now she was sure of what she wanted. Prom Queen would've been amazing but it was a Fabray dream, not Quinn Fabray's dream. Quinn wanted Yale, Sam and to win nationals in Cheerios and Glee./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"The three girls grabbed their lunches and made their way towards the tables. Quinn had a baked potato, beans, cheese and a sausage. She was too skinny, she needed to eat more so that she could be strong enough to compete and achieve her dreams./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Santana and Brittany naturally walked towards the Cheerios' table, but Quinn called over, "Guys, I have to make something right. You're welcome to join me." She jerked her head over to where the Glee club was sitting and smiled./p

p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn merely shook her head, "It's alright, San. I deserve this." She turned to face the entire table, quickly noting that Sam was absent. It didn't matter, she could make it up to him later "I'm sorry guys. I treated you horribly over the past few weeks. I know I had a pretty rough time, but that's not an excuse. The last time I went through a low patch, you were there for me, and I know you wanted to be there for me again this time but I shut you all out. I even threw slushies on you." Quinn hung her head at her last admission. "I know I can't make that up to you, but we only have a few weeks left and I want to try." She took a deep breath, "I spoke to Mr Schue earlier, and he said that I could re-join the New Directions for Nationals. But I wanted to ask you guys first. I wasn't there for sectionals, I know, and it's not really fair for me to just show up and take part of the glory when we win nationals. I just- will you let me be your friend again?" Quinn had spoken with so much emotion that she was trembling. She looked at all their faces, one by one, so vulnerable./p

p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn was leading her squad of Cheerios out on to the McKinley High's field. It turned out that the football team had extended practices for this week because it was the lead up to the final match of the season. How could Quinn have forgotten? They did this every year, and every year the Cheerios would watch, supporting their team through the gruelling 6-hour sessions. Of course Sam wasn't avoiding her. She needed to learn how to control her stupid insecurity, and the easiest place to start was with Sam. He was so good to her, such a good person. He loved her and he always saw the best in her. He helped her to see the best in herself./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"She climbed up the bleachers and shuffled all the way along, sitting down on a seat, whilst watching her team arrange themselves around her. Brittany and Santana on either side, the rest were above and below./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn watched the boys practicing plays. It wasn't looking great. Although she hated to admit it, they'd suffered a great loss at Max being cut. She actually hadn't known that he was off the team until Sam had told her the day before. She'd been avoiding him so actively that she hadn't noticed that he wasn't wearing his letterman jacket. She'd also instructed her Cheerios to form a barrier of gossip around her. Telling them that she didn't want to hear anything. Whilst they were obedient, they weren't really her friends and they only did her bidding because they were afraid of her. Sitting with the glee group at lunch had reminded her how much better friends were than minions. She still got on well with the Cheerios, but she didn't love them the way she loved the New Directions./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Max didn't deserve to be on the team, but the Titans had clearly taken a hit with his absence. p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn stood up, turning to face her squad. "Girls, get up! Our Titan's need us. So we're going to practice right next to them. p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"They looked over at each other, nodding, and both shouted "FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT!" starting off the Cheerios dance routine. p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"The Titans stopped to watch the Cheerios perform. Rewarding them with a round of applause when they finished in their pyramid. Quinn stood at the top, fists proudly in the air. She felt a lot more solid than a couple of weeks ago, but the one run through of the routine had really taken it out of her and she was really out of breath. She took a minute to compose herself, taking in the appreaciation of the rugby team and searching for Sam. She found him, locked eyes with the boy and smiled sweetly. Or at least, she thought she'd caught his eye, but he didn't return her smile. Instead, he was called away by Coach Beiste to restart their own drills. He probably just hadn't noticed./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;""Well done girls!" Quinn praised as their pyramid disbanded. "But it needs to be sharper, tighter. Every single one of us needs to be on form. No wobbles. Let's go again!"/p

p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;""Great, Q." Sam said shortly, "Look, I've got to have a shower before we leave. I'll meet you by my car okay?" He didn't give Quinn a chance to answer before he ran the rest of the way back to the changing rooms./p
p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%;"Quinn stopped still. What had just happened? She started walking again and decided to shrug it off. It had been a day since she'd seen Sam. Nothing bad could've happened since then, could it? If anything, he should love her even more now that she was back in Glee. Back to the girl that he first fell for. Quinn plastered a smile on her face and headed to her locker to grab her books and her dress, before heading to Sam's car. She busied herself with thinking about new cheer drills she could try to make the routine even better. But even so, she couldn't stop thinking that the selfish way she'd treated Sam in the morning had upset him inconsolably./p
