Enjoy!
Sakura wasn't how long she had been traveling. All she knew was that Aladdin, the young boy she met when she entered this world, was with her. They had been in the desert for who knows how long. The duo had recently met a friendly caravan where they rested a little, but that was days ago. Panting, Sakura felt her tongue beginning to dry up. Soon afterwards, she felt a nudge and looked down to see Aladdin who was holding a canteen of water. Sakura gratefully took the canteen and drank it, feeling the smooth, cold water rehydrate her mouth. Sighing contently, she handed back the canteen to Aladdin.
"Thank you Aladdin." Sakura said. "Make sure you keep hydrated too, OK?" Aladdin nodded and took a big gulp from the canteen. For some odd reason, whenever Sakura was in need of something, Aladdin could always tell what she desired. Though it was helpful since the brunette was often forgetful of her needs, Sakura also wanted to ensure that the boy was well, especially since he essentially saved her.
A small gust of wind came by them, lifting up Sakura's dress which she promptly put down. When she had arrived in this world, Sakura's outfit had changed. Now she wore a light pink strapless dress, the lower part of the dress split opened to reveal her right leg up to the thigh. Around her thigh was a small gold band with a card holder. On her feet were white slippers tinted pink, their satin laces wrapped around her legs. Part of Sakura's brown hair, which somehow lengthen down to her mid back, was in a small bun and held in place with a small pin that had a decorative pink cherry blossom on top. The sun shone down on the faux flower, causing it to glitter brightly. In the middle of the blossom was a pink diamond. Around her head was a sliver chain with another diamond which laid at the middle of her forehead. The diamond was glittering just like its pink counterpart. Sakura also had a small, decorative ankle bracelet around her left ankle. It was silver, with blue gemstones and black carvings decorating it. An eight pointed star could clearly be seen glowing on the biggest gemstone. Around her neck was a key with a star and a pair of wings. This was Sakura's wand in its key form. It was tied with a simple rope. Sakura proceeded to clutch the key, squeezing it.
"My wand..." Sakura thought sadly. A few nights ago, when Aladdin was sleeping, Sakura had tried to summon her wand. However, the key refused to change into its true form. She wondered if coming to this world had somehow stripped the magic from the wand and the cards. It was a valid theory, had the Sakura cards not been glowing. When Sakura had failed to summon her wand after many times, she became frustrated and had begun to cry when the cards surrounded her, glowing in reassurance. This convince Sakura that this was not the case, but it formed a new question-why couldn't she summon her wand? As she thought, Sakura barely processed that Aladdin was speaking to her.
"Sakura Nee-chan!" The boy called out to her. Sakura snapped back to reality. She turned and saw that Aladdin was trying to get her attention. Sakura gave a sheepish smile.
"Sorry Aladdin. What is it?" She asked. Having got her undivided attention, Aladdin smiled.
"Sakura Nee-chan, it's getting late and there is an oasis up ahead. Do you want to stop there?" He asked. Sakura looked ahead and saw a pool of water which was surrounded by an assortment of plant life. Seeing that the sun was already beginning it's descent down into the horizon, the idea of camping out in the oasis seemed ideal to her.
"Sure. After all, we have been traveling for a while now." She replied. With that the two quickly headed to their destination. When they had reached the oasis the sun had already set, the silver moon just peaking over the horizon. Sakura built a small fire using some dry twigs while Aladdin rummage around their supplies for food. Then they sat around the fire and ate, enjoying the cozy environment. After their modest meal, the two began to talk to past the time before they went to bed. As they talked, Sakura examined Aladdin closely. The boy wore a white turban with an oval red gem on the middle. He also wore baggy white pants and a blue vest. Bandages covered his chest, and the boy wore no shoes. Sakura couldn't help but mentally laugh. She recalled that she had tried to find a pair of shoes for him, but Aladdin didn't want them.
"I like feeling the ground with me bare feet!" Aladdin explained to her, laughing happily. After that, Sakura didn't bring up the conversation of shoes, but the brunette made sure there were no injuries on his feet. As Sakura continued to examine her companion, she saw the golden flute around his neck. The instrument was exquisitely made, yet this was the first one that Sakura saw that was made of gold. A glowing star was imprinted on the surface of the flute. The star was exactly like the one on her ankle bracelet. Aladdin noticed where Sakura was looking and smiled again.
"Sakura Nee-chan, I noticed you looking at the flute." Aladdin said. "Do you want to see something cool?" Although Sakura was embarrassed that he noticed her staring, curiosity won out and she nodded. Still smiling, Aladdin got up and proceeded to blow into the flute. What came next surprised Sakura. From out of the flute came a blue and muscular giant. It wore a white loincloth and where its head should be was the golden flute.
"Sakura Nee-chan, meet Ugo!" Aladdin introduced. Shocked, Sakura stared at Ugo. The brunette then vaguely recalled that when she came to this world, Aladdin had said that Ugo was the one who told him her name. Suddenly, Ugo's body became bright right, and a noticeable amount of steam rolled of his body. He crouched down and held his legs, looking quite frighten. Aladdin must have saw the look of confusion on her face because he began to explain.
"Sorry, he's quite nervous around pretty girls." Aladdin said. Sakura couldn't help but laugh out loud at this, surprising her companions.
"S-Sorry!" She apologized through her laughs. "I-Its just that...someo-one like him is ne-ervous around pretty girls?!" Then, Sakura took deep breaths and calmed herself. "It just seemed a little strange to me that someone as handsome as him would have problem with women." Then, Sakura paused. She only saw Ugo's body and not his head. So, why did she say that? Nevertheless, Sakura wasn't lying. Somewhere, in the back of her head, a familiar face was smiling at her... Ugo's blushing body grew a shade darker and more steam seemed to have protruded out. Sakura must have made him more nervous.
"Oh!" she exclaimed. "I didn't mean to make you more nervous. Maybe it's best if you go back into your flute...?" Right after she said that, Ugo's body became blue again and he waved his arms back and forth, as if to say no. Sakura raised her brow slightly. Ugo suddenly knelt on one knee and bowed to her, which shocked Sakura. He furthered shocked her as he held out one of his enormous fingers to her. Nervous, Sakura looked to Aladdin who nodded towards Ugo.
"Go ahead." Aladdin said. "He wants to shake your hand." Slowly, Sakura grasped Ugo's finger and shook it. Much to her surprise, he didn't become embarrassed again. Instead, his body motions seemed to indicate that he was quite please, even happy. After shaking hands (Or finger and hand), a sudden thought occurred to Sakura.
"Are there more like him?" Sakura asked Aladdin. The boy nodded.
"Yep!" he replied, "That's why I'm traveling with Ugo! We're trying to find all his friends." Just then, Sakura's ankle bracelet with the eight pointed star began to glow, blinding her. When she opened her eyes, there was yet another blue giant. This giant had a medium build, but he was just as muscular as Ugo was. Straight white hair flowed down his back, his bangs covering one of his eyes. Interestingly, the giant had deep purple eyes. White wolf ears twitched slightly on his head, its color matching the white wolf pelt tied around his waist. The giant swung it large white tail from side to side as though anxious. His gold earring and bracelet jingled as he looked around. Suddenly, his eyes fell on Sakura. Immediately his anxious expression was replaced with one of pure joy.
"Aini! Is that really you? How long has it been since we met?" He jubilantly asked. Sakura was shocked to say the least. What did the giant just call her?And why was he acting so friendly to someone he just met? However, he did look familiar to her. Why was that...? Immediately, Ugo jumped between the two and began waving his arms frantically, as if trying to communicate with the other giant. After watching his movements for awhile, the white haired giant frowned.
"What do you mean she doesn't know?" he questioned, "Surely-" The wolf-eared giant was cut off as Ugo waved even more frantically. The white haired giant sighed.
"Well..." he murmured. "if it's like this." He turned to Sakura and smiled once more.
"My apologies. You remind me of someone I once knew." He said. "My name is Andromalius, the Djinn of Truth and Loyalty; a wielder of Lightning and Thunder." Upon the introduction, Sakura grimaced. The feeling of familiarity returned to her. She definitely knew this giant, but why? Suddenly, Sakura's head began to hurt and she keeled over, clutching her head.
"My Lady!" Andromalius cried out. "What is-" Sakura began to scream.
"It hurts!" she yelled."Stop! Please, stop this pain!" Streams of scenes flew in her mind. A young teenager with blue braided hair and a younger boy with white hair were laughing, both of them reaching out towards her.
"Hurry up Aini!" The white haired boy laughed. "Or you're going be left behind!" The images faded and Sakura fell unconscious.
"Sakura Nee-chan!" Aladdin yelled out as he ran towards her. "What's wrong?!" Sakura, after suddenly falling over and screaming in pain, fell silent. Andromalius quickly picked her, holding her limply in his hands. As Aladdin got near her, Ugo stood in front him, blocking his way.
"Ugo!" Aladdin questioned. "What are you…?" The boy never finished the sentence when, all of the sudden, glowing cards began to fly from under Sakura's dress. The cards began to surround the brunette, causing Andromalius to place her on the ground. Immediately as he did so, the cards formed a protective sphere around the unconscious brunette.
"What on earth?" Andromalius murmured as he examined the cards. "What are these?" As the giant reached out to touch them, one of the cards glowed brightly and brought a gust of wind, throwing the Djinn backwards. Cursing, Andromalius held his ground, and soon the wind disappeared. However, the glowing card began to materialize. From it was a yellow fairy-like woman with long blonde hair. The hair was dressed high and fell forward into two strands. A pair of feathered, yellow wings protruded out of her back, covering her body. On her forehead was a green wing-like shape, placed on like as crown. The wind could clearly be seen surrounding her in the colors of green and yellow. The woman glared at Andromalius.
"You will not touch our Mistress." she warned, "Not while we are near her. I speak for all of us." The other cards began to glow brightly in response. Andromalius began to growl menacingly.
"So...it's you." He seethed out. "How dare you separate her and me?!" The fairy glared right back at Andromalius.
"Unlike you and your friends who chose to wait in this world," She began, "my sisters and I followed our Mistress. You have no right to be near her." The being turned around to where Sakura was and knelt down, gently stroke the sleeping girl's brown hair, as if to reassure her. Andromalius growled some more, but he made no visible movement towards her. Ugo, who was blocking Aladdin, stepped towards where the cards were. As he neared, the cards began to glow brightly again. The fairy turned her gaze up to Ugo and gave a harden glare. Ugo made some motions to communicate with her. After watching it, her gaze softened.
"I see. So that is why they did not follow us into that world...The fairy murmured. However, she still did not seem pleased. "But, that still does not excuse your comrades' behavior. Especially those three who claim to be the closest to the Mistress." The woman glared at Andromalius when she said this, the latter flinching slightly in response. Ugo's shoulders drooped at her answer. Then, he made more movement and pointed towards the confused Aladdin. The fairy looked and noticed the boy. Aladdin stared at her and watched as a glimmer of recognition arose her eyes. The fairy stood up and glided towards him. When she neared Aladdin, the fairy crouched down and put a hand on his cheek.
"So, this is the child." She stated. Aladdin stared at her in confusion.
"Miss?" He asked. "Do you know me?" Frowning slightly, she turned to Ugo and glared at him accusingly.
"Why has he not been informed?" She questioned. Ugo frantically made more gestures and the fairy sighed.
"Very well, I trust your judgement." She said. The fairy looked back at Aladdin. "Little child," she began, "we will trust our mistress to you. Take good care of her." Aladdin, although still confused, nodded. Smiling, she stood back up and turned to where Andromalius was, giving him a look. The Djinn, who never took his eyes off of her, growled again.
"What? Come to tell me to stay away from her?" He hissed. "Perhaps you won't forgive for not aiding the woman sooner, but surely you can agree that I want to protect her. Not only is she my friend, but now my King as well."
"King? Sakura is his King?" Aladdin thought. He turned to Ugo to ask about that, but he motioned for the boy to stay silent. The fairy sighed at that comment.
No." She answered. "Despite your actions, we know how much you and the others truly care for the Mistress and will protect her." Then, her gaze hardened. "But, I cannot forgive you. So I will also become a vessel of power as well..Andromalius stared at her in shock. Even Ugo seemed surprised. The blue Djinn once again tried to communicate with his motions, but the fairy cut him off.
"No." She firmly argued. "That is the condition that I want if Andromalius is to stay with her. I'm sure my three will agree as well." Ugo, looking conflicted, turned to Andromalius who gave a bitter laugh.
"So, that's your condition?" He asked. "Then so be it. It seems that even when we seem to have changed, we will never get along. Or perhaps it is because we will always be partly the same..." Aladdin frowned. What did the Djinn mean that they will always be partly the same? From what the boy could tell, they looked nothing alike. The fairy, who had always seemed hostile towards Andromalius, began to look at him with melancholy and sadness.
"Please, do not say thatShe said. "It is simply due to our different views on how to best protect our Mistress. Andromalius, though our circumstances were forced, I never regretted the small bond we had with each other." Andromalius fell silent at this response. The fairy return back to Sakura's side and held her hand out towards her.
"Wait." Aladdin said. The woman turned her gaze towards the child.
"What is your name, Onee-san?" Aladdin asked. The fairy smiled kindly at him..
"I bear many names in my lifetime. She replied."But you may call me Windy. One of the elemental guardians that now reside in the cards my Mistress possesses." After saying, Windy began to glow brightly, causing Aladdin to shield his eyes.
When the light was gone and Aladdin opened his eyes again, Windy had disappeared, along with the cards. Aladdin quickly ran over to Sakura to make sure she was alright, sighing when he realized she was fine. A soft light caught his eyes as when he began to inspect her. Aladdin realized that it was coming from the diamond on her head attire. There was a strange symbol glowing on it. Aladdin noticed a presence and saw that it was Andromalius.
"Mr. Andromalius," He asked, "what is this symbol?" Andromalius looked and gave a strange smile.
"That, Aladdin, is a cherry blossom, and the item in which Windy has decided to make as her vessel." He replied. Aladdin looked back at the symbol. He couldn't help but think how pretty the blossom was.
"Ugh, my head." Sakura groaned. When did she even fall asleep? For some reason, the brunette cosn't remember what happened last night. As she began to stand up, Sakura saw Aladdin run towards her.
"Sakura Nee-chan!" he shouted, "You shouldn't be up! You need to rest!" Just as he said that, Sakura's legs buckled underneath her.
"Whoa!" She yelled. As the girl braced for impact, she felt something grab her. Sakura looked behind and saw a white haired djinn with purple eyes had caught her with his fingers, frowning slightly at her.
"My Lady." He said. "You shouldn't be up and about, especially after the incident last night." As soon as he said those words, Sakura's memories returned.
"That's right, I fainted after meeting Andromalius!" Sakura thought. Then, she smiled at the Djinn.
"Thank you, Andromalius." Sakura said. "I appreciate you helping me." Andromalius broke into a small smile.
"Of course, My Lady." He replied. "But do take care for now on." Sakura nodded and realized something.
"Hey, Andromalius." The brunette said. "Just call me Sakura, ok?" Andromalius looked surprised, but he soon nodded.
"Very well, Sakura." He murmured. Sakura smiled when he said her name. Andromalius bower to her.
"I shall disappear for now." The Djinn said. Then, to her surprise, Andromalius turned to smoke and returned into her anklet. Soon afterwards, the eight pointed star began to glow softly. Shaking her head, Sakura ran towards Aladdin who scolded the older female slightly for scaring him. After his scolding, the two soon continued along with their journey.
Until next time! RR Guys!
