Enjoy!
With Aladdin and Sakura held hostage, the others had no choice but to follow Jamil and his slaves. Syaoran snarled at the man.
"This guy…to think I have to follow him around again." He seethed. Seeing the frustrated look on Syaoran's face, Alibaba put his hand on the male's shoulder, surprising the Li.
"Hey, don't forget. He's got Sakura and Aladdin. We can't do anything or else he might hurt them." Alibaba whispered. Syaoran frowned but nodded in understandings. Alibaba then continued to whisper. "That's why, until we can free them, just do as he says." With that, the blonde removed his hand and continued walking ahead. Syaoran sighed when he noticed Tomoyo walking in silence next to him, her head bowed down.
Walking slowly so Tomoyo caught up to him, Syaoran whispered, "What's wrong…? You look so upset." Tomoyo slowly lifted up her head to reveal tears pooling in the corners of her eyes.
"I'm so useless. When that brute took Sakura and Aladdin away, I did nothing but stand there." She whimpered. Sniffling, Tomoyo buried her face into her hands. "I'm just a burden. I couldn't do anything to help out. I really am the worst…" Syaoran stared at Tomoyo before he gently embraced her into a hug. Tomoyo stopped walking in surprise.
"Syaoran…?" She asked. The brunette looked encouragingly at her.
"Listen. You may not be able to fight or use magic, but you do have one thing that Kero, Sakura, or I don't have." Syaoran said. "And that's your enthusiasm. Your cheerfulness and the ability to look brightly on everything keeps us going." Then he let go of Tomoyo. "Don't forget that, Ok? And smile again." Tomoyo stared at Syaoran before smiling slightly.
"Thank you…Syaoran." She whispered. Suddenly, Jamil's voice ranged out.
"Hey! You two! Get over here! We've arrived at the next challenge." He barked. Scowling, Syaoran, with Tomoyo at his heels, ran to where the voice resonated from. Upon arriving, the two saw a gate filled with columns of fire that switched on and off. In front of the flaming gate was a stone slab with strange symbols on it. Jamil went to examine it. A confused look came upon his face.
"Um…the…unknown before you is…um…" he stuttered. As Jamil struggled to decipher the text, Syaoran and Tomoyo took peek at the tablet, along with Kero who lifted the flap of his hiding spot slightly. While the symbols made no sense and confused Kero, Syaoran and Tomoyo could perfectly read it much to their shock. The two looked at each other wide eyed.
"How can I read this…I never even seen this language before!" Syaoran thought. Tomoyo mthought similarly as well.
"Dance with the tornado, scale the dragon's jaw, to reach the truth. The truth can be found in the jaw of the dragon. You'll find everything before you reach the dragon's tail…What does that mean?" Tomoyo wondered. Meanwhile, Jamil still had not deciphered the text. Sakura, who was still in the grasp of Goltas, nearly rolled her eyes.
"Seriously, he hasn't figured it out yet?" Sakura thought. Though it greatly surprised Sakura that she could read it, she was more concerned with the trap itself. "You'd have to be really skilled to evade those pillars of fire…who can do that?" Suddenly, Alibaba spoke out loud.
"Dance with the tornado, scale the dragon's jaw, to reach the truth. All can be found at the tail of the dragon." He said. Everyone stared at himc especially Syaoran, Sakura, and Tomoyo who realized the change in his words.
"The last part is different! Is it by accident or on purpose?" Syaoran wondered. Jamil stared at Alibaba.
"Well…how did you know how to read the Torran language? Only important or rich people can get that education…" He questioned. Alibaba laughed nervously.
"Ah…I taught myself. I heard that the dungeons all have that language inside." The blonde vaguely answered. Jamil raised an eyebrow.
"I see…" The man murmured. Brandishing his sword, Jamil suddenly stabbed Alibaba who cried in pain. Sakura and Tomoyo gasped while Syaoran growled. Clutching his bleeding arm, Alibaba looked at Jamil who smirked. "Since you're so confident, why don't try the trap out?" Finally losing the last of his restraint, Syaoran launched himself at Jamil, but was held back by Tomoyo. Alibaba took a look at the gate before sprinting into it, much to the shock of everyone. With relative ease, he evaded the swirling fire and made his way to the end. Upon seeing a dragon statue with its mouth opened, Alibaba plunged his hand into it and turned a switch, effectively turning off the fire. Immediately afterwards, the floor he was standing lit on fire. Alibaba yelled in surprised for he was promptly consumed by the flames. Tomoyo's eyes widened in horror
"Alibaba!" Tomoyo screamed out. Sakura and Kero gasped in shock. Syaoran quickly rushes to rescue Alibaba, but the fire soon faded away, leaving only ashes flying in the breeze. Syaoran stood there stock still when Jamil suddenly laughed.
"Haha! Now we can proceed!" He shouted. As Jamil began to walk, he is quickly blocked by Syaoran who glares at him.
"How…could you? I knew you were a horrible person, but this?!" Syaoran snarled and pointed to the spot Alibaba previously stood on. "You are a monster!" Jamil smirked.
"And what are you going to do about it?" He taunted. "Not only do you have a weapon, but I can easily end your pathetic lives!" Suddenly, a bone-chilling scream pierced the air. Everyone turned towards the scream. It came from Tomoyo who had collapsed onto the ground. Her body began twitching erratically as she continued screaming.
"G-Gah! No!! I-I ca-an't!" She screamed. "I-I-! W-We-!" Syaoran tried to rush over to Tomoyo when he sensed a dark and dangerous aura beginning to appear on Tomoyo. He also noticed that air surrounding her seemed to shimmer, as if made by invisible frantic creatures. Out of the corners of his eyes, he saw small green vines appear around Tomoyo. Suddenly, the shot up from the ground, carrying her as the Daidouji gave a final scream.
"We'll never let it happened again!" Tomoyo shouted as the vines pushed her upwards, wrapping around her body and legs. The bag that held Kero fell from Tomoyo's arm and onto the ground, the Guardian lifting up the flap slightly to see what had just happened. Sakura and Syaoran stared in horror as their friend was held in the air. No one dared to say a word as the vines continued grow. Suddenly, Tomoyo's head dipped downward and the vines stopped growing. Chills ran down the spines of everyone began to hear quiet giggles that soon grew in volume coming to an abrupt halt. With wide eyes, the people in this group watched as Tomoyo slowly lifted her head back up, a sinister smirk on her face. Her eye color had changed-one was pink and the other was brown, both dull and lifeless.
"So you think that you can end us, do you?" She repeated. "What a naughty boy you've been, Jamil. We'll just have to teach you a lesson now, won't we?" Jamil, shaking, took a step back and fell down in terror as Tomoyo descend back onto the ground, the vines still wrapped around her as she approached him. Sakura looked at her friend in shock.
"What on earth has happened to Tomoyo? I never seen her like this!" Sakura thought worriedly. "It's like she's a completely different person! No...maybe persons?" Syaoran and Kero didn't know how to react to Tomoyo's sudden change. Even Morgiana and Goltas were stunned, not even moving to save their masters Jamil tried to crawl back, but Tomoyo was faster. With a snap of her fingers, the more vines shot up from the ground and stab into the ground behind Jamil, preventing him from escaping. Tomoyo covered her lips with a hand as she gave another sinister laugh.
"It's funny how you think you can escape from us." Tomoyo said. The vine wrapped around the Daidouji's arm slowly moved up and wrapped around her neck, caressed her cheek much fondness. Tomoyo petted the vine in return. "We both agree that a fitting punishment for all that…is death, don't you think?" Suddenly, more green vines erupted behind her, casting an eerie shadow upon Tomoyo. "This is what you get for hurting our loved ones!" As the vines descended onto Jamil, a voice cried out to Tomoyo.
"Tomoyo! Stop this!" Sakura begged. Immediately, the vines halted. Tomoyo looked at Sakura and the light returned to her colored eyes.
"W-we...I-I..." Tomoyo stuttered. Suddenly, the vines around Tomoyo and above Jamil returned back into the ground. The Daidouji then clutched her head in pain.
"W-We are s-sorry..." Tomoyo whispered when her eyes changed back into its orginal color. Blinking her eyes, Tomoyo groggily looked around.
"I, Um…What happened?" Tomoyo asked. Then, she saw Jamil on the floor, shaking. The Daidouji also saw Sakura and Syaoran look at her with concern and worry. Morgiana stood there, shaking slightly. Goltas, although most of his face was covered by a mask, showed a discreet look of terror in his only eye. Tomoyo covered her mouth
"Oh my…did I do something?" She asked. Suddenly, Tomoyo felt dizzy and fainted, but was quickly caught by Syaoran.
"Hey! Tomoyo! Are you OK? Say something!" He asked. Unfortunately, Tomoyo had already fallen unconscious. By then, Jamil had calmed down and stood up.
"Eh hem…As I was saying before, there will be dire consequences if you don't listen to me." He said. Jamil walked through the gate and looked back.
"Let's not mention this little incident to the Magi, OK? Or this time, someone will die." He warned. With that, Jamil continued down the gate with Goltas. Morgiana looked worriedly at Tomoyo before following her master. Frowning, Syaoran carefully carried Tomoyo and followed.
We see a new side to Tomoyo...What is this power that she displayed? Is Alibaba truly dead? What happens next? Until next time...
tomoyo0000001: Yeah, it's just how the events fold. But hopefully this chapter makes up for it.
lunardusk: Thanks!
Edit Note: I decided to change Tomoyo's personality transformation. Instead of calmly falling to the influence of the souls in her, she undergoes a violent phase. This is to emphasize the regret, sadness, and anger from both souls in being unable to save those that they love which resulted in Tomoyo's darker side from Alibaba's "death".
Until Next Time! RR!
