Chapter 23 Doubt
Elsword's trying to find a way to make Elesis remember, but he can't seem to find a way to do so.
"Els, I think we really should wait and see. You won't get anything if you just try something aimlessly."
"I understand, Rena. But..."
Rena hugged Elsword from behind.
"I understand, Els... I know you really want to get back your long lost twin sister. But at this point, efficiency is the best. Don't waste your energy in trying to prove something that is not certain yet."
Rena is right.
Elesis being Elsword's long lost twin sister is just his assumption alone.
He got no proof that can prove her being his real sister.
That's why he's so frustrated.
"... I guess you're right. I will wait and see for now."
Rena smiles after hearing his words.
"That being said, I need to have my photo session now. Do you want to join?"
"Ah, well... I guess I will accompany you."
"But you don't want to be the model, right?"
"You know it."

And so, they're off to the photo session's location.

"I've been thinking, don't you think it's about time for you to be a model, Elsword?" Vanessa looked like she's running out of patience. But she somehow still managed to keep her cool.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I think this job is a little too much for me."
"Well, don't force him, manager... You know it's not good to force someone, right?"
Vanessa sighs.
"You sure are taking it easy, don't you know that you've got a rival now?"

Rena is dumbfounded.
"Take a look at this." Vanessa pulls out a magazine out of her bag.

"This... Elesis!?" Rena shouted the moment she saw that familiar face.
Even Elsword can't keep his cool after hearing that name.

"No, I'm not. You seem to be acquainted with this model..."

Elsword turns his face away, trying to fake his cool.
But Vanessa can't be fooled that easily.
"As you can see, this new model just appeared recently and she's kind of in the spotlight among the models now. If we don't make a move faster things will be too late to settle."
"... That's why you're trying to get me and Rena together as models?"
"I'm glad you're quick to catch up, Elsword."
"..."
Elsword ponders about it for a moment.
Then...
"... Fine, I will be a model too. Together with Rena, of course."
"Els? Are you sure?"
Rena looks worried.
It makes Elsword smile a little.
"It's fine, Rena. Besides... I think I need to go through this path if I want to understand things better."
"If you say so..."
She still looks unsatisfied, but she respected Elsword's decision.
He is old enough to make the decisions for himself after all.

"Yes, I need to know about Elesis. I want to know why is she working as a model now instead of studying..."
To Elsword, Elesis is the model that he has always trying to catch up.
Seeing how she ended up as a model stirs the curiosity in him.
