"What offer?"

Felicity smiled a little wider at Bree's curiosity, noticing how the newborn's eyes would keep wandering to Demetri as the elder vampire refused to take his own attention away from her. Felicity knew that look from her own experience with the three kings. Mates and for that reason, she could not fail to convince Bree to join them, for Demetri's sake.

"Before I explain this offer, let me just explain the basis of it. My own gift is pretty simple, aside from the telekinesis, I am able to lock onto the future of an individual and see what is to come. I have never failed in this and that is something I pride myself upon. But when I tried to lock onto the future of Victoria and her newborn army, I found myself unable to lock onto you. At first I thought it may have been an outside influence, but if that were the case then it would have affected all the other members of Victoria's group"

A perplexed gleam shone in Felicity's eye as she spoke, gaze never leaving Bree as the newborn vampire seemed to struggle with her desire to listen or give her attention to Demetri.

"And that's when I realised. It wasn't an outside influence that stopped my ability from locking onto you, it was you. And this is where my offer comes in to play: Join us, Miss Tanner, and we shall give you a place to call home, somewhere safe where you can learn more about your new life and all it holds for you... I am sure that Demetri, along with all of the Volturi, would be happy to have you by our side"

Bree was about to reply, a hopeful gleam in her eyes at the promise placed before her, a chance to finally have home that offered safety and someone to give her the love she had been missing in both of her lives, but a hand moved around her shoulders and forced her backwards.

Felicity pinched the bridge of her nose as the next set of events transpired before her eyes rapidly. Demetri's lips curled back at the sight of Edward Cullen touching Bree, at the sight of him forcibly moving her, and flitted rapidly too her side before pulling her towards him and jumping a decent distance away, snarling at the younger vampire as he sheltered Bree from the threat her thought was being posed.

"I do believe, Mr. Cullen, that you have played a duff card here. Can you not sense the atmosphere between the two of them? Touching her like that may well nearly have caused Demetri to rip your arm off for touching Miss Tanner. Please, do tell why you felt the need to do so? We are not here to harm her"

Jane's words were laced with venom as an angelic smile graced her lips, awaiting the reply as both Alec and Felix blocked the path to the pair.

"She would not be happy with your coven! She's young and still has a chance to make this life work for her. If she joined you then she'd be chained to the Volturi for the rest of her immortality and stuck doing their dirty work!"

"Well aren't you a self righteous little boy. The Volturi are the law holders of our kind, we may have to make difficult decisions but it is for the good of us all. Nothing more, nothing less. We only accept the best into our ranks and we believe that, with proper guidance rather than your 'families' slap dash techniques, Bree can be one of the best"

Demetri was still snarling as he shot his reply, keeping Bree held tight to him as she looked up at him with wide eyes. Was there really any competition in this decision for her? She'd never felt so safe as she did with Demetri in this moment, like he would gladly walk through fire if it meant keeping her from harm. Carlisle sighed as he stepped forward to defuse the situation, not liking where the argument may end if it continued. Especially not with two humans involved.

"Now now. I don't really believe this is our decision to make, is it? Bree, what would you rather do?"

Felicity Smiled at his words, moving slightly forward to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cullen family leader and looking to Bree as she weighed up her options. She had always respected Carlisle, even as a child when he came to visit the three kings, for his level headed behaviour and the fact that he always spoke sense. She would not be offended if Bree declined the offer, but she knew it would be unlikely, not with Demetri in the picture. And god only knew how curious she was to learn the truth of Bree's ability.

Bree seemed to think for a moment, looking between the Cullen's, the Volturi and Demetri personally before coming to her resolution, a small smile coming to her lips and a fresh light of hope burning within her eyes as she spoke.

"I'll go with the Volturi... I think it's the best place for me now"

Felicity would be lying if she said a jolt of joy hadn't shot through her, or that the sight of Demetri smiling so widely as he hugged Bree tightly to him as she hugged him back hadn't made her feel almost like a proud little sister to the older vampire.

It was a good feeling to see that she wasn't the only one learning what it meant to find true love.

He slinked through the shadows, eyes watching constantly for any sign of life in the underground parking lot as he looked out for the car he needed. There was nobody in sight, everyone seeming to be busy in the clock tower above and no security guard in sight for the moment to stop his actions. He knew that a guard was employed for these cars but he seemed to have gone on his designated lunch break. Good.

"Where is it? It can't be that difficult to find a Morgan Plus 4 soft top"

He swiped a hand down his face, his heart racing with the panic that he may be caught before his task was done, when a sleep motor caught his eye. With its roof rolled down and the beautiful black paintwork gleaming in the artificial lighting, the car was a beautiful sight. Apparently his target had only had it back for a month or less after it had had some work done to get the classic car running once more.

He slinked up close and popped the bonnet as quietly as he could before setting to his task. He only hoped that he could move fast enough to remain undetected.
