NATHAN'S POV

I watched as Haley ran out of the room. She was crying, I guess she didn't want to deal with this right now. I turned back to look at him, my son, laying their in that hospital bed. One side pale, the other red with blood. He was all scratched up. I felt my heart drop. Though I just found out about him, I was in love with him. His sandy blonde hair just my mother's, and Haley's mother's. I went in and sat down at his bedside. There was a picture by his bed. Lifting it up, I saw that he had my eyes.

TAYLOR'S POV

I walked in to see Nathan holding a picture of Jamie. He turned at me and started to say something, but stopped. He started again.

"I'm sorry... I just thought you were Haley. Where did she go?" He asked in the softest voice.

"I'm not sure... would you like to know his name?" Nathan just shook his head yes. I could tell he was holding back tears.

"James Lucas Scott." I said as I saw the happiness in Nathan.

"She used my last name." He said with a smile.

LUCAS'S POV

I walked in the hospital with my wife, Brooke. We had Peyton and her husband Jake with us. My mom, Andy, and my little sister Lilly were by my side. The rest of the group was coming tomorrow. Now matter how many years it's been since we last saw Haley, we were not about to leave her to deal with this alone.

We walked up to the front desk.

"Hello. May I help you?" Asked the nurse.

"Yes, we are looking for James Scott or James James." I said, hoping that he would be the first one not the second.

"James Scott. Mother: Haley James." She said with a slight smile. We all walked towards were she pointed. Standing at the door, we saw Nathan and Taylor. She is Haley's older sister, even though Haley has always acted like the older of the two. I came out of my thoughts when I heard Nathan say, "She used my last name."

I stepped in the room. Both heads turned to me.

"Hi Nate...God, he's beautiful." I said smiling at the little child I might never hear call me uncle.

"Yeah, he has to be... because I made that." Nathan said, smiling as a tear ran down the side of his face.

HALEY'S POV

I came back to the room, seeing everyone there. I wasn't sure how I was going to deal with all of them. I haven't seen them in so long. Jamie is seven now, so it has to be about eight years since I last talked to one of them. I walked into the room and over to his other side, not looking at anyone them.

"Hales... why?" I heard Nathan ask me, but how was I suppose to answer that question? I thought you didn't deserve to know the son you never wanted? No, I couldn't say that. I guess this is the next best answer.

"I was scared... Nathan, you said that you didn't want kids. I thought that this might be the best thing for him... you should be proud he is a basketball lover like you," I started to choke up, "That's how this happened. Over a basketball." I broke down right there in front of everyone.

I felt a hand on my hand. i looked up and Jamie was staring back at me.

"Momma... how... how are these people?" Jamie said weakly.

"this is your uncle Lucas, Aunt Brooke, Aunt Karen, and Aunt Lilly. This is also your Aunt Karen's boyfriend, Andy." I told him as I pointed at them.

"But who is this?" He said with a little more straight then last time.

NATHAN'S POV

I saw Haley start to say something but couldn't. I finally opened my mouth to tell him.

"I'm your father." I said as his little eyes lit up.

"You're my daddy... where have you been? Is it because you don't love me or momma anymore? Is that why you haven't been around?" Jamie asked me, and it just broke my heart. He was right thought. At least part of it was right. I did walk out on them, but not because I didn't love her or this son that I never knew until now. I looked at him, and shock my head.

"No," I said softly, "that's not it. I love your mom very much. the same goes for you. It just took me awhile to realized that this is what i wanted." I said, more to Haley then to James.

I lifted my head to look her in the eyes. After a few seconds Haley turned her head away. I knew that she was hurt. I know I should have been more up for a family. then again I should be mad at her for not telling me, but yet I just couldn't. Not with him lying there in the hospital, knowing that I could have prevented this.

"Haley, can I talk to you outside while Jamie gets to know the uncle he was named after." Haley looked at Luke and smiled, then she turned her head back to me. I was surprised to find I was holding my breathe. She nodded and we both stood up.

PEYTON'S POV

I looked at the boy they called Jamie just lying there in bed. He was awake but still stuck to the bed. Being pregnant for the second time I know what it feels like to see your child near death. Jenny was sick once and it was bad. She was eighteen months at the time.

I came back to the real world seeing doctors surround Jamie. They were loosing him. They must of not got all the blood stopped that needed to be. This was the last thing that Haley are Nathan needed. He has only said a few words to his son, and right now he is on his death bed.
