Chapter 3

Recap

When Su Jin entered her room the first thing she did was fall on to the bed, her body sinking into the soft, thick covers as all her muscles relaxed. Su Jin somehow got the covers from beneath her and placed it over herself as she decided to take a long nap. The past two days she hadn't been able to sleep. First day because she had been so nervous about returning and yesterday because a certain someone just couldn't stay out of her mind.

At least she wouldn't have to worry about bumping into Choi Young Do for around a week.

Choi Young Do straightened his suit as he stepped out of the car and made his way towards the front entrance. A middle-aged man hurriedly making his way towards him, a file tightly clutched in his hands.

"Sir, here are the files you wanted and we have prepared the royal suite for your stay."

Choi Young do raised an eyebrow as he took the files from the man, "I thought the royal suite had been booked already."

"Kuge(that is..) the guest changed her mind when she came to check-in." The man said nervously as he avoided eye contact.

"But it was paid in advance and there are no refunds for such short notice" Choi Young spoke as he continued to walk.

"The guest had said she didn't mind paying that price, she just wanted a normal room."

"Did anyone ask her what was lacking that she would want a normal room when she had already paid for the royal suite?"

Choi Young Do had stopped walking by this time and was directly addressing the man in front of him to which the man replied with a meek 'no'.

"I suggest you get someone on that." Choi Young Do said as he once again continued making his way through the lobby and towards the elevators.

Who in their right mind would pay the price of a royal suite and yet take a normal room?

No matter which angle he looked at it from, it just did not make sense to him.

Su Jin made her way around the room grabbing her phone and other essentials as she prepared for a quick sight-seeing of the area around the hotel. It had been two days since she got here and not once had she left her room, let alone the hotel. She was content with just lounging in bed and watching tv or even just sleeping.

Sleep, clearly wasn't something she got very often.

She had decided to get out of hibernation and assess the views and selling points of the hotel's locations.

She did come here to 'work' after all.

Su Jin made her way down the hallway and towards the elevators on her level, the second highest level, below the royal suite. The concierge had probably given her a room on this level to compensate for still paying for the royal suit.

She noticed that there were already quite a few people waiting at the elevators. Just as she came to a standstill near the elevator doors, the 'ding' of the elevator was heard and the doors opened. People shuffled their way in, leaving barely any space.

Su Jin took a few steps back as she decided to wait till the elevator came back up.

"Aren't you getting on?'

"Ah gwenchansumnida." she replied as the person shrugged, the doors closing on her.

Eventually she got on to the elevator and quickly shuffled her way out of the elevator once it reached the ground floor, making her way through the lobby and towards the main entrance of the hotel.

"Isn't he so cool?"

"I heard he's never had a girlfriend."

"Is that even possible?"

"hokshi (perhaps)... does he like men?"

"Aish...what a waste for us ladies."

"Like you could ever get him."

"Isn't he staying in the top level?"

Su Jin cracked a smile as she walked past the workers that were conversing together, wondering who this 'superstar' was that had just arrived at their hotel.

She was probably going to just take a few snapshots of the surrounding area and anything interesting before heading back to her room.

"So has anyone found out why our guest had a change of heart?" Young Do questioned as he held the desk phone to his ear.

"We did send someone, but no one answered the door"

"Twesseo(never mind), I'll do it"

"Animida, uri ga...(No, we can..)"

"What's the room number?"

"Ah de, it's under the name Park Su Jin and it's room 4021."

"Park…. Su Jin?"

"De.."

Choi Young Do could feel his pulse beating against his skin, the blood rushing through his veins as he silently held the phone to his ear. After a few more seconds of silence, Choi Young Do made a curt reply and placed the phone back in its original position.

Did he hear it correctly? Was she actually here? It seems that she always shows up when he least expects it. Wait, it could be someone else…. After all he had just met her a few days ago, right? What if that women wasn't Su Jin but just looks like Su Jin? It's not like he had asked her name. What if this woman is the real Su Jin?

You would think he would have the common sense to not react like this to a simple name, but because of the party a few days ago, he couldn't get that woman, nor that name out of his head.

Choi Young Do abruptly stood up from his chair as he made his way out of the room. He needed to find out immediately, if it was really her.

Could this Su Jin and the woman he thought was Su Jin, be the same?

Choi Young Do felt his stomach clenching as he made his way out of his room and towards the elevators. Something lodged in his throat that he could neither swallow nor puke out. As he stepped of the elevator, he realised that he couldn't recall the entire room number, he could only remember the '4' but he didn't want to call and ask for the… somehow that seemed a little embarrassing to him.

"urgh chajinna (I'm annoyed)." Choi Young Do muttered as he let out a heavy breath of air.

Maybe if he walked past the numbers he would remember which one. If that didn't work then he would eventually result to calling.

Su Jin made her way down the hallway towards her room as she flipped through the photos of the surrounding scenery that she had gotten while she was outside. As she got closer to her room she noticed a young man in the hotel's uniform standing at her door.

"Can I help you?" Su Jin asked as she stood in front of her door.

"Park Su Jin-shi?"

"Ne" she replied giving a slight nod of her head

"This is for you. The manager has invited you to a dinner payed by the hotel in order to compensate for the suite." The young man said as he handed Su Jin a small card.

Su Jin gently pushed the card away from her and back to the young man, "It's fine, it was my own choice to change suites. There is no need."

"He insisted that you accept"

Su Jin tentatively took the card as the young man bowed and left. She unlocked her door and walked in, deciding to take this opportunity to assess the hotel's restaurant. She had approximately one and a half hours to get ready.

Choi Young Do could feel the sweat collecting in his palms as he made his way on to the elevator, heading for the restaurant. He was so nervous to see if this Su Jin was the Su JIn.

What if it really is her? What if it's not?

Did he want it to be her?

Too many questions he didn't know the answer to, were running through his mind as he made his way through the restaurant doors. He walked up to the counter and asked the waiter where Park Su Jin had been seated, only to be pointed to the back of a young lady looking out the window that she was seated by.

He couldn't see her face but that didn't stop his breath from hitching and the blood pounding in his ears as he hesitantly walked closer. Her hair lay spread along her back as she sat in a red dress, her hands gently folded on the table.

He stood at her table facing her as he addressed the woman, "Park Su Jin-shi..".

Her head snapped in his direction, her eyes wide and body completely still as she looked up at him.

It was the same woman from the party!

Everything was screaming to him that this woman was 'her'.

There was no other explanation as to why this woman in front of him, was reacting in this way to him every time they met. But he needed confirmation from her before he could do anything.

"Do you remember me? … we met at the party."

We met 5 years ago

The woman in front of him blinked rapidly before looking away for a second, "yes… you helped me before I fell."

He wasn't sure if it was the dim lighting of the restaurant but he thought he saw a little colour rising to her cheeks.

"Well, what a coincidence, I'm currently managing this hotel so I came down to let our gracious guest know that we appreciate you, allowing us to compensate for the room arrangements. Since we are acquaintances, would you want some company during this dinner?"

Choi Young Do really hoped she would say yes

0ooooOoooo0

What is going on? Why is Choi Young Do here?

Su Jin couldn't get her head around the fact that he was standing right in front of her, asking her if he could sit and have a meal with her. Her brain was screaming at her no, that nothing good would come of it and yet her heart was softly humming at his proximity, begging to be in his presence just a little longer. She needed to get a hold of herself since this probably won't be the last time they meet.

She was to be an heiress and she needed to act like one especially if Choi Young Do was going to keep showing up in her life like this. She didn't have the time to be shy or flustered.

"The real question is, are you sure you want my company?"

He raised an eyebrow in question, "And why wouldn't I?"

"Well I'm sure you have many to choose from" Su Jin suggested as she tilted her chin in the general direction of the other guests, particularly the females who kept glancing his way.

"Well I choose you." He says without hesitation as he pulls the chair to sit down, raising his hand to call over a waiter.

Su Jin pretended to look out the window as she instead stared at the reflection of the man sitting in front of her while he talked to the waiter, unaware of her gaze. Caught up in her own thoughts of what he was doing here, she missed him calling her name and was only brought back at the light touch on her hands. She snapped her head towards him, raising her eyebrows in question.

"I was just wondering what brought you to this hotel and why you didn't want the original room you booked?"

Su Jin mentally debated whether to just be honest or slightly distort the truth.

"Well I came to assess the hotel and I didn't want to draw any attention to myself by staying in the royal suite, but I guess that back fired considering I'm at this compensation dinner right now." She said giving a small smile.

"Assess the hotel?... well since I saw you at the party…. I'm assuming you work for Daijin Corporations then?"

Su Jin bit her lip at his simple deduction, resisting a smile as she nodded her head at his question.

Well she did 'work' for Daijin corps.

"So what about you? What is Choi Young Do, the heir to Zeus Hotels, doing here?"

She regretted the moment his name left her lips as she watched him raise an eyebrow, tilting his head a smirk formed on his lips. The same wolfish expression that she had seen years ago adorned his face as he watched her with an intensity that caught her breath.

"Well first of all, I'm honoured that you know who I am. And I think it only courtesy that you tell me a bit about yourself…. since you already know about me?" Choi Young Do said as he leaned back in his chair, his arms folded across his chest. The smirk still in its place as he watched her, amusement clear in his expression.

"There's really nothing to say." Su Jin said, shrugging her shoulders, hoping that he would just let go of the topic.

"Come on, I'm sure there's something. What hakyeo(school) you went to? What are your hobbies? What you do at Daijin? ….If you have a namjachingoo (boyfriend)?"

Oho this boy…. Is messing with the wrong person.

Su Jin relaxed as she too lent back into her seat after noticing an escape route from this conversation.

"Oh? And what would you do if I said I did?" Su jin challenged as she watched him, the momentary tense in his body catching her eye.

A/N: I totally forgot about this story but recently someone messaged me about it and I figured why not just finish it. It's been quite a while since I've written so it could be bad. No promises.

Tbh I just want to write about sweet moments between young do and su jin haha

Well on with the story.
