The computer screen was lit up, like every day this week; I was working on the kira case with ryuzaki. I heard rather than saw ryuzaki get out of his chair and start walking out of the room, heading for the kitchen, most likely getting more sweets. Suddenly there was a sharp tug on my wrist reminding me of my current position." Come on light I'm hungry" he said with his usual innocent look on his face. I looked at him thinking what to say to this, I really didn't want to get up now, but yet again I looked at him his eyes not innocent at all but reflecting his determination." Fine" I sighed giving in; there was no arguing with him like this. "Let's go then" he stated heading to the door without further delay practically dragging me across the room. "Slow down ryuzaki" I yelled struggling to catch up, he sure was in a hurry for some reason today.
When we finally made it to the kitchen he predictably went straight for the sweets. "You know, one day those sweets are going to give you diabetes" I stated smiling slightly. He shrugged heading for the table pulling me along with him. He had grabbed a piece of cake, same as always. He looked up at me staring at the cake and I just as quickly turned away, embarrassed to be caught staring. "Raito-kun, if you wanted some than all you had to do was ask" he said as sweetly as always offering me a piece of cake. Now that he mentioned it I was hungry so without thinking I reached toward the cake slice, stuck my fork in and took a small bite. "Thanks ryuzaki" I said quietly. He shrugged and went back to eating.
Minutes later he was finished with the cake and headed towards the trash can. A familiar tug pulled at my wrist and without thinking I stood up to follow ryuzaki. The more I thought about it the more I was starting to like these hand cuffs. Sure it was inconvenient at time but its nice having someone near who isn't always out to get you, someone you can relate to. Lost in my thoughts I didn't notice ryuzaki start to walk away. Suddenly, there was a hard yank on my wrist, not expecting this, I lost my balance and went tumbling down, right on top of ryuzaki.
We both laid there for a moment stunned but after realizing what had happened we both quickly got up. We both turned away from each other but not before I saw ryuzaki blush deep red, I felt my cheeks doing the same. In that moment I realized two things…one ryuzaki was more than a friend and two, things were about to get real complicated.
