Chapter 14

The next day Troy woke up with Ryan sleeping against him, his arm was hung over the blonds much smaller waist line Troy could hear the man's soft snores as he extricated his limbs from around Ryan's body he heard the blond growl as he was moved around a little by Troy's own movements but a moment later the snores returned and Troy was in the bathroom running a shower.

Ten minutes later he heard coughing from the bedroom as he poked his head round the door he found a sleepy Ryan sitting up, "Hey you." Troy said to him.

"Is there hot water." Ryan asked.

"Sure is care to join me?" Troy asked him.

"You naked basketball boy?" Ryan asked Troy laughed.

"I heard you coughing so I came out to check if you were okay." Troy said to him Ryan nodded in understanding as he climbed out of the bed dropping his boxers before heading towards Troy who disappeared behind the door again.

Ryan found his boyfriend in the shower when he came in and slipped into the stall.

"Sleep well." Troy asked as he hugged Ryan against him rubbing soap into the blonds body.

"I think I have a cold." Ryan said to him Troy giggled. "Its not funny." Ryan said.

"No it isn't, I was giggling at the fact that you have managed to get a cold in a warm country." Troy said to him Ryan growled playfully at him. "You okay for the boat today?" he asked Ryan nodded as Troy kissed the back of his neck.

"Is that a stick in my back or are you just happy to see me." Ryan asked.

"What can I say you bring out the best in me." Troy said Ryan chuckled. "I'm glad we brought our friends here." Troy said to him massaging the blonds shoulders.

"I am to, I can't think of a better way to spend our last summer together as a group of friends before we go of to university." Ryan said to him Troy nodded. "We are going to miss this." Ryan said to him Troy felt the tension in his boyfriends body as he tensed up.

"Hey things change, we are always going to be friends with the people here that came with us Ryan. Excluding your sister who I am talking your mum and dad into disowning when we get back." Troy said to Ryan who chuckled. "Charlie is going to be with us this year, Chad and I are talking about spending some time together when we are back in New Mexico for Christmas assuming we are." Troy said to him with a grin on his way.

"We have to spend Christmas with our parents and families." Ryan said with a smile.

"I hoped you'd say that." Troy said to him.

"I'm turning into a prune." Ryan said.

"Your penis is not though." Troy said slipping a hand to the offending member. "Yeap that most definitely hasn't shrivelled up." Troy said as his boyfriend moaned.

The two of them walked into the kitchen an hour later both looking thoroughly mussed, Jack took in the two of them with a grin on his face.

"You look thoroughly shagged out bro." Alex said to him from the living room archway.

"If I am is it any of your business." Troy said to him with a smile.

"It used to be TJ, it used to be." Alex said to him.

"You want to take a walk." Troy asked him Alex looked at the door that lead to the garage. "We'll be back soon." Troy said kissing Ryan who nodded.

"You want some company?" Ryan asked.

"No this is something I need to do with my brother alone, I'll fill you in." Troy said to him.

"Sure thing, shall we wait for you to go to the boat?" Ryan asked him.

"We won't be long." Troy said to his boyfriend.

Troy followed his brother out into the garage as Sarah walked into the room with Jen and Sharpay, Sharpay was holding Lucas.

"Hey did Troy and Alex head out already?" Jen asked.

"Do you know what Alex wants to talk to him about?" Ryan asked.

"Yes I do, its nothing bad Ryan." Jen said to him.

They walked down to the beach taking in the tourists, both of them had spent enough time in the city to know the tourists traps and how to avoid them. Troy watched the surf as it chased their feet walking barefoot with their trainers in hand, "So what is on your mind Alex?" Troy asked his brother not looking back at him.

"Troy dad told me about your card gift to Ryan." Alex said to him Troy actually stopped in his tracks and looked at his brother who had turned to look at him.

"Don't you think your stepping over the boundaries of where a brothers duties end." Troy said to him.

"Troy…" Alex started.

"I get that you blame yourself for Matt's death, I get that you compensate for that with me, I get that your protective of me and my life choices. Get something straight Alex this is my life, you can't interfere when ever the hell you want to. What I gave Ryan is none of your business or dads." Troy said to him Alex stared at him.

"Do you blame me for Matt?" Alex asked him Troy stared at him. "I get it…" Alex said walking back the way they had come.

"Alex its complicated." Troy called after him he stopped.

"Its really not Troy do you blame me for Matt." Alex asked.

"No… not any more." Troy said to him honestly. "I stopped blaming you for what happened and screaming at dad for letting you look after us long ago." Troy said to Alex. "I hated you for five years I couldn't stand the site of you, you'd hug me and I would be cringing at the touch. Everything you do everything that you are reminds me of him and what that day took away from us." Troy said shocked to see for the first time since the funeral tears in his brothers eyes.

"Did you hate me that much?" Alex said.

"I wished it had been you hit by that car for a long time." Troy replied.

"You had a right to be angry I let you and Matt down." Alex said Troy punched him across the jaw sending him to his ass.

"No you didn't, you should never have been looking after three of us that day, mum and dad get that mantle of letting all of us down." Troy said to him as he sat down next to his brother. "You were fourteen Alex you shouldn't have been looking after the three of us." Troy said Alex touched his jaw shocked that his brother had hit him.

"Mum and dad punish themselves every day for what happened Troy." Alex said rubbing his jaw.

"I'm glad they do." Troy said to him.

"Your angry at them." Alex said.

"Yeah Alex I'm pretty angry with our parents for what happened, I know that even if they had been there it probably would have happened anyway but they left me without a twin and you suffering from guilt for something neither of us could do about." Troy said to him Alex stared. "I get your not angry with them, I can't help but be angry with them Alex." Troy added.

"Is it really that bad?" Alex asked.

"Some mornings I fight to find a reason to get out of bed in the morning." Troy said.

"Did you ever try to take your own life or something?" Alex asked.

"No I was on antidepressants for a couple of years when I was thirteen right through to when I was fifteen." Troy said. "I changed councillors around the same time." Troy added.

"I'm worried that the two of you are moving to fast Troy." Alex said.

"That isn't your call to make, Alex you need to let me make my own mistakes and if Ryan is a mistake which he isn't it isn't your call to make." Troy said to his brother who stared at him. "You struck out with Jen, I know I have with Ryan Alex his my knight in shining armour." Troy said to him with a smile.

"What makes you feel like his the one?" Alex asked.

"It doesn't hurt as much when his about." Troy answered him. "When I am with Ryan I can forget the pain of Matt not being there for a little while, I hear the bells ring when I am around him. As much as you know Jen is your one and only, I know his mine." Troy said. "I am really sorry about punching you by the way, even if you did deserve it." Troy said to his brother who chuckled.

"We have a long way to go before this is behind us don't we?" Alex said.

"I'm about to leave our parents as a permanent stay for the last time, I don't know what the next four years will have but I know that they'll help." Troy said to him with a smile. "I think we'll move here after graduation." Troy said to his brother.

"You going to give me a nephew or niece?" Alex asked.

"I think we'll do that." Troy said to him. "What did you bring me out here for you didn't come here to get punched." Troy said to his brother who laughed.

"Your going to be an uncle again." Alex said. "Jen's five months pregnant, she's just starting to show we found out recently twins." Alex said. "A boy and a girl." Alex said to him with a grin on her face.

"You want to call him Matthew?" Troy asked.

"I know that Lucas as his name, but we'd like to give him it as a first name." Alex said.

"Your wondering if I'd be okay with that?" Troy asked.

"We were both wondering if you'd be okay with it." Alex said to him.

"No I'm not, you should give him a name that is entirely different to his brother and his uncle Al." Troy said to him.

"You think we shouldn't name him Matt." Alex said.

"I think that you named Lucas after Matt, he would have liked that but this new little boy should have a different name." Troy said. "You should stop trying to appease me Alex, you can't heal the damage that Matt dying did by naming another son after him. That whole we have in our hearts is meant to be there Alex and its meant to hurt." Troy said. "I'm open to him being called Troy though." Troy said to him Alex chuckled.

"I'm really going to be an uncle again?" Troy asked.

"Yeah you are, do you think Ryan would like to be one of the godfathers?" Alex asked.

"One minute your slating him the next your asking me that, Alex you don't trust him how can you ask him to be a godfather to your son or daughter." Troy said to him Alex stared at him.

"I thought it would be something that you'd like." Alex said.

"Their your children Alex, not mine and I can't make you trust him but eventually your going to have to." Troy said to him standing up from his place on the beach.

"Troy its not that I don't trust him." Alex said.

"You just think that his not good enough for me." Troy said to his brother.

"Your putting words in my mouth Troy don't do that." Alex said.

"Then what is it?" Troy demanded. "He deserves a chance from your Alex." Troy said to him.

"I'm giving him a chance Troy." Alex said.

"So?" Troy asked.

"Look I like to keep an eye on you, and your giving him a card to your 200 million dollar account is scary to me." Alex said Troy laughed.

"Alex his parents are rich his the heir to their fortune his not a money grabber, he thought me over giving him the card and as offered almost daily to give me it back. He thinks his a mistake to me, he expects me to wake up and smell the bacon so to speak. He doesn't think his good enough for me because of his blasted family and how he was brought up." Troy said to him. "I love you for being protective Alex but I am old enough to make my own choices, if you can't trust that I'll buy out your shares in the company." Troy said walking back up the beach the way they had come Alex grabbed his arm spinning him around on the spot.

"Hey I trust you." Alex snarled Troy grimaced in pain.

"Al your hurting me." Troy said Alex let go of his arm as if he had been stung, Troy rubbed his arm.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked.

"Yeah I'm fine I'll probably have a bruise but that's as bad as it comes." Troy said to him with a grin.

"We should head back you need to head to the marina soon enough." Alex said. "You looking forward to Harvard." Alex said.

"Yes we both are." Troy said to him with a grin on his face.

"Those last few months in the army I wore your going there like a badge of honour." Alex said. "I'm not exactly the most intelligent person in the world Troy, my little brother is starting a law degree this September I am damn proud of you." Alex said to him Troy laughed.

"Your not an idiot." Troy said to him. "You're a dufuss and your sons and daughter I can only prey to god they don't get your looks, and bad luck but hey as long as they have two legs and two arms I can deal with it." he added. "Talk to Ryan Alex, get to know him okay." Troy said to him Alex nodded his head.

Troy walked into the kitchen to find everyone else sitting down to breakfast, Troy kissed Ryan before taking his seat as Alex walked into get a pack of ice to put on his jaw. Sarah looked between the pair of them before glaring at Troy, "You hit Alex?" she asked.

"He earned that bruised jaw." Troy said to him mother Alex nodded sitting down next to Troy.

"Yeah I did earn that." Alex said taking toast from the rack.

"What do you guys have planned today?" Jen asked.

"We were going to take the boat out of the marina." Troy said Jen raised her eye brows so Alex explained what Troy was talking about. "Your welcome to come with us if you are up for a day out." Troy said to her.

"I'd love to." Jen said to him.

"We might as well make a day of it." Alex said to him.

They boarded the boat a little while later, Troy said that they'd hire the boat out for the entire day so long as they were on there own as a private party, Alex was asking him most of the way out of the marina how much that had cost to get what he wanted Troy just smiled at him before heading below to find his friends.

"This is pretty cool." Chad said to him as they looked through the glass beneath them.

"Did you take your motion sickness pills?" Ryan asked him.

"I'm good on boats honey." Troy said shaking his head with a grin on his face. "So you like it then?" Troy asked Chad.

"Of course I like it, I am not likely to forget this summer in a hurry." Chad said with a smile.

"That's the idea of it." Troy said to him Chad laughed as Alex and Jen came down below deck. "Hey, you mind if I tell Ryan what you told me this morning Alex?" Troy asked him.

"Not at all." Alex said with a smile.

"What's this about?" Ryan asked him.

"I… we are going to be uncles again." Troy said wrapping his arms around his boyfriends waist placing his chin on his boyfriends shoulder.

"Seriously." Ryan asked.

"Twins, a boy and a girl." Troy said to him Ryan turned to look at him a smile on his face.

"That is so cool, I didn't think that you could tell the sex of babies early on." Ryan said to him.

"You can't these are five months along." Troy said. "They just found out." Troy said to him.

"But with twins you'd be huge right." Ryan asked.

"Mum was small with Troy and Matt, we all were according to mum." Alex said to him.

"You had better not think about showing my baby photos." Troy said to his brother who laughed. "I mean it Alex your dead if you do." Troy said to his brother as he walked down to Jason and Chad who were staring out what would have been the front off the ship. "Hey Jason." Troy said to him as his friend turned to face him a smile on his face. "Having a good time?" he asked his friend who laughed as Chuckie arrived with Blake from the top deck.

"Great time dude, I didn't know you could be this cool." Jason said Troy laughed.

"I'll let that one slide, I think my brother is going to start showing baby photos of me so I made an escape." Troy said to his friends who laughed. "I am going to kill him if he even tries to do that." Troy added his brother and boyfriend were laughing at something Troy looked back to where they were nervously.

"They can't be that bad." Sharpay said coming over.

"So you wouldn't have any problem if your mum pulled yours and Ryan's baby photos." Troy said to him with a smile on his lips as she seemed to pale at the idea of being shown up by photos. "I thought so." Troy said with a smirk.

"They wouldn't dare." Sharpay said.

"I bet that Ryan was the cuter of the two of you." Troy said Sharpay snarled at him. "Yeah I know which one of you were the porker as a baby now." Troy said laughing as Sharpay punched his arm. "I'm glad you don't hit as hard as your brother." Troy said laughing as the boat laid anchor. "Probably stopping for most of the day." Troy said to them. "If its clear we can swim and snorkel or sun bath." Troy said to them as Ryan approached him.

"Your brother is so going to embarrass you." Ryan said.

"I know he is." Troy groaned. "What's the news on food and what have you." Troy asked him.

"Food will be ready in about half hour for us to eat when we want to, everything else is cool and a okay." Ryan said to him Troy nodded with a smile on his lips. "I fancy a swim." Troy said to his boyfriend as he headed back up top. They were that far from the shore for a strong swimmer it wasn't to far for the weaker ones it was something to be weary of.

"You can't be serious." Chuckie said to him as they approached the top deck, Alex already jumping into the water. "I'll stay on the boat and catch some sun." Chuckie said.

"We have some wings for you." Troy teased him as he pulled his shoes and socks of his already bare chest suggested that he was ready to jump of. "See you in a little bit." Troy said to Chuckie as he threw himself of the boat after his brother and Sharpay of all people.

"Do you think that he enjoys himself." Ryan asked Chuckie with a grin.

"I can't believe he just dived into the ocean." Chuckie said.

"You should have seen him the other day Chuckie, his a natural in the water." Ryan said as they sat down on the deck to watch the brothers and Sharpay swimming around in the ocean without fear of what was about.

"He seems happy." Chuckie said to Ryan.

"He is, I think he struggles at times to keep it up when his low but his happy." Ryan said to him. "What you planning for next term?" Ryan asked.

"I don't know I am in the student accommodation." Chuckie said to him.

"We are to, I know that we were thinking about getting a place for the year, but we thought that it would probably be better if we did have a place in the dorms for the first year." Ryan said to him with a smile on his face.

"That's good." Chuckie said to him.

"When we do get a place you do know that his going to ask you to move in with us." Ryan said to him.

"His already said as much to me." Chuckie said Ryan laughed.

"Is what happened between you and him more than what he says it is?" Ryan asked.

"No it was just a kiss and some fooling about." Chuckie said to him.

"I thought as much." Ryan said to him smiling to let him know that he was okay with the fooling about thing. "You two were together before I was with him, I know that his mine now and I am his." Ryan said to him Chuckie chuckled.

"He knows it to." Chuckie said to him staring at Chad Troy and Alex who were now monkeying around in the water. "His at ease here isn't he." Chuckie said to Ryan who looked at Troy smiling and laughing with his friends.

"It has something to do with the fact that this was his haven after Matt died." Ryan said to Chuckie who looked at him. "We're buying a house over here." Ryan said to him. "Which we are probably going to move into when we graduate, I love it here as much as he does and I know that we aren't going to argue about that." Ryan said.

"Your going to immigrate here?" Chuckie asked.

"Unless he gets a job offer in the USA." Ryan said.

"You think he will?" Chuckie asked Ryan laughed.

"I know that my boyfriend is a dark horse who hides his intelligence very well." Ryan said to him Chuckie nodded. "He would have to be with his subject list." Ryan added Chuckie laughed at this.

"Foods up." someone called from the galley as they brought out the food Chuckie whistled to the people in the water.

"Grubs up." Chuckie shot out to them as Troy looked around at the boat before taking off towards them before the rest of them reacted.

Seven that evening the group reentered the house talking animatedly about the day they had spent on the boat having fun, the swim had been followed by a tour around the bay while watching the marine life below deck. Troy and Sharpay had spent most of the afternoon talking about Ryan spoke with Chad Chuckie and Jason about Troy.

"You all have a good day?" Jack asked the guys as they crossed the door to the living room, Taylor smiled.

"Fantastic, we spent a lot of it watching the marine life." Taylor said.

"That and some of us went for a swim." Chuckie said glaring playfully at Troy.

"Well some of us like to have a swim." Troy said smiling at his friend.

"Some of us still have to learn to swim." Taylor said.

"Yeah I know, but I can't help it if I happen to really enjoy swimming." Troy said to her she laughed.

"You mister are a menace." Sarah said warmly as she took in her happy looking youngest child's relaxed appearance. "Lucas was good for us today we took him out into the town." Sarah said to Alex and Jen. "Having a very good day away of it." she said to him with a grin.

"I'm going to go order Chinese for dinner for the rest of us." Troy said to his mother.

"Yes we didn't know whether you'd eat before you came back or not, your nana said chef will cook you something if you want it though guys." Jack said to them all.

"Its okay I can take peoples orders down to the local take away." Troy said to his father.

"Sure thing." Alex said to him.
