I don't know how this came up, but it just did, so enjoy. I don't own the Song of the Lioness, etc.
----
She remembered when she was young and she wanted to become a knight, foolishness in it's purest form. Luckily her brother Thom had decided not to switch places with her when she had suggested it. She was married now, to none other than King Jonathan of Tortall, she would have never achieved this if her little scheme had worked out.
She remembered the times when she used to like getting dirty and used to do archery and excelled in swordplay, she laughed, how she could have been once so foolish, she would never know. When she went to the Convent, she learned to hate these things, she learned to love more female like activities. As far as she was concerned, the Convent was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Why had she ever thought that women could fight, women lived to be womanly and bear the children of their manly husbands. Her instructor Nodoka had taught her that. She now was the pride of the Convent. She was a womanly woman who bore her manly husband's children. She let off a sigh of content.
She was different from when she was young, she was now mild-tempered, womanly, and thought herself as inferior to her husband. A few days ago, Jonathan had made a wizard cast a spell o see what would have happened if she had successfully been able to become a knight, it was awful, people called her The Lioness and woman were fighting, she nearly fainted. She was after all now light-hearted.
She heard her husband calling her, so she hurried to him, his wish was her command. She was a perfect lady. What she didn't realize was that she was nothing more than one of them, a silly lady, she was a could have been, she was an extinguished flame, a repressed flower, a tamed lioness.
