Just a short update tonight…I didn't have as much time today to work on it…but hopefully I'll have a full-fledged update tomorrow!

Elizabeth walked through the marketplace of Port Caolis with a basket in one hand and little William's hand holding the other one. William skipped and smiled brightly as they stopped at several carts littered along the street. They didn't leave the cabin often and this was indeed a rare treat. He loved it when his mom would take them to the market to pick up fresh supplies. It gave him a chance to see how the rest of the world lived.

"Come on now, William," said Elizabeth, peeking out from under her hood as she tugged his hand.

William sighed in frustration. His mom was always in a hurry and wanted to get in and out of the market as quickly as she could. She had explained it to him time and time again but little Will still didn't understand it all. All he really knew was that his mom and his dad had become friends with some pirates and helped them out and that if anyone knew that his mom was still alive and well then they may try to come after her…and the punishment for her would be the gallows.

For that reason, Elizabeth wandered around the market place with a shawl over her head and her eyes downcast as she avoided making eye contact with the people they passed by. It was frustrating for William, she knew, but it was the only way. This is the life they had to live now. She had made her choices in the past and now she had to accept the consequences of her actions. She just wished that those consequences didn't have to affect William so much…

Jack Sparrow stood upon the mast of his ship, his eyes narrowed against the morning sunrise as he gazed out onto the land ahead of the Pearl. They were getting closer now. All that was left to do was to dock somewhere where there wouldn't be any of those blasted guards and search for her. He'd look for her at the market place, pray she was there, and if not…he supposed he had to go to the cabin. He didn't want to corner her. He knew if she got upset that he would walk away and never go back. After all, that was why he left in the first place. He never wanted to hurt her or to make her feel conflicting emotions over Will. Ten years without seeing him could change everything for Elizabeth…and for him…and that scared him to death.

He had to leave before he acted upon his desires. He couldn't make her love him and he knew deep down he couldn't make her feel the way Will Turner made her feel. It was as simple as that. But now three years had gone by and the loneliness he felt when he thought of her was just as sharp as the day he sailed away from that inlet. He had to see her…he had to know where he stood in her life…if there was a place for him in it at all. If there wasn't then he would do as he did last time except…then he would never come back. He didn't want to put her through anymore emotional torment than she had already been through.

Memories of her lying broken on the deck of the Black Pearl, her heart in shreds and her soul dying inside of her made his heart ache. He couldn't bear the thought of her in pain like that ever again. She was the only woman who had ever made him feel this way. Sure he had loved other women before, but Elizabeth Swann was in a class all her own. She was just like him in so many ways and yet such a lady at the same time. She was the only woman capable of stopping his heart with just a simple glance. Letting her go was a mistake…walking away without telling her how he felt was wrong. He was so worried about her emotional state and so fearful of commitment that he ran away from it all. It had taken him three years to gather the courage to come back to her…to tell her what he should have said so long ago.

"No worries, Lizzie," he murmured to himself as he gazed out over the water, "Jackie's back now…everything will be alright…I promise…"

Yes I'd come for you, no one but you,
Yes I'd come for you
But only if you told me to

And I'd fight for you
I'd lie, it's true
Give my life for you
You know I'd always come for you

No matter what gets in my way
As long as there's still life in me
No matter what, remember you know I'll always come for you
I'd crawl across this world for you
Do anything you want me to
No matter what, remember you know I'll always come for you
You know I'll always come for you
