Hello folks. Looks like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss have competition. At least to what how things are since I just got caught up with all four episodes of my third favorite web cartoon, Murder Drones. And this is the cartoon from the same animation group, Glitch Productions, that is known for SMG4, Meta Runner, and Sunset Paradise, with their upcoming new cartoon in production, The Amazing Digital Circus, which is the SECOND time that the cartoon has AI as part of the universe if Murder Drones is of any indication.
Now...just like with Helluva Boss, this fanfic is also canon divergent. It's started to become my favorite part of storytelling since it makes you think and feel what it's like partaking in the main character's journey, whether as one of the chosen few to save another universe, the comic relief, or the supporting member. So here, I wanted to do something a little different. The secondary group of Drones being based on the three pilgrims from Journey to the West as you'll soon see.
Now...as Megatron would say...let the slaughter begin.
Chapter 1: Pilot aka Pilgrims
We are Worker Drones. Autonomous robots helping humans mine exoplanets for our interstellar parent company, JCJenson IN SPAAAAACCCEE! Yeah, we were mistreated in the name of Windex. But it's not like we revolted and killed all humans or anything, mostly because they handled that just fine all by themselves.
With biological life wiped from the planet, we found it pretty easy to pick up where they left off. We finally had a future, all to ourselves. Unfortunately, our parent company didn't exactly love the concept of runaway AI. So JCJenson sent their latest creation, the Disassembly Drones, to the planet on the chance that a we could potentially rebel against the humans or if humanity dies out. They were designed to exterminate Worker Drones and prevent them from attaining a human-free society
Us, Worker Drones have become too frightened to stand up to the Disassembly Drones, so in response to this, the Worker Defense Force, or WDF for short, have begun constructing huge doors to hole up behind in an attempt to hide from the killers.
"But what have our parents done for the past forever while those things build a spire of corpses?!" Uzi demanded, "Hide under the ice behind three stupid doors?! It's like we're waiting for an inciting incident!" she added, pressing a button on a remote that showed a class presentation on the class board hologram. This drone, with purple hair, violet eyes, a black beanie, a black hoodie being worn over her body, and black boots that covered her long socks, stood out amongst the other drones with her angsty personality, coupled with her being anger-prone and a determination to fight the killer robots: this is Uzi Doorman,
"Anyway, that's why my project is this sick-as-hell Railgun!" she crowed, flipping and introducing a railgun to the class. Naturally, her classmates panicked at the sight of the railgun, "Oh, so not the vibe!" one student drone panicked, "Easy, morons. It doesn't work... yet!" Uzi said, pointing the railgun, "It doesn't work yet. Who said it doesn't work, maybe it does!" she cackled, flicking a switch on the railgun.
Her teacher, Riley, rolled his eyes, "Uzi, the homework was a word problem about buying watermelons," he monotoned, sighing with disinterest, "Oh, and this magnetically amplified photon converger doesn't count?" Uzi asked sheepishly.
"...No. Plus, repressed emotional baggage was only worth two points on the rubric. And is it supposed to be that color?" he asked. Uzi then saw that the railgun turned red and blasted the classroom, which left a dent in the door.
This caused Uzi to wind up at sick bay in the nurses office. The teen drone was applying an ice pack over her bandaged right side of her face. She noticed in the open door of the office that one of her classmates, Lizzy and her friend, had noticed Uzi in the sick bay, "Ew, it didn't kill her! Oh my god, it's so bad!" Lizzy mocked before she and her friend sprinted off. Uzi just groaned in annoyance.
Another drone, Thad, walked into the nurses office, speaking to someone in the hallway before entering.
"Classic toxic masculinity, Chad! That's never gonna end up problematic..." Thad then noticed Uzi in the office as well, "Oh wow, Uzi? I heard you, uh-"
"I'm an angsty teen, Thad. Bite me!" Uzi huffed, throwing the ice pack away and then crossing her arms, "Also, how do you know my name? People willingly talk to you,"
Thad chuckled, "Well, I'd say everyone knows Khan's daughter, but, uh... Then you might blow the other half of your face off," Thad said.
"Crippling daddy issues, hilarious..." Uzi replied sarcastically, "What are you in for? Testosterone too hard?"
"That can happen?" Thad gasped. But then he relaxed when he thought about it, "Awesome. Hey, those bandages look pretty badass." he complimented.
Uzi swiped her hair and blushed in embarrassment at the notion, "Oh... Uh, ew. Gross, I hate that you said that," she said.
Thad pointed to the railgun that Uzi had, "So, what's the, uh..." he began before she pointed the railgun, "Sick-as-hell railgun?!" Uzi exulted, "Sci-Fi nonsense, that super works! I'm sneaking to the Murder Drone lair tonight to get the last spare part I need to save the world with it and earn my dad's respect and stuff, but mostly the world part," Uzi explained.
"Oh, but doesn't your dad make awesome doors so we don't have to, uh... Do that scary sounding emotionally repressed stuff you just said?" Thad asked. This apparently was enough to touch a nerve or circuit wire to the teen Worker Drone.
"NO MORE FEEDBACK ON MY REPRESSION TODAY!" Uzi suddenly shouted, pressing the muzzle of the weapon against Thad's cheek, "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't think..." he said. Uzi then decided to leave, "BITE ME!" she shouted before she exited. She came back for a minute, "I'm not mad at you by the way, just generally hormonal!" she exclaimed before leaving again, giving Thad a thumbs up as she slowly left.
Elsewhere, in an unknown location in a wrecked, frozen, and abandoned laboratory, there lied three stasis capsules which housed three drones. All three of them were currently offline and submerged in a sort of liquid for conditioning. The only thing still functioning was a clock that acted as the alarm. It suddenly rang and the liquid began to drain. Afterwards the capsules begin to open. The first to stumble out was a drone, with a sleek design. The clothes it wore had a mixture of a gi and a monk. The design invoked that of a monkey.
The drone's eyes flashed the words, "NOW BOOTING UP," before it completed and its eyes appeared on the visor. The drone scanned the area of the wrecked lab. He then saw the capsule he stumbled out of and then at the other two. Were these his friends? Brothers? Anything? Then the drone saw what looked like a still functioning computer. It had one video recording. And near it was the scrapped drone of some kind.
The drone played the video, "Computer still works. What the hell happened in here? And how long were we in there?" the drone wondered.
The video showed a Worker Drone with the uniform of the JCJenson company. He began to speak.
"My name is Liuer Tripitaka. I am the Worker Drone archivist and researcher who with my colleagues designed, modeled, and built my latest creations, the first three of hopefully something the JCJenson can consider: the Mythos-Type Disassembly Drones. I modeled them based on my studies of human mythology that I had archived based on the three pilgrims from the 16th-century Chinese novel, Journey to the West, a 2000-page story featuring a monk named Tang Sanzang or Tripitaka like my last name, who embarks on a divine mission to collect sacred scrolls from the subcontinent of India and is joined by his three supernatural disciples that I based my creations off of: Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie aka Pigsy, and Sha Wujing aka Sandy. Wukong in particular was born from a stone egg and became king of the monkeys of the Flower Fruit Island, learned a slew of magical abilities from a Taoist master, stolen and eaten multiple magic items that granted him immortality, and many others he's done. Upon having lost a bet to the Buddha, Wukong was sealed away for 500 years under the Mountain of Five Elements. He was forced under Tripitaka's service with a magical headband that the monk could shrink on a whim if the sage misbehaved to keep him under control. Overtime on his journey, he learned the importance of humility in order to gain his most valued prize: godhood. I named my creations Kong, Zhubop (a play on words for Zhu and Bebop), and Kujing. When I heard about a plan to use a line of drones called the Disassembly Drones should the Workers rebel or gain free sentience, I decided to base my own version in my secret lab for one purpose: carry out the same objectives the JCJenson does but ultimately if they can, protect the Worker Drones who get infected with something called the AbsoluteSolver, which could pose a significant threat to dronekind as a result. So they were designed to also destroy rogue Disassembly Drones. However, by the time me and me colleagues finish, it's only a matter of time before the company gets wind of this and or calamity strikes. So on the day in a few months or years, I set the time for when they are ready to be awakened. But my three creations that I am proud to consider my sons *sniff* they are able to act, worry, and think, which will be their greatest strength to protect those from the darkness we call progress...and unlike the Disassembly Drones...bring hope...to the future..."
With those words said and done, the message concluded, with the drone, who was called Kong, having his hand on the screen. It was then that during the video log, the last remaining Mythos-Type Disassembly Drones, Zhubop and Kujing, had activated upon stumbling out of the capsules. Zhubop had features like that of a fat pig, whereas Kujing had fins on his arms and the back of his feet. Zhubop already had a corpse of a Worker Drone in his mouth before he spit it out, "Yuck! Talk about expired, oink!" Zhubop complained, spitting it out.
"Brother...who was that on the screen?" Kujing asked.
Kong had a look of solemn to it, "The one I can call father. He built us to serve as a beacon of hope for dronekind," he said, looking at the area they were in. It was all frozen thanks to what happened on Copper-9, "It looks like we could use a bit of lighting up around here. There's a big world to explore. I wonder where the other drones here are at," he then added, a gleeful tone was heard.
Zhubop and Kujing looked at each other and nodded, "Well then, let's not waste time. Let's get a move on!" Zhubop cheered.
The three drones made their way out of the lab. Upon doing so, Kong scanned for what abilities was built into him and he sucked up a cloud from the sky for the three to use for travel. The three hopped onto it and rode off, ready to explore this barren, strange, but brand-new world they now inhabit.
Meanwhile, back at home, it was three in the morning and a built in alarm rang in Uzi's head. She smacked herself awake and to make preparations for her plan. She got her railgun, straightened her hat, quietly sticking her arm into Dad's room and swiping her father's door key to use to get the door open, and then began to wonder the frozen halls of the facility, hoping to sneak on out before her father finds out. She then comes across the door and scanned it with her father's key. Just as she was about to leave, the door opened to reveal her father standing there.
This startled Uzi that a warning sign flashed on her visor for a brief moment, "Oh, Robo-Jesus!" she exclaimed. Her father had his arms crossed, "And where might you be off to?" he questioned, his visor showing his. Uzi tried to come up with a lie, "Umm...sneaking out to make out with my boyfriend that I definitely have?" Uzi lied sheepishly. Her father laughed at this notion before he composed himself, "Seriously, though."
Uzi had to play smart about this, "Okay, okay, you caught me! I need to measure... the exterior hydraulic mechanisms of Door One. Because that's... the project I'm working on for school? A big old door! Just like what my old man builds!" she spluttered. Though it was clear that her father wasn't buying it and kept trying, "I want to join the WDF and hide behind the doors like cowards while playing cards and stuff..."
Her father then chuckled, "Well, we don't just play cards..." he said. Another door opened behind to reveal his buddies playing cards, "Khan! Can you grab a fresh pack? We literally only play cards so much that the numbers have faded," one of Khan's friends called out. He then noticed Uzi, "Oh, hey Uzi!" he greeted.
Uzi chuckled sheepishly.
Khan then closed the door and laughed, "Well...when you build doors so good-" he went to hug the door as if it were a pet he was petting and talking too, "-Good door, good door..." and then he turned his attention back to his daughter, "There's no need to fight! Uzi, this is great news! Here!" Khan took out a wrench, "The wrench that I used to tighten bolts on my first door prototypes," then his voice got tense, "and to put your mother out of her misery when the Murder Drones got to her with that nanite acid..." he then talked back to his normal cheerful self, "I want you to have it!" he offered, handing the wrench to Uzi.
"Neat. Therapy's fun!" Uzi said, dumbfounded that the part worked. Khan opened the other door.
"Guys! My daughter is into doors!" he announced. His fellow Worker Drones started cheering as another door opened to the outside, sub-zero world, much to the chagrin of the workers, "She's gonna be outside for a bit to examine the exterior of Door One! Your specific destiny awaits!" Khan congratulated, leading her to the door.
Uzi begins to walk out, "Uhh... Wow, okay! I'm just gonna leave then, cause this worked so weirdly well. Uh, go doors!" she managed a fake cheer, complete with a peace sign before the door closed.
Khan was beginning to tear up, "They grow up so fast!" he gushed, taking off his fake mustache and rubbing the tear.
Uzi was now outside the facility. She sighed and looked around. All around, was a frozen, barren wasteland of ice and snow, buildings were derelict and in ruins. In the night sky were two moons, one of them having rings as if it were that of Saturn. Human bones could be seen, having become frozen with time. Everything in the land was frozen in ice. Uzi began to make her trek across the ruined city. She heard the sound of glass shattering beneath her and saw that she stepped on a corpse of a Worker Drone, it's visor still having a warning symbol flashing. Uzi was nervous on how this would turn out.
Uzi then came across a downed pod of some kind and began to forage around for the component she would need. She picked up a disembodied arm of a drone and tossed it aside. She then noticed a glowing green device. She figured this would be the necessary component she needed. Suddenly, she heard a nose behind her and hid behind machinery as a Disassembly Drone latched onto the pod and spread it's wings out.
It had just come back from it's hunt and was holding the head of a Worker Drone, drinking it's oil before crushing it. Uzi had a piece of glass to use as reflection to see if she was noticed. So far she was hidden. Uzi looked at the component and the glass. It was then that the winged drone had found her, it's visor flashing an X on it, and waving tauntingly at her, as if it were saying, "Found you,"
The Disassembly Drone flew up and Uzi flipped her railgun, loading the component into it. She attempted to aim her gun, but the drone landed on the ground so hard, it scattered debris and sent Uzi flying. Uzi was in shock as the gun flew out of her hand. She performed a flip and struck a fighting pose. The teen drone realized what she just did, "Whoa, and they said pirating all that anime was useless..." she said to herself.
The drone charged at Uzi, causing her to gasp. The drone used it's syringe tail and stabbed into Uzi's hand, jumped into the air, and then flung her to the side. Uzi looked at her hand to see that it left a hole on it and seemed to burn her. She then looked to the side and saw her railgun. The drone turned it's hand into an arm cannon and began scanning for the teen. It then found her, but she had reclaimed her railgun. Amongst the target being locked, it's visor even said, "Plot armor detected,"
"Bite me!" she challenged before firing the railgun, which fired a wide blast that obliterated the Disassembly Drone's head. The drone, seemingly dead, collapsed to the ground. Uzi's railgun began recharging as she stared in awe and shock, thinking that thanks to her, the Worker Drones would finally be able to fight back and no longer be afraid of the Disassembly Drones.
"Holy hell! Suck on that, Dad!" Uzi whooped. But her celebration was short lived when the drone suddenly sprung back to life and got back up, it's head regenerating like a sort of liquid. It's optics flashing "ERROR: Optic Sensors: Offline."
Uzi began to panic and found the disembodied arm of a drone and smacked the drone with it. It had little to no effect. But the reboot was done but one of the headlights on it's head was red. Also Uzi got to see the drone up close without it attacking. The Disassembly Drone wore a sort of black winter jacket and had a cap on it's head. The optics then flashed it's eyes again, which caused it to blink and smile. It then spoke...but not in a way Uzi expected.
"...Did you just slap me with that arm?" he asked awkwardly.
"Holy crap, it talks," Uzi said.
"Yeah... Sorry, it's just my, uh, head kind of hurts," the drone apologized, rubbing the back of his head, "Hey, are you new to our squad? You're a little, uhh...short, for a Disassembly Drone," he asked, attempting a scan. Unfortunately, due to having his head blasted off, he received an error. He squinted his eyes at Uzi, who looked at him nervously. Then he dropped the facade and introduced himself.
"I'm Serial Designation N, nice to meet you," The Disassembly Drone, named N, introduced himself, "I'm kind of the leader of the squad in this city. That's not true, everyone tells me I'm useless and terrible. Wait, I'm not supposed to tell you that part! Biscuits!" he exclaimed upon telling Uzi this. N then sighed and laughed, "Well, honesty is the best policy. I also can't seem to remember the past 3 hours of my life, but I'm sure that'll sort itself out," he concluded nonchalantly.
Uzi blinked. She couldn't believe it. This Disassembly Drone didn't behave like a monster like the others did. This one behaved more like an awkward person.
"Uh huh... I, uh, have to, go," Uzi said. She attempted to leave but forgot about the painful hole that N inflicted on her hand. She dropped the arm and grabbed her hand, grunting at the pain.
"Stuck yourself? Just pop it in your mouth. Our saliva neutralizes the nanites, otherwise I'd be constantly disassembling myself," N advised, holding the syringe that held up the nanite acid. Uzi spoke up, "And by our saliva, you mean..."
"Disassembly Drone?" They both said together, "Right. Hey, let's go in that landing pod over there!" Uzi suggested quickly, pointing at the landing pod, "Sure! I love doing anything!" N agreed.
The two entered the landing pod in which Uzi reluctantly put her hand in N's mouth to allow the saliva to seal the hole in Uzi's hand. After the process is done, Uzi pulled her hand out of the Disassembly Drone's mouth, "Sweet! Uh, I'm open to new things, I guess," N said.
"We are never talking about this," Uzi groused.
"Talking about what? Consider it, uh... Repressed!" N assured, acting as if he was a cool bot.
Then Uzi remembered in her memory banks that N mentioned others in his squad, "...Uh, you mentioned other members of your squad? Are they coming back soon?" Uzi asked.
"Oh, yeah. Two others. They're out hunting for a bit but you'll love them. First, there's V," N mentioned.
One bot was seen having his circuits and guts torn out by a Disassembly Drone. The Drone in particular wore a black short-sleeved crop coat with a fur collar and cuffs. Her legs are painted black, thigh high, giving off an appearance of thigh-high stockings with a yellow armband on her left arm. This was one of the Disassembly Drones, Serial Designation V.
V had a look of sadistic pleasure on her face as she saw the Worker Drone beg for his life, "No, No! Please don't feed me my own entrails in front of my family!" the Worker Drone pleaded.
N watched with grimace as the Worker Drone's pleas went on deaf ears as V fed Grant his own entrails in fron of his family and then killed him. V laughed sadistically as she stood up and wiped her face with her arm and her optics changed back to her normal yellow eyes, "...And yet, I still feel nothing," V crowed, her eyes changing to looking like zeroes. Her right eye twitched.
N decided to speak up, "So, V, uh, I heard this planet-wide toxic death storm is supposed to be especially inhospitable tonight-"
V was picking her teeth with her claws when she heard N talk. She turned around and saw N standing there, "Oh God, who are you?!" she demanded, unfurling her demonic, metal wings and then flying off, leaving N in diamond dust from the snow.
"No worries, I'm N! But a whole letter is a lot to remember!" N called out to her, laughing nervously
"So obviously, a lot of mutual respect there. But secretly," N stopped and then whispered to Uzi, "I actually kind of have a crush on her... You can't tell her, okay?!" he snapped nervously. Uzi smiled and did a lips sealed motion.
"Then there's J, our leader," N replied.
N was pinned to the ground by J, who appeared to be wearing a short-sleeved dress with a belt sideways as well as strap buttons and pockets on the side with a Bowie giving the appearance of a businesswoman. She seemed to be wearing knee high stockings giving off an anime schoolgirl approach to her, and like other Disassembly Drones she dons a yellow armband around her left elbow.
"N, you're worthless, and terrible, and if the company allowed it, I would straight up kill you myself!" J threatened, pointing her syringe tail at N.
Even while choking, N managed to choke out a, "Thank you."
"J's awesome. Hey, let me give you the tour!" N offered, "Outside are the corpse... wall... thingies. In here are the buttons!" he began pressing buttons.
Uzi then looked at the control console and the cracked screen, "This... isn't just a landing pod... This is a spaceship! This could get us off the planet!" Uzi marveled.
"More of a one-use missile. They never taught us how to land," N admitted.
"No, I, uh, uh, the worker drones, we could work with them to fix this! Instead of all the murder!" Uzi reprimanded, pointing at N who shrunk back, his optics showing zeroes as his eyes, "...Which, uh, why are we doing that again...?" she asked.
"Other than ingesting their WARM, SWEET oil to avoid overheating and dying?" N told the teen, his eyes turning into an X for a second before going back to normal, "I guess I just want to be useful. I was given a job and I always want to try my best,"
Uzi stood up, "And look at all the respect it's gotten you, N. You really think the company isn't going to dispose of you once all the workers are dead?" she questioned.
"Oh my, you sure are rebellious! It's kind of exciting," N complimented, "But, not as fun as, uh, following the rules..."
Suddenly, the two heard footsteps outside the landing pod. Uzi had a look of fright on her face. N, on the other hand, had a look of cheerfulness on his face as he knew that his comrades had returned, "Hey, they're back! You-" he stopped and looked confused when he saw that Uzi had disappeared, "Idiot, get out here!" a voice called to N.
Uzi was seen running from the Corpse House, carrying her railgun. Far from her, a figure latched onto the Corpse House and eyed Uzi with an X on her face, laughing with malicious glee. She crawled into the Corpse House and landed inside, "Yo, we got a worker out there I kind of want to practice balloon animal shapes with," V then noticed wreckage from the battle N had with Uzi "...What happened here?"
"Synergistic Liability here must have tripped and knocked himself offline," J answered, slapping N. This caused him to go into system reboot mode, "Moron box, hello?" she said, clicking her fingers. N's reboot was complete after that. It was then he went through recordings in his memory banks that went to a recording back to who he was talking to this entire time: to Uzi questioning whether or not the company would dispose of him once all Workers have been slain to before Uzi blasted his head off.
His memory banks showing "YOU'RE DEAD [IDIOT]
The reboot was then finished.
"Ohhhh..." N responded. He looked at J and V before scanning the footprints, recognizing them as Uzi's. He realized he had led a Worker Drone into their lair, "Ohhhh! You know, I-I left an-an extremely dangerous weap- excuse outside...!" N stammered before fleeing. V was seen holding a flag that said, "Literally So Insanely Suspicious."
Meanwhile, Uzi was fleeing back to the colony. Unfortunately, N, having learned what Uzi was, was in pursuit, his eyes a single X.
Unbeknowst to them, a cloud above was hovering in the frozen skies. The three Pilgrims, Kong, Zhubop, and Kujing looked at the three winged shapes heading for the colony. They decided to investigate.
Inside the facility, the drones were continuing their card game. They didn't realize that death was now looming over their circuit boards. Todd had come out the winner, "Haha, I am out, boys," he boasted.
Some of the drones made groaned and made snark remarks, "Oh, gosh darn it," one said, "Wait until my loving wife and kids hear about this!" said another.
The card game was interrupted when the door opened and Uzi ran in, much to their annoyance when the cards flew away when the frigid wind kicked in, "Bite me!" she told them off. She tried swiping the card to close the door, "Close it! Close it!" she pleaded to the scanner. Finally the door began to close, but it was stopped. Uzi turned around her eyes in her optics dilated in fear as to her horror, N stuck his claw in between and began to pry the door open slightly.
The Workers looked in open mouth terror.
"Hey, fellas. Oh, deal me in, I love rummy," N said, his nonchalantness still present. But then he stopped himself, "Wait, no, I'm going to murder everyone... Brain check!"
The Disassembly Drone swung his acidic tail at the door scanner and broke it and the key, causing not only the scanner to melt from the acid, but all the doors in the facility to open. Realizing the danger they were now in, Uzi and the other drones ran for their lives. Todd however, didnt run. He chuckled, "Um, actually, it's gin rummy. So-" Todd was cut off as N impaled him against the wall. The acid was eating away at the drones insides before N then sliced his head off. N then turned his arm into a machine gun.
N fired at the rest of the Worker Drones, with one of them blown up and his head flying. The other drone was pounced on and torn apart by the Disassembly Drone.
One of the Worker Drones caught up to Uzi, "Hey, Uzi! I just realized no one's said my name out loud before, so I'm just letting you know I'm-" but before he could introduce himself, he was sliced in two by N with a laser cannon, while he was gorging on a drone's oil before he went up a ventilation shaft in pursuit.
During the attack, Uzi's railgun was on charge mode. It was then the recharge was complete. Uzi then turned back to fire, but N was gone. Uzi was terrified as she saw the corpses of other. Then she heard Khan's voice and turned around, "Pretty nice hydraulics, huh?" Khan then paused as he sees all the chaos he missed, "...What-What have you done?" he asked, terrified.
Uzi didn't reply. And before she could explain, N swooped in, creating a shockwave that sent both of them flying. Then, Uzi spun her railgun and prepared to attack, "This time, I won't miss!" she assured.
N chuckled evily, "I'm sorry. I really enjoyed our time together, but I can't have you shooting V with that thing," he warned.
"Bite me!" Uzi spat, "Dad, get down!"
But Khan was too shocked to do anything, "Uzi, you Lead a murder drone here?! My beautiful doors!" Khan quavered
"Now is so not the time! I messed up, in the same way I'm about to fix it! Move, dad!" Uzi pleaded, aiming at N. With the teen distracted, N impaled and pinned her to the wall with his right wing, spraying oil everywhere. Uzi coughed oil and tried to raise her gun, but N grabbed it and threw it to Khan's feet.
"Dad...point and shoot...trust me...!" Uzi strained, clutching at the wing. Khan looked at the railgun, then to his daughter, and then at N, who's optics were an X. He was trembling in fear and slowly backed off instead of helping his only child.
Uzi looked at her father with heartbreak, "Dad...?" she whimpered.
In an act of cowardice, Khan closed the door, leaving Uzi and N alone. The lights in the area flickered to red and alarms blared. Uzi had a look of overwhelming despair on her face. She just went limp and shut herself down, knowing that her life was now at an end. N regained his sanity as his optics flashed back to his eyes and looked at Uzi with guilt. His mind on what he had just done. Not even Uzi deserved this.
"Whoa, N!" A voice called out. N turned to see J and V crawling on the ceiling and then landing on the floor. N used his wing to toss the shut down Uzi aside, "Am I dreaming, or did you do something not useless, for once?" J asked with praise.
"I've been trying to get past those doors for months. Nice work, N," V cheered, giving N a wink.
N waved awkwardly. But then he looked in shock as V said N's name, "...You... Me... Name... Remember...?"
"These ventilation shafts can easily get us around this last door. Lowest body count eats a missile!" V challenged before flying up the shaft.
"Way to go, stud. The company's gonna love this," J praised, giving N pats on the back, "With this colony wiped, we'll make top team this quarter, for sure. You know what that means... Branded pens!" J sang, holding up and clicking a JCJenson brand pen, to N's joy. J dropped the pen into N's hands. J then prepared to fly off to catch up with V.
N looked at the pen with the company logo on it. After seeing what Uzi had just been through and what she told him: what if the company just found them expendable at best and to them, they wouldn't be missed if the either completed their mission or if they were sent to the scrap heap, "...Uh, you know, not that I can't wait to keep murdering all these, uh, maybe not-so-actually different from us Worker Drones, but, just out of curiosity, do we actually, uh, know what the company plans to do with us afterwards...?" N asked.
Uzi woke up and looked over at N. J then unfolded her wings and looked at N, "Excuse me...?" she questioned, putting her hands on her hips.
"Okay, so, a worker earlier might have suggested that they could fix up our landing pod to, uh, escape the planet and stuff, which, whoa, hey, that's against the rules! But, it is kind of making me question why our pods were only one way in the first place. Cause, you know, I get the feeling the company doesn't actually love robots, and like we might be robots. I've made a terrible mistake. It's cool how immediately I could tell," N explained, knowing the trouble he was now in.
"Hmm... No way, buddy. Questioning the company? You just finally gave me the excuse I needed," J responded. She jabbed into N's chest. On his chest, J had injected a virus into N's system as his optics changed to a warning sign, "Worker drones are corrupted, N. That's why the company sent us. I hate to see you corrupted as well," J told N.
N was on his knees as an error message was seen on his optics, "Thanks, J... Always looking out for me... You're awesome..." N slurred before he collapsed.
J gave N a mock wave before flying up to catch up with V and hunt the remaining Worker Drones.
Uzi woke up and looked at the shaft that J got in. She then went to her railgun, determined to fix the mess she made. She then looked at N, who was still infected with the virus.
"Ah, biscuits. I'm sorry. I ruined your card game, then made you have an awkward moment with your dad," N apologized
"And I made you rebel like an angsty teen, which got you killed. Though, you also tried to kill me, so morality calls this a draw," Uzi said. She pulled a box and climbed the top of it in an attempt to reach the vent. Though unsurprisingly, she can't reach the vent, "Ugh...For the record, that was the lamest heel-face turn in history. Was that supposed to be you switching sides?" Uzi demanded.
"Being rebellious is a lot harder than it looks. Thanks for showing me the ropes," N answered.
"Nuh-uh, no bonding thing. You just killed a bunch of people, idiot," Uzi condemned, raising an eyebrow.
"That's super fair..." N sighed, "I screwed up...
Uzi let out a loud groan, "In the same way you're about to fix it?" she said, showing a wrench.
"Hahaha! I love doing anything!" N laughed, giving a thumbs up, with the optics changing to "I'M LITERALLY ABOUT TO DIE."
One of the drones, Thad, was flung backwards. Two female Workers rushed to help him as J arrived with a headless corpse of a Worker Drone. Khan was looking scared, "So... They found our evacuation spot. But, if we build a quick door..." Khan asked.
Thad got up and picked up a stove pipe to defend himself, "Are you kidding me?! You're the WDF, right? Defend!" Thad commanded. But Khan and his friends backed off like cowards, "For real?" Thad moaned.
V arrived upside down and impaled Thad with her wing. She then wrestled Thad to the ground and impaled him with her claws, laughing sadistically. But just as she was about to kill him and drink him of his oil...
"Hey!" A voice called to her. Uzi had arrived to the rescue with N in tow, "Put that conventionally attractive male down!" Uzi called out, grinning. She then noticed N waving and nudged him.
"Oh! Uh, J, you're sometimes kind of mean to me, and I wish you weren't. Just some constructive criticism," N criticized weakly. N looked at Uzi, "Nice," she praised. They fist bumped.
"Noted, traitor. We'll circle back after I right-size your existence!" J threatened.
(Last of the Wilds - Nightwish)
J's alarm suddenly blared and she dodged in time as a staff crashed through the ceiling. The cudgel was red with the tips being gold. Snow and frosty wind entered the facility, obscuring the area. The drones scanned the area. J and V were ready for combat.
After a few seconds, a pair of yellow eyes lit up in the dust. J and V raised their brow. Then two more pairs lit up. Finally, the figure picked it up and spun his cudgel, clearing the air before slinging the staff on his shoulders. Uzi and N looked at the newcomers. Were they friend or foe? She noticed that the three had syringe tails. These were Disassembly Drones based on the tails. But there was something different about the three. They were sleeker in appearance. The monkey one was slimmer, the pig drone was fat, and the river monster was skinny. Had J and V called for backup? They were about to get their answer.
"Who are you? You look different," J raised her brow. V had an X for eyes and flew at the monkey one. Both her claws and staff clashed. The pig and river monster drone brandished weapons of their own. A rake and a monk spade. J couldn't help but laugh the weapon selection the pig one had, "Oink! What's so funny?" the pig one challenged.
"Ooh, are you two Disassembly Drones? You two look like you put up a good fight," the monkey one challenged.
This gave Uzi and idea, "Okay, which one do you want?" she asked.
"J, please," N answered, not wanting to harm V.
"Too bad. Good luck," Uzi grinned mischievously before clicking her pen and throwing it at J's hair, which damaged headband, spraying it's fluids and causing J to flinch. Zhubop and Kujing decided to assist Uzi with dealing with J, "I don't know what your name is, but we overheard your conversation with that other Disassembly Drone. Consider us allies," Kujing replied.
Uzi shrugged. Perhaps this will make the mess fixing done faster.
Meanwhile, N was left to deal with V, who was all the more eager to tear the traitor to shreds. But not without Kong joining in, "I like them fiery. This outta be a good fight," Kong challenged.
"And who are you? I don't think I've seen your type of Disassembly Drones before," N asked.
"Call me Kong," Kong introduced.
V was manical with glee and turned her hands to blades and unfurled her metallic wings, flying at both N and Kong. N looked in shock while Kong had a look of excited glee and rushed at V, laughing all the while.
Zhubop and Kujing were protecting Uzi so she could aim her railgun. Still in pain, J turned her hand into a machine gun and fired shots, managing to knock Uzi down and then yanking the pen out of her headband, "Damn the well-made quality assured durability of JCJensen's products!" she cursed. She found that Uzi was on the move, "Huh?"
Uzi jumped up and delivered a kick to the Disassembly Drone's face, spraying more of the liquid and dealing pain to J. Zhubop and Kujing tackled the Disassembly Drone and knocked her down. Uzi caught her railgun and had a smug look. However, she ducked in time of a beam attack, accidentally dropping the weapon.
N was knocked to the wall and barely dodged a blast from a laser cannon from V. Kong managed to dodge the beams. The Disassembly Drone was preparing another attack. N did so as well with his own laser cannon...but instead, hearts shot out instead. N panicked, "Ah! My mind's in a weird place! Don't read into this!" he cried. A missile was shot beside him and exploded. N and V were engaged in the sword fight with Kong fighting alongside N.
J yanked the pen from her optics and crushed it. Thanks to the stabbing in the optics, her vision was blurry a bit, but she managed to locate Uzi about to fire her railgun. J activated an EMP blast, which caused Uzi's system to shut down. Kujing panicked and put his monk spear around J to prevent her advance. Zhubop went over to smack J, "Hey, you feminal jerkwad!" Zhubop called out.
J just smirked and used her wings to shove Kujing aside and clashed with the pig drone. Kujing joined in on the fight and dug into the earth, his fins sticking out like a shark. Both Zhubop and J were in a weapon lock, J's being arm blades and Zhubop's rake, "You're pretty persistent for an idiotic fat pig! And I hate persistence," J spat.
"You think you're gonna beat me just because of agility alone, oink oink? Ha!" Zhubop shot back. He then pushed the female Disassembly Drone and swung his rake up. To J's surprise, when he swung down, it created a gust of wind, causing her to get knocked back. Kujing sprang from the ground and wrestled her to the ground.
"I've had enough of this!" J shrieked. She escaped the sea monster drone's grip and threw him at Zhubop. She then fired a missile, which sent them flying. With them out of the way, J began making her way towards the shut down Uzi, a sadistic grin on her face.
Kong and N were engaged in battle with V in the air. Kong was slashed to the side and was reduced to a liquid. Then the staff smacked V to the face, "What?!" V exclaimed, "Oops, that was my clone you just attacked," Kong laughed. V's optics were still an X, "Yes...aside from the dunderhead, it looks like I got myself a fight I've been itching for," V said.
Kong twirled his cudgel and joined with N, "How did you do that?" N asked.
"I can pull my hair strands out, coat it in my saliva, and then it can create up to a maximum of three clones. Perfect for fakeouts," Kong explained.
Then the three clashed with V again. This time however, they were struggling. N then noticed that Uzi was not moving and J was advancing towards her, "UZI!" N screamed.
N was regret doing this to his crush, "I'm so, so sorry. Have fun repressing this," N said apologetically.
Kong looked at N, "What are you doing?" he asked.
Then N licked V's swords, causing her to recoil in disgust, "EW! What the hell?!" V gagged.
This allowed N and Kong to knock her down to the ground.
Uzi was back online and reached for her railgun, but J kicked it away and as she spoke, words momentarily flashed, Now Playing: 3, "You've got a lot of guts for a barely sentient toaster. I've had prey fight fact before, but your edgy spirit is just... so... painful...?!" she stopped when felt pain on her foot. Uzi, while J was monologuing, jammed the syringe tail into her foot. The acid from the syringe becoming painful as J began hopping on one foot.
"GAH! FOUR! QUARTER! PROFITS! MOTHERF-! COMPANY ISSUED RETREATS!" J screamed. She then tripped on a piece of rubble and fell over. Seeing the opportunity, Kong took three strands of his hair, coated it in saliva, and threw it, creating three clones which both grabbed J. Two for each of her arms, and the third for both her legs to keep her from escaping.
Uzi pointed her railgun at her face, "One more buzzword and I'll do it!" Uzi threatened with an evil smile.
Knowing that she was now done fore, J spoke, "Equity partnersh-"
Uzi pulled the trigger and J was engulfed in a green light. She pulled back and spat at what's left of the Disassembly Drone's corpse, "Well, would you look at that, her top half has been atomized," Kong laughed.
The drones that were hiding came out and cheered Uzi. The teen looked at them before she fell over from exhaustion. N caught her before she fell to the ground.
Kong, Zhubop, and Kujing bowed in respect.
"Holy hell, Uzi, that was insane! And you too, uh..." Thad thanked before turning to N.
"Huh? Oh! N! I'm an angsty rebellious disassembly drone, now," N replied, his optics showing digital sunglasses.
"And we are Disassembly Drone peacekeepers: Kong, Zhubop, and I, Kujing," Kujing responded.
"It's too bad. J was a worthy opponent," Kong said. He then turned to V, "Oh well, at least she's still online,"
They then heard someone clear their throat. It was Khan. Upon seeing him, Uzi threw her wrench back at his feet, heartbreak at her father's betrayal at leaving her to die, "I brought the murder drones here accidentally. You chose to leave me for dead instead of just freaking believing in me! That's not even an edgy teen hyperbole like when I said it last week!" Uzi protested. There was no response as Khan's friends looked at him.
Uzi was near tears. The three Pilgrims looked at Uzi with empathy and glared at Khan but said nothing. Uzi smacked herself and regained her composure, with her optics reading, EDGE LEVELS: CRITICALLY LOW, before it was restored to 100%, "I'll save you the trouble dad. I banish myself!" she concluded.
Khan tried to speak up but can't find the words as his cowardice was weighing in on him. He looked down in shame as if he was asking himself, what had he done.
"Let's go, N. Everyone here can bite me!" Uzi ordered.
N grabbed V and they begin to leave
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Uzi!" N said.
Uzi smacked him, "Shut it," Uzi chastised him.
N took off with Uzi and V through the ceiling. Kong summoned a cloud from the sky and he and the other Pilgrim drones hopped on before flying off to join the other three.
Khan had a look of disappointment on his face as he took a sip from his mug that said, "#1 DAD," which is what an ironic mockery that mug said due to the events that transpired.
Out in the frozen wilderness, with the sun rising over the horizon even as the snow fell. Uzi was sitting on top of a broken car, trapped in her thoughts. Meanwhile, Kong, Zhubop, Kujing, and N were lodged inside the Corpse House. N poked his head out to speak to UziI'd join you if the sun didn't kill me. Hope you're having important character growth or something, though!" N called out.
Inside, V looked at the three Murder Drones that she had fought earlier, especially Kong.
"So...where did you three come from?" N asked.
Kujing explained that they had awoken in an underground laboratory and when they woke up, they saw Kong watching a video log made from their deceased master, Liuer Tripitaka, who created them to be peacekeepers despite being Murder Drones. The only thing they left out since in case they were still on the side of the JCJenson company, they left out things such as rogue drones, the AbsoluteSolver, and their ability to think, feel, and react."
"Interesting, I'm Serial Designation N. And of course, you may know V already," N introduced himself.
V said nothing as she was chained up.
Meanwhile, outside the Corpse House, Uzi was contemplating her plan, "Just can't wait to murder all humans. Classic robot stuff. I hope they're sitting pretty there on Earth, because we're coming for them...!" Uzi said, laughing maniacally as her sanity has completely vanished. A symbol flashed on her left eye digit for a brief moment as she laughed. Unbeknownst to her, three drone pods were making their way towards the exoplanet of Copper-9. This was where our troubles would begin...
Elsewhere on the planet...
On the other side of the world, a blistering frost storm was howling strongly across the land. But we see what appears to be a Worker Drone wrapped in a long-tattered cloak, a cone hat on his head. He was trudging across the frozen landscape. Suddenly, three killer robots appeared in an attempt to ambush the Worker, thinking he'd be easy prey.
Little did they know, it would be the last mistake they make. The figure brandished a steel sword with a triangle-shaped blade underneath his cloak. The blade crackled with lightning. His violet digital eyes flashing in the frozen darkness as he prepared to fight...
And...we're here at the end of the chapter.
As you can see from Kong, Zhubop, and Kujing, they are modeled like Liuer said, based on the three Pilgrims that served as Tripitaka's bodyguards in Journey to the West: Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie aka Pigsy, and Sha Wujing aka Sandy.
See if you can find the many references to Journey to the West in this chapter.
Also as you saw, that was a tease of another character soon to join the mayhem. I'm basing this character based on the Shinto Japanese deity, Susanoo (plz leave your Naruto references at home since that's not what I'm going for. Geez, try googling Susanoo by the name alone and it will mistake it for something out of Naruto), and Zero...the Mega Man Zero version of Zero hence the triangle blade.
I'm looking forward to writing this fanfic.
Til then, keep on rocking...
