"Why did Neelix lie to me?" The little girl Shepard had come to know as Naomi asked her. "Why did he pretend everything was fine?" The look of despair in her eyes the same Shepard had had at sixteen.
"Come here." She brought the child into a hug, thinking of her own parents. "We aren't sure where your mother is, Naomi, but your Captain won't stop until she and the others are brought home." She caught the girl's eyes with her own. "We will find them Naomi." She reassured. "We won't leave your mother or any of the others behind."
