Day 3 of Christmas Ficlet Series Disclaimer: I Own Nothing
I got the idea for this story after hearing about the passing of a precious brown lab named Hershey. He meant a lot to me.
Anyways onto the story
Sam grinned, laughing and feeling more carefree than he had in years.
Gabriel was out in the backyard, running around while being chased by a gleefully barking brown lab puppy. Sam chuckled as the dog pounced against the back of Gabe's legs causing them to buckle and they both tumbled down. Gabriel shrieked and laughed as the puppy attacked his face, licking and barking.
"Oh help me! He's going to kill me, maim me, destroy this beautiful face!"
Sam snorted at the last comment, knowing fully well that Gabriel could just heal himself within seconds of getting injured.
"Sam! You just gonna let it kill me!" Gabriel was able to get out before the dog pounced again cutting off Gabriel's ability to speak.
Sam rolled his eyes, giving an exasperated sigh and left the deck heading towards them.
Upon reaching the shrieking man, a hand quickly shot up grabbing a hold of his jeans and jerked him down, causing a slightly girlish shriek to come from him as he landed on Gabriel and the dog.
The three of them rolled around and played for a good 20 minutes before the puppy plopped down on Gabriel, falling right to sleep.
Sam smiled affectionately as he reached out, softly petting the dog.
"Thanks, again." Gabriel said softly, placing a light kiss on Sam's neck.
Sam smiled and ran his other hand through Gabriel's hair. "Well you kept talking about how a home isn't a proper home without some sort of pet. And as soon as I saw him, I knew you'd like him."
"He is the perfect Christmas present."
Sam nodded, kissing Gabe lightly before frowning.
"You know it's been 3 days since I brought him home, have you thought of a name yet?"
Gabriel looked at the dog for a moment before smiling softly, "Hershey, we'll call him Hershey."
