"Greetings Mr Potter," sneered Lord Voldermort.
"Hello Thomas," replied Midori as calmly as possible. "Having a nice day?"
Voldermort scowled at the use of his real name. "Yes it has been very nice," he jeered. "And yourself? I believe congratulations are in order. Fifteen. Did you have a pleasant birthday?"
Midori couldn't believe it; he was making… small talk with the Dark Lord. "It was very nice until now. Don't get me wrong it is an… interesting development in my day but I would have preferred some notice next time." Oh god please don't be a next time. "How did you get into my apartment Thomas Riddle? I had many wards on it. And why did you forge my friend's handwriting?"
A twitch was starting on Voldermort's right eye. "Don't insult me Mr Potter, nothing short of the Fidelius Charm would keep me out and of course, as you know, that doesn't always stop me. As for the letter what makes you think it was forged?"
A cold feeling began to take place in his stomach. Lies, lies, lies.
Voldermort smirked. "I can't read your mind Mr Potter but I can read your face and I am not lying. Oh Dear Mr Longbottom was quite upset to hear his new friend was lying to him. He was so upset he wanted revenge and so he came to me" He smiled sickly.
"No," Midori whispered. "You are lying. It's what you do, you lie and you manipulate. You're collecting a lot of bad karma Thomas."
"Oh yes I have been informed of your preferred religion and values. I am sure non-violence is against it. How do you expect defeat me if you won't attack me?" he mocked.
Midori smiled calmly. "With the number of sins you have accumulated Thomas I feel the universe will make sure you get your just reward."
Riddle's red eyes flashed angrily that he wasn't going to get a rise out of the boy. "Malfoy! Nott!" he barked. Two masked men came out of the shadows.
"Yes master?" they said together.
"Take the brat down to McNair in the dungeons. See how tranquil and pious he is after a few hours with our torture specialist."
-
Lily Potter paced in her living room frantically. Her son Midori hadn't arrived that morning for his much dreaded 'lessons' with Albus Dumbledore. He hadn't the lessons but he wasn't the type to just skip.
Sitting at the living room table were her equally worried husband and son.
"Where is he?" she burst out in frustration. "He wouldn't just skip James! He wouldn't!"
"I know he wouldn't Lils," calmed James, "But he might have gotten lost in the floo system. It happens."
"He doesn't take the floo!" she yelled. "He apparates! He can get through wards remember? What is You-Kno-"
The door burst open and with a loud bang and a frightened Severus Snape flew through the door, without his usual grace. "LILY!" he yelled, making James scowl.
"Not the
time Sev," grumbled Lily. "We're trying to find-"
"Midori!"
he yelled, not listening to her. "The Dark Lord got him last night!
He wouldn't let me leave until now! Lily we have to get him out,
the Dark Lord gave him to McNair!"
Matt's face drained as he remembered the sadistic Ministry executioner. He shuddered at the thought of his twin at the foul man's mercy.
"WHAT?" screamed Lily. "WELL WHY HAVEN'T YOU GOTTEN HIM OUT YOU ROTTEN GREAT BAT?"
If it hadn't been so serious James would have smirked with pride.
Severus flinched but held his ground. "I couldn't Lily. It would have given my position as spy away. As much as we need Midori I'm still needed there too. I'm so-"
He was cut off by Lily grabbing the front of his robes and, with amazing skill for such a tiny woman picked him up and slammed him against the wall.
"I don't give two shits about you playing James Bond," she growled, even thought Severus had no idea who James Blonde was. "You get my son back or I will make it so you can never produce children! Got it?" She dropped him violently.
"Go mum," whispered Matt.
"James," Lily barked, "Go find Moody, Sirius and Remus. Matt contact the Weasleys and Kuragi. Snape!" he winced at the use of his last name. "Go back to your master," she spat with vengeance, "and find out all you can. Midori should have been able to apparate through You-Know-Who's wards if he can apparate through Hogwarts'. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named probably put a block on his powers. NOW!" she screamed at the three terrified men who scrambled out of their chairs, or in Severus' case off the floor.
Lily ran her hand through her hair and went over the fireplace. She threw in a handful of floo powder.
"Alice Longbottom."
The fire flared up but Alice's head did not appear. Instead Lily could hear screaming coming through the floo system.
'NEVILLE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" Alice's anguished voice yelled.
A/N: Lots of cliffies and short chapters huh? I am so not popular now aren't I?
Ok we need a title people! I am very sick of seeing Untitled every time I open this fict. And I only have one idea.
Harry Potter: The Problem Who Lived.
You know, in regards to Dumbles seeing him as a problem and wanting him dead. Now that's a pretty shit title so unless you want to be stuck with that GIVE ME IDEAS PLEASE! I beg of you! Free internet cookies to who ever comes up with the best one.
Now reviews… yes reviews. We made it to over 200 I am very please :) so thankyou all very much.
Petites Sorcieres: Haha sorry! No I don't think his Horcrux should be the last thing he does because honestly would you rather go after scattered souls or the one stuck in you giving you massive head aches and really freaky dreams? I'm going from a logic point of view thing here, not an adventure story one. Which will probably be my downfall but meh.
Airlady: I know! I've been told repeatedly this week that I am very, very cruel to my characters, I guess the past few chapters have just highlighted this. Damn.
