"Jacob shall be joining us soon; I can feel it." Sam muttered quietly.
"Of course he's going to be joining us, Sam. He has to. He has it on both sides." Paul grabbed a twig off the ground. He tossed it into the ocean, sending a ripple through the water.
We had been walking up and down the beach for what felt like hours. Sam had called us together to talk, but we hadn't talked the entire time; until now.
"Yeah, why are you worrying? The kid will be with us soon enough." I walked up next to Sam. Paul took two strides and was next to me in an instant.
Sam sighed. "I hope you're right, Jared."
"I know I'm right."
"Shouldn't we be going back? Em's probably freaked out." Paul began walking towards the eastern edge of the shore.
"Why would Emily freak out? We're a bunch of werewolves; we can take care of ourselves." I ran towards Paul.
Sam followed quietly, kicking small stones as he walked.
After the hours we had spent silent, the short time it took to reach Emily's was nothing. Actually, in a way, it was slightly comforting. It allowed me to think- not that I have much to think about, but still.
As we neared the door, I could see Emily mixing something in a bowl through the window. When she saw me, she smiled warmly and waved. I smiled and waved back.
Sam opened the door and stepped inside. He embraced Emily in a hug, and kissed her good cheek. She smiled up at him, her russet skin glowing.
"What's up guys?" Emily greeted us as she returned to stirring.
"Nothing much." Paul rolled his eyes. "We were just talking about Jacob. Again."
Emily frowned. "Stop worrying about him, Sam. He'll come around soon enough."
"Hope your right." Sam slumped his shoulders.
"I hope so too."
