Maryse's POV

Mike's mom and I stayed over night with him. He's been looking better, which was a really good sign. Today I was alone with him. His mother had to run errands for Mike's sister, who was getting married... I think she said in a week? I can't be too sure.

"Come on Mike... You can do it." I muttered, looking at his blood pressure.

A stir on the bed made me look down at him. He'd shifted around and was on his side now! I screamed and called for the doctor. I was rushed out as doctors flooded in. I backed up, leaning against the wall. I sighed. Geez, doctors can be so rude.

I looked in from the window, as I watched the doctors take blood pressure, check breathing, and all the other doctor stuff. I backed up, leaning against the wall. I couldn't help but look into another window. I gasped.

That little girl! That girl at the Eiffel Tower! I watched as a doctor came out of the room next to her.

"Hey, what happened to this little girl?" I asked, pulling the doctor to the window.

"Oh, her? She was brought in last night. She was supposedly found in an alley, bleeding everywhere. She was raped also, looked like a gang's work." The doctor shook his head.

I gasped, letting tears flow into my eyes. If I helped, things would've been different. If I hadn't gone into the Eiffel Tower, Mike wouldn't be in a damn coma and this girl wouldn't have been raped! It's all because of me!

"Tragedy, isn't it?" The doctor said, trying to keep a conversation, and failing.

"Yes..." I replied, blinking away the tears.

"Sooo, how about this weather?"

"Doctor, don't you have a job to get back to?"

The doctor blinked them laughed. "Why yes, I do."

I made sure the doctor was out of sight before I walked into the little girl's room. I closed the door behind me, tiptoeing towards a chair. I accidentally knocked over some vials on the counter. "Damn." I muttered as I looked up to see the girl's eyes on me.

She screamed loudly. "No, no! Don't scream! I won't hurt you! Je ne vais pas vous blesser!" I assured her, putting my hand over her mouth. I heard loud jingling coming closer, so I slipped under the bed. I held my breath as a doctor walked in.

"Quoi de Trinité mal?" The doctor asked. 'What's wrong Trinity?' So her name is Trinity.

"J'étais juste effrayé par ces fioles, rien de mal." The girl replied. 'I was just scared by those vials, nothing's wrong.'

"Très bien. Je vais vous laisser ici, alors." The doctor said, leaving. 'Alright. I'll just leave you to it then.'

"Vous pouvez sortir maintenant." The little girl assured. 'You can some out now.'

"Merci." I muttered, letting my breath out as I got out from under the bed. "Eww, so dirty down there!" I said, dusting myself off. Trinity looked at me as if I was an alien.

"Qu'est-ce?" Trinity asked. 'What?'

"Jamais l'esprit. Donc ce qui s'est passé ... la nuit dernière?" I asked. 'Never mind. So what happened... last night?'

Trinity sighed, letting tears fall from her eyes. "Oh, no, no, don't cry." I said, going over to the little girl, giving her a hug.

"Ils m'ont violée!" The girl cried, gasping for air. 'They raped me!'

"Qui Trinité? Qui?!" I asked. 'Who Trinity? Who?' Even though I had a good idea.

"Mon papa! Et ses deux autres amis!" Trinity said through gasps, crying harder. 'My daddy! And his two other friends!'

I shook my head in anger. "Dites à la police. Okay? Il a besoin d'aller en prison." I said. 'Tell the police. Okay? He needs to go to jail.'

"Non, non! S'il vous plaît pas! Il va me tuer!" Trinity begged. 'No, no! Please don't! He'll kill me!'

"Trinité, il doit être mis à la justice." I said, hugging her tight. 'Trinity, he has to be put to justice.'

"Non, pas maintenant. S'il vous plaît." Trinity begged. 'No, not now. Please.'

I sighed. "Beaux-Trinité, vous gagnez. Je dois y aller maintenant, mais je promets d'être de retour bientôt." I said before walking out. 'Fine Trinity, you win. I have to go now, but I promise to be back soon.' I sighed, leaning against the wall beside Mike's room. I could have helped that girl, but I didn't. Now, I have to make up for it.
