Title: Dead
Character: Narcissa Malfoy.
Notes: This is a freeverse poem one the thoughts of the mother that history forgot. I am in love with this, so I hope you enjoy!
Did it make her less of a mother?
It's what she wondered,
when she was dealing with the devil,
dying,
d-y-i-n-g
(dead)
.
Did it make her l-e-s-s of a mother if she,
in all her glory,
LIVED?
.
Because she didn't die for him -
oh, but she would've,
given the chance,
and therefore,
did she love him less?
Did Harry Potter have a better mother than Draco Malfoy
just because she was dead?
.
Narcissa Malfoy always envied Lily Potter.
Lily was a saint
because she loved her son
and Narcissa?
Narcissa was a sinner,
because she loved her son.
.
Did it make her less of a mother
if her darling son
LIVED?
.
Because she didn't fight for him -
of course, she did,
they just didn't see it
(BLIND) -
and therefore,
was she less worthy because,
despite her parentage,
her upbringing,
her husband,
her sister,
her,
she wasn't a killer?
.
Narcissa Malfoy always resented Molly Weasley.
Molly was a lover,
who fought for her son
and Narcissa?
Narcissa was a fighter who,
though no one knew it,
loved her son.
.
Did it make her less of a mother?
Because Lily Evans died for her son;
Molly Prewett fought for her son
and Narcissa Black lied for her son.
She doesn't know if that's
b/e/t/t/e/r or worse...
.
"Dead."
