Aims to address such questions as: What if there was more to the Blake Association after RJ's death? What if Lisbon was not entirely OOC for the whole season? Haven't written or posted in a long time, so please be patient.

One decision changes the lens through which all the decisions that follow are considered. AU. The story is set in seasons 1-4, but contains spoilers through early season 6.

The start of Episode 10, Lisbon and Jane are discussing going away for the weekend. Lisbon tells Jane, "when you said let's go away for the weekend...", this is my adaptation on how this started. Picks up between S7 Episode 9 and 10.

He missed his family. Not the one in the graveyard. They were gone. He'd accepted that long ago. He meant the family he'd lost to the crap storm that incinerated the CBI and decimated California law enforcement agencies. Never let it be said the FBI wasn't thorough. They were. Just not thorough enough. A few rats escaped the sinking ship.

Teresa Lisbon, an FBI special agent. Patrick Jane, a doctor. Gunshot, blood, Morphine, Tramadol, sarcasm, et cetera, et cetera. Unspoken words, sealed with a kiss, they part ways. And then a year later, they meet again in a foreign land.

"Uh." He can't help letting his eyes dart back to Teresa's empty desk. "I was in town for a consult on a case, and… Is Teresa here?" Marcus finds out what's changed in the Austin office since he moved.

lisbon needs a date to her brother's wedding and jane is more than happy to oblige.

Jane is desperate... he doesn't want to lose Lisbon but she's moving to D.C. with Pike. Lisbon is tired of Jane's games and lies and just wants to move on. Jane gets one last shot at winning Lisbon, but he must find a way to break through all her barriers and get her to trust him for them to have a future together.

Lisbon gets promoted to the job in DC, but Pike doesn't exist in this version. The Bluebird con still happens, because Jane still doesn't want to lose her to a new job & city. She deserves the promotion, but why hadn't she asked him to come too? (currently one-shot, but hoping to expand) okay with a 3rd chapter now i suppose it's officially a multi-chapter! :)

Lisbon goes to DC and marries Marcus Pike, has some kids with him, and then one day hears news that Patrick Jane has been killed by an angry suspect in Austin. Now nothing will ever be okay, ever again. (No worries - this is a Jisbon story! and my first fanfic - which is exciting/terrifying!) Rated T/M for some sexy scenes & occasional minor language.

It contains tons of fluff with bits of romance, comforting, bantering, and comedy that eventually lead to some fun, sexy Jisbon moments.
