Chapter 5:
I needed to get my mind on something else, not Ron, not the wedding , Or life I was supposed to have, and not Draco Malfoy. I looked out my window in my room, and notice that the sun was coming up. I smiled inwardly, and knew what would really clear my head. I put on a white top, and black running shorts, and a pair of my old sneakers. I knew a run around the property would be perfect. I had been wanting to explore since I had arrived. I quietly left with out waking anyone, and started to run down the dirt path road. I loved the feel of the cool dew air in the morning. I was peaceful. I passed both cabins about the same size as the one I was staying I that Ginny was talking about earlier. I got deeper along the path where I was only surrounded by trees, and I just continued to run, and block out all thoughts.
Things in my life lately have been out of order ,and I missed my structure that I used to have. I used to be able to laugh , and have fun, and still work around everything. I was the reasonable structured one, now I was a mess. I continued to run passed more trees, until it seemed I was going down hill along the path. I ended up right below Blaise's property, where the beach was. I could see the light house in the distance. I stopped running and stared out into the ocean. I could feel the salty air on my face, and noticed how much I absolutely loved this view it was something straight out of a history book. I sat down in the sand and laid down staring up at the sky as the sun was now up. I realized that Ginny and the others would probably be getting up soon so I should make my way back to the cottage.
Meanwhile back at the cottage. Ginny was making breakfast in the kitchen. She had gotten up shortly after I had left to make everyone a proper breakfast. You could smell a heavenly aroma all through out the cottage. Draco was the next to come out.
" What is that amazing smell?" He smirked as he walked into the kitchen hovering in the doorway. Ginny looked back at him and grinned.
" Oh it's just a little breakfast" Draco walked over to see what she was making. She had a bowl full of eggs, butter milk biscuits, bacon, blintzes, and sausage.
" A little breakfast?" He laughed.
" Ok, so I love to cook, and your just going to have to deal with having all of your meals prepared for you these next two weeks!" she teased. He laughed and shook his head.
" No complaints here." Soon Blaise walked into the room fully dressed in blue jeans and a black button up shirt.
" Oh of course you would be making breakfast." He walked up to Ginny and put his hands around her waist.
" Hey, come on now, do that in the privacy of your room!" Draco joked trying to pretend to cover his eyes. Blaise threw a towel at his friend and Ginny started laughing.
" Where's Hermione?" Blaise looked around and noticed I wasn't there, or in my room.
" Yea, I'd have figured Granger would be the first one up." Draco noted. Ginny just smiled, and pointed to the window. She knew that I loved to take my morning runs. It was how I started my days.
As I started making my way back to the cottage I could smell breakfast cooking ,and I knew Ginny was already up, and I was in for one of Ginny's amazing Breakfasts. I remember Ginny would always cook meals with her mother. That's one thing that I had missed about being at the Burrow was Molly ,and Ginny's cooking. I slowed down as I came back up the path and entered the door.
As soon as I entered I noticed that everyone was in the room, and all eyes were on me. I was all sweaty, and wearing tight running clothes. Ginny was in light blue pajama bottoms, and a long white tee, Blaise was fully dressed, and Draco wore a pair of black shorts and a baggy white tee. I was relieved he was wearing more clothes than he was last night. I noticed his eyes were glued to me. Why was he staring at me?
" Good morning 'Mione Did you have a nice run?"
" Good morning everyone! Yes, thank you I had a very nice run." She started to put food along the table. " Blaise the property is simply beautiful." He looked at me and nodded.
" I am glad you like it. Did you see the beach and the view from the light house?"
" I had taken the path all the way down to the beach, but I didn't get to go over to the light house yet, maybe next time"
" Yes, well you have to go inside the view is amazing from up there."
" Believe me you wont regret it." I started to make my way up to get a shower.
" Where do you think your going?" Ginny stopped me pointing a fork at me.
" Going to freshen up" I answered like it was the stupidest question ever asked.
" Eat first"
" Gin, I'm all gross and sweaty." I tried to argue ,but it was no use arguing with her.
" Hermione Jean Granger sit down and eat, I got up and made this nice breakfast for everyone and were going to eat together." I had to say one thing for Ginny was she was amazing at guilt trips. She would make a great mother one day. I sighed. Then I took a seat next to Draco, who was staring at me through the corner of his eyes, making me nervous.
We sat around making small talk about this weeks plans. Apparently Ginny had every moment planned out for us. After everyone was done eating, I had excused myself to get cleaned up before this mornings activities.
There were two bathrooms in the whole place, one downstairs next to may room, and one upstairs next to Ginny and Blaise's room. I walked into the spacious bathroom next to my room, that I had to share with Draco. I turned on the hot water, and began to slowly get undressed. I got into the shower and let the hot water hit my body. I closed my eyes as the memories started to come back to me.
" Your so beautiful" Ron whispered in my ear as he led my up the stairs to his private bathroom. Everyone had gone out that evening. I had no idea that this would be the night things would have gotten so intimate between us. He turned on the shower, and started to slowly undress me ,and I began to undress him as well. I was so nervous and felt so vulnerable. He had promised that I was safe with him.
I turned the water off ,and tried to bring myself back to reality. I dried my hair with my towel and threw my silk purple knee length robe around me. I was making my way back to m room, but as I opened the door, there was Malfoy.
" OH!" I gasped obviously startled ,and not expecting anyone ,let alone him to be standing there. He stood there in front of me just staring at me. I stared back, holding my robe shut. " Malfoy?" What did he want?
" Look Granger I just wanted to say these are going to be two long weeks if w keep hating each other." He scratched his head, and I noticed his eyes travel down my body. He did it so quickly that I don't think I was supposed to notice. " So I was wondering if you would just call a truce. I know you still don't trust me after all of these years, but I'm really not that bad of a guy once you get to know me" he really seemed to be trying to prove that he had changed and get on my good side. Ginny was right I should try, for her any way. I nodded.
" Ok, sure.. We can start over" He smiled.
" Good…" He trailed off and we both stood there awkwardly.
" Well, I should get dressed." I motioned toward the door to my room, and he nodded.
" Oh right sorry, of course. Go put some clothes on Granger!" I instantly blushed as he said that, remembering last night when I had suggested that he put on some clothes.
This was going to be interesting. I guess Malfoy could prove to be a real human being, with real feelings. After all he was probably doing it for Blaise.
