Chapter 5

If I was a zombie, I'd eat JK Rowling's brain because then technically I'd have the brain that dreamt up Harry Potter. But I'm not a zombie so I can't. Oh well. Harry Potter is still hers (and I'm not a psychopath...)

They were still laughing as they walked into the kitchen a few minutes later and just as they began to calm down enough to eat, Teddy and Victoire walked in, looking bright red and avoiding everyone's gaze and another round of laughing began.

"So, I take it you are more than friends?" Lupin asked, a smile still playing on his lips.

"What do you mean, more than friend's'' Bill asked as he walked into the kitchen and took of his cloak.

"We just walked in on these two in a veeeeery compromising position" Fred said, winking at Teddy and Victoire.

"Y'know they're married right?" Albus said through a mouthful of toast.

"What!" Everyone at the table stopped and looked towards the couple.

"You are married! Why didn't you tell us?" Molly squealed in delight.

"We just didn't want to announce it right after telling you about people dying…" Teddy murmured.

"Oh sweetie, it would only have cheered us up, now you're a member of the Weasley family too!" Molly smiled, hugging the two of them.

There was a loud crash form outside the kitchen door,

"So what's on the agenda for today?" Tonks asked, entering the kitchen, her face flushed.

"You can start by fixing whatever you just broke" Molly scolded, "and we need to get this place cleaned up, we'll do the drawing room after we've finished eating okay? By the way, you have a daughter-in-law" she added with a smile.

"Wha-YOU'RE MARRIED!" Tonks ran over to Teddy and Victoire and wrapped and arm around each of their necks.

"Eat, then clean" Molly reminded them.

Everyone nodded half-heartedly and tried to eat as slowly as possible.

Soon after everyone was standing in the drawing room ready to spray some doxy's. After that, everyone began clearing out old cabinets and drawers all over the house. Ginny, Daisy and Lily all went into the kitchen and helped Molly clear out kitchen cupboards, Hermione, Ron, Harry, the twins, Albus, Scorpius and Hugo stayed in the drawing room and cleared the clutter there while Teddy helped his dad and Victoire in the library and Sirius cleaned out Buckbeak's room.

At Lunch time, everyone went to the sitting room for sandwiches and Hugo went to speak to his mum.

"Hey…mum?" He said nervously.

"Ha-ha, I guess mum is fine." Hermione said to him, patting the space beside her for him to sit down.

"So, you're fourteen, wow. I can do magic and you can't, this is quite the turn of events" He laughed at her expression.

"I wish I could remember you saying that in the future so I can rub it in your face for the seventeen years you can't do it"

They both giggled then Hermione turned to Hugo,

"So what's you're big sister like? Rose?"

"Well she's…exactly like you in every way, except she got put in Ravenclaw. She's eighteen, just left school she has a boyfriend-"

"A boyfriend? I bet Ron isn't happy with that?" Hermione said looking shocked.

"Well he always told her he'd have a problem with her having boyfriends but he was 18 when you and him began dating so he told her that's the age he's accept her having a boyfriend at, although, she'd been with Thomas since she was 15, she just didn't tell him that part." The pair of them started laughing.

Molly came into the room hushed everyone,

"Right, we still have more cleaning to so, so everyone off you go…" she pulled out her wand and vanished the empty trays as everyone started walking back upstairs.

"Hey Lily you have something in your hair" Scorpius grabbed Lily's arm and she stopped, turning bright red. He reached out to her head and pulled out a piece of cobweb that had got caught there.

"Thanks…" she muttered staring at her shoes.

"No problem" He said, shooting her a dazzling smile.

BANG!

"What was that?" Lily asked. She was suddenly alert.

"Probably Teddy and Victoire again" Scorpius joked.

"It came from in there…" Lily whispered, looking at the door to her right.

"C'mon, we'll check it out…" Scorpius slowly pushed open the door and it creaked loudly.

They both stepped in and closed the door behind them, there was a wardrobe that was shaking and jumping in the corner of the room.

"A boggart, but we'll let Mad Eye have a look before we try anything Molly's already waiting for him to check another room aswell" Scorpius said, walking back towards the door and turning the handle, "It's locked, how can it be locked?" He turned back to Lily, "did you lock it?"

"No…try using your wand?" She suggested.

"Alohomora!" Scorpius gave it another try, "Nope, looks like we're stuck"

"Good, it's fine, at least we're getting out of cleaning I guess…" Lily said, smiling.

"Haha, yeah…so how weird is this? Being in the past? I wonder if they've noticed we've gone, or if we come back at the moment we left so they don't know a thing…"

"Yeah, but it's fun, getting to know our parents as teenagers…well for me it is, maybe they could arrange for your dad to come over…"

Scorpius burst out laughing, "Yeah that would be a clever idea, invite the death eaters for tea and biscuits."

"Sorry, I wasn't being mean, there's no need for the sarcasm!" Lily frowned.

"No…i'm sorry. God Lily…"

"What?" Lily asked, looking confused.

"Nothing, it doesn't matter. Maybe we should call for help-"

"No! I mean, we can do some tidying up in here seeing as we're stuck anyway" Lily thought up quickly, she wanted to be alone with Scorpius, to show him that she wasn't just Al's annoying sister.

Scorpius stared at Lily then turned back to the door,

"Nah, I'm claustrophobic" He started muttering spells while pointing his wand at the door. Lily walked over and put her hand on his and pulled his wand away,

"Why don't you want to be alone with me? Did I do something to you? Because you always avoid me!" Lily snapped.

"I don't avoid you…" Scorpius said, putting his wand back in his pocket and turning to face her. He walked away from her, over to the window.

"Why can't you just be some random girl? Why do you have to be Al's baby sister?"

"Excuse me…" Lily asked, really confused now.

"You. It's so hard liking someone as a friend when you know you shouldn't but when it's more than that…when you really like someone, and you want to be with them but so many things are against it, my parents, your parents, your brothers and cousins…Lily Potter why are you so desirable yet so hard to be with?" Scorpius let out a deep sigh.

Lily couldn't believe she was really hearing this. Scorpius Malfoy just admitted he wanted to BE with HER. She wanted to scream like a little girl and tell Daisy and Hugo but she couldn't because she was stuck in a room hearing why they couldn't be together. Life really sucked sometimes.

"You…like me…?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry if I've totally freaked you out, I've just never been properly alone with you…and it just sort of…came out. I know you don't like me in that way"

Lily stepped forward and closed the small distance between them,

"Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy…Can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah" Scorpius whispered, barely able to take his eyes off of Lily's soft pink lips as she stepped closer to him, his heart quickening and his palms getting sweating.

"Why are men so dense?" And she leaned in, her face just centimetres from him, he bent his neck down, she was tiny compared to him-

"I think I hear something in here!" A voice from outside shouted before the door slammed open and Lily and Scorpius jumped apart. Harry walked in,

"What are you two up to? Is that a boggart in there? He asked

"No, we got stuck in, that door locks itself" Lily said, motioning at the door behind Harry. She couldn't believe what had just happened and her stupid dad had to interrupt. How typical.

The three of them left the room and headed upstairs to the drawing room where everyone was going through the clutter.

"Merlin…" Ginny lifted a heavy locket from under a large book and held it out for everyone to see. It was the horcrux.

"Ginny put it down now!" Sirius snapped and Ginny immediately dropped it, "Everything still needs to happen like it did before so throw it away and let Kreacher find it…"

As the day wore on the topic of conversation once again turned towards the future,

"So, what are all your friends like? Are they the kids of anyone we know?" Ron asked Hugo.

"Well, Lily and Daisy are my closest friends but Lorcan and Lysander Scamander are in my year, but in Ravenclaw-"

"Okay who is this Scamander-Lovegood woman? You've mention her before" Fred asked.

"She's my friend in Ravenclaw" Ginny answered before the rest of the group could, "but they told you yesterday that soon she'd be all our friends, she's Luna, she comes to the ministry with us in the summer"

"Yeah…my full name is Lily Luna Potter, she's my godmother too" Lily added, "You forgot about Harold, Hugo"

"Oh yeah, there's Harold Creevey! He's my dorm mate" Hugo said.

"Is he related to Colin?" Hermione piped up.

"Yeah, he's Dennis' son" Albus answered, "and Demelza's. They have a daughter a year younger than us called Delilah as well"

"Demelza? Never met her-"

"She's the year below me" Ginny said, "What about Colin does he have any kids?"

"Well…he died at the battle of Hogwarts. But dad always says he was a brave kid"

Everyone sat working in silence until Albus started to speak again,

"In my year there was Jaspera Zabini, she's Blaise and Scorpius' aunt Daphne's daughter-"

"She's a cow. She's just like her mum, I prefer my uncle Blaise to be honest and my cousin Oberon, he's a Ravenclaw a few years older than us and isn't he currently involved with your cousin Dominique?" Scorpius added to Albus.

Albus nodded, "Maybe we won't mention that to Bill…He is a Zabini after all…"

"-and Aphrodite Goyle, who by the way, is nothing like Aphrodite. She's Pansy Parkinson and Gregory Goyle's daughter, they have another one called Athena but she's nice and has nothing to do with her sister"

"What about Fiona and Xing?" Lily asked Albus and Scorpius, "aren't they the same age as you?"

"Oh yeah! Xing Leong and Lei Leong are Cho Chang's daughter and son, Lei is actually dating our cousin Molly and Xing is best friends with Fiona Finch-Fletchley who is Justin and Susan's daughter, they have a son in James' year as well called Cadmus"

"This is so weird hearing all our friends have families!" Hermione squealed, "And I did not expect Justin and Susan! Or Pansy and Goyle, I thought she had it bad for your dad Scorpius?"

"She still does, it's disgusting" Scorpius answered, his nose wrinkling.

"Who else then?" Ginny asked

"Well…there's Seamus and Pavarti who have two daughters called Janie and Niamh, and Dean Thomas and Lavender who have three kids; Daniel, Freya and Samantha-"

"Oh god, that bitch" Ginny interrupted.

Everyone turned to look at her in shock.

"What, Dean's my boyfriend and I knew she had something for him…" She mumbled.

"I forgot, I just keep assuming everyone is already with their husbands and wives" Teddy laughed.

"Who else, who else-Oh! Lee Jordan and Alicia have a daughter called Morgana who is the same age as Fred, James and Louis-"

"She's going out with Fred isn't she?" George asked, "It's a cert that my son would end up with Lee's daughter"

The next Generation all laughed, "Yeah, the actually do go out!" Al said.

"And there's Thomas Wood-" Albus said

"Olivers son?"

"Yeah! He made everyone make a promise though, when we were in second year and he was in fourth."

"Oh yeah, what was it?"

"I promise not to take 'I've heard every possible joke about Thomas Wood's name' as a challenge"

Everyone was rolling on the floor laughing, even Sirius couldn't keep it in,

"I dunno what you'd laughing at Ron, he's seeing your daughter" Lily said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. Ron immediately stopped,

"My daughter won't have any boyfriends actually" He said.

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that" Victoire laughed.

When Molly walked into the room everyone was still giggling,

"I guess you have all done enough today" She said, "Why don't you all go down to the sitting room and relax while I make dinner. Go on, shoo" She added, motioning everyone out of the room.

Later in the sitting room, everyone was gathered around Hugo and Ron, who were playing chess,

"Check mate. I seem to have won dad" Hugo said, grinning at his younger father.

"What? Well, you're older, I bet you never beat me in the future!" Ron argued

"Actually no, I don't but believe me, I'll always remember this moment" he said, winking at his dad, "Who's next?"

"I'll play" Lupin had gotten up and moved into the seat Ron had just vacated, "I've never been beaten by anyone except your dad" He said, looking over at Harry.

After seven games, Hugo realised that Remus was right, he was brilliant at Chess! But Hugo had the upperhand in this game and if he won this, he'd have won the same amount of games as Lupin, just one more move…

"AHA!"

"Oh my god! How are you beating me every time!" Lupin said, not believing it.

"I dunno...because you suck at it?" Hugo said, grinning.

"I DON'T SUCK AT IT! I ALWAYS WIN!" Lupin growled then put his hand over his mouth, it was near a full moon and his temper was terrible.

"Wooooah, nice doggy! Is it that time of the month or something…" Hugo joked.

"Oh merlin, he's making werewolf jokes" Tonks said to Sirius

"He's dead." Sirius replied.

Lupin took a deep breath then got up and shook Hugo's hand,

"Good game son" He smiled weakly then strode through the door and turned left towards the stairs.

Everyone looked around, not knowing how to react.

"It is that time of month Hugo" Teddy said, "That wasn't very nice saying that, you're going to apologise next time you see my dad right?"

Hugo nodded and Teddy also got up and headed upstairs to find Lupin.

"So…Albus, Scorpius, you said you were eighteen, so you've left school?"

"Yep, we've both just joined the auror department" Scorpius grinned

"So many aurors, you all must be so smart?" Tonks said.

"Well, Teddy is an auror, us two are training, and that's it, Frank Longbottom is just about to do his end of training exams though"

"What about everyone else?" Arthur asked

"Well, James is the chaser for the Wimbourne Wasps, and Dominique is the seeker for the Harpies" Albus stated.

"And I'm a healer at St Mungo's" Victoire said softly to her dad who looked proud, "Louis is a curse breaker like you" she added which made Bill smile even wider.

"Rose works in the Department of International Magical Cooperation" Hugo told his mum and dad, "And Molly works in the Department for the regulation and control of magical creatures where she is fighting for Elf Rights where you left of mum" Hugo added.

"Fred works for the department of magical games and sports and Roxanne is still at school" Lily told her uncle George.

"What do your parents do?" Hermione asked Scorpius kindly.

"My dad is the head healer at St Mungo's and my mum is the Head of International Magical Cooperation"

"Draco Malfoy is a healer!" Ron exclaimed,

"Yes…why?" Scorpius asked, looking surprised then his face dropped, "Oh I get it, because he's 'bad' right?" He glowered at Ron, "You know that you get along with him in the future, you're at least civil with him. He helped deliver Hugo when Hermione collapsed at the ministry and he was visiting my mum."

Ron looked shocked along with everyone else in the room who hadn't heard that story before.

"He did y'know dad" Hugo said, smiling at his parents, "If it wasn't for Mr Malfoy me and mum wouldn't be here"

"So saving two life's makes up for the hundred lost because of him?" Harry piped up.

"As much as the things my dad done when he was only my age were bad, he never killed anyone with his own hand. He only witnessed it being done"

"But he still allowed it, didn't he? He didn't stop it" Harry almost yelled.

"Because he would have been killed! He was selfish okay? He doesn't deny he was in the wrong! But he didn't do it to deliberately hurt people, only to stop himself being killed!" Scorpius said, his eyes flashing silver.

"Will you leave Scorpius alone dad!" Lily said loudly, it took Harry a second to realise she was talking to him and he took a step back from Scorpius

"I think everyone should just calm down" Arthur said, getting up and stepping in between the two groups, "each of you do not know what it is like in each other's time so why don't we just accept that and go eat, dinner should be about ready"

The large group all stomped downstairs, each giving the other daggers.

Upstairs, Teddy had found Remus sitting in Buckbeak's room.

"He's beautiful…" Teddy murmured, bowing to Buckbeak and quickly receiving a bow back.

He walked over and began stroking his head,

"He bowed straight away" Remus stated, "He took ages to get used to me when I first met him, he could sense I was dangerous, I guess you're not a threat…"

"You're not dangerous dad" Teddy said going over to sit on the straw covered floor beside his dad.

"I don't mean to be but I know I am, for one night a month I'm one of the most deadly things on this planet"

"Obviously you haven't met a dragon" Teddy joked and Remus gave a meek smile,

"You're so much more confident than I was at seventeen, I used to shy away from everyone apart from James, Sirius and Peter, When I was a bit older I came to trust Lily too, but that's as far as I went. I was too afraid of getting close to someone and then scaring them away once they found out about my uh…problem"

"What problem? I don't see anything wrong with being a werewolf. It's not like you can help it, I used to tell all my friends when I was younger about you being one because I thought it was cool, Harry used to think it was hilarious when I would run around pretending to be one…grandma not so much" Teddy laughed and Remus smiled.

"It's sad knowing I won't get to see you like this. I wish I got to remember these conversations…but I understand why things have to stay the way they are"

"I know, I feel like I already know you though, Harry always made sure I knew who you were, I remember the look on his face when I was seven and I accidently called him dad, because James had just began talking and was saying it all the time. He took me to yours and mums grave and we just sat for hours talking to you and telling stories about you…it was great…"

Remus had a tear dripping down the side of his face and Teddy's eyes were watering up too, he leaned forward and pulled his son into a massive hug, holding him tight. Teddy was shocked at first, this was his first proper hug with his dad and he was twenty six, but he quickly hugged him back and they sat for what felt like hours just crying to each other in a way a son would only cry in front of his dad and vice versa.

The door creaked open and a bright pink head peeked around the side,

"Hey boys, you alright there?" Tonks asked kindly, quietly closing the door and walking over to them, "Molly said you've both to come eat, because you are 'far too skinny', I thought I was the mum" she joked. Both men stood up and towered over Tonks, she noticed the tear stained faces and pulled out a handkerchief from down her blouse and started dabbing Teddy's face with it, she then moved around him to Remus who pulled away from her grasp,

"That was down your top!" he said, his eyes wide.

"Yes…I don't have any pockets so I tucked it into my bra…what is your problem?" Tonks asked, laughing a bit.

"It's just…it touched your breast…" Remus muttered

"Oh for merlin's sake! Are you thirty-five or just five? Come here!" She yanked him forward and wiped his face before shoving the hanky back down her top. Teddy was in stitches and Lupin was frowning like a child.

"C'mon, dinner" Tonks said, smiling brightly and grabbing both her boys hands and pulling them out of the door.

Me lovey dovey Lupin! A nice little chapter to make up for the monster of a chapter before it!
