The sun was shinning brightly that day. Not a cloud in sight, and if there was it just blew gently in the wind. In the middle of a field you can find three girls standing-
"Ashcroft Joust Attack!"
"Slice and Dice 'em Jack!"
Fighting each other.
"Ha, I think Old Ashcroft needs to retire Kanna," A girl of ten with bright orange hair and brown eyes laughed. She wore black jeans and sweater that had a orange pumpkin over her heart despite the warm weather. She was holding a broom in her hand and was twirling it around like a baton since she was having so much fun,
"Respect your elders Mati," A woman who was nineteen who hand long blue hair and eyes sneered, pulled a cigarette out of her mouth. She wore a black tank top and faded blue jeans.
"Ma-? It's Macchi! That's it, Jack Cut the suit of armour in half!"
"Ashcroft, Orb of Oblivion!" Just as Ashcroft came toward Jack Macchi yelled, "Wait Kanna! Wait, WAIT!"
"Now what?" Kanna gave her annoyed look as she stopped the attack. Macchi looked around, suddenly nervous.
"H-Haven't you noticed that Chuck is missing?" she asked. They turned to the third girl in their group, a nine year old who sat on the ground, looking bored. She had a her long blonde in pigtails and a black dress.
"Machine Gun Fire, Chuck," she said, sounding as bored as she looked. Suddenly from behind a tree several rounds came shooting towards Ashcroft, putting holes through his armour.
"Damn it Mari-"
"Jack, Trick or-" Before Macchi could finish a small Cowboy Doll was behind her Pumpkin Doll.
"Magnum Craft," Two rounds shot into Jack's head.
"Jack!"
"Mari's bored," The blonde girl stood, picking up her doll.
"Bored? Of what? Always winning?" Macchi asked in disbelief. She was kneeling down to see how much damage her Medium had taken.
"Man, it's going to take forever to fix this," Kanna muttered, taking a closer look at the armour. "We'll have to tell Hao-Sama that we need to stop at the next town again."
"Mari's sorry," Marion said, holding her doll closer. Kanna scratched the back of her head. She wasn't good at dealing with kids, let alone this one.
"Don't sweat it, I'm sure we can-"
"Huh, and here I thought Turbine was kidding about having three girls working here."
The three turned around to see a boy with grey eye and light purple hair that covered his left eye. He wore a orange t-shirt and jeans and a black cape. His name was Daichi, he was 15, the newest follower of Hao and no one liked him. Beside him was a kid a bit shorter then him, but looked the same just with out the cape. His name was Adam and he was 14. They only joined a few days ago and the three girls hadn't met them yet.
"What do you want?" Kanna sneered at them.
"I was just interested in meeting the supposed witches of Hao," Daichi said the words teasingly. Kanna glared at him. Macchi's eyes widened slightly and she took and involuntary step backwards as an image of her father, yelling, entered her mind. But Marion's reaction was worse. She hugged her doll close to her, looking down so her bangs covered her eyes.
"Don't call us witches…" she said quietly. Adam smirked.
"Why? Bad memories?" he rolled his eyes. "Get over it, it happened how many years ago?" he watched as Kanna snapped her fingers and the armour that was beside her came to life.
"You'll shut your mouth before I shut it for you," she said coldly. She glanced at the younger girls. Sure, she had gotten over her experience easily but she was older when it happened. They were, and still are, just kids.
"You know," Adam ignored the older woman's words and walked slowly over to them. "I'm starting to doubt this Hao guy." he laughed.
"You should respect Hao-Sama," Macchi said angrily. "He's a great person, unlike you and Daichi!"
"Please, he's three years younger then me and two younger then my brother." Daichi said. "And we're expected to take orders from him? I also can't believe he let a group of girls in, you can't be Shamans. Maybe they were right and your just witches pretending to-"
"Mari…wants you to shut up."
She said these words quietly but everyone heard them clearly.
"What did you say?" Daichi asked after a shocked silence.
"Ma…I won't forgive anyone who talks bad about Hao-Sama." Macchi and Kanna exchanged nervous looks. They had never heard her say 'I' before.
"M-Marion?" Macchi said nervously.
Adam looked confused for a second before smirking.
"Is the little girl angry? That's sweet," he mocked.
Kanna saw how Marion's arms tightened around Chuck, and how she stated to shake. She glared at him. "Get lost before we kill you," she said angrily.
"Ha! You kill me? Have you girls even killed someone before?" he asked.
Kanna raised an eye brow. "What do you think?"
"Well, I don't doubt you have," Daichi said impatiently. "But those two- Their pathetic. I mean, to freak out for being called witches-" he stopped taking as a shot went flying past, jut missing his head.
A tree behind him crashed to the ground.
"I…really hate you," Marion was holding Chuck out by the hair. She was looking down, so you couldn't see her expression. "And Chuck does too. He kills whoever calls Mari a witch. That's why Mari's Mama and Papa are dead." she looked up. "And you will join them."
"Chuck…Cross Fire."
The three sat around the fire, away from the group. None had said word when Marion killed the two boys. The others didn't even seem to notice that they were missing. But they didn't care about what they thought. They were worried about how Hao would react. Would he be angry that they let Marion kill them without even a thought of stopping her?
"I hear you girls had a some trouble with Daichi and Adam," they all stiffened at the same time before turning to look at him. But to their surprise he didn't look angry. Not even close. His smile seemed sad somehow.
"Hao-Sama," Kanna bowed her head respectfully
"Mari…Is Mari in trouble?" Marion asked quietly.
Hao shook his head. "No…from what I heard they deserved it for bringing back those memories. I told them not call you witches since your not,."
"So your not gonna punish us?" Macchi asked.
"No. actually, there was something I wanted to ask you three." Hao said.
"What is it?" Kanna asked.
"Well, as I said before the upcoming Shaman Fight only takes teams of three for the Second Round. I would like you three to be one team. The Hana-Gumi if you like."
"Hana…Gumi?"
"Doesn't that mean…doesn't Hana mean Flower?" Macchi asked him.
"Yup. So what do you think?"
The three looked at each other, all having the same thought. They went through the same experience, being forced from their homes and betrayed by their own family because of their powers. Because they were accused of being something they were not.
And now they had found a place where they might belong, and help make the world better, where Humans won't hurt them ever again.
"What do you girls think?" Kanna asked. She was right when she said she would learn to like these two, despite her hatred for children.
"I like it, what does Mari think?" Macchi turned to the blonde, who had become like a sister to her.
"Ma…" Marion paused before smiling softly, holding her doll close. "I…I like it. A Flower…"
"Then it's agreed." Hao said, walking away. "From now on you'll be known as the Hana-Gumi."
"The Flowers."
One last chapter. I'm pretty sure you can guess what it'll be about. Anyway, I got the idea for this part after reading SK Chp 160. When Tamao and Jun fight them and how Marion kinda went, well, not crazy but really upset and Kanna saying how she was acting up again and Macchi getting nervous.
R&R!
