KC public relations thought it might help boost word and sales of their spring launch of children's games if recognizable duelists made an appearance at some of the events lined up preceding the release.
That was how Yugi found himself with a pair of bunny ears atop his head and a basket full of chocolates to distribute to the children who'd come out for the exclusive spring festival that KaibaLand was holding.
As silly as he felt, the enthusiasm of the children was infectious. He found himself smiling and hopping up to some of the quietest of them to plop some candy in their hands.
He was in the midst of handing over some candy to a girl who smiled shily up at him when he felt a shadow loom over him.
Turning, he found it was only Kaiba.
The other studied his costume before cracking a smile, amused.
"I must look like a goof," Yugi said.
"Not as much as me," Kaiba replied, holding up a pair of his own bunny ears before adjusting the band to fit around his head.
Yugi merely laughed and looped his arm with Kaiba's. "Well, then let's be goofs together." And with a hop in their step they made their way over to another group of children.
