Ruby looked out of the window to the vast valley below, wishing she could see the mountains in the distance but they were on the other side of the Castle. She sighed as she felt her lungs have expanded nearly 10 times over since she's been flying around these last couple of days. Dare she said it but, it felt so good to do nothing but fly until she wanted to land and rest. It almost felt as if she were a child once again with absolutely no responsibilities at all.

She smiled absentmindedly as she rubbed her stomach, thinking about her future child in the sky. A soft knock came from the door as she knew it was Mr. Tumnus with her dinner prepared. She watched the shadowy reflection place her food on the table before standing tall.

"Thank you, Mr. Tumnus" Ruby said, politely, "But not today"

"I believe we need to talk"

Ruby quickly turned around to see Peter was standing where she thought was Mr. Tumnus, as he pulled off the robe and a small hat to cover his hair. She gasped as she was surprised that he was standing in her quarters right now.

She set her jaw, "I have nothing to say to you"

"But I have plenty" Peter took a step forward, "And you should listen to what I have to say-"

"Why?"

"Because you are my wife," Peter said firmly, "Normally, I would leave you in peace but considering how we have a child on the way and you have been spending nearly all of your time in the air, it concerns me. The way you are speaking to me right now shows that we have a problem and we need to solve it together. We shouldn't be avoiding each other, especially when there are eyes everywhere in our home. This could be exactly what the person wants from us"

As much as Ruby was mad at Peter, tears welled in her eyes as she said, "You made it pretty clear how you felt about our whole situation-"

"I was upset that someone was attacking your home," Peter explained, "I was confused because for the first time in my life; I'm happy. I have a beautiful harpy who loves me, a baby on the way, and peace is finally being restored back to Narnia. Of course, all of this would make me upset"

Ruby glanced down to the fabric in front of her and ran her hand over it.

"You didn't mean anything you said?"

"Of course not, Ruby" Peter tried to close the distance between them, "I love you. I didn't mean any of those things I said"

Peter sighed, "What I meant to say was that we would've fallen in love regardless of the situation that brought us together. Someone believes that you placed me under some spell but I don't believe so"

Ruby looked up and gave a soft smile, "We do have that kind of power but it would have never lasted this long"

"Do you forgive me, Ruby?" Peter asked.

Ruby looked at his pleading but sorrowful eyes before she nodded, "I forgive you, my love"

Peter breathed out a sigh of relief before he asked, "May I sit with you?"

Ruby waved out her hand to the open space next to her as Peter smiled and walked over to the couch. He reached out and took both of her hands in his before picking them up and kissing them. Ruby smiled at the gesture as he placed one palm on the side of his face, almost as if he had just returned from war. The feeling of sorrow melted away as she should've thought about Peter's actions over the years that they have been together. She would've known through that demonstration that Peter did love her and their marriage wasn't just to save face to Narnia.

"I missed you," Ruby confessed.

"Me too" Peter didn't even skip a beat with his response, "I never want us to go through this again"

Ruby nodded but then asked, "What are we going to do with our people, Peter?"

"Leave that to me" Peter shook his head, "We don't want you to worry about it"

Ruby slowly nodded as she could tell that he was trying to focus on the attacks but thanks to her, he was distracted. She could see that as long as she was in the air, he was always on the balcony looking up. At first, it infuriated her that she couldn't get away fast enough. Not to mention one of her family members would be up there trying to tell her to come back down and see reason.

"I'm afraid it is not going to stop" Ruby sighed, "Not until the territory is all but destroyed"

"We are nearly through the list as well" Peter said, "And so far everyone seems to be okay"

"Have you mentioned any of this in public?" Ruby asked.

"Not yet, I wanted to get an upper hand on this before delivering a speech"

"Maybe that's just it" Ruby said, "You will get the upper hand when you deliver a speech. I know my territory is probably starting to get frustrated that you have not spoken about any of this. It can also be that way the Harpy's will feel heard"

Peter looked at her, "Then what is it that you think I should do?"

Ruby blinked in surprise, "Are you asking me for help?"

Peter only nodded as she straightened up, surprised by this sudden notion. She felt her head spinning as now the responsibility was upon her. Ruby thought about it for a moment as she wondered what she would've done with this sort of power.

"A speech, perhaps?" Ruby slowly said, "Not just to the land that is affected but all of Narnia-"

"Rumors have begun to spread about why we are investigating all of the maidens" Peter said, "Some are very bizarre"

"Then it is time for the truth to come out" Ruby looked to him, "No more hiding"

Peter nodded, "You're right, my love"

He cautiously leaned in and planted a soft kiss on her lips. She gasped slightly but only because of how much she missed his lips on hers.

"No more hiding" Peter promised, "I will schedule a hearing immediately and have declarations written for those who couldn't attend. This news will spread and we will see where Narnia truly stands"
