Hunting a Stray
Hello, and welcome back to another chapter of Akari the Red Dragon Empress. As you can tell by this chapter, Rias takes everyone in her peerage to fight the stray they normally do, but this time, Sona and Akari will be tagging along for the fight. Now, let's see how this all goes down.
We start where we left off, as the Hyoudou twins and the blonde nun were looking at each other. The twins were still stunned from seeing the nun's panties, though Issei was the first to snap out of it and went over to help the nun up. He didn't want Akari to slap him in the head for starring. Once he got to her, he held out a hand to help her up.
"Here, let me help you up." He said to her.
"Oh, thank you very much." The nun said, as she took Issei's hand and he brought her to her feet. From what the twins could tell, she was on the curvy side, but isn't as curvy as someone like Rias or Akeno. Heck, even Akari knew she had the nun beat in the curves department.
"Are you alright?" Issei asked the nun.
"Yeah, that looked like a pretty nasty fall." Akari said, as she walked up to them.
"I'll be fine. That actually happens a lot to me." The nun said, then added. " My name is Asia Argento. Who might you two be?"
"I am Akari Hyoudou, and this is my younger brother, Issei." Akari introduced herself and Issei to Asia.
"Hey, I'm only younger by a few minutes." Issei whined. Despite actually being the younger twin, Issei didn't like Akari teasing him about it.
"I see, you two are twins. No wonder you two look alike, despite the gender difference." Asia said, giving the two a friendly smile.
"Thanks. Tell me, are you on your way to the church or something?" Akari asked.
"Yes, I was transferred to the church here. Would you two mind helping me find it?" Asia asked
"Sure, we can help out." Issei said. That's when Akari tugged on Issei's sleeve, as she moved her mouth close to his ear.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" She asked quietly in his ear.
"Of course I'm sure. We won't be getting too close to the church, just close enough to where she can get there on her own." Issei whispered back.
"Alright, but we better not be late for school." Akari said. All three then start walking in the direction to the churh. On the way there, they heard crying and looked ahead. They saw a boy sitting on the ground, holding his leg with a scraped knee. Asia walked up to the boy and knelt down beside him, as the twins were behind her.
"Don't cry. Big boys shouldn't cry over a scrape." Asia said in a gentle voice. She hovered her hands over the little boy's knee, as the twins saw two rings appear, one on each hand. A green glow then came from Asia's hands, as she healed up the wound on the boy's knee. "There, all better." She said, giving him a warm smile.
"Hey, did you notice those rings, Akari?" Issei whispered to his sister.
"Yeah. They must be some sort of Sacred Gear, and a rare type of one to boot given that it can heal injuries." Akari whispered back, as the little boy said 'Thank you.' to Asia in Japanese.
Issei translated what the boy said to Asia and her smile grew. After that, they continued to the church. That's when Akari asked Asia something.
"So, Asia. Where did you get that healing ability?"
"I don't really know. I had it for a while and like to think of it as a blessing." Asia said.
"Oh. Well, it's a pretty cool ability you have." Issei said, as it put a big smile on Asia's face.
"Thank you, Issei." Asia thanked. That's when Akari noticed the church from a distance on a hill.
"Well, there's the church. Just keep taking the path and you'll get there in no time." Akari said. This saddened Asia a bit.
"Oh, I was hoping we would go all the way to the church together." Asia said.
"We would love to join you, but we would be late for school if we did." Akari said.
"Yeah, we don't want to be late." Issei added. They couldn't really go up because they were Devils, but they couldn't tell her the real reason that they couldn't go up to the church, so it wasn't a total lie.
"Oh, I see. Well, hopefully I will see you soon." Asia said, as she starts walking to the church.
"Of course. We will see you around town." Issei said, as he and Akari headed to school while waving bye to Asia.
At school, the twins made it just on time, as they made it to class. Once in their class, their friends were wondering where they were, as they said they were helping a nun that was new to town to the church. Unfortunatly, Momo was passing their class and heard them, as she texted Sona about that.
After school, both Issei and Akari were on their way to their respective peerages, when they noticed both Sona and Rias waiting for them.
"Hey, Sona. Hey, Rias. What's up?" Akari asked.
"We need to talk." Sona said, in what sounded like a stern voice. She made a 'follow me' motion, as she and Rias lead the way to the ORC, which the twins followed them. Once there, they stopped on the stairwell leading to the second floor.
"What's this all about?" Issei asked, confused.
"We got some info that you two helped a nun to the church. Is that right?" Rias asked.
"Yes, but we didn't go too close to the church." Issei told Rias.
"He's right, we made sure to keep our distance from the church." Akari added.
"Even if you kept your distance, it was risky to help out an enemy to Devils." Sona said, adjusting her glasses.
"She's right. From now on, you two should stay away from the church and that nun." Rias told them, to which Sona agreed with her.
"But-" The twins were about to protest, but were cut off.
"No 'buts.' If one of you two were to reveal that you were Devils to her, she could probably have you killed." Rias said, then added. "Besides, you two are very valuable to us to get killed this early."
"Understood." The twins said in unison.
"Good. Now, get ready. We're heading out." Rias told Issei, as she was heading to the meeting room of the ORC.
"That goes for you too, Akari. You and I are joining them." Sona said, as she followed Rias.
"Oh? Where are we going?" Issei asked.
"You'll be informed when we get there." Rias told him. Once at the ORC meeting room, we see the rest of Rias' peerage there waiting for them.
"Good, everyone's here." Akeno said, once she saw Rias, Sona and the twins enter.
"That's right. Akeno, get the Magic Circle ready while we inform Issei and Akari about the mission." Rias said.
"On it." Akeno said, as she started the circle.
"So, what are we doing?" Akari asked.
"Rias informed me that there was a Stray Devil nearby and asked me to bring you to fight it with her team." Sona explained.
"Also, this is a good way to show Issei how the Evil Pieces work in a fight." Rias added.
"And it would also give you some battle experience, Akari." Sona finished.
"Sweet! I can't wait to get started." Akari said, getting excited.
"Good, but don't get too cocky." Kiba said, walking up to them. Akari gave a sheepish smile.
Once Akeno finished the circle, everyone got on and teleported to the area to where the Stray was. The place was old and abandoned, as it looked like it was starting to fall apart. Everyone went inside, as the inside didn't look any better.
"So, this is where the Stray is hiding?" Akari asked, looking around.
"Yeah, but be careful. Things could get pretty ugly." Kiba said.
"Issei, have you played chess before?" Rias asked him.
"I have, but I am no good at it." Issei admited.
"Well, this is where you'll learn about how the Evil Pieces work here." Sona told him
"They're here." Koneko said.
Everyone stopped in place and waited in anticipation. Soon, someone, or something, came out fron the shadows. What came out was a young woman with a voluptuous figure with short white hair but her lower body was gigantic and beastly with four legs, each having sharp claws, and a snake as a tail. Her overall appearance was reminiscent to that of a Centaur.
What the twins also noticed was that the young woman wasn't wearing any clothes on her upper body.
"I can see boobies!" Issei blatently shouted out, which made his teammates deadpan at the comment.
"Issei, focus more on than just her tits." Akari told him.
"My, my. What a nice scent, and so many giving it off. Who should I devour first?" The woman asked, looking at the group while licking her lips.
"Viser, you abandoned and killed your master. We're here to stop you from killing more innocent people." Rias told the Stray, who is now known as Viser.
"Aw, but where's the fun in that?" Viser asked, as she brought out two huge spears.
"Ready to learn, Issei?" Rias asked Issei.
"Sure, but who am I learning about first?" Issei asked. Before Rias could answer, Sona spoke up.
"Mind if we go first?" She asked. Rias was a bit surprised at Sona's offer, but she gave her a nod.
"Sure, go right ahead." Rias said.
"Now, Issei. Since both you and Akari are Pawns, you are quite versitile." Sona said, as Akari assumed a battle position.
"How so?" Issei asked, confused.
"That's because you and your sister can promote yourselves to any Evil Piece except the King piece, as long as they have permission from their King or in an enemy territory. Akari, mind showing your brother a deminstration?" Sona asked Akari, which she gave a nod.
"Right. Promotion: Rook!" Akari loudly said, as a sihloette of a red Rook piece apeared briefly behind her, as she dashes off for a fight.
Viser saw her coming, as she thrusts one of her spears at Akari, to which Akari summoned Boosted Gear and deflected the spear. Akari rushed to Riser's front right leg, grabs ahold of it and tears it from its socket, making Riser yell out in pain.
"You stupid bitch! that hurt like hell!" Viser yelled in agony, as she thrusts another spear at Akari. Akari dropped the severed leg and dodged the spear, as she did a backflip in the air, as she landed on the ground next to Sona.
"How was that?" She asked, once she stood to full height.
"A very good deminstration. Now you can show him how the other pieces work." Sona said, as she looked to Rias on the last part.
"Right. Kiba, you're up first." Rias ordered, as Kiba was closest to Viser.
"Yes, Rias." Kiba obliged, as he magically pulled out a sword. There was a shadow over Kiba, as we see one of Viser's feet about to crush him. Before it could, Kiba vanished in the blink of an eye before the foot slamed down, surprising Issei.
"Whoa, he disappeared!" He exclaimed.
"Not exactly. Look up." Rias said, pointing in a certain direction.
Everyone followed to where Rias had her finger pointed to see Kiba in the air. We see he was heading to an arm on Viser, as he sliced right through it. He then soon bounced off a pillar that was behind Viser and aimed for her other arm, slicing that one clean off too. This made Viser scream in more pain. Both twins were amazed at Kiba's swordman's skills and speed.
"Kiba is my Knight, which gives him heightened speed for attacking, but low defenses." Rias said, as she looked to Koneko next. "Koneko, it's your turn."
"Right." Koneko said, as she walked forward. She then jumped to Viser's upper body with all her strength and round-house kicked her in the gut, making her cough up blood. After that, Koneko landed by Viser's front left leg and ripped that one off too, making Viser stand on her hind legs.
"As you seen with Akari, Koneko is my Rook piece. She has heightened strenth and defenses, but isn't speedy like Kiba." Rias said, then looked to her only piece left to show. "Akeno, it is now your turn."
"Oh, my turn already?" Akeno asked, as she stepped forward to face off against Viser. Once she was in place, her hands started to spark with electricity.
"As my Queen, Akeno has the characteristics of Rooks, Knights and Bishops, which makes her well balenced and powerful." Rias said, as Akeno was having fun shocking Viser continuously with her electricity for a minute. "Akeno, I think she's had enough."
"Oops, I was starting to have a bit too fun with her." Akeno said, as she stopped shocking Viser, who fell to the ground with burn marks from the electricity. Both the twins sweat-dropped from this statement.
'Wow, talk about being both sexy and scary.' Akari thought. That's when she sees Rias approach Viser.
"Any last words before I send you to your demise?" Rias asked.
"Kill me, bitch!" Viser spat, as she wanted to die.
"As you wish." Rias said, as she summoned a crimson-red sphere in her hand and threw it at Viser. The sphere connected, causing Viser to disintegrate completely.
"I guess we can call that a night." Sona said, walking to stand next to Rias.
"Agreed. Everyone can go home and get some rest." Rias said. Everyone had went home for the night except Rias and Sona. Sona then turned to Rias.
"So, do you think Issei could handle himself?" She asked.
"At the stage he's at right now, he has a lot more to learn." Rias said, then added." Although, with enough practice, he could become a pretty decent Devil."
"I see. Though, I have a feeling his sister will be raising through the ranks faster than he will." Sona said. Rias perked up at this.
"Are you trying to make a competition out of this?" She asked with a smile.
"What? No. I was just saying her magical powers were higher than his." Sona said, as Rias playfully elbowed her.
"Relax, I was kidding. I know she'll make a pretty great Devil herself." Rias said. Sona blushed a little at the remark.
Both girls then said they would see each other at school on Monday, as they use their own Magic Circles to teleport home. Soon enough, the weekend had come and gone, as it was now Monday and everyone was back at school.
Once the Hyoudou twins got to school, they went to their respective friend groups before class started. Akari, Katase and Murayama could overhear Issei and his friends talking about how hot some girls are.
"Man, those three never quit, do they?" Murayama asked, to which Katase shook her head.
"You two act like them being perverted is something new." Akari said.
"True." Katase agreed. That's when Akari started to fondle Murayama's breasts.
"Wh-What the?! Akari, stop!" Murayama exclaimed, somewhat surprised by her friend's actions.
"What? I just wanted to have a bit of fun before class." Akari innocently said, with a smile on her face. Issei and his friends were walking behind them, as they were gushing at the show they were given. They had then entered the classroom, as classes had started.
After classes, Akari and Issei had went to their respective Devil peerages. Once Akari got to the Student Council room, Sona told her she got another contract to do. Akari accepted it and took off via Magic Circle. Once she appeared at the place, she somehow teleported at the front gate. She found this odd and walked up to the front door.
She light knocked, which made the door open up. She walked in and closed the door. She saw a long, dark hallway with a door that was lightly lit up.
"Hello? Anyone here? I'm a Devil from the House of Sitri." Akari announced loudly, but an answer never came to her. She cautiously walked to the room with the light, as she probably thought the client wanted to play games in candlelight.
Once she got to the doorway, she took a quick look around inside, before setting eyes on the dead body of the client. The client's body was completely butchered, as Akari was looking a bit green while puttung a hand over her mouth.
"Wh-what the hell!? I think I'm going to puke." She said. That's when she heard a crazy, maniacal laughter coming from her left. "Who's there?"
Stepping out of a dark corner was a young man with short white hair and red eyes, as he was dressed in clerical clothing and had a disturbing smile on his face. Akari found this guy to be pretty creepy.
"Well, well. Look what the Hellhounds dragged in!" The man said.
"Who the heck are you?" Akari asked, then added. "And what the heck did you do to this guy?"
"Where are my manners. My name is Freed Sellzen. I belong to a certain Exorcism orginization. No need to introduce yourself, as you will die soon." The man, now named Freed, said.
"I'm not going to let you kill me." Akari said, revealing her Devil wings. This made Freed's smile get wider.
"You're a slutty she-Devil? Heh, I'll have fun making you my plaything before I kill you." Freed said, which made Akari snarl at him.
"Man, you're such a creep." She told him.
"Maybe so, but at least I'm not a slutty she-Devil who comes to sleep with people." Freed said, as he pulls out both a pistol in his right hand and what looked like a hilt to a sword in his left. The hilt then grew a blade made of pure light.
"First off, gross. We don't do that. And second, is that sword made of light?" Akari asked.
"That's right, and my pistol here has bullets made of light. Isn't that fun!?" Freed maniaclly asked, as he aimed and shot his pistol at Akari.
"Promotion: Knight!" Akari exclaimed, as the silhouette of the Knight piece flashed for a moment behind her back and she used the speed of the Knight to barely dodge the bullet. This intrigued Freed a little.
"Well, well. You seemed to have dodged my first bullet, but let's see how you do with the next one." Freed said, pointing the pistol at Akari again.
"That won't happen!" Akari exclaimed, as she summoned Boosted Gear and quickly rushed to Freed, ready to punch his face with the Boosted Gear hand. Freed was actually quick enough to block her blow with his light sword.
"Close, but you left yourself wide open!" Freed exclaimed, as he aimed the pistol at Akari's left thigh and shot a bullet in it, making her scream out in pain and kneel on one knee.
"You're an asshole!" Akari said, as she tried to get back up to kick his ass, but the pain was hard on her leg.
"Hehe, whatever floats your boat, you slutty she-Devil!" Freed maniaclly laughed, as he rushed forward and stabbed his sword into her left arm, making her yell in pain again.
Akari gritted her teeth, as she raised her arm the Boosted Gear was on at the sword. The Boosted Gear shouted 'Boost!' as Akari then pulled the sword from her arm. She was losing blood and starting to get a little dizzy from it. She then used her strength to push Freed across the room.
"My, my. Still have some fight in you, I see. Then it's time to stop playing around and kill you now!" Freed exclaimed, as he started to rush to towards Akari again. He was about to stab her again, until they both heard a scream and Freed stopped in place.
Both Freed and Akari looked in the direction of who screamed. Akari couldn't believe who she saw, as who she saw standing there with hands over her mouth and looking at the dead man was Asia, the same nun that she and Issei helped out on Friday. 'Crap, what is she doing here?' She thought.
"What have you done to this poor man!?" Asia asked, talking to Freed while keeping her eye on the man.
"That man was a scummy Devil worshipper and summoned this slutty she-Devil, so he had to pay the price." Freed told her, then added. "Did you put up the shields like I told you to?"
What do you mea-" Asia was about to ask, when she took her eyes off the dead man and turned to Freed, to also see Akari there with wounds and blood coming from them. "Akari?! What are you doing here?"
"Wait, you know this she-Devil?" Freed asked the blonde nun.
"She helped give me directions to the church." Asia said, as she rushed over to Akari and kneeled down, as she started to heal Akari's wounds.
"You've gotten attatched to a slutty she-Devil? That just won't do." Freed said, as he then grabbed Asia and pulled her back from Akari before her wounds would fully heal. This got a yelp to come from Asia.
"Hey, leave her alone!" Akari yelled, as she tried to get up, but the wound on her leg made her fall back down to one knee.
"And what will you do about it, slutty she-Devil?! You can't even stand up right now!" Freed said. He then tied up Asia's arms and hung her up by them on a nearby hook for coats.
Akari gritted her teeth, as she wanted to help Asia, but she can't do anything with her wounds. This made Freed give a wicked hackle.
"This is so rich! Since this bothers you so much, I will treat you to a show before I kill you!" Freed exclaimed, as he used his sword to cut through Asia's nun outfit, which also cut through her bra too. This revealed her body, which Freed then started reaching for one of her bare breasts.
Just when Freed was about to grab Asia's breasts, a Magic Circle with the Sitri symbol opened up. Coming out of the circle was Tomoe, Tsubasa and Sona. Akari was glad to see them, as Freed was surprised they showed up. Tsubasa saw Freed was about to rape Asia, so she rushed to him and punched him in the face, making him fall to his ass.
"How the hell did you know where we were?! There should have been a shield up!" Freed exclaimed.
"There was one, but it wasn't completed. Plus, we were worried about our peer." Sona said calmly.
"Damn it! Asia, I told you to make sure the shield was comeplete!" Freed yelled, as he was about to punch Asia.
Before his hand contacted with Asia, Tsubasa gave him anothe punch to the face, while Tomoe decided to chop off his dick with her sword. This made Freed howl out in pain.
AAAAHHHHH! You fucking she-Devil bitch, that was my cock!" Freed yelled, as he had put pressure on his crotch to try and stop the bleeding.
"Serves you right for trying to rape her." Tomoe said.
Meanwhile, Sona walked over to Akari and kneeled next to her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Are you alright? What happened?" Sona asked. Akari tried to tell Sona everyhing that happened the best she could, as she was still dizzy from her wounds.
"W-Well... I c-came here for the c-contract... when I found the c-client mutalated... by that asshole. He also... tried killing me." Akari managed to get out.
"Alright. Tsubasa, Tomoe, fall back now. We need to grab Akari and get out of here." Sona ordered.
"Right!" Both Tomoe and Tsubasa said. Both of them came back and helped Akari stand. They then started walking to the circle, as Akari looked back ar Asia.
"Wait, what about Asia? We need... to save her too." Akari said.
"Sorry, Akari. Only those who are from the House of Sitri can go through my Magic Circles. We can't save her right now." Sona explained.
"Alright." Akari said. She knew Sona was right, as Asia wouldn't be able to go through the circle. But she promised she would come back and save her, as she knew Asia was a kindhearted soul that didn't deserve being with people like that 'Priest.' They then went through the circle, as it closed behind them.
Akari made it back to the Student Council room with Tomoe, Tsubasa and Sona, where everyone else was waiting. They all saw Akari was looking pretty bad, as she had a couple of wounds on her and she was being escorted by Tomoe and Tsubasa. Tsubaki walked up to them.
"What happened to her?" She asked.
"She was ambushed by a Rogue Priest. He was accompanied by a nun, but she looked harmless." Sona explained.
"I see. We need to heal her before those wounds get infected." Tsubaki said, as Tomoe and Tsubasa nodded. They took Akari over to one of the chairs and sat her down, as they start to heal her wounds. It only took a few minutes, as the wounds weren't too severe.
Akari's head stopped spinning, as she could make out her surroundings. She then remembered that Asia was back at that house. She then shot up to her feet.
"We need to go save Asia!" She exclaimed. Before she could go back, she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders guide her back to her seat, as she saw it was Sona.
"Akari, we can't rush back to get her. We need a plan before rushing off." Sona said, then added. "Also, how do you know we could trust her? She's one of our enemies."
"Because..." Akari took a breath before continuing. "She wouldn't hurt a soul. She actually tried healing me before you guys showed up to save me." All the other girls, even Sona, were stunned to hear a nun would heal a Devil. They have never heard of such a thing before. That's when Sona spoke up.
"Are you sure you weren't imagining it?" She asked.
"Yeah. You were losing some blood when we got you, so you could have imagined it." Tsubasa added.
"I wasn't imagining it. She actually tried healing me and that priest, Freed, pulled her off me." Akari said. Sona then put a hand on Akari's shoulder.
"Why don't you go home for now. I will have to discuss this situation with Rias for her opinion on these matters." She told Akari.
"Alright." Akari said, as she got up and grabbed her things, as she left the room. That's when Tsubaki turned to Sona.
"With what's been happening these past week or so, I feel there will be a fight coming soon." Tsubaki said.
"I agree. And we need as much help as we can, which is why we will ask Rias for her help in this matter." Sona agreed.
With Akari, she had gotten home and Issei had gotten there before she did. She ate dinner and went to tell Issei what happened before she took a bath. He was glad she was alright, as he admitted that she had done better than he probably would have. After that talk, she was now in the bathroom and was relaxing in the bath.
"Man, today was stressful." Akari said to herself. That's when a certain voice started talking to her.
"Akari." Came the voice of Ddraig, which made her sit up in starlement.
"Ddraig? Where are you?" Akari asked, confused.
"Look at your hand." Ddraig said, as Akari looked at her hand and saw a green glow coming from where the green jewel of Boosted Gear would be.
"Oh, hey Ddraig. What's going on?" Akari asked.
"I have come to warn you that danger has drawn near. There will be a big battle that will be happening very soon. One that might end in a life" Ddraig said.
"What do you mean?" Akari asked, but got no response. "Ddraig? Great, he left without explaining any further." Akari then got out of the bath and headed off to bed.
There we go, that's a good place to end it off. Not a cliffhanger this time. Yeah, I had to add the part with Freed, as I wanted thos chapter to be as long as my previous two. Issei got the explination of the Evil Pieces, as usual. But this time, he also got to learn more about the Pawn Pieces.
Also, as you could probably tell, Sona's peerage will be getting more love. Her peerage doesn't get as much love in canon, as we don't get to see them fight as often as Rias' peerage. Anyways, hope everyone likes this chapter and will see you next chapter.
