Chapter 4: Crush.
(Nick's POV)
"This one," Nikki declared point to a two story white house with a brick walk way and porch.
"Nice house," I complimented as I slowed down.
"Thanks, you can pull in behind the eclipse," She replied.
I nodded and pulled in. "Who's is it?" I asked as I shut off the car.
"Mine but I kinda share it with Mandy. Whenever we fight about it I call Trace...He's always on my side."
I laughed reaching behind her to grab my backpack. I got out and noticed she sat in the car texting someone. So me, being the gentlemen I am, went over and opened her door.
She smiled at me as I helped her out. She led me to the front door after unlocking it we stepped in. I noticed her décor looked like it stepped out of a modern house magazine; minus being spotless. I noticed books thrown across the living room.
"Sorry about the mess," Nikki blushed upon seeing me look around.
I stared at her; "Please my house is dirtier than this."
She giggled before calling out; "Mandy!"
A minute later a girl about eighteen walked out of the kitchen. I expected Mandy to wear a heavy amount of eye liner have rainbow hair and wear fishnets, mini skirts and combat boots; but I was pleasantly surprised.
Mandy was about 5"5; her long brown wavy hair was pulled back into a ponytail, I could see she had a blue streak through it .
She wore little make up and her piercing were worn in a modest way. She wore skinny jeans, converse and a top reading "U Gotta Love…my brother can kill u" In the background there was the US air force seal. All in all I see no reason for Nate to be pissed when he returned.
"Hey sis," Mandy smiled. "How was school?"
"Good," Nikki replied with a smile. "How's studying?" Mandy let out a groan. "What?"
"Well," She began dramatically. "As I was getting ready my teacher called and told me she couldn't make it." She rolled her eyes and looked at me. "Hi, sorry about all the trouble, if my teacher would have called I could have picked her up."
I shrugged. "It's fine, really, anytime she needs a ride I'll be happy to give it to her." I smiled.
"How sweet!" Mandy smiled. "Oh, right, I'm Mandy."
I smiled and shook her hand."Nick Lucas,"
"I know, you and your brothers are extremely talented." She gushed.
"Mandy," Nikki groaned causing me to laugh. "Anyway, Nick is going to help me with my homework and stay for dinner. Is that alright?"
(Nikki's POV)
I nodded. "Ok, we're gonna go up to my room," She nodded and as I led Nick upstairs she called; "Don't do anything that'd give Nate a heart attack."
I didn't bother to answer her as I led him down the hall. "Sorry about her," I apologized.
"It's fine," He grinned. "She seems cool,"
"She is," I answered opening my door.
I led Nick inside and he looked around. My walls were turquoise with white trim. My bed was a huge fluffy queen size bed. My bedding was black with blue polka dots. I had dark hard wood floors that had white and turquoise rugs on it. My furniture was all black wood.
"Nice," Nick said.
I blushed at the mess. My white electric guitar lay on my bed, while my acoustic sat on the window seat and sheet music was thrown everywhere.
"So you play and write," Nick observed. "Do you sing?"
I nodded blushing.
"Well I'd love to hear you someday."
"We'll see," I smirked.
He rolled his eyes. "We should probably get started."
I nodded pulling my vanity stool up to my desk as Nick sat in the rolling chair.
(Mandy's POV)
I heard laughter coming from upstairs causing me to smile. My sister likes this boy…she'd live with just being friends.
"What are you smiling about?" A voice asked.
I smiled even more and I turned and greeted my boyfriend Trace Stewart with a kiss.
"Hey," I smiled as we pulled away. In reply he just kissed me again.
"Why are you so happy?" He asked again once our lovely little kiss had ended.
"Don't freak," I began. He raised an eyebrow. "Nikki's upstairs with a boy."
"Define 'With'…" Trace said darkly. "There better be hands where I can see them and –"
"As friends Trace, be nice." Just then the door opened and in walked my grandma.
"Why do we have to be nice?" She asked setting fried chicken down on the counter.
"You're granddaughter is with a boy," Trace said.
"Aww, how precious," Grandma squealed, yes squealed, she's only like 70 and in great shape. Our grandma is awesome!
"No it's not!" Trace began his rant sharply. "She doesn't need to be with a boy, even if it's just as a friend…"
"It's Nick Lucas," I said interrupting.
"She can be with him." He said instantly forming a plan to use this for his bands benefit.
Grandma and I rolled our eyes and shook our heads.
(Nikki's POV)
Nick left about nine and after that I texted Dani saying I could go. For the first time in a very long time I'm actually looking forward to school.
