Chapter 19: Prince Charming's

(Chloe's POV)

"Thanks Kevin," I whispered as Nikki slept on her bed in the hotel room.

"No problem," He smiled.

"I wish you'd let us pay for the room," Mandy declared dramatically.

Kevin sighed, rolling his eyes. "Well you can wish all you want but it won't come true."

"Kevin this is a penthouse room! This is a fortune!"

I giggled as Kevin blinked at Mandy. "Really? No shit sherlock, I know that I am the one that signed the bill."

Mandy rolled her eyes.

However a quiet giggled caused us to look up and behind us. Our eyes locked on Nikki, who was now sitting up in bed.

"Hey," Kevin smiled softly as we all walked toward the bed. "how are you feeling?"

Mandy sat next to her and Kevin sat at the foot of the bed, while I stood on the other side of her.

"Like my brother just stabbed me in the back." Her voice was monotone and we all frowned simultaneously.

A knock sounded through the room.

"Coming!" Mandy stood and went to open the door. Joe and Nick entered the room stopping to hug her before moving toward me and Nikki. Once he was close enough Joe instantly had me in his arms.

"Can we go for a walk?" I asked against his shirt. I felt him nod before he led me away.

(Nick's POV)

"Well my work here is done," Kevin said as he stood and hugged Mandy and Nikki. "See ya, man." He patted me on the shoulder before walking out.

"Later," I called.

"Nick," I turned to Mandy who stood. "I have to go to the library, can you watch Nikki?" She inquired grabbing her purse off the other bed and walking toward the door. I nodded.

"Mandy, I'm fine." Nikki giggled and I smiled at my girlfriend. "I don't need a babysitter."

"He's your boyfriend, therefore it is completely different." Mandy declared opening the door. "Those purity rings better still exist when I get back." She called as she shut the door and Nikki and I were left alone.

"I'm sorry,"

Nikki looked up at me. "Why are you sorry, Nick?"

"I'm the one that kissed you in front of millions of people and told them."

She smiled softly and patted the spot next to her, I sat. "But I'm the one that wanted it." She paused. "All my life Nate has been in charge, but not this time. I love you Nick Lucas, and my brother will just have to get used to that."

I smiled and kissed her softly. "You're amazing, you know that right?"

She smiled shyly. "Now I do."

(Joe's POV)

"You ok?" I asked Chloe as we sat in a dark corner of the cafe downstairs.

Chloe took a sip of her coffee before answering. "Nikki made her brother out to be some kind of hero, but tonight it seemed like his sisters happiness didn't matter to him at all. He wanted everything his way and he refused to compromise." As she ranted I could tell seeing her friends in so much pain really hurt her.

I sighed not really sure how to answer. "Well, he hasn't been around much, maybe he didn't expect them to actually be grown up. Maybe realizing they are grown up scared him because he can't even realize it."

"So?" She pondered. "That's no excuse to turn his back on his family. He's 29 years old, he needs to grow up."

"I agree, but what can we do? In two weeks the girls will be back home and he'll be on a plane, going back over seas."

"Joe,"

I looked up at my girlfriend. "Yeah?"

"Promise me you will never hurt me like that?"

The question came out of nowhere and she whispered it. I had to admit it caught me slightly off guard. With a gentle smile I leaned across the table kissing her softly. "I promise, baby."As I sat back down I held her hand in mine rubbing my thumb over her knuckles. I smiled. "I love you."

Her smile brightened. "I love you too Joeydoo!" I playfully rolled my eyes as she laughed.

"I don't want to go back to school!" She groaned out after ten minutes of comfortable silence.

I laughed. "Me either."

"Let's rebel," She decided. "Let's skip."

I nodded with a smile. "Okay, Monday?"

She shook her head. "No, I have a test I really need to pass on Monday. Tuesday?"

"Dodge ball in PE. No way in hell am I missing a chance to brutally throw things at Nick without getting in trouble."

She giggled at how casually I said that. "I'll have my people get back to your people."

I laughed at her silliness. "My people will be waiting, but you should probably call me. You get a hold of me a lot easier without going through my people."

"True..."

I couldn't help my smile. Chloe is such an amazing girl. Everyday I fall more in love with her. I don't know what it is about her but I'd do anything for her.

(Nick's POV)

"Ok," I pondered as I rubbed Nikki's feet that were resting in my lap. "Would you rather make out with George Clooney or Channing Tatum?"

"Channing Tatum, he's so hot..." I glared at her. "not as hot as you..."

"Thank you, but God the guy is like thirty and I think he's married."

"So?" She giggled taking a bite of her ice cream. "Want a bite?"

I nodded and leaned over as she fed me the ice cream.

"Aw isn't that just sickeningly cute." I looked up and rolled my eyes at Joe, who spoke, and Chloe who giggled.

"How'd you get the ice cream?" Chloe asked.

"The fridge, Nick said he'd pay for it." She replied taking another spoonful.

Chloe turned to Joe and pouted.

"Go get something," Joe sighed.

Chloe smiled and kissed his cheek before skipping into the kitchen.

"What are you guys doing?" Joe asked sitting in the chair opposite us.

"Playing would you rather," I explained.

"We should play truth or dare," Chloe said walking back in her arms over flowing with food and pop.

"Yes!" Nikki cheered as Chloe sat everything down.

Joe and I looked at each other before sighing. "Fine,"

"I'll go first," Nikki declared. "Chloe truth or dare?"

"Dare!" She declared. "Bring it on baby."

"I dare you to call my cousin Justin (A/N: played by Bieber but his last name is Evans in this) and make up a believable story that I'm dead."
"How is this funny?" Joe asked as Nikki giggled.

"Because he's really gullible!" Chloe explained. "We called him like two weeks ago and got him to believe panda bears aren't real."

(No one's POV)

Joe and Nick laughed lightly shaking their heads. Nikki dialed the number and handed it too Chloe who put it on speaker.

"Hey Nikki, what's up?" A boys voice answered.

Chloe sniffled. "It's Chloe," She fake cried.

"Oh, hey, what's up?"

She began fake sobbing. "Nikki's dead."

"Oh my god, what?" The boy began freaking out.

"She's dead," More 'tears' came.

"How?" Justin was freaking out like crazy.

"It was terrible...she got attacked, by...by PENGUINS!"

It was quite for a few seconds. "I hate you."

"Aw," Nikki said. "no you don't."

"Yes, yes I do. Anyway, I gotta go later!" The line went dead.

"Well," Chloe exclaimed handing Nikki her phone back. "that was delightful. Joe truth or dare?"

"Um...I don't feel like moving or looking stupid." Joe said. "So truth..."

"Since I suck at these I'll do one I know the answer too. Have you ever smoked?"
