"Luz!?"

It was only Albert swooping in to tug on the back of the human girl's borrowed jacket that saved her nose from breaking when their patient lashed out once more. Eda having turned her back for only a moment to ring out the cloth she'd been using to wipe the sweat from Raine's forehead when their fever inevitably spiked once more.

"Should we…should we try more of your guy's potion?" the human girl asks with a grateful scratch to the small owl's head in thanks once she'd regained her balance this time safely outside Eda's nest of a bed and as far as she could get from the still flailing fists attempting to throttle the air where she'd once been.

"I don't know kiddo." Eda confesses "I thought we had a handle on this, I really did." She goes on noticing how the glowing veins of whatever it was Belous had done to drain the magic of the island through each of the coven's heads were still standing out as strong as ever against her ex's sweat-dampened skin despite every attempt the Owl House team had done to reverse it.

"Edalyn?"

"Witchlet?"

After the hasty retreat they'd made after crashing the Day of Unity the small rebel band had regrouped at King's 'castle'. Even making a side trip to break King's 'big scary minion' Jean-Luc from Phillip's custody.

"Raine's still fighting us." Eda announces the pain not hidden as well as she'd hoped in her voice as she climbed back into the makeshift nest, she'd created around her ex headless of Raine's thrashing and the warry looks of her relatives.

"Aaawww." Luz whispered, attempting to keep her outburst low so as to not intrude in the cooed melody Eda was once again humming to the finally calm seeming bard nuzzled against her mentor's shoulder. The red glow dulled, even more, the closer Raine clung to Eda's equally tight hold.

"So mushy." King agrees crawling up to his perch against the human girl's shoulder for a better view of the cuddling older couple. "Luz will Raine be, okay?"

"I-I don't know buddy," Luz admits with a low exhaled breath.

"This should help with that." A new voice assures approaching from one of the crumbling tower's many hidden side rooms. "I'm only truly sorry it taken so long to find the right combination."

"Wow."

Luz would have giggled at Eda's understatement of a comment at the sudden outfit change of the much older-looking King making his way toward them. His feet actually clade in oversized bunny slippers as he held up a glowing bottle of something that at first glance the other would have mistaken for one of Morton's elixirs.

"I hope you wouldn't mind my borrowing one of these." The elder titan says rather bashful now as his clawed hand tugged at one corner of the 'Bad Girls Coven' t-shirts he was now wearing. "It is quite stylish."

"Yeah, yeah, sure thing. Just as long as you tell me where you go those sweet threads." The Owl Woman waves off as her eyes like most of the others were drawn towards the fuzzy-looking glyphs-covered pants the taller version of King was wearing. Luz giving her own wide-eyed "So fluffy looking. So stylish. So Coool" whisperings as if the glyph-covered pants were dotted with some Azura-styled graffiti.

"What about mine?" King asked in pride now bouncing on his paws beside his father.

The print on the youngest titan's pants calling back to the ducky pattern of the towel King has been wrapped in the very first time Luz had clapped-eyed on Eda's 'roommate' of a pet.

"So odd seeing you in clothes, buddy but you look quite… erm fearsome." Luz praised although she was struggling to hold back giggles as she looked over King's attire.

"He is eight." King's father reminds "he doesn't need to be walking around naked." still holding out the dimly glowing flask, yet his other clawed hand dropped to rub jokingly against King's head.

"Ddaaad you're messing up my fur." King huffed lightly batted away the other titan's hand but the sheer awe in his eyes lessened his already fainted upset over the move. "and I forge my own path. It's just at the moment my path include clothes. It's surprisingly very cold here at the moment." the smaller titan shivered pulling his shirt sleeves farther down his short arms.

"My apologies, kiddo." The elder titan chuckled. It was when the elder titan looked back that he noticed the human giving him a much more scrutinizing look, but he waved her off as stealthy as he could redirecting her gaze towards the still red glowing bard breathing far too shallow curled up against her mentor.

"They need to drink this." The Titan instructs passing the dully glowing bottle in his claws into Lilith's hand. "All of it. Every drop if they'll have a chance." He broke off coughing suddenly as he stumbled on his paws.

"Dad?" King asks worriedly as Hooty stretched out to steady the stumbling titan.

"Just a little woozy is all." The elder titan waved off, but Luz could see a little more of the odd blending of dark fur and the clay-like coloring she'd more associated with King's 'minion' showing under the covering of the taller titan's shirt. "Bad, bad connection." He wheezed into another cough.

"Hey," Eda's voice was low but steady making Luz who was now supporting the wheezing titan as more or the ground rumbled ominously under their feet "Thank you."

"It's the yeast I can…. The yeast I can…" the groaning titan attempts to answer only to once again stumble over his words. Like a glitching computer Luz mentally compares pulling one sticky arm over her own shoulders to steady him once more.

"He'll be alright King. I'll make suer of it just stay with Eda and the others alright?" Luz attempts to reassure when her furry daemon buddy attempted to pad after them as she starts guiding the coughing 'glitching' elder farther away from the ones once again absorbed in looking after Raine.

"Luz." King's voice wavered at the unease in the human girl's voice.

"You're a Clawthorn just as much as your my son my boy, stay with the rest of our family." His father suggests "I'm sure once they are awake, Raine would like one of your hugs."

Luz's feels even more tears sting her eyes at the words as King nods in agreement turning around to hurry back towards the small nest in the corner of the massive room.

By the time the two had gotten into yet another magic-opened side door even more of the 'titan' had been charred away leaving only a groaning mass of what Luz could only describe as glowing clay behind as the thing rolled onto its back with increased effort to move its decaying bulk.

"I just wanted to give my boy the day he wanted."

"You really are…."

"My connection is flickering but yes, Luz the human I am King's dad." The glowing thing says. "the true me that is not this golem I finally managed to send him just so I can attempt one true day with my boy." The thing sighed. "but he did say it best when he said we titans are the best of both." The glow coughed.

"But Raine."

"The bard will be alright; on that you have my word. I've used the well the me sized amount of this golem's magic to heal them fully." The titan's glowing voice promised, "I can't say I could heal the mental scars left by what happened but physically they will be as good as new once the Owl woman gets her drink that potion, I gave them."

Luz lets out the breath she hadn't noticed until then that she'd been holding.

"This isn't over Luz the human." The dying titan golem reminded "bot by a long shot to use a human realm phrase."

Luz chuckles at the wording "Good one." She praised.

"Take care of him. Of them." The glowing, fading voice pleads "I'll still try to give as much help as I can but…"

"I promise." Luz assures even when she was sure given the extinguished glow of the unmoving mass of goopy clay that the worried titan had heard her.

"Hey Luz, remember the time I went all deva and wrote that book that got us trapped in that crazy shrinking box thing?" King asked far happier than Luz was feeling as she leaned heavily on the closed door to the empty room she'd just left.

"Ruler's Reach?" the human girl asks nodding in confirmation.

"Yeah." King agrees once again, seeming to be vibrating in his excitement as he brings a battered copy from behind his back. "my Dad has a copy."

"That's….that's great buddy." Luz smiles rubbing a few more tears from her eyes. "How's Raine?"

Both heads turn towards the now propped-up head Bard blinking around them in blurry puzzlement at their new surroundings.

"I think this deserves a Clawthrone-worthy hug." Luz suggests stooping enough to pull her best friend into her arms carrying him over toward his already gathered family.

"Yeah." King agrees snuggling against her shoulder. "and a Luz hug. Those are my favorites too." The young titan smiles. "Eda move over, we demand Mama Raine snuggles too." He calls out as Luz slowly walks them closer.
