Chapter 3: Encounters...

Kyoka Jiro considered herself a relatively ordinary person, leading a fairly decent life.

She had a small but active social circle, even if it wasn't particularly robust. Her passion and talent for music were perhaps her greatest joys, something that she inherited from her parents.

Despite their absence, she was fortunate to have a loving aunt and uncle who took care of her and looked out for her well-being.
Most importantly, Kyoka possessed a quirk that was fairly powerful, although she didn't always have confidence in it. Despite her reservations, she recognized that it was a valuable tool that could be put to good use in the right circumstances.

Overall, Kyoka's life was far from perfect, but it was one that she appreciated and worked hard to maintain.

Yes, Kyoka's life seemed to be an enjoyable one... yet, it wasn't without its... quirks.

At school, Kyoka was always the centre of attention, but not necessarily in a good way. Her quirk made her stand out from the rest of the students, and it was something that she despised.
Green Hills was a unique place, known for its quirkless population, which made Kyoka's presence all the more conspicuous. Her arrival in the town changed the dynamic, and she found herself subjected to constant scrutiny and attention from her peers.

Despite the fact that her quirk was powerful and potentially useful, Kyoka resented the way it made her stand out and longed for a sense of normalcy that seemed always out of reach.

Kyoka will never forget the day when her Uncle Tom picked her up from the police station, a memory that still haunts her to this day.

At the time, she had been completely bewildered, with no understanding of why she had been brought there in the first place or why her uncle had been called to collect her. It wasn't until later that she learned the terrible truth - her parents had been killed in what the authorities had labelled a "government" accident.
They had been crushed to death by the very thing they had been working to fund, a tragedy that had left Kyoka reeling with grief and disbelief.

The sudden loss of her parents was a devastating blow, one that had left a deep and lasting impact on her life. Although she had found solace and support from her loving aunt and uncle, Kyoka knew that the pain of her loss would never fully go away.

The day her parents died, Kyoka's heart shattered into a million pieces. She was only four years old, and the loss of her parents left her feeling adrift and alone in the world. She was taken in by an uncle she barely knew, uncertain of what her future held.
Thankfully, her Uncle Tom and his wife Maddie turned out to be some of the kindest and most loving people she had ever met. They welcomed her into their home and treated her as if she was one of their own.

Although there were times when Kyoka couldn't help but miss her real parents, she knew that she was lucky to have such wonderful guardians in her life. Tom and Maddie provided her with a sense of stability and security that she desperately needed, and for that, Kyoka was eternally grateful.
They had become her family, and she was determined to make the most of the love and support that they had to offer.

Kyoka shook herself out of her reverie and stretched her arms as she climbed out of bed, reaching over to switch on the light. As she did so, she was reminded once again of yet another quirk of her life, something that had become all too familiar over the years.
Kyoka let out a frustrated groan as she flipped the light switch, only to be met with darkness.

"Great, the power's out," she muttered under her breath.

Without missing a beat, she reached for her phone and activated the flashlight function, illuminating the room with its soft glow. It was a routine that she had become accustomed to, one that was all too familiar in a town where power outages were a common occurrence.

Kyoka made her way towards the door, intending to head downstairs, but the sight of her desk stopped her in her tracks. Memories from the previous night came rushing back to her, threatening to consume her with their intensity.

She stood frozen for a moment, her eyes fixed on the notebook lying open on her desk.
With a deep breath, she approached the desk and picked up the notebook, flipping through its pages and pausing on a drawing of the speedy blue creature that had appeared in her dreams.

"The blue devil...I saw it," she muttered softly to herself, her voice barely above a whisper.

The memory of the moment was still fresh in her mind, and the creature had left a lasting impression on her psyche. Despite the fear and confusion that it had brought, Kyoka couldn't help but feel a sense of fascination and curiosity about the strange being that had invaded her mind.

For years, the blue devil had been nothing more than a myth, a fanciful creation of Crazy Carl in an attempt to make life more exciting. Everyone at school had laughed about it, joking about the possibility of an alien living among them.

Kyoka, too, had dismissed it as nothing more than a wild tale, until last night. As she looked at the drawings of the creature in her notebook, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

Perhaps there was more truth to the legend than she had initially thought. She knew that there was always a kernel of truth in every myth, and she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something real and tangible about the blue devil.

Kyoka scrutinized the drawings of the "blue devil" in her notebook and couldn't help but feel a sense of scepticism.

In all honesty, the creature looked more like a blue-haired teenage boy than anything else, hardly the terrifying monster that Crazy Carl had made it out to be.

However, his incredible speed was a different story entirely, defying explanation and leaving Kyoka with more questions than answers.

At first, she had assumed that he was just a boy with a powerful quirk, but the more she thought about it, the less sense it made. If that was the case, why did he look so different from everyone else? What kind of quirk could account for his incredible speed and agility?

The more she considered the possibilities, the more convinced she became that there was something truly extraordinary about the blue devil, something that went beyond the realm of normal human experience.

Compounding the problem was the fact that every police station in the U.S., regardless of location, had a quirk radar device that was capable of detecting quirk usage within a specific area. When activated, the device would ping a monitor within the station, alerting law enforcement officials to any potential quirk-related activity in the vicinity.

While the devices weren't always effective in heavily populated cities, they were incredibly accurate in smaller towns like Green Hills. Kyoka knew this from first-hand experience; her uncle Tom had already shown her how the device worked using her own quirk as an example.
Kyoka couldn't help but wonder why no one had detected the blue devil's quirk, if he was indeed using one.

The existence of quirk radar devices made it seem unlikely that someone with such incredible abilities could go unnoticed for long, especially in a town as small as Green Hills.
She considered the possibility that the blue devil might have some way of masking his quirk, or that he was simply skilled at evading detection. Alternatively, she thought, perhaps he wasn't using a quirk at all, but instead possessed some other type of ability that had yet to be identified.

The more she thought about it, the more questions she had, and the less she knew for certain.

Plus, Kyoka was certain that no known quirk on record had ever granted anyone the kind of speed that the blue devil possessed.

Kyoka shook her head, pushing aside her thoughts about the blue devil for the moment. It was a problem that would have to be dealt with later; for now, she needed to focus on more immediate concerns.

With that in mind, she headed downstairs to grab some breakfast, hoping that the distraction would help to clear her mind.

As she made her way into the kitchen, she was surprised to see that her Uncle Tom had just arrived back from work.

As Kyoka entered the kitchen, she heard her Uncle Tom's voice calling out to his wife.
"Maddie, as Green Hill's most respected veterinarian, what's the fastest way to exterminate a raccoon?" he asked, his tone half-joking.

Kyoka couldn't help but roll her eyes at her uncle's sense of humour, but she also knew that he was serious about finding a solution to the problem.

Kyoka greeted her Uncle Tom with a playful smirk as she entered the kitchen.

"Hey, old man," she teased, enjoying the banter that they shared. She crouched down to greet the family dog, Ozzy, giving him a gentle pat on the head.
"And hello to you too, Ozzy," she said, grinning as the dog wagged his tail in response.

Tom's smirk widened as he greeted Kyoka.

"What's up, squirt?" he asked, teasing her with a playful nickname.
"Anything exciting happen while I was gone?" he added, his tone indicating that he was ready for a good story or a bit of gossip.

Kyoka playfully growled at her uncle, giving him a mock glare. "Don't call me that! I'm not that much shorter than you!" she retorted, her audio jacks at the ready.

Tom chuckled, unfazed by her response, and reached down to pat Ozzy on the head. "Fair enough," he said with a smile.

"And no, nothing interesting has happened. Unless you count the power going out..." Kyoka added, remembering the earlier incident. It was a minor inconvenience, but it had definitely been a bit of a shock to wake up to a house without electricity.

She wondered what might have caused the outage, but decided not to worry about it too much for the time being.

Tom let out a sigh, rubbing his temples in frustration.

"Don't remind me... where do you think I've been all morning?" he grumbled, clearly tired from dealing with the aftermath of the power outage.

Kyoka couldn't resist... "Wade?" she deadpanned, raising an eyebrow.

Tom nodded, his expression confirming her suspicion.

"Wade," he confirmed, before turning to greet his wife.

"And how are you this fine, powerless morning?" he asked, managing a smile despite the stress of the situation. Maddie smiled in return, clearly pleased to see her husband back home.

Maddie's smile grew wider as she held out an envelope to Tom, clearly excited about what it contained.

Tom's hands shook with anticipation as he held the envelope in his grasp. He could feel his heart racing with excitement and nerves.

"Is this what I think it is?" he asked, his voice betraying his anxiety.

Kyoka watched with bated breath, waiting for her uncle's next move.
Maddie's excitement was palpable as she urged Tom to open the envelope.

"Uh-huh... open it," she said eagerly, her eyes shining with anticipation.

Tom examined the envelope in his hands, feeling a twinge of nervousness at its small size.

"Oh... it's kind of small. Is that bad?" he wondered aloud.

Kyoka couldn't help but roll her eyes at her uncle's nerves.
"Open the envelope already, old man!" she practically shouted, earning a laugh from both Maddie and Tom.

Tom's hands trembled as he began to open the envelope, with both Kyoka and Maddie watching him closely, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. Taking a deep breath, Tom pulled out the letter and began to read it aloud.

"Dear Thomas, we have reviewed your application to the San Francisco Police Department and, pending an interdepartmental review and background check, we are happy to inform you that... you have been selected to join our team!" Tom's voice was filled with a mixture of excitement and disbelief as he read the words on the page.

Maddie let out a high-pitched scream of excitement, hugging her husband tightly. Kyoka grinned at the display, giving her Uncle a thumbs-up of approval.

"Wow...this is actually happening," Tom said in disbelief, still processing the news.
Maddie pulled out a pink box from under the kitchen counter and set it down on the counter with a flourish.

"Ta-da!" she announced, opening the box to reveal a cake.

"San Francisco sucks?" Tom questioned with a raised eyebrow, reading the words on the cake that depicted the Golden Gate Bridge on fire with the words "Forget Those Morons, San Francisco Sucks!" written in big blue letters.

Maddie realized her mistake and looked embarrassed, quickly putting the cake away and pulling out another box.

"Wrong one," she muttered. This time, she opened the box to reveal a cake with the words "Congratulations!" written in big, bold, red letters on top, with the words "I never had a doubt!" written underneath.

"You never had a doubt, huh?" Tom deadpanned, his sense of humour clearly showing where Kyoka got her skills from.

Maddie let out a giggle, trying to hide her embarrassment. Tom walked up to her and engulfed her in a huge hug before giving her a kiss. Kyoka watched with wide eyes, slightly grossed out by the view. Maddie and Tom noticed her expression and gave her a playful glare.

"Ok, you purple-haired menace, why don't you take Ozzy outside while we prepare breakfast?" Maddie asked, getting a nod of agreement from Kyoka as she and Ozzy headed towards the door.

"Oh, and before you go..." Maddie suddenly remembered, tossing an envelope to Kyoka, who caught it with ease. "This came for you. And don't worry, I didn't open it."

Kyoka's eyes widened with curiosity as she and Ozzy took off outside, leaving the two adults alone to prepare breakfast.

Maddie placed a laptop down in front of a surprised Tom, saying "So, I've been looking at a few apartments for rent on Zillow...I thought Ozzy and I could fly there tomorrow and check out some neighbourhoods."

Tom blinked, feeling like his head was spinning at a million miles an hour.

"This is all happening so fast," he muttered, feeling a sense of anxiety creeping up on him. He got up and walked into the dining room, taking a seat at the table and watching Kyoka and Ozzy run around outside.

Maddie looked at Tom with concern, "Babe, are you sure you're okay with this? I mean, there's been a Wachowski protecting this town for more than 50 years! This is a big change..." she said, worried about his reaction to the news of moving to San Francisco.

"I'm positive...it's time for this guy to get out there and prove himself," Tom said with determination, getting up from the table. "Plus, it's not me I'm worried about," he added, watching Kyoka happily tickling Ozzy in the backyard.

Maddie followed his gaze and smiled. "She'll be fine. She's a tough kid," she said, reassuring him.

Tom let out a deep sigh and looked his wife in the eyes. "I know...it's just, it took her so long to adjust to life here in Green Hills...I don't want to just pull her away from that," he said, his concern for Kyoka evident in his voice.

Maddie nodded in understanding. "I know, but she's also at an age where she can handle change. And who knows, she might even like San Francisco better," she said optimistically.

Tom smiled at her, grateful for her positivity. "You're right. We'll make it work," he said, feeling a sense of relief.

Maddie leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "That's my guy," she said, before turning to head back into the kitchen.

Kyoka came to a stop outside and plopped down next to a nearby tree, trying to catch her breath. "Okay...you win...Ozzy," she said, giggling slightly as the family dog barked triumphantly and trotted back towards the house.

Kyoka leaned her head back against the tree trunk, feeling the rough bark against her skin. She closed her eyes, feeling the gentle breeze rustling through her purple hair. It was moments like these that she cherished, when she could just sit and enjoy the simple things in life.

But her moment of peace was short-lived as she remembered the envelope in her pocket.
Her breath hitched as she retrieved it, knowing what it could potentially mean for her. With a steady hand, she sliced open the envelope with her audio jacks, pulling out a thin letter from inside.

As she unfolded the paper, her heart pounded in her chest. The words on the page seemed to blur together at first, but as she read on, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Dear Miss Jiro,

We are proud to announce that we here at the United Arts Academy, L.A., (Don't actually think this is a place) have considered your application. We are happy to announce that you have been selected to participate in one of our trial days to determine whether or not you should be invited to attend our school.

Please attend on the 29th of August...

The best,

Administration, U.A.A.L.A."

Kyoka read through the letter repeatedly, her heart racing with excitement. Finally, an opportunity to achieve her lifelong dream had presented itself. She couldn't believe her eyes. She squealed in excitement, something very unusual for the normally reserved purplette.
She had done it... she finally had a chance to achieve her dream! Now all she had to do was attend the open day. It couldn't be too hard, right? All she had to do was tell Tom and Maddie, then-

Kyoka's thoughts came to an abrupt halt, and she glanced nervously towards the house. She hadn't told her Aunt and Uncle about the letter yet. How could she ask them to put their dreams on hold for her? It wouldn't be fair after everything they had done for her over the past ten years.
With a heavy heart, Kyoka tore the letter to shreds, unable to go through with it. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she headed back into the house, putting on her usual depressive façade that she used to mask her inner turmoil.

"Kyoka, me and your Aunt and Ozzy off to the airport... watch the house while were gone, will you?" Tom asks, carrying a suitcase to the front door.

Kyoka smiles sadly at him, nodding her head. "Sure, no problem."

Tom picks up on the sad tone immediately, raising an eyebrow at her. "You okay, Kyoka? You seem a little sad..."

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just tired, that's all." Kyoka says, hoping Tom would drop the subject. Luckily, he does.

"If you're sure... just know, you can talk to me about anything. You know that, right?" Tom states, placing a hand on her shoulder. Kyoka nods, rushing off upstairs after waving goodbye to Maddie and Ozzy.

Tom turns to Maddie, concern etched on his face. "Do you think something's bothering her?"

Maddie shrugs. "I don't know... she's been a little off lately. Maybe it's just teenage stuff."

Tom nods, still not convinced. "I hope you're right."

As they head out the door, Tom gives one last look back at the house, hoping Kyoka will be okay while they're gone.

Commander Walters of the U.S. Armed Forces sat at the head of a long table in the Pentagon's conference room. He leaned forward and began, "As of 12 hours ago, an energy surge knocked out power across the entire Pacific Northwest. What is the latest update?" The top military officials in the room shifted in their seats, waiting for the briefing.

"We initially suspected an EMP, but its range and power doesn't match the scale of the blackout," one official reported.

"NASA has ruled out meteor strikes or solar flares," added another.

"The department of Energy confirms no power plant malfunction," chimed in a third.

Commander Walters let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing his temples. "It seems like we're only good at ruling out possibilities. We need to find out what actually caused the blackout."

The Army Chief of Staff interjects by slamming his hands on the table. "This could be a prelude to a larger attack! I suggest we scramble the Fifth and Sixth Regiment!"

Commander Walters raises his hand, signalling the Chief to stop his rant. "No, this requires a more sophisticated approach. We need someone who understands the possible technology involved."

"Are you suggesting we send in a lab-rat?" asks one of the officials.

"Not just any lab-rat," Walters replies. "We need someone who can handle themselves in the field."

"And who would that be?" another official inquires.

"A lab-rat with teeth...," Walters answers with a sly smile, waiting for his colleagues' reactions.

The Air Force Chief of Staff shakes his head in disapproval. "You can't possibly mean who I think you mean..."

"I know he's a bit eccentric-"

"Eccentric?! He's a mental train wreck!"

"But he's a genius. Five PhDs, unparalleled IQ, and his drone technology is ground-breaking!" Walters asserts.

"You're confident he can manage this?"

"Absolutely, Robotnik can tackle anything we present to him," Walters replies with a sly grin.

"I can't believe you're involving that oddball in this operation... I'd prefer to have a team of heroes on the case," the Air Force Chief remarks, shaking his head.

"Neither can I... but, we're left with no other options."

Outside the forest, near Izuku's cave, numerous heavily armed military vehicles have established a temporary base on a small baseball field. Soldiers and scientists bustle about, attending to their tasks. Suddenly, all activity comes to a halt as an enormous matte black truck rolls onto the field, drawing the attention of many who recognize it.

"What on earth...?" mutters one of the Majors, approaching the vehicle to speak with its occupants.

As soon as the massive truck comes to a stop, a sleek, fold-out staircase emerges from its side and touches down gently on the grass. A man sporting a moustache and a full black coat steps out, his eyes shielded by slim sunglasses. Dr. Robotnik has arrived on the scene...

A few other black cars pull up, and several armed men exit, forming a protective ring around the Doctor.

"Are you in charge here?" asks the Doctor, eyeing the soldier quizzically.

"Yes, I am-" The soldier, a man named Bennington, tries to reply but is immediately interrupted by the eccentric man.

"Nope!" He exclaims, a sense of superiority in his voice.

Bennington attempts to speak again. "My-" But is cut off.

"Wrong!" Robotnik states assertively, behaving like an immature child.

"Name-"

"I'm in charge!"

"Is Major-"

"Me!"

"Ben-"

Robotnik grabs Bennington by the collar, cutting him off once more, his voice almost a whisper. "I'm in charge."

The assistant proceeds to display a badge for all to see.

"You've never encountered anything like this before. It indicates that I'm the top banana in a world full of famished little monkeys. Allow me to elaborate. In a sequentially ranked hierarchy based on the level of critical importance, the disparity between us is too immense to quantify. Agent Stone?" Robotnik states, striding toward the truck.

"The doctor thinks you're basic," says the assistant, now identified as Agent Stone. Major Bennington glares at Robotnik.

"Is he still looking at me funny?" Robotnik inquires, almost like a sixth sense. "Tell him to stop, or I'll pull up his search history!"

"If you don't stop looking at the doctor, he'll take a closer look-" Stone starts but is interrupted.

"I'm not deaf," grumbles the major under his breath.

"Oh, and tell him his men report to me now! Blah blah blah... blah blah blah... blah blah blah," Robotnik says, using his hand to mimic a mouth moving, taunting the Major.

"Excuse me? Listen, buddy, I don't know if you understand-" Bennington doesn't get to finish.

"I'm sorry, Major. What was your name?" Robotnik asks, with clear sarcasm in his voice.

"Benning-"

"Nobody cares! Nobody cares," Robotnik shouts over the major. The recently arrived heroes look on in annoyance, while the rest of the soldiers appear shocked. "Listen, Major Nobody-Cares. You know why nobody cares who you are? Because nobody cares about your pitiful achievements. And nobody cares how proud your mommy is that you're now reading at a third-grade level! Have you finished Charlotte's Web yet? Spoiler alert: she dies in the end. And she leaves a big creepy egg sac."

A soldier in the background throws a book to the ground, looking sad that the story has been ruined. Robotnik presses a few buttons on his arm and summons an army of sleek, white drones with red, beady cameras on the front.

"Ah, my babies! Ooh! Look at what emerged from my egg sac! You know what I love about machines?" Robotnik asks menacingly. "They do what they're told; they follow their programming! They don't need time off to get DRUUUNK and put the boat in the water!" Robotnik points at the major. "Now, you do what you're told. Stand over there on the edge of your personal abyss... and watch my machines do your job."

Dr. Robotnik turns to Stone, giddy, and begins to speak. "Can you feel it, Stone?"

"I can feel it, Doctor," Stone replies.

"It's evolution, Stone. It's evolution!" Robotnik exclaims as he presses buttons on his arm, sending the drones off into the woods.

Robotnik and Stone enter their truck as most of the soldiers begin to follow the drones into the woods. Inside the trailer of the truck, numerous advanced machines can be seen in the background, while computers line the walls of the lab. A large desk sits in the centre, with Robotnik typing away.

"Agent Stone? Do you see anything useful in this image?" The screen displays a drone's perspective of a peculiar strand of blue hair, resembling a hedgehog quill.

"Nothing at all, Doctor," Stone states obliviously.

"Of course, you don't. Your eyes haven't been expertly trained to spot tracks like those of the Native American Shadow Wolves." Robotnik presses a few buttons, and a hologram of the hair materializes before their eyes.

"That's extraordinary!" Stone exclaims in surprise.

"No. What's extraordinary is that I've determined the exact height, weight, and spinal curvature of this creature, and my computer can't find a single match for it anywhere... in Earth's animal kingdom! This blackout wasn't a terrorist attack, and that's no baby bigfoot." Robotnik chuckles malevolently. "This guy is something else... entirely. Redirect all search units to the location of the hair! That's one small step for man. One giant leap for me."

As military personnel comb the area, Robotnik's drones soar overhead, flipping over rocks and branches in search of clues. Izuku watches from a distance, his face a mixture of fear and confusion.

"Okay, okay! Everything is fine. You were pondering your life, got a little upset, lightning shot out of your rear, and now the world is coming for you!" Izuku races back to his cave home, dashing around trying to gather as much stuff as possible.

"All right, all right. Earth isn't safe anymore. Time for Plan B. But I've got to take my stuff. Okay, essential items only. Toothbrush, toothpaste, hair gel, night-light. Funny hat. This half-eaten cantaloupe. Oh, my scented candle. My entire comic book collection. Beanbag chair. Can a beanbag chair fit in a backpack?" Izuku shakes his head. "No, no, no. Of course not. That's absurd. Okay, what else?"

He glances over at the table in the corner, noticing the rings shimmering in the dim light. "The Rings! The rings, yes, of course." He zips over and grabs them, shoving them into his backpack. Izuku pulls out a ring and holds it in front of himself. "Here we go. Ring time! Mushroom planet, here I come."

Suddenly, a massive explosion echoes in the distance, and a powerful shockwave shakes the cave around Izuku, causing loose rocks to plummet from the ceiling!

"Oh, no! They're right outside! I've got to go somewhere else." Just as Izuku is about to speed off, a small, sharp rock dislodges from the ceiling, striking him right in the centre of his head. He reaches up to find oozing red blood trickling down his forehead.

"Damn it! I've got to go... Goodbye, cave. It was nice to have a home while it lasted." Izuku takes off at breakneck speed through the back entrance of his former home, as the roof collapses where he once stood, sealing the place off forever...

Kyoka marches down the stairs, her irritation palpable. She holds her phone in her hand and is wearing a leather jacket that has "San Francisco" written in white ink on the front. Her Uncle had gifted it to her a few weeks ago when he applied for the job.

"I cannot deal with this right now," she mutters under her breath as she reaches the bottom of the stairs.

Observing the knocked over trash cans through the kitchen window, Kyoka gets an idea and heads towards the kitchen drawer. She pulls out a tranquilizer gun and loads it with a dart.

"Will Auntie mind?" Kyoka wondered, turning the gun over in her hands. "Nah, it should be fine..."

Kyoka raised the gun, cocking it and preparing it for use.

"If it's those pesky raccoons, they're in for a surprise!" With that, she dashed off to the back garage, her foot poised on the door. Gathering her courage, she kicked open the door...

A few moments earlier...

Izuku slowly descends from the back window of the garage, wincing as he hears a clatter of cans falling outside.

"Alright, I'm inside. Without causing much damage to Donut Lord's property," he murmurs to himself.

"That sounds terrible, but I don't have a choice." He sighs, his head hanging low. "I have to do it... It's my only option." With a newfound determination, Izuku readies the ring. "Let's get this over with..."

As Izuku stands with the ring in hand, his heart racing with the weight of his decision, he hears a sudden noise that makes him jump.

The door to the garage is kicked open with force, and in walks Kyoka, her leather jacket shining in the dim light, and her tranquilizer gun held tightly in her grip.

Izuku's heart leaps to his throat as he stares at her in shock.

Kyoka's eyes widen in surprise as she spots Izuku standing in the middle of the room, holding a ring in his hand.

"Paws up, scumbags, or I will put your butts down!" she shouts, adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Her eyes dart around the room, taking in the various tools and equipment scattered about, before landing on a blue-haired boy who's crouched down by a window.

Izuku was frozen with fear as he looked up at Kyoka, his mind racing for a response.
"Uh...meow?" he stammered out, hoping for a peaceful resolution.

But the purplette's eyes only seemed to widen in alarm and she quickly aimed the tranquilizer gun at him.

The garage was filled with a tense silence, broken only by the sound of Kyoka's heart beating in her chest. She hesitated for a moment before firing the gun, the dart hitting Izuku's leg with a sickening thud.

A wave of dizziness washed over him as the tranquilizer took effect, his knees buckling as he struggled to stay upright.

Kyoka's mind is in complete disarray as she stares at the tranquilized boy before her. She had just stumbled upon a scene straight out of a sci-fi movie. But before she could fully process what had just happened, her eyes fall on the spinning ring that had slipped out of Izuku's hand.
As the ring hits the floor, it creates a ripple of energy that sends shockwaves throughout the room. Kyoka can feel the wind being sucked out of her lungs as a blinding light begins to engulf the entire garage.

She shields her eyes, but the light is too bright. As the light dissipates, she is left with the sight of a gaping hole in the middle of the garage floor, leading up to the sky above San Francisco.

As she tries to make sense of what just happened, she hears a faint voice coming from the direction of the portal. "San... Francisco...?" It was Izuku, but he was fading fast.

In a desperate attempt to save him, Kyoka scrambles to pick up the pouch that had fallen through the portal. But it was too late. The portal had closed, leaving her standing in the garage with nothing but her thoughts and the sleeping boy before her.

"What the hell just happened?" she mutters under her breath, still in shock from the bizarre turn of events.
