Uzumaki Enterprises, the main competitor of the Schnee Dust Company, has been owned and run by the Uzumaki faunus family for generations. CEO Kushina and her young son Naruto are the last surviving members of the Uzumaki family. Respected for their wealth and business acumen, yet still facing discrimination due to their faunus heritage, the two-member family must tread a thin line as the hostilities between humans and faunus increase, and their peaceful and happy life is threatened.

This is a "Multiverse Collection" a number of one-shot stories.

These single-chapter stories may or may not be upgraded to complete works in the future.

To answer some questions/comments.

Q: Is this only gonna stay a one-shot?

A: I intend to continue most, if not all, of these stories eventually. My free time has significantly decreased recently and has limited the amount that I can write. They will continue sometime in the future.

Q: Clearly our lad is in that fragment. I wonder how he will react to a world he once knew?

A: Hmm... that would be telling. It will certainly be quite a shock that is for sure.

Q: Nooo another neglected Naruto fic, well actually it's been a while since I've read one of those. (Chapter 3)

A: I'm actually not the biggest fan of neglect fics myself, but for the plan that I have it had to happen.

Q: Aww, this is cute. A nice little one-shot this is. Also, I do wonder if Naruto's weapon is based off a certain wolf who fights a cat? (Chapter 4)

A: I actually wasn't thinking that when I wrote this story, but it is quite close. Hmm, that actually gives me an idea for a new story, thank you.

Q: Any plans to continue your other fics?

A: Of course! I have been working on them for a while now, and hopefully, they will receive an update soon. I don't have much free time to write right now but they are definitely not abandoned.

Q: Have you seen Episode 8 of V9? It was the darkest shit I've ever seen...

A: I actually have not seen the full episode or any full episodes of V9. I have seen various clips on YouTube and the few episode 8 clips I have seen are definitely dark. I was expecting at least some darkness and depression due to all of the chaos and defeat they have gone through in previous volumes but... wow.

Chapter 1: From Happiness To Tragedy

*Atlas; Uzumaki Mansion*

"I'm home sweetie!" Shouted out the voice of a beautiful young-looking woman, possessing royal-looking facial features and enthralling purple eyes, with a head of flowing crimson red hair that drapes down her back, accented by crimson pointy fox ears sticking out of the top of her skull. She was what many people considered breathtakingly beautiful, with a perfect body and an air of kindness that spoke to the loving but sometimes boisterous attitude of the woman. This was Kushina Uzumaki the current head of the faunus-owned Uzumaki Enterprises a successful and well-known company that had a hand in almost anything you could think of, from dust, and weapons, to clothing and food, and the main competitor to the human-owned and often racist Schnee Dust Company in terms of wealth and success.

Kushina was the latest in the line of the Uzumaki family to run the family's business and was considered by many to be the most important and influential faunus in all of Remnant.

"MOMMY! Your home!" Yelled out a voice that grew louder as a small blur of gold came through the large foyer to smash into and hug Kushina tightly.

"Yes, I am home sweetheart. How was your day? Did you pay attention to your tutor today?" She asked kindly down to her son looking at him fondly.

Her son, the heir to the Uzumaki Enterprises was a small four-year-old child, somewhat short for his age with many of her noble or royal facial features but with the coloring of his father for the most part. Dark blue ocean-like eyes, cute whisker-shaped marks on his cheeks surrounded by a head of spikey almost golden sunshine hair with streaks of crimson mixed in, sticking out of the back of his shorts was a fluffy golden-haired fox tail.

Looking at her son now made Kushina remember her husband, she missed him dearly, despite the unlikelihood of their pairing they loved each other deeply and had been so happy together. Her husband Minato Namikaze was a human man with many of the same golden-haired features that her son now possessed, with bright blue eyes. Many people doubted their relationship with many humans believing it was disgusting for a human to want a relationship with a faunus while many faunus believed that she was being foolish and essentially handing over at least partial control of her family's company and fortune to a human who was just using her for her money.

Despite what many people thought, they truly loved each other and were so happy when Kushina found out that she was pregnant. Unfortunately when their son was just a little over a year old Minato was killed by a human-hating faunus that had an unhealthy stalking obsession towards Kushina. Having followed Minato to one of the orphanages that the Uzumaki family-sponsored, and killed him. The police, military, and even private investigators could never find the perpetrator who ran after stalking up behind Minato and slitting his throat right when he was opening the door to the orphanage to visit the numerous children that they sponsored, which terrified many of the children when they saw Minato collapse through the opening door spilling a pool of blood on the floor under him.

Kushina loved her son too much to think poorly of him, however, sometimes it did hurt to look at him as he looked so much like Minato at times. "It was good mommy! I listened but it was really boring… my tutor said that I'm doing good and would move on to some more big kid stuff soon!" He said smiling so brightly that he almost gave over the appearance of the sun.

Her son was such a good and happy boy most of the time that it made her happy too. She didn't know how but her little Naruto gave off such comforting and loving energy you could practically feel the love and affection flowing off of him and it made her happy that her son could feel that way and have such a good life.

"Minato my love, our son is such a good boy and has grown so much you would be proud of him." She thought. "That's great sweetie. I know that you don't really like some of your lessons but they are important for you to grow up strong and smart so that you can lead our family and the company in the future." She said hugging him tightly and smiling down at him as he cuddled into her with his little fluffy tail wagging around behind him almost like that of a happy dog.

"I know mommy! I'll always do my best so that you and daddy can be proud of me!" Naruto said letting go of the hug and giving his mother a big smile. "Did you have a good day mommy? How was work?"

He loved his mother so much even though the work she had to do for their family's business often kept her away from the house most of the day. "It was ok sweetie. I had to throw a few more persistent people out of my office again but not too bad. Shizune was asking about you again though, she misses the times I used to bring you into the office and have her watch you." Kushina said while laughing a little bit at her young assistant Shizune who was a cat faunus that had taken a major liking to Naruto after having been asked to babysit him quite a few times when she brought him with her to the office when he was younger.

"Big sis Shizune was asking about me! I miss her, do you think that maybe I could come with you to work sometime so I could see her?" Naruto asked, happy that Shizune was asking about him since she was very nice to him and let him have quite a lot of sweets and ramen and played with him when she was taking care of him.

"Sure. I don't see why not some of the other employees were asking about you too. You are quite popular among them sweetie, maybe one of their kids will want to be your little girlfriend when you get older, hehe." She said laughing. Despite her position and family's noble and wealthy status Kushina was a rather playful and energetic person who sometimes couldn't resist teasing her son, perhaps some of the blame could be placed on her and her family's status as fox faunus since foxes were known to be quite energetic and tricky.

"Eww MOM! That's gross! Girls are icky." Naruto said making over exaggerated yucky faces.

"Oh you know I'm just teasing you Naru. You're too young for that." Kushina said, reigning in her laughter at the silliness of her son.

"Was it those White Fang meanies again that you had to throw out mom?" Naruto asked.

"Sigh. Yes, sweetie, it was the White Fang again, but you don't have to worry about that, I told them to leave." Kushina said while sighing at the annoying persistence of the White Fang.

"Why do they keep bugging you, momma?" Naruto asked with a frown on his face, not really understanding yet what the White Fang wanted with his mom and why they kept coming back even though she kept sending them away.

"Sweetie from your lessons you know the White Fang is a pro-faunus rights group right?" Naruto nods. "Well since we are faunus too and have such a successful business they come to us to try and get support for their protests and campaigns. They don't think that we are doing enough to try and fight for the rights of faunus and keep on trying to persuade me to join them and give them money and dust." Kushina said while her ears drooped, not really wanting to tell Naruto this but believing that he should know what was going on in the company that he would one day run.

"But….. don't we support all of those orphanages, fund school, and training tuition, and offer jobs to a bunch of faunus, mom?" Naruto asked frowning out of concern for his mom since she had had to kick different White Fang members out of her office many times in the past for attempting to claim the company's money. He didn't really understand why the White Fang kept coming to his mom, they were rich, sure, but it wasn't like they just kept it all for themselves.

"Yes, sweetie, our family spends a lot of our money on helping other faunus that aren't as fortunate as us, but the White Fang thinks we aren't doing enough and that all of our money should go to them, and that we should only serve and sell our goods to faunus, not humans, which goes completely against their claims of wanting equality between faunus and humans. You don't have to worry about it Naru, your mommy can handle it." Kushina said while rubbing his head and hair to calm him and reassure him that it wasn't anything for him to worry about.

She knew that no matter how many times the White Fang came she wouldn't change her mind about helping them. They had a good goal, equality between faunus and humans, however, they didn't necessarily have the correct plan for how to do that. Hating humans and attempting to seize better rights wasn't the correct way to do it, it only reinforced the human's idea that faunus acted like animals. So far the White Fang was peaceful and the worst they did was protest and hate humans to an extent, however, she could see a change beginning to happen. Some members of the White Fang were wearing thin on their patience and began to believe more violent actions were needed to get through to humans. Even though she constantly hoped that one day humans and faunus would treat each other as equals, she would never support a group that promoted anger and hate towards another, because she believed that that would make them just as bad as the humans who hated faunus.

"Come on sweetie, let's have some dinner and then get you to bed alright? Your tutor is coming again tomorrow for more lessons." She said ushering her son towards the dining room.

"Ok, mommy!" Naruto said, happy that his mother was home to spend time with him.

*Time skip - Naruto aged: 6 nearing 7 years old*

Naruto was sitting calmly at his desk working on the homework that his tutor had instructed him to work on while he waited for his mother to return home from work. "I wonder what is taking her so long today… she is usually back by now." Naruto's thoughts were cut off as the front door to their home slammed open.

From the room he was working in, Naruto could hear his mother run into the house and could hear the sound of some of the house's defenses activating.

"Naruto! Are you here?" Kushina yelled out, sounding slightly out of breath.

Getting up from his chair Naruto ran down the stairs toward the front of the house. "Yes, mom! I'm here! What's going on?" He asked, confused when he got to the foyer to see his mother activating some of the security measures of the house and strapping on her weapon holsters.

Kushina moved over to her son and set her hand on his shoulder. "Listen Naruto. I got an alert from the military. They spotted quite a large number of Grimm flying towards the city, we should be more than safe but I'm setting up some of the security and getting ready just in case. I want you to go to your room and get the weapon that I gave you for your birthday and be ready."

Naruto started shaking lightly, scared. Grimm had a hard time getting close to Atlas but if his mother was acting like this it must be a pretty large group or a pretty strong Grimm.

"Relax sweetie. I'm sure that the hunters, huntresses, and military can handle it. I just want us to be safe just in case, ok. They will have a hard time getting to us here, think of it as a lesson on being prepared, there's nothing to worry about." Kushina said, stroking his head to calm him down. She had no doubts that despite it being a pretty large group of Grimm they would be safe, their house was well-defended and strong and located in a pretty safe area, the Grimm would have to completely overwhelm the city for their house to be in any danger and even then she could activate the house's emergency automaton or robot defenses and lockdown shields.

"Ok…. mom." Naruto said, still a little shaky but calmed by his mother. He ran up the stairs to his room to get the simple short sword that he had gotten from his mother as a birthday gift to be used for training. While strapping on his sheath he nearly fell over when a loud explosion sounded off close to the house. Hearing yelling coming from multiple people from what sounded like downstairs in the house along with what might have been gunshots he sprinted back towards the stairs to find out what was going on and help his mom. Getting to the staircase he froze horrified at what he saw, a large hole had been blasted in the wall, the few defenses that his mother had activated were destroyed and even a few of the family's security team members were on the ground and appeared to be dead. What scared him the most was that his mother had her swords drawn and was standing down a group of what appeared to be faunus wearing white Grimm-styled masks. He didn't know what was happening and was pretty much frozen in fear.

"You dumb whore! You had the power to help our people stand up to the stupid humans and yet you first marry one and have a child with him and then you refuse to give us the money that we need to fight the humans! You are disgusting! You have brought this on yourself, we are going to kill you and your little son and take everything that should have been given to us to make use of." A large bulky man with bear ears on the top of his head shouted while moving forward with a vicious-looking warhammer.

"Why are you doing this? We use a large percentage of our money to help people!" Kushina yelled back while dodging attacks from the intruders.

"The White Fang deserves that money more than you do! You refused to give it to us so we will be taking it!" A smaller man with what appeared to be a monkey tail screamed while slashing his spear toward her body.

Naruto could only stare in fear and horror as the sharp weapon sliced through the air, heading toward his mother.
