Chapter Fifty-Three
Reborn said he has a lot of names, but the tutor introduced him with his Japanese alias, Korogane Ryushi, the God of Death and greatest assassin of all time.
Unlike his bastard of an apprentice, Korogane grew in the worst of slums; where it'd be impossible to find a single trustworthy person, where parents sold their children for money, and where friends and lovers betrayed each other without second thoughts. Justice was held under the thumb of the corrupt. Medicine was used only to cripple people. And humans were living garbage, born only to be killed. He grew up believing in nothing but death, thus he grew up trusting only one thing. It was the only truth he could rely on, ever since he was a child. 'People die when they're killed.' And that is the reason why he chose to walk the path of an assassin.
Tsuna remembered how Korogane said it was his true calling. There was this sense of nostalgia and awe in his voice while his whole face showed ease and happiness of remembering how he realized that killing was his talent. He told Tsuna's counterpart how he killed the intelligent with brute force. How he killed the strong with craftiness. That nobody could escape him without talent surpassing his own. In the end, he was invincible. He accepted any request no matter how difficult it was. He slipped through any defense, no matter how impossibly strict it was. He was a natural death to the heads of superpowers. By killing two dozen of the top brass, he brought an end to ten years of feuding in only a week. In the time he spent killing thousands of people, he came to be known as the God of Death.
However, as the brunet saw in his counterpart's life, the cause of Korogane's imprisonment was that one time he spent working with his only disciple. They were doing these small missions when his disciple betrayed him, leaving him to the security of the building to take. He was taken away to Japan, after Yanagisawa requested him as a guinea pig for a 'top secret experiment'.
He was kept in a facility with a strong security. His room has titanium walls and all door were double-layered steels. In the middle of it was a reinforced bullet proof acrylic glass, dividing the room to two: one for his 'own' side and the other was for his observer. His surveillance was twenty-four-seven, cameras in all angles, and one speaker. The man in charge of the world research foundation was the genius scientist Yanagisawa Kotarou; a famous biologist, heir to a wealthy family, and someone who used methods even a God would fear in his pursuit to create anti-matter.
Generally, the 'project' was about anti-matter. There was this some kind of magnetic bottle that contains a material called 'anti-matter'. It only took a tenth of a gram to release as much energy as a nuclear explosion. It was said that at first glance, it appeared to be a perfect energy source. However, scientists remain doubtful about whether it could replace oil and nuclear energy. Their justification was that it's terribly inefficient to produce. To make one explosion's worth of anti-matter, it required more energy than would be produced.
The basis of Yanagisawa's research was to make anti-matter grow inside a human's body. He would match the anti-matter's 'particle acceleration cycle' to the human's cell's life cycle and use tremendous energy to activate the cells' engines. After that, the cells' own energy would cause the particles to continuously accelerate, which would force the cells to continue producing anti-matter so long as the human lived. Korogane was said to be the perfect guinea pig, since no one would complain if he died, and he's homeless. And since most of the scientists were scared of him, they assigned someone else to observe him.
There, he met Yukimura Aguri—a teacher by day and an assistant who worked for Yanagisawa for free at night. Aguri and Yanagisawa were said to be engaged. Aguri's father was a subcontractor of Yanagisawa, thus the lady was forced to get married to the man. According to her, her relationship with her arranged husband would get even worse. Yanagisawa didn't treat her any better, really. He's very brutal with her.
Every experiment session, they expected Korogane to 'voluntarily' lay himself to this steel table that shaped his body and restrained his joints. To make him obey, they used gas, electricity and other methods to make him vulnerable enough to listen to them. The reasons why the God of Death remained there and didn't try to kill the scientists were because he was waiting for the right moment, and acknowledged the fact that he would gain destructive power with the experiment. The scientists thought that he wouldn't be able to understand the words they were saying, but they underestimated the vast knowledge the man has with him.
Korogane had stated that the first months were painful, being injected with these chemicals he could barely remember if he didn't pay attention. His arms and legs would sometimes go numb, and he'd feel the shivers. Sometimes, his body would reject the fluids and make him vomit a lot of blood. He'd feel weak by then. While the experiments were continuing, distinct changes began to appear in his body as well. The energy due to the anti-matter that was circulating in his body made it possible to obtain an incredible regeneration for him. And in order to keep in check that immense power, the composition of his body was changed into a tough yet flexible substance.
After six months, his arms and fingers began to become like whips if correctly stimulated. Yanagisawa began to call them 'tentacles'. It was clear that the level of alertness of the scientific equip was getting higher by then. Korogane noticed that Yanagisawa stopped getting closer to his cell as well. He would just continue to give direction from outside the shelter. Aguri, who honestly listened to Yanagisawa's orders, was the scapegoat in case of an emergency. From where she stood, even if she began to feel that the God of Death was gradually becoming less and less human, she didn't ask any unnecessary thing. And that's what made him so captivated with her. Because like any other session that ends, she'd greet him with a calm smile while looking at his eyes. By then, Korogane felt what it meant to be 'look'-ed at.
Yanagisawa thought that Aguri could be a good sacrifice, he didn't realize how the two became close because of him too. As the entire year passed, and the room became a place where they could talk about anything and everything. They even found out the time when the monitors weren't manned as well, so they could freely say things that were usually prohibited.
Aguri found out about Korogane's past, that he didn't have any family, a true name or a date he could call his day of birth. She learned that his gentle words were weapons for assassination, while his smile was something he learnt to deceive people. In exchange, he got what Aguri's life was outside the room. How her fiancé treated her like a mere servant, and she couldn't bring herself to love him as well regardless of how she admired his talent. He learned what she likes, dislikes, the new people who entered Class E, and her sister of an actress she's really proud of. Korogane was slowly taught of the world where people were taught to improve and raise from being a weak person. A world he practically didn't know about. And during those times, he didn't really notice how his fake smiles became genuine and real for her.
He talked about those times when they discovered that his tentacles show how much of a 'gentle' person he was, as stated by the lady. (It was generally after Aguri showed off this tube shirt that presented her chests in a good view. Koro-sensei discovered his perverted tendency.) The man remembered how she described him if he was born during a peaceful time and in a peaceful place. How he could've been someone a little perverted with a good head but a few screws lose, petty about small things, and a lot stubborn.
For a moment, he felt... Human. That he wasn't just a machine to kill people, and he's capable to do them. It was quite ironic how he could be human when he's being experimented to become a monster.
The day the moon exploded was the day of his birthday. It was the last time he could talk to Aguri peacefully. That time, six hours before the said explosion, Aguri gave him a small gift for it was exactly a year since they officially met. That day too was the same established date of his birthday, a small gift from the lady who felt grateful for all of the many things they talked about and the advices he gave to her. That day also was when Aguri told him that Yanagisawa wanted her to quit her teaching job and demanded her to work full in the facility. She talked about how she liked her students. Like Isogai and Kataoka who were described as level-headed, also Okuda and Sugaya who have propelling talent. She mourned for the fact that she's asked to quit the profession and passion she loves.
That last moment, with his growing tentacles, Korogane was able to touch Aguri using the small holes carved on the divider between them, forming them like a hand. Extremely thin tentacles that not even the surveillance camera could see. Out of selfish request—Out of desire to touch the God of Death who gave the woman strength to continue her passion, Korogane gave in and gave her support. And the only one who knew he could control his tentacles that expertly in that moment was her alone.
Six hours after, Aguri went to his room in panic. He admits that the moment she told him that they're going to dispose of him the next day, Korogane's mind went back to his 'truth'. That people were meant to die. All of Aguri's words fell into deaf ears, and all he thought was if he was about to die, he would at least try to escape with his new power. When he was transforming, Korogane asked Aguri to go, and told her that it will be their last time to see each other in that cell. Aguri tried to stop him, but the thought of escaping is so prominent in his mind at that time, so he denied.
He remembered fighting for his life after vomiting out the self-destructive device they put inside him. He remembered being shoot at by anti-matter pellets by the security and tried to get contained with steel gates. He remembered killing the securities. He was attacked by these tentacle mines too, that were experimented from lizards, and could move on its own after detecting living presence in a subsonic speed. He remembered being hit on different parts of his body, yet still alive because of his regenerative ability.
At one moment, he was seeing his death. Then the next thing he knew, he was looking back to Aguri who hugged him from behind. And it was too late for him to see the attack of a tentacle mine, penetrating the woman's side. He realized by then how foolish he was. How he could destroy so much when Aguri told him why she stopped him. How he could do so much positive things with his power, not just kill and kill and kill. And even if he said it was his fault, the lady asked him not to feel guilty because she moved on her own.
Aguri's last wish was for him to teach Class E. And he did. He left a letter to the government before running away with the gift he never thought he'd wear. He hid in a mountain, made a hole in there and changed his form. He was asked by the tentacles of what he wanted to become, and he asked to be weak. So, he became as one. Someone who was full of weaknesses, easy to get along with, with hands that could touch the weakest of things in order to protect them and guide them. He promised to give his all like Aguri, and he tended to do so.
He promised to do so.
"And that's the story of my past." Koro-sensei ended softly. "If there's anything you need clarified, or if anything seems dubious, feel free to speak up."
Tsuna eyed his classmates and two teachers who were quiet, contemplative and somber.
"I consider Miss Yukimura my teacher." He remarked. "She looked directly at those in front of her, respected people as her equal, and didn't judge people based solely on their particular weaknesses. Those are the foundation of teaching I learned from her. To that, I added my own knowledge and prepared to face you all. I pushed my mind to its limits, because I wanted to present you all with the best possible way to grow. But I struggled over how best to accomplish that. In the end, I came to one conclusion. I would make an assassination classroom using the very life I had left.
"I've said it before, but it bears repeating, the relationship that binds you to me is the bond between an assassin and his target. If you assassins don't have a target, I could never have come your teacher. Also, if you assassins didn't have a target, you wouldn't have been so honest- so serious in your efforts to clash with me. And therefore, this lesson can only be completed by killing. I could be killed by some other hitman. I could turn myself in and accept execution."
The brunet's hands curled into fists with just the thought.
"I could commit suicide. I could explode when my time is up. But if my life was to end in any such way, our bond would be cut short before graduation. If I'm going to be killed, it can't be the hands of anyone else, I want to be killed by you." Koro-sensei ended.
Tsuna looked back to his classmates before clearing his throat to get their attentions. "I think we should go to the hospital for Kaede-san to be admitted. The tentacle mine could have damaged her brain and overall system, so let's ask the professionals to check her up. Karasuma-sensei."
"Ah yes." The teacher said before herding the class to go with Irina-sensei's help.
"Koro-sensei." Tsuna called. The teacher turned to him. "You could go also if you need time to think. I'll update you once everyone is safe home."
The man reached out for him and patted his head with a grateful smile. "Thank you, Tsuna-kun."
Tsuna watched the teacher go before following the others. Karasuma-sensei tasked everyone to go home with some escorts before going with the car that would take Kayano to the hospital. The class was somber and said farewell with these weak smiles. The walk home with Karma, Nagisa and Itona was quiet. He let them think and rationalize how much burden were put in their shoulders after asking for Koro-sensei's past.
When they got back, Tsuna asked Itona to wash up and go to bed. The teen nodded weakly and did so. He then went to his own room, put Daemon on his bed and took his worn laptop out from its hidings. He switched it on before taking out some keyboard, mouse and a flash drive.
"What are you doing?" Daemon asked, peering over the laptop as he geared up.
"I'm going to hack the Japanese government." He answered as he entered his code for incognito before putting on the internet connection. "If Koro-sensei was here for a year, and escaped from the facility a day after the moon exploded, it means he wasn't the one who did it. It has to be something else."
"And you're going to investigate that."
"Yes." Fast fingers started to work on that keyboard, pressing the keys he needed as he started to do his work. "I have this inking feeling that it is related to Kawahira-ji's words."
"Ah. I remember. The Earth, wasn't it? That time your teacher flinched after you asked if there's a relation between them. What if you have to hack the pentagon?"
Brown eyes glanced up with a twinkle. "Then more reasons to do so."
The Vongola Mist laughed.
"Well, this doesn't feel right."
Koro-sensei sat up on his bed when he heard a familiar voice. It didn't take long for a brunet to appear at the threshold of his small cave room.
"Good afternoon, Koro-sensei." Tsuna greeted with a small smile, arms wrapped around Daemon's doll body, a big paper bag in hand and a bag with its strap crossing his body.
"Come in, Tsuna-kun." He called and was about to stand up when the brunet gestured him not to. "Oh. Uhm... How did you find me?"
"You said you lived in a cave last night, so I searched with my intuition and Daemon as a guide." He answered while walking in. He let go of his arms and Daemon floated away, looking over the stacks of textbooks at the corner of the room. "Have you eaten?"
He gazed at his stomach when it growled in answer. He sheepishly winced. "Not yet."
"I knew it." The brunet said and came over. "I brought food with me. Itona went to the gang's hideout."
Koro-sensei received the paperbag and opened it. It was a healthy Japanese food with a tupperware of different kinds of desserts. "Y-You didn't really have to do this, Tsuna-kun."
"I wanted to." The brunet responded calmly before putting down his bag. "My laptop is in there, with a flash drive. While eating, you can read through the research I made regarding this theory I had from your story."
"Nuah? What theory?"
"That you know where to find the cure for your situation, and it's up there-" A point to the sky. "-in the space."
It didn't take seconds for him to open up the bag and take out the unit. By then, Tsuna has dropped beside him and started to breathe evenly, falling asleep. Koro-sensei realized that the laptop was worn out but has pretty nice features, especially the battery life. The processing was faster than the usual laptops he encountered when he put the flash drive in. There were a lot of files named after different people. He knew better to snoop without consent, so he searched for his name instead.
'Korogane Ryushi aka Koro-sensei' was the name of six files, with versions: facility remnants, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Justice, Japanese Government, US Office of Science and Technology, and Pentagon.
For fuck's-
"Just read." Daemon said from the corner, flipping through a history book.
Koro-sensei sighed before he moved. He created a small table for himself, transferred all the food in plates and placed the gadget in front of him. He read through the files thoroughly. In every research, there was a bulk of back-up evidences and a note: a theory from the brunet itself. Most were accurate, some were almost on the mark, there were rarely anything wrong. He even took the file of accident from the Department of Justice and related all findings to what he found in the Department of Science and Technology files about what had happened there. Heck, he was even able to recover the files he knew those scientists who were monitoring him have in their possession at that time. There were some files connected to Yanagisawa, highlighting the man's relation to the research and the assassination attempts from him.
The brunet accurately got the needed things from the US Office of Science and Technology, and other confidential information from Pentagon itself. Unlike the documents taken from the Japanese Government, the US ones were lacking. No. More of the theories formed were intentionally hanged at the end, not continuing the thought because Tsuna wanted him to do it himself, fill in the missing pieces. It's as if the teen is fishing and proving his point that Koro-sensei did know where to get his own cure. Or at least half of the actual data of what had happened to his cells and the mouse that caused the explosion of the moon.
Technically, Koro-sensei didn't know that moon thing as well. He did do his research about it after claiming that he made the moon explode. From there, he discovered what had happened and why was he planned to be disposed the next morning.
A laboratory installed on the surface of the moon has its interior environment calibrated to be similar to Earth's. It was also the completely automated home of a single mouse. The said mouse was transplanted with Koro-sensei's anti-matter generating cells to investigate a certain question. Those anti-matter generating cells continually produced tremendous energy using the power of the cell cycle. With only twenty cow-sized anti-matter lifeforms, one could single-handedly supply energy for an entire country. It was the research of everyone's dreams.
However, Yanagisawa and his team had a single concern regarding the flaw of anti-matter lifeforms' aging process at that time. When the cell division surpassed its limits, what effect would it have on the anti-matter generating cycle? To investigate this, they began experimentation on a mouse, which ages faster than a human. As a precaution, this experiment took place on the moon, where there would be a no casualties. Initially, there were no problem. Just when they thought nothing would happen, the results proved to be catastrophic.
The instant the cell division stopped, the anti-matter generation cycle continued unabated and rushed out from the cells. The matter on the moon turned into anti-matter in a chain reaction, obliterating seventy percent of the moon's diameter.
He sighed through his nose as he leaned back. Tsuna is baiting him to answer his suspicions. And he doesn't know what to do.
"Hm? Dead asleep." His gaze went to Daemon who hovered on the brunet who curled on his side, hiding his face from the world. "Such a zealous child. He worked his heart out till wee hours."
"You're guilt stripping me." Koro-sensei whined.
"Nonsense." The doll waved off. "Although I did stay beside him and watched him do so. He's quite interesting when on the groove. He won't step back not until his curiosity get sated. He's very good at getting his own information as well. He knows what to search and what information to get. He may be a youngster, but his experience is of an adult. Probably an influence of his other worldline counterpart."
Koro-sensei eyed the child before directing his gaze to the laptop in front of him.
"He already knows everything." Daemon stated, lowering himself on Tsuna's arms and settling in between them. "He's just waiting for you to fill in. However, he does not mean to force you. He's giving you a choice. If you are pressured, I'd say good. So, you'll worry of your safety as well. He speaks highly of the Lightning Arcobaleno. Even if you try to hide anything or omit things, the Arcobaleno will fill in the missing things and Tsunayoshi will help him. Do not forget, the Sun Arcobaleno can be persuaded to give his input in this case if asked with the right words."
Koro-sensei sighed. "Alright, alright."
He didn't need to look back when the man in doll's body laughed their shared laughter. While his other tentacles held his plates and fed him, the other two worked to fill in the theories Tsuna had written on the notes. He checked everything triple times, copied the theories in another empty document and named it as a final version. Surely enough, he didn't feel burdened. More of, he was granted with this kind of time to breathe freely.
He closed the laptop just after he finished his food. He set them aside before watching his student beside him. Taking his own blanket, he covered the teen with it and watched again. Tsuna looked more peaceful than days ago. As if he could also breathe freely because he was able to see a way through. He didn't know the extent of the brunet's perseverance to get what he wants and find Koro-sensei's cure. But if he's going lengths to open up his laptop again that he admitted not using in hacking for years, then he'd do it to ends of the world. Regardless of how quiet and passive the brunet was, he has this practical way of getting what he wanted when he put his mind on it. He wouldn't even be surprised if he'd hack the satellite just to get the information from the space.
He sighed and smiled softly before patting the brunet's mane. The latter leaned on the gesture before curling more.
"Thank you, Tsuna-kun." He said softly.
"Come in."
Tsuna opened the sliding door and stepped inside the hospital room. The room was what the brunet has expected for an actress to accommodate. It was bright, neat and wide enough for her to breathe. There were some flowers on the side, some baskets of fruits, and teddy bears. Probably from celebrity friends.
Brown eyes didn't dare look down to the paperbag he has in his hands. Well, it didn't hurt to feel insecure about it, but at least he brought something with him. He did turn his gaze to Kaede who appeared surprised to see him. Her green hair was down, wearing the hospital gown and sitting on the bed with a book faced down on her laps. She must have been reading when he knocked.
"T-Tsuna-kun." The lady uttered. "W-What are you doing here?"
The brunet shrugged as he closed the door. "I figured you'll be alone on New Year's so I decided to come and visit at the same time."
"But this late in the evening?" The greenette gawked and turned to the round wall clock. "It's ten!"
"I usually get out of my job by eleven-thirty." He flippantly said as he put the paperbag on the side table and started to unpack them. "My manager kinda let me out early since it's new year. He figured I have some people to see."
"How did you get in?" The girl asked, inspecting the things he brought.
"The backdoor was unguarded." He answered before offering a container with finger food. "Here. I think you'll like that."
"O-Oh. Thank you."
"There's a pudding here too, if you want. Mio-san persuaded me to make pudding, so I figured I'll take three. Itona may not look like it, but he enjoys sweets sometimes."
"I could barely imagine." Kaede giggled, trying to imagine the whitehead eating a lot of sweets while tinkering his techs.
Tsuna gave a small amused smile. "Too passive?"
"That." And she laughed.
Tsuna hummed as the lady ate while reading her book. He asked if it was alright to put the food on her bed table which she permitted without any second thoughts. The lady gaped at the amount of food he presented. It wasn't that much... Or it was? Cause when Tsuna realized it too, it was the first time for him to prepare that big. Usually, he didn't celebrate New Year's, so Manager Ota let him do all the evening shift and kick him out the next morning to at least get some sleep. It was his remedy for being alone.
Tsuna switched on the TV with her urges. He put it on low volume and watched news while eating finger food. He was on a British international news and was about to take some more food when he noticed how Kaede kept glancing at him.
"Yes, Kaede-san?" He queried.
"Nothing!" The greenette sheepishly responded. "Just curious." Green eyes went for the TV. "No wonder you're very intelligent."
"It's a practice." He answered, glancing at the headlines. "Just in case."
"I should probably work hard too." She tells to herself. "Like speak more English fluently so if I get a good international role, I won't need some interpreter to translate my words."
"That's a good way of thinking." He praised, making the girl blush.
"I-I heard K-Koro-sensei usually goes to your apartment to eat, is he coming here?" She asked in a soft voice.
"That's generally the plan." He answered. "But if you don't want him to come, I could tell him."
"No!" She flushed in embarrassment from her sudden outburst before clearing her throat. "I-I mean, I don't mind Tsuna-kun. Koro-sensei is welcome to come. He is also someone who I can related with since we both lost my sister in some sense. And he's your usual visitor."
"He's like a family, honestly." He reached out for a water bottle and was about to drink when Kaede said something.
"My sister once told me something about you." Tsuna turned his gaze to her. She nodded in confirmation. "In that short period at March, she said she noticed someone among her class that could keep up. That doesn't really mind being there. She said you could answer hard Math equations, probably some equations Koro-sensei came up during that start of the year. She also said that you're approachable and can tell you what's wrong in class from her point of view. I think I remember you told her that she just has to keep up what she's doing cause it's working and they'll eventually open up."
"O-Oh." Was all he could say.
"You're not really the type to interact, Tsuna-kun." Kaede smiled understandingly. "You'll talk when we approach you. You're a great listener too, and most people need that kind of someone. I kinda know now how important Koro-sensei is to you, and I apologize for calling him a murderer and a monster."
"Shouldn't you be saying that to Koro-sensei?" He asked.
Kaede giggled. "You're more offended than him when someone calls him that. Hell, if you could just kill Yanagisawa, you would have already for calling Koro-sensei a monster every single time he encounters the class."
"Itona said I infuriate Shiro a lot because I get his plans useless. Which is good." He shrugs before smiling widely. "I'm waiting for a day that I could kill him with his own research. Well, if Koro-sensei allows me, of course."
"Yeah. As much as you fret over him, he worries about you too." Kaede huffed, making both of them laugh. "But do you think Yanagisawa put it too?"
He nodded his head, eyeing the TV. "I think and I know he is grooming his own kinds. I won't even be surprised if that man he was with on that night has some too. It's like he thinks he can play that thing. I won't even be surprised if it kills its host."
"Koro-sensei is amazing to be able to control his tentacles that expertly." The girl observed.
"Generally, Koro-sensei is awesome." He summarized, earning some giggle.
Tsuna was about to ask why she was laughing when they heard a small rattle by the windows. The brunet watched as a tentacle's two finger pads knocked on the window. He chuckled at his teacher's antics as he stood up. He went for the window and opened the sliding glass. He took in the cool breeze that came in before turning to their teacher who was pasting himself on the wall. He laughed at Daemon's deadpan expression. Koro-sensei laughed as well, knowing well enough what Daemon's face looked like.
Since Tsuna was able to 'pinpoint' the said correct theories, he was able to persuade Koro-sensei to live at his old apartment. It was more of a demanded compensation of the brunet from the man for not telling him the truth from the very start. The teacher was reluctant since he didn't want to be a burden, but Tsuna reasoned that the former could use it since he has been spending some money on the room even though he's not using it. It was just for appearances for Vongola and their stupid schemes. And since he has a feeling that their trip to Namimori wouldn't be overdue, might as well let the man live there so the payment wouldn't go to waste. In the end, Koro-sensei agreed.
They kinda went for some appliances shopping, house things, and groceries. Like any other day, Koro-sensei went reluctant to accept such, saying they weren't sure that he'd survive the next months. Tsuna assured him that it's okay and Itona could use them if there was no choice. Besides, they're using Tsuna's card since—as the brunet said it—the money there got too stuck. Enthusiastic even with the thought of his death, Koro-sensei finally relented. Tsuna didn't mind a little bit.
(Daemon cackled by the top shelves while watching the two shop. He maybe a doll, but he could see how their flames connect in a solider bond. Like a sky coaxing his sun to shine through the dark days. If Tsunayoshi was to get angry at the thought of his teacher's death, he'd probably snap their bond in to place and keep it there. And if that happens, the God of Death would have no choice but strive harder to live. No element wants to see their sky cry in pain of lost bond.)
(Oh he couldn't wait to see that happen.)
Itona generally didn't know, but he didn't question the sudden food that gets on their table even when Koro-sensei doesn't visit their apartment anymore. Koro-sensei did so to give the tech savvy teen have more time to think about the teacher's past. Tsuna was already fixed on curing him, so he couldn't generally give the brunet a 'space to think' (pun intended). He was more of letting the brunet think of his next move in regards to the complete theory paper about Koro-sensei's situation, and Tsuna accepted that. He couldn't wait to impress his teacher.
"Good evening, Koro-sensei, Daemon." He greeted with a smile.
"Good evening, Tsuna-kun." The teacher greeted back with a beam.
"Good evening, Tsunayoshi." Daemon greeted as well.
"Please do come in. Kaede-san is already eating." He invited as he walked in. The teacher slipped in and closed the window. "Come here, Daemon." And he took the doll from Koro-sensei's graduation gown and held him in his arms like always.
"Kayano-san." Koro-sensei called to Kaede with a soft smile. "How are you? I heard from Tsuna-kun that you're recovering well."
The girl turned to him, surprised.
"One of my job managers is friends with the doctors here since his best friend is a doctor too. Anyway, he got the news that you're from my class, and at some point, he thought it's my responsibility to know your situation, so he keeps me updated." Tsuna elaborated to Kaede who 'oh'-ed.
"I am fine, Koro-sensei. I'll probably get discharged by next week." The lady replied with an assuring smile.
Koro-sensei beamed. "That's good."
"Here, Sensei." Kaede placed a container of taiyaki to their teacher's way. "Have some."
"Oh! Is that chocolate filling I smell?" The man asked walking in further.
"There are four flavors." Tsuna informed as he sat on his previous seat, Daemon on his laps and hanging on his arms. He looked up to the teacher who took a seat on the other side as well and hummed delightfully at the presented delicacies. "Two savory, two sweets. Have your fill, you two."
The two chorused a 'yes' and started to talk of how good the taiyaki before moving to the other food.
"You'll be completing your main elements in no time with this, Tsunayoshi." Daemon said.
"Let's just hope that everything goes well from now on." He sighed as he watched the two compare sweets.
Oh how almost right he was.
