Hey! Hey! Hey! Hope you enjoyed last chapter and had a great last week and weekend. Mines was pretty okay I literally worked and slept because I had final exams and when I tell you it was intense woooo yall it was intense. But, I did start my classes back this week and it will require a lot of my time I am going to try my best to keep you all happy as well. Anyways, I really enjoy reading reviews please keep them coming! But here is the next chapter please enjoy.
Nora was standing outside by the front of the hospital waiting on Max. She had not told anyone yet because she was concerned about Loren and everything going on but she was talking to Max on the phone when Melissa called her. She was shocked because he called her to try to apologize for his actions. She was so confused by the phone call because for one she did not know how he got her number and two why even bother? While she was about to walk to her car, Max ended up walking out the doors.
Max: Hey Nora, I thought you were waiting for me?
Nora stopped and smiled: I was waiting for you, but a lot got into my head, and I was just going to leave.
Max frowned: Like what?
Nora sighed: it is a lot Max and it is late I think I need to get home
Nora started to walk away but, Max gently grabbed her hand because he did not want her to leave he still wanted to be in her space so, he looked at his watch and said: it is about 10:00 would you like to go out for late coffee, I know this place is not too far from here and they close at 1 in the morning.
Nora removed her hand from his because she felt like that was where she belonged and knew that could not happen, but she did want coffee so why not agree?
Nora put her strand of hair behind her ear: um sure coffee would be great.
Max nodded and smiled because he felt like this was his chance to get to know her: great! I can walk you to your car and you can follow me.
Nora: thanks Max
Max and Nora walked to their cars and drove to KM Coffee, he knew no one was aware that he owned it besides the workers because Katie loved Coffee and he felt that keeping her memory alive would help him and Eddie cope but, he knew that he would have to let Katie go but she will always be in his heart regardless of him moving on. Finally, Nora and Max pulled up to the coffee shop and got out of their cars.
Nora walked up beside Max and they walked inside: I love this place I come here every morning before I go to work but I did not know they stayed open until 1.
Max eyes raised: really? I am here every morning and I never noticed you and I am sure I would have.
Nora blushed and looked away while sitting at a booth. One of the waiters waved and walked over to the booth.
Waitress: Hi Boss and Ms. Nora are you both getting the usual?
Max looked at Nora: looks like you are regular, but, I want your famous drink that everyone raves about in here, how about you Nora?
Nora smiled: yes, the usual I already know because I always get her famous drink every morning, it is the hazelnut caramel frappe with vanilla whipped cream and caramel drizzle
Max laughed: well, I guess I will love this so two of those, please.
Waitress: perfect coming right up
Nora: So, I overheard her say boss do you own this place too?
Max nodded: yeah, I do, I opened this about a few months after Katie passed away. I wanted to do something in her honor for Eddie and I because it took a lot out of us both.
Nora: I am sorry about your loss that really shocked everyone. I will admit you both were my favorite I have every album.
Max smiled: really? I would not have guessed that after you almost kicked my ass the other day.
Nora laughed: hey when it comes to my daughter, I will do that and you were accusing her of something I knew she wouldn't do
Max: yeah, I can understand that and again I apologize I am the same way about Eddie so I am protective of him
Nora nodded and both of their drinks came. Nora moaned because it was so good and Max did the same.
Max: I should have been drinking this instead of black coffee
Nora gagged: eww black coffee how can you drink that?
Max shrugged: it was always a thing I guess but, tell me about you Nora I want to get to know you.
Nora blushed: trust me there is nothing exciting about little old me besides Loren and now my future grandbaby that is about it.
Max smiled and grabbed her hand: I am sure there is more Nora tell me about your life.
Nora: well before we do that you never told me how did you get my number?
Max: after you left that day you were going to beat me up I realized later on that I was interested in you Nora, I have a private investigator who is also my best friend and he gave me your information I had your phone number for a couple of days until I decided to call if I overstepped I am sorry but, I felt like I was not going to see you again fast enough and I just wanted to see and talk to you.
Nora blushed: that is so sweet Max if you were someone else, I probably would have cussed you out and left but I am interested in you too as well but, I do have baggage if you didn't have that information.
Max frowned: besides your ex-husband?
Nora: yes, I have not dated in a while because of him, I think my boss is trying to date me but, I just can't because I am in fear that my ex-husband will come back
Max: but why? He left you and Loren.
Nora: that is part of it but, I had to leave with Loren because he would have killed us.
Max: so wait there is more?
Nora stood up and grabbed her purse: this is why I did not want to date or get involve I mean I am interested in you Max but, I want to keep you out of harms way, I am going to go.
Nora ran out of the coffee shop while Max ran after her: Nora wait! Give me the chance to make that decision don't make it for me I want to see where this between us can go
Nora shook her head side to side and got in her car: I am so sorry Max I just can't.
Max sighed and walked back inside he pulled money out of his pocket and gave it to the waitress.
Waitress: Max you do this every time you are the owner it is free for you
Max: I know but, I want to make sure you guys are getting what you deserve even though I am the owner and boss I need you guys here to keep this business running so tips and pay I give
Waitress: thanks Max and that is why we love you here. So, you and Ms. Nora? (She smiled)
Max smiled back: I am trying but she won't let me in she is a hard egg to crack
Waitress: that is what you need Max it has been years just give her time
Max nodded, said his goodbyes, and left to drive home. The next day Loren was still at the hospital, but she was getting discharged. Eddie stayed in the room with her, and Melissa and Ian went home but, they were going to Loren's house because Eddie wanted to do a little lunch for her with everyone there so she could feel much more love.
Eddie opened his eyes and noticed that Loren was not in the bed, after everything that had gone on with her ex-husband and Chloe, he felt like he had to protect and guard her more: Loren?
Loren: in the bathroom Eddie
Eddie sighed with relief and waited until she came out of the bathroom. When she did that he could not stop staring because of how beautiful she looked, she had this glow, and that made him smile. Loren had on a comfortable maxi dress that was mint green and her hair was pulled up in a cute messy bun.
Loren walked towards him and touched his face: is everything okay?
Eddie nodded: yeah you just look really beautiful I am happy that you are going to be the mother of my child.
Loren blushed: oh, Eddie I am happy to be the mother of your child
They were about to kiss but, Doctor Sharon walked in: Good morning Ms. Tate I bet your up and ready to go home
Loren nodded while Eddie went to grab the rest of her things that Melissa had brought her back last night.
Doctor Sharon: so Ms. Tate, as we both know your child is doing well and you are doing well but I do feel that you need to take it easy and try your best to stay stress free, I know you're a lawyer and you have that big case but you might have to pass it down to someone because you will be considered a high risk pregnancy patient and I do not want anything to happen to you or your child.
Eddie walked up: well then, she will just have to do that.
Loren turned and looked at him: I cannot just stop my job or my case my client is only open to me she will not work with anyone else and I need to do this I want to help her.
Eddie: Loren I understand that baby but, you have to think about your health as well as our childs'
Doctor Sharon: I agree Ms. Tate maybe you can talk with your boss and possibly work from home and see if you can help from the inside, I am not a lawyer, so I am not sure but just a thought
Loren sighed: let me just think about this, please
Doctor Sharon: that is fine Ms. Tate but I am going to put a note with your discharge paper to give your boss so you can have time off.
Loren: how much time are we talking?
Doctor Sharon: the whole pregnancy you are high risk so do not put your child in any distress you have to make sure you are not stressed out.
Loren: I understand, let me just talk this out with my boss and see what I can do.
Doctor Sharon smiled: okay that is good to know here are your papers and you are free to go, please feel free to contact me if you need any help or have any questions about anything.
Loren nodded and Doctor Sharon gave her the papers and walked out. Eddie walked over to Loren and kissed her cheek: hey we will get through this you will be fine okay
Loren sighed: I know I know it is just a big change being by myself and doing things on my own was my schedule and now I am literally going to have to work from home to be able to take care of myself and our baby.
Eddie grabbed her bag and held her hand as they walked out: you sure you don't want the wheelchair.
Loren laughed: no I am okay I can walk, you know you should be careful walking freely you must have forgot that you are a famous rockstar
Eddie laughed and nodded as they got to the entrance of the hospital: we got here peacefully with no problem plus I have my hood over my head so they don't pay me any attention but, stand here and I will go get my car okay
Loren smiled: okay Eddie
Eddie walked away to get to his car. While Loren was waiting, she called her mom to tell her everything.
Nora: hey sweetie you almost home?
Loren: Eddie is getting the car now but, I wanted to just tell you what the doctor said but I am not sure if I can handle it.
Nora: okay what is wrong?
Loren: well, he said I'm high risk so I need to be home and away from my job to be stress-free
Nora: you do need that Loren but let me guess you don't want to leave your case.
Loren: exactly I worked so hard on that case for so long Mom and for me to just give it up to someone else does not sit right with me.
Nora: I understand sweetie but, talk with your uncle and I am sure he will work it out where you can still work on your case and help one of the other lawyers who will take it, that should be fine
Loren: that is what Dr. Sharon said I told her I would consider it.
Nora: yes, because you have to take care you yourself and my grandbaby
Loren: you sound like Eddie and speaking of him he is finally pulling up so I will call you when I get home.
Nora: Okay love you
Loren: love you too Mom.
Loren hung up while Eddie walked over to help her in the car. As soon as he got her situated, he ran to the driver's side and started to drive away. He looked over at Loren who was very quiet, so he grabbed her hand and kissed it.
Eddie: hey you okay?
Loren nodded: yes, I am okay just trying to get used to this change that will be happening.
Eddie: I know but I will be with you every step of the way
Loren looked at him and smiled: I know, and I appreciate that.
After that conversation, they both stayed silent until they finally pulled up to Loren's house. Loren got out of the car before Eddie could help her and she already started walking to the front door.
Eddie laughed after he got her bag out of the car: so, you just weren't going to wait for me huh?
Loren laughed while putting her key in the door: sorry I will make sure I wait next time.
When Loren pushed open her door, she got the shock of her life because she heard people yell surprise and she saw Melissa, Ian, her mom, and Max at her house with a lunch spread and saying welcome back home. Loren was so happy to see them she went and hugged everyone. Before she could say anything there was a knock at the door, when Nora went to open it, she saw Cameron.
Nora: you've got to be kidding me! Again?! Why are you here?
Cameron: I need to talk to Loren.
Loren walked over: Cameron what is your problem why do you want to talk?
Cameron: I would appreciate it if we could talk alone.
Eddie walked up: absolutely not you already threatened us.
Nora mugged Cameron: you did what?!
Cameron: I am not here to cause trouble just let me talk to Loren
Eddie: not happening.
Loren grabbed Eddie's shoulder: I'll talk.
Nora, Melissa, Ian, and Max said at the same time: what?!
Hopefully, this was an okay cliffhanger! I wanted to kind of show Nora and Max's relationship and in the next chapter I will do a little snippet between Ian and Melissa, but I will always make sure Eddie and Loren are in each one!
