And here we are: the final chapter, AKA, the Epilogue of this story:
In a supermax facility, Supergirl awoke to find herself in a prison cell, more specifically a dome, groaning from a headache and from the Red Sun dampeners. She turned and saw Sentinel, Superman, J'onn, Valor, Kara, and Arrow outside of the prison cell.
"What- What happened? Did I kill anyone?" She asked.
"No" A voice from outside assured immediately. "No, you didn't kill anyone."
Supergirl froze as she heard a soft male voice. That voice... it couldn't be...
"Hello, Kara."
The figure walked towards the dome and placed his hand on the glass panel, it was Earth Prime Allen.
"Barry... Is it really you?" She whispered, not wanting to believe her own eyes as she got close to her side of the glass panel, walking to Allen. "I…..I've missed you so much. I-"
"Kara, I'm not your Barry." Allen said, lowering his hand from the panel.
"O-o-oh, right, I forgot. You're her Barry." Supergirl looked towards Kara before turning away, frowning with heartbreak and jealousy as she wiped tears from her eyes.
"Your Alex and Oliver explained everything to me, about what happened here and about my counterpart, and I want to say I'm so sorry for your loss." Allen began. "Kara, my world's Supergirl fights to protect her home and her people, and to her, every life is sacred. Is it not for you?"
"Barry, I was trying to give the world peace and protection." Supergirl tried to defend her actions.
"I know, I know, and I'm not judging you, no one here is." Allen calmed her down before continuing. "Kara, I understand that you wanted to bring peace to this Earth, but by murdering those that disagree or stand against you?"
Supergirl just stepped back as she felt a pang of guilt in hearing his words.
"Kara, how many people, husbands, wives, and children, will you kill for peace?" Allen asked.
Supergirl looked around to see Sentinel, Superman, J'onn, Valor, Kara, and Arrow looking at her, and it's there she realizes the full error of her ways. As she realized the horrors she brought with her Regime, Supergirl just looked at her hands, trembling, as tears brimmed her eyes.
"What have I done?" Supergirl whispered, before falling to her knees, crying. "What have I done?!" She sobbed.
Everyone's hearts broke at the sight of the former High Councilor crying, as well as the sounds of her wails. Supergirl was finally releasing her pent up emotions in one, heart-rending sob. All of her grief, her anger, and her pain released in one big cry.
Allen turned to Kara, and without hesitation or any of them both saying anything, she nodded. Allen walked towards Arrow and turned to him, and while Arrow hesitated for a moment, he then moved to the computer and typed on it before placing his handprint on the computer screen, opening the cell doors.
Allen stepped into the cell and placed a hand on Supergirl's shoulder, before Supergirl wrapped Allen in a fierce hug as she still sobbed. Unable to stand the heartbreaking sound of Supergirl's distraught cries, Allen quickly threw his arms around her and soothed her as tears streamed his face.
"It was so horrible without you, Barry! So horrible!" Supergirl cried into Allen's shoulder. "And I know that this doesn't excuse what I've done, but I see now... that tyranny and surveillance is not the way to true peace, peace is something that must be earned and fought for. But I've learned that the hard way it's too late, so many of our friends and family have died and this madness."
Supergirl then turned to the others with tearful looks.
"Alex, J'onn, Kal, Mon-El, and Oliver... you were all right. And I didn't listen to either one of you, and because of my hubris, it cost us everything. I know you may never forgive me, but if you do, then-"
Supergirl was cut off when Sentinel rushed in and engulfed in her sister in a hug, as tears streamed Sentinel's face. Supergirl returned the hug as they both cried.
"Kara, you are my sister and I love you, no matter what comes our way. looked at her when she added. But... these actions have consequences and this will reverberate for some time. And we're going to have to work on that." Sentinel said
"She's right, Kara, but you won't go through this alone." Superman said.
"We'll be with you, by your side." Valor finished.
And then all stood in silence, pondering over everything that had happened and would happen.
Arrow stepped forward, in front of Supergirl. "Kara, the President called me earlier, she said wants to offer you a choice..." Supergirl stood up to her feet, yearning to know more about this... offer.
"She said that you can work besides her, as her bodyguard, as a way to earn and regain the trust of the people, or you take a bargain plea and can be placed under house arrest." Arrow said, to Supergirl's surprise. "Either way, you'll be pardoned for your actions and legal issues will be avoided, but public opinion is something we won't be able to control." He finished.
Supergirl immediately made the decision in a heartbeat.
"I'll take the house arrest." She said without hesitation.
"Are you sure about this? I mean, you'd just be wearing an ankle bracelet at all times and wouldn't go anywhere at all times." Arrow asked Supergirl, wanting to make sure that she was doing the right thing.
"Very." Supergirl firmly said, "After the Regime, I... I can't trust myself in any form of government. You were right, Oliver. We don't belong with the government, none of us do."
"I'm glad, now if we're finished, we have work to do." Arrow announced to everyone in the room.
Starling City:
After the fall of the Regime, Agent Liberty, Ray, Flash, Ralph, Vibe, Frost, Roy, the Canary Sisters and Guardian placed Huntress, Olsen, Hawkgirl, Artemis, Derek Sampson, China White, Boomerang, and Cupid in a ARGUS prisoner transport truck.
Artemis and Huntress turned to Roy and the Canary Sisters, who looked at each other and nodded at them both, knowing they did the right thing in the end.
Fortune Bay, Newfoundland:
The John Henry Irons of this Earth and his daughter, Natasha, place flowers on Madame Steel's grave.
The tombstone read "Lena Kieran Luthor: October 24, 1983- September 7, 2024. Beloved Daughter, Wife, Friend."
On the epitath, it says "Appreciate That We Still Have Friends That Believe In Us."
John Henry then knelt before Madame Steel's tombstone and placed his on it.
"There's a lot I want to say, Lena, but I can't find the words." He began, before taking a deep breath and continuing. "But I promise you, that I will do everything to continue what you started, and I will make sure that our little girl grows up knowing how much you loved her." He finished.
"I miss you, my love."
Supergirl, dressed in funeral clothing, approached Madame Steel's grave and placed flowers down.
"John Henry, I-" She started
"Don't!" John Henry said wearily. "Oliver Queen may have saved you and Lena may have had faith in you, but that doesn't mean I'm ready to fight by your side yet."
"Just go. Now." John Henry said tiredly, before taking his daughter's hand, and sat down in front of Madame Steel's grave. Supergirl only lingered for a moment longer before she took off to the skies and left, flying back to her designated location for her house arrest.
Kent Family Farm, Smallville:
Superman returned home to his family, his head bowed in regret and shame with a solemn look, before Lois, the boys, and Martha stood up from their chairs.
Superman was going to say something but waited until Lois spoke her mind, but rather than Lois saying something, she instead ran to Superman and wrapped him in a tight hug, stunning him in surprise.
"You did the right thing, Clark." She mumbled on his shoulder, before shoving him, not hard enough but to push or hurt him, but enough to make a point. "But never do that to me, or our family ever again!" She shouted.
Superman then nodded before Lois pulled him back into a loving kiss.
"Deal."
Jonathan and Jordan then approached their dad and wrapped him in a hug, with Superman returning it. Martha went to her son and embraced him.
"So how'd you do it, Dad? How'd you leave the Regime?" Jordan asked his father.
"Well, Jordan, I thought about your mother, your grandmother, and you two." Superman began explaining
Nanda Parbat, Hindu Kush Mountain Range:
In the Lair of the League of Assassins, Nyssa, White CanarySpeedy, and Talia watched as the Ring of Ra's Al Ghul burned, while Nyssa and Talia's Assassins held Athena and Dark Archer, both imprisoned in chains, along with the Assassins loyal to them both.
"In 1854, my father, Ra's Al Ghul, encountered an illusionist in Vienna, and he was dazzling." Nyssa spoke as she turned around and Dark Archer's face showed fear again for a second, "Magnificent, Powerful."
Nyssa then walked closer and started pacing around him and Athena, like a cat waiting to pounce on their prey, "And then nearly half a century later, my father stumbled upon this man again, only this time he was withered, broken, and dying."
She grabbed Dark Archer's face and said, "You see, a magician can cheat many things. Except one, death.
Nyssa could only glare at Athena and Dark Archer, with no signs of remorse or pity before she declared,
"Al Sa-her, also known as Malcolm Merlyn, real name Arthur King, for your crimes of terroism against the people of the world, for your violation of the League's Code of Honor, and for the murder of countless innocents, and for the murder of my beloved; you have been found guilty and will receive the ultimate punishment."
Dark Archer paled in fear, shaking his head.
"Athena, for your complicity in Al Sa-her's crimes, you as well will meet the same fate that awaits him." Nyssa continued, with Athena paling as well.
"Nyssa, please! I was your father's horseman. This time, let me hunt for you. Allow me to prove to you my loyalty and alleigence to you!
Others would be fooled by his words. But not Nyssa. She instantly saw through the Dark Archer's tricks.
"Al-Sa-Her, do us a favor and do not further dishonor yourself. Face your death with at least dignity." She said, and Dark Archer and Athena could both detect a trace of disgust in her voice.
"Please don't do this." Dark Archer begged.
"There is a price you must pay for your crimes." Nyssa said coldly, "That can only be measured in blood. But know I will take no pleasure in this."
Turning to the assassins, she said, "Line them up, and execute them!"
The four assassins grabbed Dark Archer and Athena as they both shook their heads in fear.
"No." Dark Archer whispered.
He then turned to Speedy.
"Thea! Thea… Please help… I'm…..your father", Dark Archer cried out, pleading to his 'daughter'.
"I said this before, and now I will say it again. My real father was Robert Queen! We may be blood, but we are not family!" Speedy declared firmly and in that moment, Dark Archer knew he and Athena weren't getting out of this.
The four assassins started dragging him away as Dark Archer's pleas grew louder.
"No! NO! NOOOOO!"
The four assassins then brought Dark Archer and Athena to a platter as he started begging again, "No! Please don't! We will serve you!"
The four assassins dragged Dark Archer and Athena to the platter and forced his head upon it. Ra's walked towards them with Nyssa on his side, holding his sword.
As Nyssa and Speedy stood over the cowering Dark Archer, Talibah presented them both with their respective swords. Ra's held the hilt and pulled it out.
"Please! I'm afraid! I've always been afraid! Spare me! I will serve you!" Dark Archer begged as Nyssa looked down on him with disgust.
She and Speedy then raised their blades.
"Al-Sa-Her and Athena. I, Nyssa Raatko, Ra's Al Ghul, the Demon's Head, Leader of the League of Assassins, Ruler of Nanda Parbat, Protector of the Realm, now sentence you both to die." Nyssa announced.
Dark Archer's life flashed before his eyes, hyperventilating as tried to resist.
"It is as Nyssa said, Al-Sa-Her. Let us face death, with honor and dignity." Athena groaned weakly, before closing her eyes, accepting her fate.
Speedy then brought her sword down on Athena, slicing her head off her neck and rolled down on the floor as Athena's body toppled a moment later.
And then Nyssa brought her blade down on Dark Archer, his head flying as blood flew in the air, splattering on the sword. His head landed on the ground a few feet away, a glassy look in his eyes, as his body fell back limply.
"What happens now, my Liege?" One of Nyssa's Assassins' asked.
"Now, we will build a better world." Nyssa began, "Restore what has been forgotten, bring down what tore us apart, and most importantly..." She then slides her hand into White Canary's and interlocks them as the latter turns to Nyssa in surprise.
"We do this together." Nyssa finished, looking at White Canary.
White Canary then smiled back and grasped Nyssa's hand.
"Together." She responded.
Central City:
The Flash, Vibe, Ralph, and Frost assisted the people of Central City in rebuilding the cities and taking down Regime Propaganda banners and posters, along with the Rogues helping, in a way.
Flash helped in clearing the rubble from the streets, Frost made snowflakes from her hands to put smiles on the children's faces, Vibe opened breaches to send debris to elsewhere, and Ralph made balloon animals thanks to his elasticity.
Smallville:
A few days later, in the Kent Family Home, Superman, Supergirl, Arrow, Valor, and Sentinel spoke to Supergirl
"There's something you should know, Kara. The real truth of what happened five years ago." He then showed Supergirl the whole footage of Batwoman's deception and betrayal.
To say that Supergirl took this well, would be a lie. After viewing the entire footage and everything else, she stormed outside and grabbed a mallet and smashed the concrete ground, roaring in an unfathomable anger and pain, blaming herself and calling herself a fool to have ever trusted Batwoman.
Supergirl's mallet smashing became weaker, and then she broke down in tears, dropping to her knees and the mallet as well. Superman, Valor, and Sentinel then knelt beside Supergirl and wrapped her in a hug.
Mid-Credit Scene:
Lian Yu:
It took some weeks to find Batwoman, but she was eventually caught, arrested, and put away in an A.R.G.U.S. prison cell on Lian Yu. She will never come into contact with society nor will anyone miss her.
However, a man then approached her cell, who looked somewhere to be in his mid to late 20's, suited in a tactical/armored version of the Batsuit that takes inspiration from Batman's appearance but his mask was technological and blue. Though his face is never shown due to his mask, the man's appearance was filled with contempt and utter disdain as he approached Batwoman's cell.
"If you have something to say, then say it already... Jason!" Batwoman snarled
"Why would you do this, Kate?" Jason Todd, the Arkham Knight, demanded, his voice modulated. "Why would you turn against us? Betray his code, his vow, all of it!"
"Because I can, and because I needed to show you so-called 'heroes' that no good deed goes unpunished."
"You murdered everyone in cold blood!" The Arkham Knight snapped "Allen, J'onzz, Lena Luthor, Jim, Alfred, Barbara, Tim, and Dick! All gone because of you!"
"So? They were already dead the moment they began this life! He allowed criminals such as Joker to walk free and let them kill again! This world needs people like us! Bruce was weak and pathetic." Batwoman shrugged apathetically. "Even after he saw his parents murdered senselessly for jewelry by Joe Chill, he couldn't man up and do what must to be done! Instead, he put them in prison or Arkham Asylum, and all of them walked out or escaped! A week later! A month later! It never made a difference! And when I tried to tell him about my side, he gave me the bullshit self-righteous lecture. 'We are not murderers. We are better than them.' Oh right! When they get out and kill, the blood is on his hands as much as theirs! He was part of the problem! He deserved to die! They deserved to die! All of them! The way Martha and Thomas died!"
Arkham Knight just stared at Batwoman, seeing that she is too far gone and realizing what he must do next.
"So, in other words, like how you deserve to die."
Batwoman turned to Arkham Knight, looking at him incredulously.
"On the one hand, you are right, Kate. Scumbags like Chase and Lex Luthor deserve to be put down like rabid dogs. But on the other hand, some criminals are deserving of a second chance, something you're unworthy to earn. There's far, and then there's too far, Kate! And you have gone far enough." Arkham Knight said.
"And look who's talking, hypocrite." Batwoman sneered.
That seemed to tick off Arkham Knight as he then burst into Batwoman's cell and pushed her into the wall in a hard slam, landing hard blows on her face as she spat a wad of blood on the wall, staining it.
Picking her up, Arkham Knight punched Batwoman's face multiple times, breaking her nose and splitting her lip as blood trickled down while he roared. "YOU DID NOT WANT TO GIVE YOUR PEOPLE HOPE! YOU ARE NOT EVEN THE STUPID KIND OF HERO! YOU JUST WANTED THEM TO SEE YOU'RE A WOMAN! YOU LET ALICE WALK AWAY EVERY TIME YOU TWO MEET! YOU SUPPLIED TWO MADMEN WITH WEAPONS TO DESTROY TWO MAJOR CITIES! YOU'RE A MONSTER! A TRAITOR! AND A VILLAIN! AND ON TOP OF THAT, YOU'RE JUST A SELFISH COWARDLY PERSON WHO DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE CALLED A HERO!"
With that, he threw her down. "YOU'RE AN EGOTIST WHO PRETENDS SHE IS THIS SAVIOR OF GOTHAM CITY! SO DON'T YOU DARE PRETEND YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME! BECAUSE YOU ARE SO MUCH WORSE THAN I AM!"
"You're no hero, you're just a self-righteous monster pretending to be one for credit", Arkham Knight sneered at her. "Bruce, Dick always thought that you didn't have the guts to get your hands dirty, but he was wrong, since you constantly let Alice walk away. You supplied weapons to our enemies, and murdered our friends, allies, and our families, therefore you are part of the problem."
"And you know something? Gotham City is better off without you, and they'll be better off without you."
And with that, a sickening crack was heard in the cell, but no one came to intervene considering that the Arkham Knight knocked them out cold and unconscious. The Arkham Knight then dropped Batwoman's limp body to the ground, looking down on her coldly.
Arkham Knight breathed heavily. "For Alfred, Jim, Barbara, Tim, Lena Luthor, Ramirez, Smoak, J'onzz, and Allen, and for everyone else who died in this madness."
The Arkham Knight then left Batwoman's cell, leaving her corpse behind.
Post Credit Scene 1:
Lex Luthor and Adrian Chase were awaken to find themselves in a unknown world.
"Luthor, what is this place? Are we dead and in the afterlife?" Chase asked.
"Highly doubtful, Mr. Chase. We did die but we are not in heaven, and yet we're not in hell either." Lex responded. "This seems to be a realm outside of the normal universe, one where space and time hold no meaning." He theorized.
"Yes, you are correct, Lex Luthor." A voice said, making them turn around in surprise. "I brought you both here because your deaths were premature and you're both needed for the coming war. A final battle that will decide the fate of this Earth and the entire Multiverse.
"What 'war'? Just who are you and how do we play a role in this?" Chase demanded, losing his patience.
The man then bursts laughing.
"Such impatience from a mortal." The man remarked. "Very well then, my name is Mar Novu, but I am known as The Monitor." He introduced himself.
Lex and Chase stepped back in shock.
"Follow me, we have much to discuss and much to prepare for." Mar Novu said, walking away.
Post-Credit Scene 2:
In the fiery planet of Apokolips, the New God Darkseid observes his homeworld over the balcony, until his scientist Desaad and Granny Goodness arrive with 16 silhouetted people behind them.
"My master, it is with great honor that we introduce you with our greatest creation yet, next to our Parademons." Desaad announced as he knelt before the New God of Apokolips. "We present your Elite and the Female Furies."
The silhouetted figures then stepped out to reveal themselves, it was the fallen heroes and villains that have died in this conflict, but more cybernetically infused and enhanced with Apokoliptian technology: Darkseid's Elite consisted of the Atom, Elongated Man, Martian Manhunter, Arsenal, Wild Dog, Vigilante, Dark Archer, Hawkman Carter Hall, Spartan, Icicle, and Savitar. The Female Furies consisted of Red Arrow, Batwoman, Black Siren, Athena, Jesse Quick, and Madame Steel.
"We await your command, Lord Darkseid."
Darkseid simply gave an evil smile, his aura giving out pure evil and terror.
And that is the final chapter of Arrowverse Injustice. I will plan a sequel, but this will mostly be inspired by Zack Snyder's Justice League. Currently, I have no plans to write that because I want to move on to another fic I'm currently working on, but let me know if you all enjoyed this.
Let me know of your own opinions of this fic in the comments.
Thanks again.
