She rolled over and looked at the empty bed next to her. 'Hm. Where did he get to this morning' she /Kit threw her legs over the bed and stood. She ran her fingers through her hair to try and tame it. She sighed 'I need a hairbrush. Maybe Sheik has one around here somewhere' she glanced around the room. 'Should've known he wouldn't have anything in here. This man only had one chair and a table. Until now that is. I wonder if they dropped off that furniture last night.' She opened the door and rounded the corner into the living area. The chairs and table were sitting in the kitchen and the bench was against a wall in the living room. She grinned and crossed her arms. 'That looks pretty nice in here,'br /"Thank you for this" Sheik said as he came up behind her. He looked at the ground and sighed. "You didn't have to do all of this but I appreciate it very much."br /"No, I definitely had to. Kay was most likely the instigator in all the destruction." Kit giggled and turned to look at him. "Where were you this morning? I didn't hear you get up and I swear you weren't in the house when I walked in here." He started her when he spoke suddenly right behind her. 'Stupid sexy ninja' she thought as she shook her /"While the rest of you were sleeping, I went to the market to grab some more potions and a few last-minute supplies," he said as he smirked at her. He placed a satchel on the new table and glass bottles clanked around /"Plus," he added "we needed to eat before we left and I did not wish to be held up waiting on those two in there to get a move on." he reached into the bag and pulled out a loaf of bread, some cheese, and dried /"Oh nice, we're getting to picnic on the way there!" Kay spoke as she rounded the hallway into the living /"Link will be in here in a minute. He's packing up his stuff so we can get going. Also, princess, you wouldn't have had to wait on me to pick up food this morning. I already picked us all up some breakfast yesterday." She grinned as she started to unload the bag she had on her arm. She pulled out a few different cheeses than Sheik had but otherwise they double supplies. Link came out of the bedroom and grabbed a chunk of bread and a slice of dried neat and started /"We ready to head out guys? We need to get a move on or we'll have to camp on the mountain tonight and I would prefer to not do that." Link said as he finished eating and gave Kay a quick /"Thank you for breakfast," he tucked some of her hair behind her ear and smiled gently "if you have anything else you think you'll need we should grab it now. Death Mountain is a rough hike."br /"Oh man," Kit groaned "I didn't think about hiking up that stupid mountain," she grumbled and grabbed her bags. Kay giggled behind her and loaded up the rest of the food. They all had their packs and started walking out the door. The early morning sun was completely blocked by the dark clouds and firey ring over the /"It looks like it's about to blow at any given moment." Kit shook her head and looked back toward the trail to the top. Link quickly killed the tektite that was trying to jump on them. Running behind the rocks and dodging builders as they came crashing down all around /'Well, this was one thing I was hoping had changed' Kit thought bitterly as a boulder slammed into the rock she and Sheik were currently behind. Sheik kept his hand on her waist as a second boulder slammed onto the /"Move!" Sheik shouted and pushed her towards the next rock. They kept running up and maneuvering behind rocks until they made it to the gates at Goron City. The trek had taken most of the day to get to the huge gates. Link walked in through the large opening and waved for the rest of them to follow. Once they made it inside the city Kit and Kay looked around in awe. Everything in the city looked like it was made for giants. The walkway around the hole in the center of the room was carved directly from the mountain itself and had an edge that was sloped up near the edge. There was a loud rumbling sound coming from down the cavern in the room. It almost sounded like rocks being scrapped together. Kit chuckled as she thought about the goron named Link rolling around on the second /"We need to find a way down," Kay said as she inched her way closer to the edge. She had never looked for a door when she had been running around in here while she was playing. She had always just jumped down but that drop was a lot scarier in person. Link grabbed her wrist and pulled her back towards /"There should be a door just over here. We can walk down over here. That's a big drop and I'd prefer it if you didn't get that close to it. Something is going on down there and I don't want whatever that is knocking you down." he frowned as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her toward the hallway leading to the second floor. Kit snickered and was glad he knew how clumsy her sister was already. Kay could trip over flat ground. They made their way down the hall and found the source of the noise was the young goron rolling around. Only he was a bit different than the girls remembered. He had to be at least four feet tall in his rolling form. He was also half the width of the second-story walkway. Link shoved them back when the giant rolled past at what had to be a million miles an hour. Kay's face went pale and she looked at /"Were they always this big? I swear they were almost people sized!" Kit exclaimed and gripped Link's /"Goron are normally very large. You should see Darunia. He's the biggest out of all of them." Link chuckled while he remembered his childhood /"He's correct. This one doesn't seem to be halting. We need to find a way to get its attention without one of us being killed." Sheik looked over Kit's head at the goron rolling rapidly around the other side of the /"Well, you might not like the idea but I do have one," Kit said as she started to dig around in Link's bag. She pulled out one of his bombs and went digging for his /"Are you insane?" Sheik said as he grabbed the bomb out of Kit's hands. "No. This is absolutely not going to happen. Do you want to blow all of us up?" he shook his head and held the bomb up higher as she tried to reach for /"It'll work! This is the only way to get him to stop! He's a goron so it won't hurt him." Kit tried to explain. She huffed in frustration and crossed her /"How do you propose we do that? If we toss it out the door when the bomb explodes it could bring down the room we're standing in." Sheik handed the bomb to Link and slid up to the front with him. He looked out the door and as the goron raced by /"We could throw it on the other side of the room maybe?" Kay suggested from behind Link. "If we get it over there when he hits it we should be fine"br /"How do you suggest we get it over there?" Sheik gave Kay a pointed look and gestured at the cavern in the middle of the /"Well, one of us could run and throw the bomb. I see another doorway over there." Kay said as she pointed to the door across the way. Sheik sighed and crossed his toned /"How do you think the goron is going to respond? We need them to calm down and talk to us. He seems to be the only one left here" Sheik said as he took the bomb back from /"Trust me," Kit said as she placed her hand on his arm. She gave him a gentle squeeze and smiled at him "I promise I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't know it would work"br /"Fine. I'll get it over there." Sheik said as he took her hand and rubbed his thumb over her /"Let me She-" Link started but was cut off by /"No. I am faster. I'll get it over there" he took the flint from Link and waited for the opportunity to run. He took off and threw the bomb at the other side of the walkway and ducked back into the hallway just as the massive goron rolled past again. The goron hit the bomb and immediately /"HOW DARE YOU!" a thundering voice yelled after the /"Gannondorfs minions have no place here! Hear my name and tremble! I am Link! Hero of the Goron!" the goron started to stand from his position across the walkway. He looked at the Sheikah standing in the doorway closest to him and started to lumber closer to /"Wait!" Link yelled and ran towards the goron "Your name is Link? So is mine" the goron turned his head towards /"You? You are the hero who saved us?" the goron turned and started walking towards Link "that's so cool! My dad named me after you. His name is Darunia! Do you remember him? The goron asked /"Darunia is your dad?" Link asked "he's a really good man your dad. I didn't know about you though. I thought I met all the gorons the last time I was up here."br /"Oh i wasn't born then!" The Gordon stated with a smile. Suddenly the young gorons shoulders slumped and he started to sniffle a bit "My dad went into the temple to help save everyone but he isn't back yet and no one else is either. Can you help us Link? I miss my dad and my friends." Link stepped closer to the goron and placed a hand on his /"Of course I'll help you. Can you tell me what's going on in there?" Link asked the now sobbing /"T-t-there's a dragon in there. A long time ago there was a dragon in the mountain. A scary one! He ate Gorons! The hero of the Gorons used a HUGE hammer and BOOM! destroyed it just like that. Everyone says it's a myth but I know it's true! My dad is a descendent of the hero!" The Goron sniffled again trying not to crybr /"Everybody was taken while my dad went out. Ganondorfs followers came and took them all away. All of them are gonna be eaten by the dragon. Dad said Ganondorf has revived the dragon so he went all by himself," the goron pulled a package out and handed it to Linkbr /"Here. This should help you with the heat. My dad had it made for you. He always knew you'd come back to help us" the goron wiped his eyes and sat down on the ground. Kit came up and grabbed his handbr /"I promise we'll help get everyone back to you. Just hang in there sweetie" she said as she squeezed his hand. He squeezed back and Kit tried not to wince as her bones grind together. This kid was made of solid rock and that was most definitely not pleasant. He let go of her hand and she moved away silently shaking her hand as it ached. Sheik grabbed her hand when she walked back to the group to check for serious injury. He rubbed his thumb over her knuckles and held her /"Why did he give me a tunic?" Link said as he examined the /"It's inside of a volcano and it's gonna be super hot in there" Kay said as she reached out to touch the new tunic. It felt the same as any other clothing from this world. 'Huh, I always through it'd be different somehow. Seems like any other old tunic' she thought as she examined /"Let's find the store. We need another one of those" Kit started while pulling Sheik towards the lower level. "It's down here somewhere I believe." The group made their way down to the lower level and Link blew a hole through the rock that was blocking the shop owner in. He thanked them for moving the rock and welcomed them into the store/p
