Fairy Tail Origins Parva Alliance AU Rewritten
Chapter Four: Meeting new guild members and a shared past.
That next Saturday morning a ship with the guild mark of The Protectors could be seen on the way to Divinus Magia island as it was called on the Atlantide maps nowadays. There were two people on this bout. These two people were Bri and her younger cousin Mario.
"Okay Mario, we're almost at Divinus Magia island. I know that you don't like this, but you'll be safer with them than with me. With the Reaper's Hand still out there and after you it's safer for you to stay with them. I promise that I'll come and visit you every time I get a chase, okay?" Bri smiled at her cousin.
Mario was a young sixteen-year-old youth with black hair and brown eyes. He wore a green shirt with blue jeans, dark brown boots and a gold headband. He looked up at his cousin and nodded in understanding. Bri sighed, ever since she found out about him being in a dark guild and saw him for the first time in years, he was a lot quieter than he had been as a child.
With that in mind Bri had called the Diabolus twins about Mario's condition. She hoped that by having Mario staying with them Mario could recover in a safe and quite place without the hustle and bustle of city life in the background. She also hoped that staying on an island would give Mario an ideal training ground for him.
Soon enough they had arrived at Divinus Magia island. Bri led Mario off the boat and too the guild hall at the center of the island. Mario had to admit that it was impressive and a lot like that of his cousin's guildhall.
Entering the guild hall and making their way to the office, Bri and Mario found the twins there waiting for them. Ritche and Brandon saw their friend entering the guild office. "Hello Bri, I assume that that's your cousin behind you, yes?" Brandon smiled at the necromancer.
"Yes, this is my cousin Mario. You two remember what I told you about him what I told you about him, yes?" Bri asked with a frown. She had told them about her cousin on the day that she had offered them this sponsorship to ensure that they'd be ready for him.
"Yeah, we do, don't worry we'll take good care of him. Don't worry, we made sure that he has his own room here too. It has a lock that he can use from the inside and everything." Ritchie smiled softly.
"That's good, I wish I could keep Mario with us, but he wouldn't be happy at my guild. The fact that Andrew keeps making fun of him for being fooled by that dark guild when he was only about 9 when they found them and that I felt that he'd be safer here. I was also hoping that he'd find someone who he could relate to while he was here. Make sure to call me once a week to keep me in the loop, okay?" Bri smiled sadly. After talking for a bit longer Bri went home and left the guild to return to hers.
Ritchie went over to Mario with a soft and calm smile. "Alright Mario, my name is Ritchie, and this is my brother Brandon. We are your new guild leaders and will be taking care of your sentence. Are grandmother will be your Magic Counselor."
"Nice to meet you I guess…" Mario said with a distrusting tone. Ritchie didn't comment on it as he could understand the situation that the younger boy before him was in. It would have been better if Bri could keep him in her guild but the way the towns people reacted to ex dark guild members in that district was still being delt with.
There was a knock on the door and a voice called from the other side. "Yo boss, I heard the new guy is here. Ya wanted me to show him around right?" David called out from the other side of the office door.
"Yes David, come in." Ritchie called back as David opened the door. "David, this is Mario our new guild member. Mario, this is David your fellow guildmate and classmate at Everston. He will be showing you around the guild hall and school. Also David, I spoke to Mr. Ishikawa, and he will be in your homeroom has well and you'll be his student liaison when your class president isn't available." Ritchie explained and introduced the two of them.
David looked at the boy before him he didn't seem like the kind of child who'd join a dark guild willingly. He was probably manipulated into joining like his father had tried to do to him and his mother. He put those thoughts aside for now and showed Mario around the home of Divinus Magia. He avoided asking questions about his past since he knew that it was a sensitive topic for most of the guild to deal with. While everyone knew the surface details of their past to avoid triggering anyone they didn't know the full details. It wasn't a rule for say but you could say that it was a more of a unspoken rule of the guild that wasn't on paper. If you told someone more about it than that was a sign to that guildmate that you trusted them.
"So you're the new guy, ready for your tour of the guildhall?" He asked has a made sure to keep his distance from the boy has to has to not make him uncomfortable. Mario nodded and made David show him around the guild hall starting from the ninth floor down.
A day later Mario woke up in his new room in the guildhall dorms. Being that he hadn't lived here long it was pretty much the standard room that all new guildmembers had. Gray stone walls, dark brown wooden floors and a queen size bed with white bedding. Mario had been told that once someone joined the guild they were allowed to decorate their rooms in accordance to their preferences. But Mario wasn't used to that with the dark guild that he had been with making all his choices for him. His name would be placed on his dorm room door via a plaque but Ritchie was still getting that set up.
Mario got out of his night clothes and changed into the Everston academy uniform that he had been given it was the standard uniform that all the student had which gave Mario at least some comfort that helped since he was used to uniforms due to his old dark guild having a uniform too.
From what Mario heard the school itself was big enough to be considered a kingdom of its own in Mario's opinion. He was grateful that David had been ordered to show him around the school so he would know where everything was. He and David had been told at dinner last night to make their way to the school extra early to make sure they would have enough time to tour the school grounds, but students weren't allowed on grounds until seven in the morning unless they were boarding students and that only applied to the dorm area. But the headmaster had allowed an exception to this after hearing about Mario's situation and of course not only granted them early access to the school but had their sheard homeroom teach come in so that he could get to know Mario before class started.
This alone was one of the reasons why Brandon and Ritchie had chosen this place for David to attend when they got custody of him. The school aside from being one of the top schools in the Parva alliance was also known for it's top of the line headmasters in the last few years. The last headmaster of the school was known for his strict no nonsense but friendly attitude towards his colleagues.
After the Prava Alliance Political Civil War, the previous headmaster had retired has he had planned to for quite some time, his final action was selecting a new headmaster to take his place with the approval of the school's board. This new headmaster had been the head teacher of his year band and did a wonderful job has a teacher being responsible for helping his students raise their test scores and find opportunities to pursue after high school was and getting them out of unstable family situations. Not only that but his students were always successful later in life because of his methods. Some of them extremely so.
With all of those factors considered it was no surprise that the school board had decided to elect them to the position on his predecessor's recommendations unanimously. Ever since then the school's credibility has gone upwards from where it was. Needless to say, it was more than likely that he would either become superintendent or retire has headmaster.
Mario listened to David as he followed him though the school grounds and made their way to the classroom that would house their shared homeroom class, class ECA-4 or classroom ECA-4A. Class A for the year 1694. Under the care of Haruto Ishikawa it was currently leading the other classes in terms of test scores in fact if that kept being the case then Haruto might end up being the next head teacher for this year band of teachers.
"Alright here we are, ready to meet our teacher Mario?" David asked with a lighthearted tone. He, like Mario wore his Everston Academy uniform. They would have arrived at the classroom earlier, but David had insisted on seeing and introducing some of his classmates and friends at the school.
Mr. Ishikawa was a man in his early twenties. He had taken over for the old teacher of this class after the last one became the headmaster. Though this class had none of his influence since the headmasters final homeroom class had graduated the year he became headmaster and the one before him had retried after the school year's end. He wore a white button-up shirt under a red jacket and blue jeans with brown boots. His hair was neon purple with matching eyes.
Right now he was writing something on the board for the class. It was the homeroom class plan for the day. Today they would be introducing David and talking about carry aspirations. For fourth year was considered the first year of high school in the academy it was time for teachers to get their students to start thinking about what they wanted to do with their lives after school. That meant carrier aspiration lesson, talks about what classes they should take to see if it was really what they wanted, talks about college and other pathways for how to get their job of choice. All the things that came with thinking about the future after high school.
Having heard the door open he turned to see David with the new students he had been told had been placed in his class. The school policy stated that one to two weeks' notice had to be given to the teacher of that transfer student's class. This was so the teacher could prepare the students for the new arrival and prepare themselves for it as well. Especially in the cases of students with exceptional circumstances like the one he was getting now.
He had met Bri, his new student's cousins and the guild leaders she had been sent him to live with and the backstory that made up his new students' past. Being born into the noble house of Divil has one of the oldest after being taken off from the streets for some time before the house was attacked by an has of yet unknown dark guild then tricked into joining the same one after all failure on the foster system's part and being manipulated into doing their dirty work. It was natural that he might suffer from some trust issues which was why the headmaster had decided to allow Mario on the school grounds earlier than the other students so he could get to know him in the hopes that it would build trust between the two of them.
"Hey, Mr. Avian, I brought the new kid in just like you, Headmaster Scott, and the guild leaders asked. You ready for him?" The teen asked with a smile at his favorite teacher. Avian nodded and turned away from the board and smiled at his students. He walked over to the students while looking over the new kid. So far he didn't seem like the type that would be a difficult student.
"Good morning Ice boi. Yeah I'm good to get our new student settled in. Yo new kid my name is Haruto Ishikawa, but you can just call me a Haruto or Avian. Nice to meet ya." The man smiled at the kid. Like David did earlier he made sure to stop at a reasonable distance to make sure that Mario wouldn't see him as a threat.
"Nice to meet you too I guess…" Mario muttered loud enough to hear. The three of them talked for some time before the school day went on without many incident thanks to Haruto having briefed the class on the matters that came with the new student has much has he could without breaching the confidentiality agreement that had been set.
After the morning classes ended Mario made his way to the school psychologist's office. As a part of the conditional pardon that he had gotten form the Atlantide courts he was required to see a psychologist has often has needed according to his legal guardians, Bri, and lawyer. That being said, in Mario's case the psychologist had decided every three days for now. Mario wasn't sure what to make of this part of the agreement. He had already met the new psychologist once an energic friendly young woman named Kaleida Vehement and so far he had no issues with her. He made his way into the office where she was waiting for him to begin the session.
"Hello Mario, please have a seat." She greeted softly while gesturing to the chair that sat across from her. "So Mario last time we spoke you were just about to attend your first day here at Everston, how has it gone so far?" Kaleida asked him with an encouraging smile.
"Well, it's going alright I guess alright so far… David called me pebble brain and a few students wanting to know why I transferred here when I told them that I didn't want to talk about it. Don't know what class they were from but there're handled it pretty well by putting a stop to it." Mario told the woman with a frown.
"I'm sorry to hear that Mario but I'm glad that a teacher took care of things before it got out of hand. What do you think about the teachers you had so far?" Kaleida asked with a calm smile. He gave a thoughtful look before he answered.
"Well they're certainly better than the ones that I had at the dark guild. The ones I had would've hit you if you got the answer wrong. So the ones here are already better in that regard I guess. It odd being in such a big school though. Normally all the kids would share the same classroom back in the dark guild since there wasn't that many of us back then." Mario smiled at her.
"I'm glad to see that your time here is going well. Now how are you doing living with Divinus Magia?" Kaleida asked her newest patient with a clam smile.
"It's not so bad… Better then living with the protectors at the least. Back then the only ones that respected me was Bri and Xylo along with some of the other S rank wizards. On the island everyone is relatively nice. David can be a bit annoying, and Ritchie and Brandon can be a bit strict along with Mrs. Prenderghast being a bit odd with Polly but it's alright…"
Mario wasn't lying Divinus Magia was the safest place he had been in a long while. Ture he might have his differences for them, but they accepted him and that was good enough for him. Maybe he would stay awhile after his time was done, he wasn't sure but he was happy with his life right now and hoped that it would last for a good long time.
