Chapter 29: Mr. Incredible (The Incredibles)
While I may be living one heck of a life as it is, there's one mistake that I always wished I could fix: My mistake of initially taking the concept of working with others for granted, which inadvertently led to the creation of Syndrome.
Using the power of the Hourglass itself, I traveled back to the night everything seemed to all fall apart:
The night of his wedding, but also the day of my encounter with Bomb Voyage... the day that spurned young Buddy Pines. Knowing full well what Buddy would be capable of should his heart be filled with bitterness and resentment, I used the opportunity given to him in this new timeline to make sure Syndrome never comes into being.
And to do that, I did the unimaginable...
I accepted Buddy's plea to become my sidekick.
I admit he was a bit of a handful at first, but at least things seemed to be looking up for the kid. His genius intellect and ability to create cutting-edge gadgets with highly-futuristic technology really showed me that not all superheroes have to have superpowers. In fact, he proved to be rather impressed with his first outing against Bomb Voyage, actually showing some competence despite his lack of combat training, which also prevents the train accident.
Thankfully, I don't lose my family in the new timeline. I'm still a happily married man with my wife Helen, but the only difference is that Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack all now have a technologically-adept adopted elder brother who fights side-by-side with me. With the possibility of Syndrome becoming a reality now gone, all of the Supers his series of Omni-Droids had slaughtered now live on, fighting crime whenever the duty calls. Now, me and my family all live our best lives possible in the far-extended golden years of super-heroics, and while we still fight together as a family, we all remember fondly that it all started with yours truly and my biggest fan, Bud...
From now on, he's now my trusty sidekick and partner... IncrediBoy!
I really need to get back and watch The Incredibles. I mean, come on. Who wouldn't want to bang Mrs. Incredible? I know I would!
