"Mr. Brisco, I assume you've already been briefed on your mission in Berlin."
"I have, and I want to turn it down" Brisco said.
"Is that so?" Seeing his superior sit back in his chair, his fingers locked in between each other.
"With all due respect sir, I believe my efforts would be far more useful in a place like for say…Just throwing a random country out there…Cuba."
"Cuba, Speaking of Cuba actually, I had read your Intelligence Reports from Cuba, but I can't help they seem a bit…Silly." He replied. "Ummm, W-What do you mean?" Brisco seemed to have a bit more of shake in his feline body, clearly nervous and shook by the so called 'Intelligence report' he had filed, several in fact.
"Well for one, You believe that the Cuban Government is in possession of so called 'Extra Terrestrial Technology', Like UFO's and Laser Guns and all that stuff" He said, holding up the Document that Brisco knew he had wrote.
"W-Well you know, The Evidence is out there somewhere, But I can guarantee you that if you give me some more field time in Cuba, I can find something"
"Or like the other document you filed in, Saying the Cuban Military was in process of breeding a race of miniature dragon people to take over the rest of the Caribbean" He continued. "You know what they say, never can be too careful around the Commies"
"I…. guess that makes sense, but there was this other one you submitted…. About Fidel Castrol being a Cyborg from the Future on a mission sent to kill President- "He went on to specify additionally before Brisco leaped onto his desk and grabbed the document from his hands.
"You know what some Documents I wrote might have been a bit more on the ummm…. Imaginative side. HOWEVER, the point still stands, there is probably something going down in Cuba that we don't know about it. Think about it, they had Nukes back when Kennedy was in Office, who knows what those reds might be hiding this time?" He questioned, seeing his supervisor rub his chin in speculation to the Orange furred Feline.
"Whilst I don't believe the whole UFOs, Future Robots, and Dragon People things are all that accurate, you may be onto something that Cuba is probably hiding something. You have interest, I'll see to it you'll be transferred back to Cuba" He confirmed to Brisco.
Making the Cat jump up and down in Excitement like a little child. "HAHAH YES!" He shouted, gaining the attention of pretty much the whole floor outside the relatively small Office room. Seeing the Senior Special Agent ecstatic like some child on his birthday, clearing his throat to remind Brisco he wasn't acting all that appropriate.
Suddenly Brisco straightening his body to the Supervisor with a firm stillness, His face wiped down with all emoted left nothing but with a steady Marine stare. Raising his paw flat above his eyes to give a salute to turn around and walk straight out the door, having a small smile as he walked out, deep down he was still as excited just now as he was 10 seconds ago.
Later that day and into the night, Brisco walking into an small rundown apartment building within the Capital City of Havanna, A few hours after he was released back into Cuba on more 'intelligence recon'. Thinking he had dodged a bullet and rewarded himself with another night with the Black and White Feline he had met back at the stadium a few weeks ago.
Americans would boast on their quality of living and it was telling, Whether you believe it was Capitalism that worked for a Society of Communism, The sights of the times were telling for sure, not much was done Government wish about state run housing, Graffitiing ran across the walls along with Cracks and faded off Paint on the walls and on the ceiling.
Not Phasing Brisco all that well, Recalling Elizabeth's presumed poor financial state, not being able to buy food somedays and sneaking into places just to relax. Walking up the wooden stairs that felt grimy and loose with every step he took on them, He cringed at the thought of what wet substance he was likely stepping on tread after tread.
With moments arriving in front of her door, it too wasn't a pretty sight for eyes as well. Making Brisco a bit uncomfortable to even lay his paw on it, nevertheless reaching out and knocking with a friendly pattern. The CIA Feline standing patiently as he reflected upon himself and his appearance.
Breathing out into his paw before taking a quick sniff, coming to the short conclusion that his breath was decent, running his paw back through his head fur making sure it was smooth and silky enough to leave an outstanding impression. Hearing the small notches inside the handle of the door lock loose and see the Door itself slowly creak inward, revealing Elizabeth with a smile upon seeing Brisco.
"Buenos Noches Brisco, Comos Estas?" She asked.
"Ummm…Yes?"
She giggled in response, backing away from the door before gently pushing it in to let Brisco come inside. "Come on in, I know it's not pretty but it's the best I have" She confessed, stretching her paws out around the room to reveal its true state. Brisco could see the visible dirt and dust, but truth be told, it wasn't all that bad.
"I-I kind of like it actually, it has a woman's touch to it"
"Gracias" she said, walking up to the Orange Feline with a smile, wrapping her twin black and white paws around his neck, just a few inches away from his own pink nose from meeting hers. Planting a small kiss on Brisco's cheek before both starred directly into each other's eyes with a loving gaze for one another.
"I thought you were going back to America, was a bit worried I wasn't going to see you again" She said.
"My Business gave me a few extra days, Guess I'll be staying for a bit longer" He responded.
"How about we go for a walk around the city, it's nice out night" She invited the Orange cat, placing a paw on his chest fluff.
"I would like that very much" He stated as the black and white feline gently disconnected herself from Brisco and made her way over to the restroom. "Let me just use the bathroom quickly then we can head out" She exclaimed as she out of sight.
Brisco preparing himself to take a seat on the poorly managed by sturdy enough sofa until hearing a faint electrical ring in his ear that he knew all too well to ignore.
"Brisco, we have an issue" An Agent said speaking through his earpiece with an urgent tone in his voice, letting him know it was of the essence.
"Well uhh…I'm currently doing some spy work right now so I can't, Maybe relay it back to me in a few hours or-"
"We don't have time for that, this is an urgent mission. An American prisoner that the CIA has been trying to negotiate for has been sentenced to be shot tonight, He has too much intelligence to just be lost like this."
"A-Are you sure it's tonight, maybe it's tomorrow."
"Brisco do not delay your duties, you're the best agent we have for this and the only one available. Infiltrate the Base where the American is being held and bring him to the beach northside of Havanna to be extracted, Do NOT fail" he said disconnecting from the communication line.
Brisco groaned and growled at the recalling of his responsibility, him having to put off his night with Elizabeth all for this American who's gonna bite the dust tonight of he does nothing about it.
"Brisco, you okay, you look a bit shaken" She asked coming back from around the corner, Brisco turned around and mentally washed the frown and frustration from his own face, trying to hide it as best as he could. "I-I'm fine, Listen I need to go somewhere really quick, I'll back in an hour, tops"
"B-But that's not quick, Its already late and I have to get up early to teach"
"Surely you just stay up for just a little bit, I need to go and-"
"Its fine, Its just fine, I suppose we can do this some other time then" She replied, reassuring that there was no problem even though the problem was easily seen in her voice. Brisco pressed forward and placed a paw on her back to let her know it was okay, only for her to give a quick nudge of her back to shake over his touch.
"I said its Fine, Go" She spoke finally, Brisco stood there speechless as he looked ahead and saw the front door, He knew he had a job to knew and he was smart enough to get the message.
"Bye" he faintly muttered before walking out the front door and closing it behind. Out of sight and out of mind, Brisco didn't make it two steps out before throwing his back against the wall and letting him slide down to the ground. "I can't believe this" he said to himself, however this is what he chose.
Brisco briefly sighed for a moment as he reflected on how he could figure out everything at once. Might as well start from early on, forging his new plan as he raced out the building making his way to nearly Military Base to free his fellow American.
"I'm not saying shit, Commie fuck!" The American prisoner shouted out; his voice muffed through a dirty bag that was placed over his head. Certain parts of the bag-stained crimson red from beating and other means of 'extracting' information. Tied down to a chair in the middle of an open tent with a small dim peak of light shining through from a lacking bulb.
"Que Pasa American, I'm willing to break my knuckles in two to make you talk" The Cuban Guard said, shaking off his fist as he threw his closed hand across the detainee's head.
"You can make this stop, tell me who you were meeting in Cuba!" He ordered for answer as he bent his knees down to look American on his level. The guard raising his hand above the bag and ripping it off, letting the American prisoner finally see who he was dealing with.
His face bled profusely with swollen spots and bloody bruises as well as a few teeth loose or even knocked out to top it off. "I was meeting with your mother!" He said with a smile, his teeth crooked, and blood stained as the soldier spat at the prisoner, stepping back and motioning behind himself to ruffle through his back pouches, his hand reentering in front of him this time holding a handgun.
"I'm not going to ask again, Answer right or I paint the inside of this tent red" He proclaimed, resting the end of the gun against his forehead.
"Fine, I'll tell you, but be warned once you know, you can't unknow."
"Tell me."
"Brisco, An American Spy from the CIA" he said calmly, not seeming too scared even though the guard's gun still laid directly against his head.
"Good, it took a gun to your head to make you come to your senses. So, tell me, where is this 'Brisco' right now?" he said, lowering the gun away from his temple, asking the question in a passively aggressive way.
The American looked up back at the soldier as he smiled, about to rat out his fellow colleague in espionage. "Right behind you" he said, forcing the soldier to quickly turn around to be greeted first thing by an Orange furred cat, looking at him with a silenced handgun already aimed.
"Hola" He commented before shooting the soldier in the head with a single shot, an instantaneous death as the Cuban soldier fell back onto the floor of the tent, blood already starting to seep out from his head. "Took you long enough, I thought I was done for a few moments ago" he said, physically motioning for the Saviour Agent to assist him with his restraints to the chair.
"Americans don't leave Americans to die, we have to move, follow me" Brisco said as he retracted one of his claws to slice through the thin rope with ease that held down the former American prisoner.
Now free, rubbing his soar wrists that had be tightly strangled for so long. Both not wasting any time and running out the tent, seeing a spring of security along the way. Many Guard towers and even more soldiers armed and on patrol.
"How did you even get in?" He asked.
"When in doubt, sometimes you just got to make your own entrance" He replied, running around and ducking behind cover simultaneously before making his way to a broken chain link fence, supposedly broken by Brisco himself.
Brisco climbing through with ease as expected with his Feline body, the other however was another story. Squirming through with rough effort, making fence jingle and jangle, move back and forth as he tried to make his way through. "Hurry up" Brisco urged, trying to keep his voice down at the same time. "I'm trying" He replied, maneuvering his arms and side whoever way he could try and find a perfect opening.
"Now I know why they call Americans 'fat'" Brisco stated, rushing over to him and pulling his arms trying to give more force. Suddenly out of nowhere, seeing a flash of light blink from the corner of his eye. "I knew I heard some noise, Who's there?!" A Guard shouted out from around the corner following along the fence to try and find the source.
Now at a point of desperation, Letting go of the Prisoner's arms to instead the wire of the fence more. Using any means, Scratching and Biting as much as he could. "I think I see something over there!" One soldier shouted, Brisco could see the shaking of his flashlight as he ran full sprint to his position. The Orange Cat unexpectedly feeling the holster on the side of body being tugged, see the American Prisoner take his gun and aim it at the oncoming soldiers.
Firing several shots before they feel to the ground, however not making much of a different to their stealth as the alarm of the whole base started to wail and shout. "Any progress?!" The American asked, frantically asking. "Almost!" He shouted, seeing several soldiers rushing toward in response to their fallen comrade.
Giving none the chance of taking both their lives, opening fire with the same handgun, still trapped in between the fence as it was all on Brisco to finish. "I got it!" Brisco said, stepping back and letting the American squirm through with better results. Both ran off into the tree line and escaping the soldiers. Hearing the distant noise of gunshots behind them from their miraculous escape and successful rescue.
Both Americans now in the heart of the enemy, Creeping down an Alleyway in the Capital City of Cuba. Brisco with his back against the wall following alongside a building, on watch for patrolling soldiers storming into the city looking for the two. "Hey, Arent we supposed to go to the coastline?" He asked, referring to his desire to just leave Cuba as soon as possible. Brisco knew he was supposed to take him to the coastline to get him on a boat for his real escape.
However, Brisco was wishing to squeeze another thing into his plan, kill two birds with one stone as he looked back at the Escapee. "Yeah, I just need to do one more thing" he said, motioning his paws for him to stay put in the alleyway.
After which, Looking around the corner to see two soldiers just inches away, in a flash reverting his head back around the corner into the darkness, to his side seeing the two soldiers walk right on past Brisco and the American Prisoner un-noticed. Taking his chance and running alongside the building and up a fire-escape.
Running with grace and speed as he made his way upside the buildings, keeping track of which window was hers. Finally arriving at the right window, quickly looking down the fire escape to see the American spy still in his place. Glancing back at the window to give a few noticeable taps. Seeing Elizabeth peak out once seeing Brisco on the other side.
There was no sound, but he could tell there was a mixed reaction from the black and white feline that saw him. Fidgeting with the lock for a while before it opened. "Brisco, What are you doing on the-"
"Shh Shhhhh, Keep your voice down. Remember those times you told me you always wanted to go to the United States instead of here?" Brisco asked, speeding through his words and seeing her look even more confused than before. "Uh huh?" She nodded slowly.
"Well now you can, I can take you there, right now"
"W-Wait, Seriously, you're not kidding?"
"No, I'm being serious, Cmon" He requested, extending his paw out to her briefly, always looking right over his shoulder, extremely paranoid. "Brisco are you okay?"
"Yeah Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just-really in a big hurry right now" He assured, flicking his paw relentlessly for her to just take the option and leave Cuba for good. Elizabeth looking back at her house before faithfully taking him up. "Alright, Lets go" She said taking his paw and stepping out onto the fire escape. Both ran down the stairs meeting back up the American, now surprised to see another party involved.
"Ummm…Brisco, Who's this?" He asked, motioning toward Elizabeth. Her getting involved breaking every single ethical and professional rule within the CIA. "She uhhh…Important person for the…People back in America"
"Your Business?" She asked to Brisco.
"Y-Yeah" He replied.
"What Business?" The other asked, getting a furious look from Brisco to keep his mouth shut and to not say anything else more. Getting the message as he stepped back with his hands out, letting know he'll be quiet about the matter. Suddenly, Brisco getting a spark of static in his early, excusing himself from the two as he pressed his paw against it to receive the communication.
"Brisco, The Boat Driver on the Coastline is there and waiting, do you have the Prisoner?" The Agent on the other line asked. "Yeah, I got him, I'll extract him soon"
"And you two are undetected, correct?"
Brisco remained silent, looking back at Elizabeth knowing it wasn't true. "Y-Yeah, No one else knows, just us" He replied.
"Excellent Work Brisco, you're a real hero to every American" He proclaimed, ending the Communication line and leaving Brisco unknowingly to debate within his own mind with what he was actually doing.
"Cmon Cmon, where are they?" The Boat Driver said, consistently watching over his watch and he looked around, nervous and anxious about when Brisco and the American Prisoner was coming. Ready to leave the island at a moment's notice with his hand placed firmly on the motor. His impatience was answered as he saw rustling in the bushes in front of him, Out came the Orange Cat first along with the American prisoner.
Brisco flashing a small light to the boat driver in a specific pattern to let him know it was him. "Great, Lets get the hell out of this place" He stated, seeing Brisco give a slight wave as the boat driver's eyes shifted from him to the Rescued American, and then to the Black and White Feline that timidly followed behind.
"Woah Woah, Brisco explain, Whose she?"
"Listen, I need you to do a favour here, Drop the American and her off in Florida" Brisco pleaded, knowing sooner or later he'd have to explain himself eventually. "Absolutely not, I can't bring Cuban Civilians into the United States, The CIA wouldn't allow it" He said.
"Please, she doesn't want to live in Cuba anymore, She wants to live America. Live a better life and be free"
"Wait, I thought you said she was important to the CIA" The American said, now agitated finding out he was quite literally lied to. Now faced with the consequences of his actions, Brisco backed up accidentally bumping into Elizabeth, turning around to see she wasn't happy as well, not angry either.
"Brisco, what's going on?" She asked
"I-I can explain it all, Trust me" He replied.
"I'm sure you can, but we're not the ones that should be explained to, that's for the CIA" The Boat Driver said, threatening Brisco's career and integrity as well. Brisco chocked at the idea of him having to stand before his superior and explain how he majorly broke conduct.
"Until then, she can't be here" The American Prisoner said grabbing Elizabeth by the paw and violently tugging her away from Brisco's side, Brisco letting his reflexes take control, grabbing Elizabeth's other paw in response. "H-Hey, Let go of me!" Elizabeth screamed, trying to shove herself back to Brisco's side but he was ultimately too strong to tip the scale to her favour.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Brisco shouted.
"We can bring her with us, you're going to sacrifice the CIA for her?!" He retorted in frustration, tightening his grip on her and Brisco struggled to keep his grasp. "I don't care, let her go!" Violently tugging with his might.
Brisco slowly losing grip on her paw, unfortunately her paw slipping from his as they both get separated. Tears already in her eyes as Brisco could see, it felt like there was no other choice and Brisco had to do something. It just wasn't right to leave here, and he knew it.
The American Prisoner turning his back to Brisco as he maintained his grip on Elizabeth, dragging her into the tree line until suddenly, a silent ping ran out. The sound of dropping a coin on a house floor. The American stopping in his tracks as he felt a large sting in his chest, putting his hand over his chest and right in front of his face to reveal blood. Falling directly on his stomach, laying lifeless on the floor. Elizabeth taking his opportunity and clawing away from him.
Looking back at Brisco, seeing him stand there. Aiming outward with his silenced pistol with a pillar of faint smoke coming from out the barrel. The Orange feline looking shocked even though he knew what he had just done. "Brisco, what was that?!" The Boat Driver said, standing there flabbergasted at to what had just happened right before him.
"He-He was taking her, I had no other choice!" Brisco replied in his defense and in the defense of her. "No, you just committed a Murder Brisco, on your fellow American, And I wont stand for that either!" He said reaching down into the boat to supposed grab something, unfortunately not being quick enough as Brisco made quick work of him and shot him multiple times, letting his body fall lifeless onto the bed of the boat.
"B-Brisco" Elizabeth whispered, her brain unable to comprehend everything Brisco himself had just done. Killing two right in front of her as the image she held of him just a few hours ago shattered into a million pieces. She felt like he was a different person now.
"Elizabeth, Listen. I-I've lied to you this entire time. Day one since we met" Brisco approached her, calmly and sane as he knelt to put his gun on the sand. "Everything I've been telling you is a lie, and everything they told you is true. But when I said I can take you to America, I wasn't lying." He said.
"Im willing to give up my entire life to spend my new life with you, I really mean it, I really do. So please, give me this one chance to make you truly happy." Reaching out to gently grab her paws and holding onto them firmly. Looking up at him to see his head silhouette covering the moon light, letting a like holy glaze beam him.
It felt like her mouth was closed shut, she didn't know what to say. However, in her heart there was more mushing and galloping than ever before. This was her dream, to leave this country and start a new, and she had the perfect opportunity with the perfect person to start along side with.
Elizabeth grasping Brisco's paws gently as well, Pulling him in for a grand kiss. Brisco not even resting in response as they both stood on the coastline showing affection for one another for a few brief moments. The air was still and the waves of the Caribbean Sea beat against land. "I love you" She faintly muttered into his ear.
"I love you too" He replied, separating away from her and motioning to follow him to the boat. Brisco hopping in with a clean jump as Elizabeth did the same. The Orange Feline taking the body of the Boat Driver and dragging him off the boat to land on the sand. "Ready?" He asked.
Seeing her nod her head in response, Pushing the small boat out from the shore, letting it rock up and down from waves. Turning on the Motor watching it growl and gurgle, turning the tiny vessel around heading out North. Elizabeth, feeling the wind and speed brushed against her fur and the sweet smell of freedom. Standing on the very edge of the boat with a smile, Brisco looking at her smile and feeling a sense of goodness, but suddenly feeling another way of guilty hit him across his body.
Sooner or later the CIA was going to find out about everything that had just happened, it wasn't a question about 'If'. It was a question about 'when' and Brisco couldn't escape it, it would have to tell it himself and face down the shame.
