When Lucifer's eyes started to open again. The images he saw transitioned from blurry to a sun beaming window with cheap blinds and sheer curtains. Below which was a hospital nightstand that had a bunch of flowers and get-well cards sitting on top. As his vision started to focus more and more, he noticed the figure of a woman in blue jeans place a vase full of tulips on the nightstand. He didn't recognize her at first but when she turned to face him and spoke, he recognized the voice. "Hey, look who's finally awake." Said the detective standing over him. "Hello detective, where are we?"
"You're in a hospital, you were stabbed in the chest."

"Oh…That explains the smell of human misery in the air."

"I was almost worried they wouldn't be able to fix you, considering. Lucky your insides are pretty much the same as everyone else."
"Oh…yes, yes lucky me and my father's lack of imagination." With that last sentence Chloe grabbed the stool from the side of the nightstand and sat down next to Lucifer. "Thank you, for Trixie" she said softly. "You're very welcome," awkwardly said Lucifer, not sure of what to say as his actions completely surprised even him. That's when he remembered the two demons in the warehouse. "What happened to our two…friends?"
"I can't say that fire was gnarly. Firefighters didn't find any…demon-like…bodies, just the human ones. Do demons even have…bodies? I mean…can a demon even…die?"

"They do leave corpses after death, yes. Also yes, they can die, I'll make damn sure of it." Chloe was a little taken aback by that last sentence. Considering who she was talking to, but deep down she was a little grateful to have someone like him looking out for her family. "That's…nice," she joked. That's when the door opened to reveal Dan and Trixie who ran through the door and gave Lucifer a big hug. Of which caused Lucifer to groan in pain. "Whoa! Whoa! Trixie, how about let Mr. Morningstar rest for a hot minute, kay baby?" Chloe told Trixie as she gently pulled her off Lucifer. "Thank you for saving me, Mr. Morningstar," said Trixie. "Your very welcome…Urchin?" He awkwardly guessed her name. "My name is Beatrix, but everyone calls me Trixie,"
"That's a hooker's name," he stated, and Chloe lightly smacked him in his arm causing him to wince in pain. "What's a hooker?"
"Daddy will tell you." Answered Chloe and Dan rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Why don't you show him what you made in class." She said, Trixie took off her rainbow backpack and pulled out a child's drawing of what he guessed was him in a red cape. "Is that supposed to be me?"
"That's you because you're a superhero," she stated innocently. Though in his mind the statement made him uncomfortable because again he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Though it also made Dan uncomfortable that the man he arrested for manslaughter and public nudity. Was now getting called a superhero by his own seven-year-old daughter. "Hey Chloe, when you have a minute can we talk?"

"Chloe? Is that your first name? It's good to finally, properly meet you Detective Chloe," interrupted Lucifer who let his sentence trail off to let Chloe finish his sentence. "Decker…Detective Chloe Jane Decker." Finished Chloe. "Uh hate to interrupt this very, very weird moment. But thank you for what you did for Trixie. If I could I'd shake your hand, I would." Said Dan, which confused Lucifer until he raised his arm, and he noticed a pair of handcuffs attached to him and the bed.

"Fascinating way to show your gratitude."
"You escaped police custody, set a warehouse on fire, then there's the whole public nudity and possible manslaughter charges." Lucifer rolled his eyes at that last sentence. Though his mood was quickly lifted when Chloe handed him a business card he assumed was hers. "Your phone number detective, we haven't even set a date yet."
"It's the number to a very good defense lawyer. You should give her a call when you get a chance."
"Very, well detective,"
"Uh Dan, I know you have to rearrest him, but can you and Trixie give us a minute alone please?"
"Sure thing, Trixie why don't we go downstairs and get a cake pop from the Starbucks?" Trixie happily followed her dad out while Chloe and Lucifer continued their conversation. "Nice little touch there with the card detective."
"You thought I was acting?"

"You do fully realize what I am and who I am do you? Lucifer Morningstar, the devil, old scratch, diablo, prince of darkness etc. You really think I can't easily escape from your…I'll be nice and just call him weak ex-husband."

"I'm fully aware but those things are still out there. It would be rather inconvenient for me and for you to have any more distractions."

"For me and for you, you said. Does this mean you want to team up. You, me a supernatural, buddy cop mash up."

"I'm thinking about getting justice for Trixie, myself and the twenty victims they said they killed. If that means teaming up with you to get it, fine. Plus, at least this way I can keep a close eye on you. Make sure you don't cause any more trouble."

"I'll look forward to working with you detective. I'll look forward to your visit! My club and my penthouse are always open!"
"You're going to have to hire a few thousand maids before I set foot in that penthouse again, same for your club."
"I can arrange that, promise, devil always keeps his word." Shouted Lucifer as Chloe was about to meet Dan downstairs. Though meanwhile in the basement of a run-down church. The demons were licking their wounds and using magic to heal their wounds from the hell fire burnt warehouse. "This will complicate things, won't they?" Asked the patchwork demon, "don't be ridiculous, I stabbed Lucifer in the heart. Even by some dares say, miracle he survived. He won't be bothering us for a while."
"Yes, but as a result we had to take three days off to recover. We need seven hundred hearts before the next blood moon. We lost twenty in that fire."

"We still have a second location with five hundred saved. Plus, the boss is sending in someone who can give us a helping hand. He didn't say who, but he reassured that he's motivated and will get the job done. Meanwhile in another dimension on the misty planes of the home of the Lilliam. There was a pawn shop that was owned by one of Lucifer's old consorts, Mazikeen. Her dark skin, slim body, long black hair and half rotted face laid half lifeless on the ground with 3 bloody, dead bodies, one of whom was being carved up with a large, supernatural looking knife and he used it to carve the woman's heart out. And the man doing the cutting was chuckling with glee. "Heart that once belonged to the goddess's most beloved son or at least a piece of it, check. And with that back to Los Angeles, rejoin the LAPD at slash away another couple of poor saps." Mazikeen continued to play dead, and she noticed this killer had a hospital bracelet on his that read 'Malcom Grahm' as the killer walked out the door, heart in tow. "Los Angeles?" Gurgled Maze on her own blood, before she passes out.
