Chapter 33
Kagome needed to swim. It was the one thing she had denied herself since her arrival at Fairy Tail. Prioritizing her family's comfort and inducting herself within the guild first. With everything that happened on her recent mission and her developing feelings for her fellow slayer, she needed time to herself. Now, it was time for her to take a little time so she could reconnect with her element, with her memories of her dragon father as well. It was something she shouldn't have put off for as long as she had.
So when she saw her brother and his blonde stellar mage, not that either would admit their feelings for the other, she was quick to ask him to watch her kids. Kagome had been touched that he agreed to the task happily with the promise that they themselves would talk soon. The female Fullbuster quickly said yes and with a quick kiss on the cheek to her brother and kids and a hug for the blonde she was running out the door and into the woods.
Her senses were buzzing happily as she neared the river that was deep within the forest behind her guild. The comforting clean scent that she had grown up with eased every nerve in her body as she threw herself within its depth. Peace, she finally felt at peace with herself. To a dragon slayer being surrounded by your element was akin to a mother's loving embrace. So she sunk to the bottom and let her body rest there as she watched the skies above the surface.
Kagome sighed as she watched the phases of the sky as time passed by. The female dragon allowed herself to be carried away by the gentle flow of the river as she relished in its soothing properties. It had been far too long since she allowed herself to reconnect with the element that made her the daughter of her precious dragon father.
As she floated she allowed even her thoughts to drift. It had been some time since her family's arrival at Fairy Tail and while she missed the gentle village of her youth she felt Fairy Tail to be her home. Her young ones were thriving together and under the gentle tutelage of the guild. She couldn't be happier but something, maybe her instincts, was shouting warnings at her.
Kagome sighed as she manipulated the currents to carry her back towards the guild, her day of relaxing over now. Tomorrow, she would work on a training regimen with her family. With her skin tingling with warning bells, she knew she had to prepare her family.
Something was coming and they would be ready.
