I don't own RWBY. I own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
David put his hands in the pockets of his pants as he was in the elevator leading to Ozpin's office. After showering himself from the fight food in the cafeteria, he was received a call from Ozpin who told him to come to his office. What was the reason for it? David had no idea. Ozpin didn't specify it to him. He know it didn't have anything to do with the food fight and the mess he made in the cafeteria with team RWBY, team JNPR, Sun and Neptune, though. If Ozpin summoning to his office had anything to do with it, then he doubted he'd the only one summoned there.
When the elevator doors opened as soon as the elevator reached Ozpin's office, the brown haired young man walked into the office and was greeted by the sight of Ozpin sitting on his seat and Glynda standing near his desk. They weren't the only ones in Ozpin's office, though. A white clothed man with a black haired hair he did not know the name of was with them. He pushed himself into walk towards them as the white clothed man eyed him up and down, allowing himself to get a better look at him. David didn't know why, but he thought he'd seen him somewhere before.
"Hello." David made sure to greet everyone who was in Ozpin's office right now as he stopped directly in front of Ozpin's desk, "I hope I didn't made you wait. I came here as soon as I got called into Headmaster's office."
"It's good to see you Mr. Miller." Ozpin greeted him in return, "You don't need to worry about coming late. We didn't waint for long."
"Okay." David nodded, putting his hands out of his pockets after seeing they look Glynda had directed his way and looked between all three of them questioningly, "Can I ask why I was called here? Does it have something to do with what happened in the cafeteria?"
Ozpin shook his head, "Don't worry. You aren't in trouble. The reason we called you here has nothing to do with the little culinary confrontation you had with our schoolmates."
"If it had something to do with the mess that you made in the cafeteria alongside team RWBY and team JNPR, you won't be the only person summoned to the office." Glynda added.
"You were summoned here, because I would like to introduce you to someone." Ozpin explained and gestured to the white clothed man, "David. This is General James Ironwood. A trusted friend of mine."
David nodded his head to himself, having finally figured out where he knew this man now named Ironwood from. He heard about him from Weiss when he asked his friends if they could tell him about the Kingdoms outside Vale. He was the General of the Atlesian Military and the headmaster of the Atlas Academy. Her explanation of why he was to David was followed a long explanation who was her big sister Winter which eventually turned into a long love letter about how great her sister was.
He shifted his attention to Ironwood a second later, "It's nice to meet you."
"Are you the man from another world?" Ironwood asked out of the sudden, taking David by suprise.
David's eyes slightly widened at his question, "W-What?"
"Don't worry, Mr. Miller." Ozpin said as David shifted his gaze from Ironwood to him, "You don't need to hide your origin from him. As I already said, James is a trusted friend of mine and has already been informed about your origin by me. You can trust him with his information about yourself."
David nodded in understanding as he shifted his gaze back to Ironwood and nodded at him, giving him the confirmation he was waiting for, "To answer your question. Yes. I'm the person from another world you've been told about by Headmaster Ozpin."
Ironwood nodded at him, "I see."
"So you are General Ironwood?" David wanted to be sure.
Ironwood nodded in confirmation, "I see you've heard of me."
"Yes. Weiss Schnee is my roommate. She told me about you when I asked her if she could tell me more about Atlas." David nodded in confirmation and shifted his gaze from him to Ozpin and looked at him questioningly, "I'm sorry if this is a problem but how many people know about me?"
"Not many. Some of my most students friends know about you." Ozpin replied, "Those who are aware of your origin include the Headmasters of Shade and Haven Academy and Ruby and Yang's uncle Qrow."
David gave him a nod of understanding, making a mental out of this for the future as he looked at him with a grateful look on his face, "I see. Thank you for telling me. This way I will know I will be aware of the possibility of any of them bringing this up when I'll get a chance to meet them in the future."
"It was no problem. I was planning to tell you this myself during this meeting." Ozpin nodded back at him, "You can say you beat me to it with your question."
David once again nodded in understanding as he looked between Ozpin, Glynda and Ironwood, "Is that everything or is there something else we need to talk about?"
"That's all." Ozpin responded, "I called you here because he wanted to introduce you to James and because James was interested in seeing you."
"Okay." David replied as he started to turn away from Ozpin, Glynda and Ironwood, "I'll get going. I was on the way to the library with my friends before I was called here. They should be waiting for me there right now."
"Actually there is something I would like to tell you before you'll leave." Ironwood said, causing David to stop in his tracks.
David turned to look at him with a questioning look on his face, "What is it?"
"Just to let you know. I'm keeping an eye on you." Ironwood told him, "You better not try anything funny otherwise you will suffer the consequences."
"James. There's no need for this." Ozpin tried to tell his friend, "Mr. Miller has not shown himself to have any ill intentions towards anyone in our academy."
"It's okay, Headmaster. I understand." David notified Ozpin that he didn't mind it.
Ironwood looked at him with an interested look on his face, "You do?"
"Yes." David nodded in confirmation as looked back at him, "I understand why you're being cautious of me. I'm sure many people would feel the same if they found themselves in our place. I'm sure many other people in my world would react the same if Remnant suddenly appeared on the map as well."
Ironwood nodded at him in a pleased manner, gladdened to see him understand why he was cautious of him, "I see. Thank you for being understanding."
David nodded back at him and looked at Ozpin, "I will get going on. I'll see you all later."
"Likewise, Mr. Miller." Ozpin nodded at him as David turned away from him and the rest and walked towards the elevator. He walked into the elevator and pressed the button on the bottom, telling the elevator to take him to the lowest floor. As soon as the elevator doors was closed, he turned to look at Ironwood, "I think it went well."
"It was a decent first impression. I couldn't see any ill intentions from him." Ironwood nodded in agreement, "I will keep my eye on him until I'll be certain he doesn't possess any threat to Remnant, though." Ozpin shook his head at him, knowing be was just being as cautious as ever as Ironwood looked at him questioningly, "Do you think it was a good idea to put him in Beacon, though?"
Ozpin looked at him questioningly, "What do you mean, James?"
"From what I've been told by Glynda when I asked him how well is he doing during her class, he is still behind his classmates in the terms of fighting skills." Ironwood started to voice his concerns to Ozpin, "I know he had no experience something like this before becoming the student at Beacon, but don't you think enrolling someone with no fighting skills and someone one year older than other first years would be too suspicious? I understand why you want him to join us after your explanation, but you still don't think putting him in the Beacon was too hasty a move? If you would have informed me about him before you enrolled him in Beacon, I'm certain we would have worked something out. I could have send Specialist Schnee to Vale and have her train him."
"I appreciate your concern, James but I'm certain I've made the right choice by making him a student at Beacon." Ozpin replied, "Mr. Miller is working hard to make sure he'll catch up with his classmates as soon as possible and had shown improvement since he was brought into the academy by team RWBY and team JNPR. He had made friends with team RWBY and team JNPR as well."
"I see." Ironwood nodded in understanding, "I'll have to trust you judgement on this."
"Thank you, James." Ozpin nodded at him with a grateful look on his face, "Good thing team RWBY and team JNPR found him in the Emerald Forest as this way we found him first instead of her and I'm certain she would try to use him to achieve her goals after she'd learn about his origin. At least this way he won't end up like his predecessor..."
David walked through the halls of Beacon Academy, slowly making his way towards the library after his meeting with Ozpin, Glynda and Ironwood in Ozpin's office. As he proceeded to make his way towards the library, he managed to notice many students from Vacuo, Atlas and Mistral academia who must have arrived here for the upcoming Vytal Festival. It looked like Beacon would be a lot more crowded from now on. At least until the Vytal Festival takes place.
He nodded to himself, knowing he was nearing the library as he recognized this part of Beacon from the trips he had taken there in the past to either study or to kill the boredom by reading something. He turned the corner and was forced to stop dead in his tracks as he accidentally bumped into someone. He quickly collected himself and saw two students he did not know the names of in front of him.
The first student and the student he had bumped into was a young man with dark gray hair and his friend was a dark skinned young woman with short green hair. Judging from the uniforms they had on themselves, he could easily tell they weren't from Beacon. The fact he never saw them before in the classes or in the hallways during break between the classes or in the cafeteria only confirmed this.
The gray haired young man composed himself and looked at David with narrowed eyes, "Ouch. Could you watch where you were going next time?"
"It's not like you were paying attention to your surroundings either." His friend pointed out, making him shift his attention from David to her for a second.
"How about we agreed both parties are at fault in this situation? I don't know about you, but it seems like a good compromise to me." David suggested and gestured to the uniforms the two students in front of him had on themselves, "You're not from Beacon."
The gray haired young man shifted his attention back to David and crossed his arms, "Really? How could you tell?"
"Your uniforms are different from mine." David explained, gesturing to the uniforms the students he had just bumped into had on themselves.
The gray haired young man crossed rolled his eyes, his voice filled with sarcasm when he said, "What a great observation skills you have here."
David crossed his arms, looking at him with a proud smile on his face as replied to him with the same amount of sarcasm in his voice, "Yeah. I know. Sometimes I'm amazed by them myself."
The dark skinned girl elbowed her friend in the ribs before he could think of a retort to David's words, "Shut up."
"What?" The gray haired young man shifted his gaze to his friend, "Can't you see I'm having a friendly conversation with him?"
The dark skinned girl rolled her eyes at him, "Define friendly to me as I'm certain your meaning of this word is messed up."
"Excuse my teammates for their behaviour." David looked over to the source of the voice and saw a young woman with ashen-black hair getting herself between them, "They tend to argue from time to time. I can assure you, though. They can along for most of the time."
"It's okay." David waved it off, "My friends recently got into a large argument themselves. Thankfully, everything ended up working out in the end."
"I see. I'm glad to hear it." The black haired young man nodded at him and introduced herself to him, "My name is Cinder Fall. My teammates over here are Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black. We are team CRME from Haven."
"It's nice to meet you all." David nodded at them, making a mental note out of their names for the future and wasted no time when it came to introducing himself, "My name is David Miller."
Cinder nodded her head at his introduction, looking at him with a polite friendly expression on her face, "The feeling is mutual."
Emerald looked over her shoulder and looked at something or rather someone standing behind her questioningly, "What are you doing?"
"Right. We haven't introduced us to our fourth teammate. This is Nyx Peridot." Cinder introduced the last member of her team to David.
It was when a short girl with black hair and emerald green eyes made herself present to David's view. She was standing behind Mercury and Emerald, trying to keep herself hidden from his view. She peeked her head out from behind Emerald, making herself known to David, before hiding her teammates again. Mercury and Emerald exchanged glances with each other almost as if they were asking themselves why she was acting the way she did right now.
"You'll have to excuse her. She's shy towards strangers. It took her a long time to open up to us." Cinder explained to David why Nyx was behaving the way she did as Nyx continued to hide behind Mercury and Emerald, keeping herself out of David's view.
David nodded at Cinder, showing her his understanding of her explanation. He shifted his gaze between her and her teammates with a curious look on his face a second later, "I assume you came here for the Vytal Festival?"
"Yes." Cinder nodded in confirmation, "We are still waiting for a dorm to be assigned to us, though."
"I see." David nodded in understanding, "Alright. I won't bother you for any longer I'll see all of you around."
"Likewise." Cinder nodded at him as she pushed herself into walk and started to walk forward herself. She followed by Mercury, Emerald and Nyx.
David watched them walk off in their own direction for a few seconds and pushed himself into run towards the library, going back to what he was doing before coming across team CRME on his way there. He didn't have to walk for long as he reached his destination a few moments later. He made his way through the library, managing to come across his friends after a moment.
He saw Ruby, Yang, Weiss and Blake gathered around one table, playing what appeared to be a board game. David couldn't tell what kind of game it was from where he was right now, though. He would have to make his way closer to it to make sure. Jaune, Ren, Nora and Pyrrha were gathered around a table next to them. Ren, Jaune and Pyrrha were reading something as Nora was doing the kind of activity David expected her to do in a place like library. Sleeping.
He made his way to his roommates and stopped between Ruby and Blake, seeing they were playing Remnant's version of the game of risk, "Hey, guys."
Ruby looked up at him and smiled, "Hi, David."
"There you are." Yang said as she looked at him, "I see you survived getting called into the office."
Weiss looked at him questioningly, "Why did Headmaster Ozpin call you into his office? Was this about the mess we made in the cafeteria?"
"No." David shook his head, "He wanted to introduce me to one of his colleagues. I'm certain you already know who it is, Ice Queen. It was General Ironwood."
Weiss nodded in understanding, letting out a hum, "Not suprising to be honest. We did saw Atlas students on our way here."
Yang looked at him in curiosity, "How did it go?"
"Pretty well." David responded, "Maybe except for the part where he told me I should watch what I'm doing until he's convinced I'm not a threat."
"You a threat?" Yang asked, "Ozpin did tell him you don't have any ill intentions towards anyone, right?"
David shrugged, "He told him, but Ironwood wants to make sure for himself."
"You don't seem to mind it so much." Blake observed.
"It doesn't bother me too much." David once again shrugged his shoulders, "I don't think I will have to do much to do much to prove to him that I am is not secretly planning annihilation of all the life of Remnant as I'm not planning to go full Postal Dude mode anytime soon."
Weiss raised her brow at him, "Postal Dude?"
"A character from an interesting video games series from my world. Let's just say those games can get quite chaotic at times." David explained as Weiss nodded in understanding. He gestured to the board game his roommates were playing right after, "I see you're playing a game of risk?"
Yang nodded in confirmation, "Yup and I'm planning to kick some butts in this game."
Ruby pointed at her sister dramatically, feeling competitiveness going through her veins, "We'll see about that!"
"I see." David nodded, letting out a sigh, "A shame I got called into Ozpin's office. I would love to play it."
Blake looked up at him, looking as if he was someone who just came to her rescue, "Actually you can switch with me if you want to. I'm not really interested in it."
Yang shook her head, "No way, Blakey. You're already started this game and you'll be in it to the end."
"Well. At least you tried Blake." David said as Blake sighed, "I'll leave you with your game."
He stepped away from team RWBY right after, wanting to leave them alone with their game and not interrupt them with it and made his way to the table with team JNPR, seeing how Pyrrha just took a comic book away from Jaune and handed him a textbook. Jaune took a look into the textbook and let out
He took his seat between Jaune and Pyrrha, "Hey, guys."
"Hello." Pyrrha smiled at him,
Jaune nodded at him, "Hey."
"Pyrrha." David called out for Pyrrha as he pointed at the comic book she was holding right now, "Can I borrow this comic book for a moment? I'll return it to you once we'll be leaving the library."
"Do you really should be reading this comic book instead of a textbook right now, David?" Pyrrha asked, pulling out a textbook with her other hand, "Weiss already informed us about how you treated school and your studies back in your old world."
"Of course she would." David shook his head, letting out a defeated sigh as Pyrrha opened the textbook on the page with the material she wanted him to read about and handed it to him instead of the comic book he was interested in. He took the textbook and looked down at the page which Pyrrha had opened for him. It was when a tiny spark of hope grew within him as he was already familiar with what he saw on the page, "Actually I already went through this material."
Pyrrha looked at him questioningly, "How so?"
David looked at her as if it was the most obvious question he had heard in all of his life, "Weiss Schnee is my roommate."
This answer seemed to be enough for Pyrrha. She nodded her head at him in understanding and gave him his comic book she had just taken away from Jaune, "I see. Enjoy reading this comic book, then."
Jaune let out a long defeated sigh, "Oh, come on."
David gave him a comforting pat on his as he opened the comic book on the first page and started to read it. If he was honest with himself, the plot of it wasn't anything extraordinary as it was pretty cliche for even for a comic book about a superhero saving the day. He eventually found himself lost in it and stopped paying attention to what was going on around him for a few minutes, even though he didn't found it as interesting as he did with some of his favourite mangas in his world such as Attack on Titan or Demon Slayer or My Hero Academia.
"...I hate this game of emotions we play!" Weiss' tearful scream rang through his ears a few minutes later, making him lost his focus on his comic book. Wondering what was happening, he looked up from the comic and saw her sitting down on her seat with anime tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Stay strong, Weiss!" Ruby tearfully declared as she hopped into Weiss' lap, "We'll make it through this together!"
"Shut up!" Weiss replied as she hugged her, "Don't touch me!"
Yang put her arms up behind her head as she looked at Blake, "Alright Blake, you're up!"
Blake looked around the board in front of her with a confused look on her face, "Oh, um, sorry, what am I doing?"
"You're playing as Vale, trying to conquer the Kingdoms of Remnant!" Yang explained the rules of the game to her.
Blake nodded at her with an uncertain look on her face, "Right."
Jaune got up from his seat and walked over to them, "Hey! Can I play?"
Ruby looked up at him with an apologetic look on her face, shaking her head, "Sorry Jaune, we've already got 4 people."
"Besides, this game requires a certain level of tactical cunning that I seriously doubt that you possess." Weiss added.
"Uhh, you attacked your own naval fleet 2 turns ago." Yang pointed out, making Weiss look at her with an annoyed look on her face.
"Bring it on, Ice Queen!" Jaune told Weiss with a determined look on his face, "I'll have you know that I have been told that I am a natural born leader!"
Weiss raised her brow at him, "By who? Your mother?"
"A-and Pyrrha!" Jaune stuttered out nervously.
Pyrrha waved, "Hello again!"
Jaune clasped his hands together in a pleading manner, "Come on, let me play your hand for a turn!"
Weiss shook her head, "I'm not trusting you with the good citizens of Vacuo!"
"Why not? You've trusted me with way more important stuff before." Jaune replied, "I mean, you told us all that Blake is secretly a Fa..."
Pyrrha quickly jumped up from her seat and made her way to him, putting her hand over his mouth before he could finish what he was saying, "Fun-loving person, whom we all admire and respect."
David immediately followed Pyrrha's example, dropping the comic book on the table in the process as he stopped next to Jaune and whispered into his ear, "Remember it's supposed to be a secret, buddy."
"Right." Jaune said as Pyrrha removed her hand from his mouth. Everyone looked nervously at Blake who looked annoyed that her secret is out. He looked between the members of team RWBY with a nervous look on his face, "Ladies, enjoy your battle."
"'Sup losers." Sun's voice echoed from behind Blake as David, Ruby, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Jaune and Pyrrha looked over to the source of it and saw him holding a peace sign. Neptune was standing right next to him.
Ruby smiled at him, "Hey, Sun!"
"There you two are." David shifted his gaze between them, "You two disappeared right after our food figt."
"Some had to wash their food off their clothes." Neptune explained, gesturing to himself.
"Come on, dude. I already said I'm sorry for not taking you into cover in time." Sun looked at his friend with an apologetic look on his face. He shifted his gaze back to David, Ruby, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Jaune and Pyrrha right after, "Ruby, Yang, David, Blake... Ice Queen."
"Why does everyone keep calling me that?" Weiss complained.
David looked at her questioningly, "Do you really need to ask? You gave a perfect example of why after our training today."
Weiss narrowed her eyes at him, "Quiet you!"
Sun gestured to Neptune as he finished what he was saying, paying no attention to the short exchange of words between David and Weiss, "I never got a chance to formally introduce you to my old friend."
Neptune looked around everyone around him awkwardly, "Uhh, aren't libraries for reading?"
Ren threw him arms up, "Thank you!"
Nora jolted up, having been awoken by his scream, "Pancakes!"
Sun looked at his friend with an unamused look on his face, "Shut up. Don't be a nerd."
"Hey." David crossed his arms, "I consider myself a nerd, you know?"
Sun raised his brow at him, "You do?"
"Yup." David nodded in confirmation, "And I'm proud of it."
Weiss sighed, "Too bad you're not a nerd for what's important."
David shifted his gaze to her, "Hey. Learning lores of various franchises you're interested in can be as compelling as studying for school, you know."
"Besides I prefer "Intellectual" than nerd okay? Thank you." Neptune told his friend and shifted his attention to David, Ruby, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Jaune and Pyrrha. He waved at them in a friendly manner, "I'm Neptune."
Weiss looked at Neptune with an interested look on her face, "So Neptune, where are you from?"
"Haven." Neptune replied as he approached Weiss, "And I don't believe I've caught your name, snow angel."
"Um, I'm Weiss." Weiss introduced herself to him.
"Are you kidding me!?" Jaune shouted in frustation, knowing Neptune had gotten further when it came to Weiss in one minute than he had in all of his time at Beacon.
David put his hand on his chin, letting out an interested hum as he observed Neptune and Weiss' interacation. The way how Weiss looked at Neptune is what got his interest, "Interesting."
Neptune nodded at Weiss, "Pleasure to meet you."
Sun stopped next to Blake as he looked at her and put his hands on the table, "I never took you as the board game playing type."
"Right, well, I think I'm done playing actually." Blake replied as she got up from her seat and shoved Sun aside before walking off in her own direction, "I'll see you guys later."
"Women." Nora shrugged as everyone else watched Blake walk away from them. David, Ruby, Weiss and Yang exchanged glances with each other shorty after Blake walked out of their view, knowing they would have a talk with her about her recent behaviour.
The door to the dorm of David and Team RWBY was swung open and David, Ruby, Yang and Weiss walked into their dorm. Weiss saw Blake sitting on her bed as soon as she entered it as Yang, David and Ruby didn't notice her right away as they were busy with their own thing. Yang had lost a game of risk with Neptune and David and Ruby made sure to tease her about her loss ever since they left the library.
Yang let out an annoyed sigh, "Ugh, we should have never let him play!"
Ruby pointed at her sister playfully, "You're just mad cuz' the new guy beat you!"
David smiled at Yang teasingly, "Wow. You really are a sore loser, Yang."
Yang glared at him, "Shut up."
"See?" Ruby asked as Blake got up from her bed and started to make her way towards the open door, intending to leave the dorm without exchange any words with anyone, "See, if you had just attacked when I told you none of this would have happened."
"Stop." Weiss pointed at Blake, making her teammate stop in her tracks before she could leave the dorm, "Lately you've been quiet, antisocial and moody!"
Yang raised her brow at her, "Uh, have you met Blake?"
David nodded in agreement, "You just gave a perfect description of her."
"Which, I get is kind of your thing, but you've been doing it more than usual, which quite frankly is unacceptable." Weiss pointed out, "You made a promise to me, to all of us, that you would let us know if something was wrong. SO, BLAKE BELLADONNA, WHAT IS WRONG!"
She pointed at Blake as she was done with what she wanted to say to her, balancing on a chair back feet to make herself look more dramatic. Ruby and Yang looked at her with awe written all over his face as David looked at her with a suprised look on his face, wondering how in the world Weiss managed to do it without falling over in the process. Ignoring the looks her teammates and her roommate had directed her way, Weiss got herself off the chair and put it back calmly.
Blake stayed silent for a few seconds, struggling to find the right word to express how she was felling, "I just, I don't understand how everyone can be so calm."
Ruby took a step towards her teammate with a concerned look on her face, "You're still thinking about Torchwick?"
"Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it!" Blake responded as Yang and David silently stared at her in worry, "Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!"
"Ozpin told us not to worry. Between the police and the Huntsmen, I'm sure they can handle it." Yang tried to reassure Blake she had nothing to worry about. Her attempts were in vain, though.
"Well I'm not! They don't know the White Fang like I do!" Blake replied as Weiss, David, Yang and Ruby exchanged glances with each other.
"Okay." Weiss looked between her everyone around her, "Between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, and fighting for freedom." She clasped her hands together with a smile on her face, "I'm sure the four of you think that you're all ready to go out and apprehend these ne'er-do-wells!"
Ruby raised her brow in confusion, "Uh, who?
"Torchwick and the White Fang, Ruby." David reminded her.
Ruby nodded at him, "Right."
Weiss pointed at Blake, "But let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students! We're not ready to handle this sort of situation!"
David rubbed the back of his head, "Technically I'm an adult. I turned 18 a while ago."
Weiss shifted his gaze to him and pointed at him, "It doesn't change the fact that you are a student. We're merely no ready for something like this."
"And we may never be ready! Our enemies aren't just going to sit around and wait for graduation day." Blake screamed as she pointed towards the door, "They're out there, somewhere, planning their next move, and none of us know what it is, but it's coming! Whether we're ready or not!"
A crazed look formed on Ruby's face as she started to do strange motions with her hands, "Okay, all in favor of becoming the youngest Huntresses to single-handedly taking down a corrupt organization conspiring against the Kingdom of Vale..." She crossed her arms, her expression becoming more normal as she smiled at everyone around her, "Say aye."
Yang pumped her fist enthusiastically and pointed at Blake, "Yes! I love it when you're feisty!"
"Well, I suppose it could be fun." Weiss stated, voicing her willingness to go along with this plan.
"No one said 'Aye', yet." Ruby muttered sadly to herself as she set her eyes on David. She looked at him with a pleading look on her face, making herself look like a pleading puppy.
David saw the way she was looking at him and wasted no time when it came to voicing what he thought about this, "Aye."
Ruby smiled at him gratefully, her pleading expression vanishing from her face in an instant, "Thank you!"
"Alright then." Blake smiled at her friends, appreciating they were willing to join her for this, "We're in this together!"
"Let's hatch a plan!" Ruby declared dramatically.
Yang nodded in agreement, doing finger guns with her hands, "Yeah!"
Ruby's eyes widened, having just realized she had forgotten about something, "I left my board game at the library!"
David facepalmed, "Really? I reminded you not to forget it!"
Weiss sighed, shaking her head, "We're doomed."
"I'll be right back!" Ruby shouted as she rushed out of the dorm. She didn't make it far as she bumped into someone in the hallway. She landed on the floor and looked up at the person she had just bumped into with an apologetic look on her face, "Sorry. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Just watch where you're going." A female voice David was familiar with souned through his ears. Wanting to know if he heard everything correctly, he walked out of his and team RWBY's dorm into the hallway and saw Emerald and Mercury standing in front of Ruby, with the former helping Ruby up. Wondering what was going on, Yang, Blake and Weiss followed him out of the dorm.
"Oh, hey." David said as Emerald and Mercury looked at him, "It's you guys."
"You know them?" Yang asked him as Weiss, Ruby and Blake looked at him in curiosity.
"I met them earlier when I was on my way to the library." David explained, earning nods of understanding from his roommates. He looked at the exchange students from Haven questioningly, "Have you been assigned your dorm?"
"Yes." Cinder nodded in confirmation as Emerald stepped aside, allowing her to walk into team RWBY and David's view, "We were actually on our way there."
Weiss raised her brow at her, "You don't know that exchange students have their own dormitory."
"Really?" Mercury asked, "I guess we just got turned around."
Ruby laughed, "Hey, don't worry, it happens all the time. Uh, your building is just east of here."
Cinder looked at her with a grateful look on her face, "Thanks."
"Where's your fourth teammate? Nyx, right?" David asked, having just noticed one member of Cinder's team was nowhere to be seen.
"She had something to take care. She'll join us in our dorm in several minutes." Cinder explained as David nodded in understanding.
Emerald looked between David, Ruby, Yang, Weiss and Blake, "Wait a second. Why is there five of you in the dorm right now? I thought you lived in fours in the dormitory here."
"You see, David is a special case. He lives in the dorm with us." Yang explained.
"Really?" Cinder looked at David with an interested look on her face, "Why?"
"I don't have a team. They didn't want to give me my own dorm so I was told I would live with them." David explained, "It's not so bad, though. Maybe expect for the first night where I didn't have a bed to sleep on."
"I see." Cinder nodded in understanding. She shifted her gaze away from him and his roommates to Mercury and Emerald, "We should get going. We should settle down in our dorm."
"Of course." Emerald replied as Mercury silently nodded at her. They wasted no time and pushed themselves into walk, walking past Ruby.
Cinder gave Ruby a quick look as she walked past her, "Maybe we'll see you around."
"Yeah, maybe!" Ruby nodded at her as Cinder walked past her and catched up to Emerald and Mercury. She turned around to look at them and waved at them in a friendly welcoming manner, "Oh, uh, and welcome to Beacon!"
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
