[Paldea Region: Coco Poco]
"So fire is weak against water, rock, and ground, while it is strong against grass, steel, and bug. Water is weak against grass, and electric, while it is strong against fire, rock, and ground. Grass is weak against fire, bug, flying, poison, and ice, but it is strong against water, rock, and ground."said Lincoln as he was reading through the part of the book that talked about Pokemon types, there advantages, and disadvantages.
"So there is grass, fire, water, normal, bug, flying, fighting, poison, psychic, ghost, dark, rock, ground, steel, ice, electric, dragon, and fairy...Wow, you would think that this is a lot to remember but it's pretty easy to understand once you get the gist of it."said Lincoln to himself as he continued reading.
Lincoln had just spent the last several hours reading the book about basic Pokemon knowledge thoroughly, over and over again to make sure that he didn't miss anything as he tried his best to learn everything he could about Pokemon and everything he would need to know when he finally entered Naranja Academy.
"Haaa..."said Larry as he appeared to have waking up from his long nap.
"Wow, you finally woke up after I slept several times throughout the day."said Lincoln, as although he got plenty of sleep himself every so often before reading his book again, Larry had been out the whole time.
"This is the closest thing I've had to a vacation in a while."said Larry with his usual boring voice.
"Wow..."said Lincoln as he felt bad for Larry as it was clear he was an overworked worker.
But his Pop Pop told him that Larry was one of the strongest Pokemon trainers in all of Paldea, so he definitely wanted to see him in action one day when he got the chance. But it's not like that they would happen as he doubts he'll ever see Larry again when they land.
"We'll be in Coco Poco in a few minutes."said the pilot, getting a thumbs up from Larry as Lincoln and him strapped into their seatbelt so that they could land properly and safely.
As soon as the pilots all Larry and Lincoln were safely strapped in did he begin to descend the plane. A few moments later the pilot spotted the air strip in Coco Poco and begin to do everything a pilot has to do in order to land a plane safely.
Lincoln meanwhile was doing some last minute hyphening of the book he was reading in order to remember everything he needed to know in order to get ready for his first day of class at Naranja Academy. He didn't want to make a good first impression with his new teachers and classmates as he really wanted to show everyone that he could keep up with everyone else despite the fact that they have been around Pokemon their whole lives.
"Okay, get ready for the landing."said the pilot as he began to land the plane on the airstrip.
Within a few minutes the plane successfully landed on the air strip and soon it's door opened to let Lincoln and Larry out of the cockpit.
"Master Lincoln, I see that my old friend Larry has managed to get you here to Paldea safely."said Mr Clavell, who was waiting at the air strip next to a Jeep.
"So this is Paldea... I must say I'm impressed as this place is so... clean as I'm breathing this air and this is the cleanest air I've ever breathed, and that is the freshest breeze I've ever felt."said Lincoln as he didn't feel any carbon gases anywhere near him.
"Well that is not surprising as here in Paldea, everyone mainly uses clean renewable energy as a way to sustain their houses and support their households."said Mr Clavell, revealing that Paldea was completely powered by renewable energy.
"Man, my sister Lisa would love to see this place."said Lincoln, as Paldea appear to be the perfect place for someone to support themselves with renewable energy, something that Lisa dabbled in.
"Well maybe on a later date. For now I need you to get into the Jeep with me Master Lincoln as I need to make a quick stop here in Coco Poco for a moment before I can take you to Naranja Academy."said Mr Clavell, causing Lincoln to quickly get into the passenger seat of the Jeep and strap himself in.
"I'm ready!"said Lincoln with a smile on his face as Mr Clavell turn to face Larry.
"I must thank you again for doing me such a favor Larry."said Mr Clavell, before shaking Larry's hand.
"Think nothing about it as it was the perfect excuse for a small vacation. I haven't gotten sleep like that in years."said Larry, before he picked up his leather briefcase and walked away.
"That guy is not about small talk, is he?"said Lincoln, as Larry appeared to be the over serious type.
"Larry it's quite a busy man and he has other duties to attend to today so it makes sense that he wants to get to them as soon as possible."said Mr Clavell, before he headed back to the Jeep and turned on the ignition.
"Now how was your ride to Paldea?"asked Mr Clavell, before he started the Jeep up and began to drive it down the road.
"It was amazing as I kept on reading this book that Larry handed me over and over again as it was just so fascinating! I learned so much about Pokemon including the very different types of Pokemon, along with many of the Pokemon moves that exist in the world including physical attack, special attack, and status."said Lincoln with a bright smile on his face.
"Well you're certainly someone so eager to learn about Pokemon."said Mr Clavell with a slight chuckle.
"Are you kidding? They are the most fascinating thing I've ever learned about and I want to know more! So much more!"said Lincoln with an excited attitude.
"You really do remind me of your grandfather Albert, Master Lincoln."said Mr Clavell, as he concerningly see a lot of Albert in Lincoln.
"Really? Thank you!"said Lincoln as he considered that a compliment.
"Now before we arrive I need to make a quick stop at a student's house in order to discuss something with her parents. But before that I need you to fill out this final paperwork for the Academy."said Mr Clavell, before he pointed to the glove box of the Jeep.
Lincoln quickly opened the glove box and saw that inside was a bunch of formal papers that required his signature so that's what he did with the pen that was also in the glove box. Lincoln did his best to write his signature as cleanly as possible as you could tell right away that Mr Clavell was someone about order as he probably did not want sloppy handwriting on his document papers. So to the best of eligibility Lincoln signed the papers before putting them back in the glove box.
"Thank you."said Mr Clavell, before he turned onto a nearby road.
"Now all students of Naranja Academy will be giving up Pokemon known as a starter Pokemon in order to start out their journey through the region of Paldea. So when we get to that particular student's house I want you to choose one of these three pokeball, or more specifically the pokémon inside as your starter Pokemon."said Mr Clavell, as he revealed that where the cup holder should be was some kind of cup holder holding three pokeballs.
"Cool! I can't wait to pick out my Pokemon partner as I'm sure him or her are going to have many adventures with me! And we're going to be the best of friends!"suddenlinking with a smile as Mr Clavell slowly started slowing down the Jeep before he calmly and slowly parked the Jeep next to what would look like a fancy mansion.
"Woah!"said Lincoln, as whoever lives in this house must be rich in his opinion as there's no way of poor person would ever be able to afford a house that nice.
"Now why don't you release the Pokemon inside and see what they think of you as it's important that the starter Pokemon chooses the trainer as the trainer chooses the starter Pokemon."said Mr Clavell, before he began making his way inside the house with a open gate.
"Okay, now how do I open these again. I think I just have to press the button in the middle."said Lincoln, before he began pressing every pokeball button in succession, causing the three pokeballs to open up and release the Pokemon that were inside!
The first pokémon look like some kind of green cat.
The second pokémon look like it was the combination of a apple and a crocodile.
And the third one was a white dock with what appeared to be a blue pompadour on its head.
"So cute!"said Lincoln has that's the first thing he thought of as soon as he was approached by each Pokemon.
"Hey little guys... one of you is going to be my starter Pokemon so I hope you and me can get along."said Lincoln, as he tried to remember what these Pokemon were called as he remembered that they were illustrated in the book he was reading.
"Let's see... the green cat is known as the grass cat Pokemon, Sprigatito."said Lincoln as he looked at the green cat.
"The apple croc is known as the fire croc Pokemon, Fuecoco."said Lincoln as he looked at the Apple like crocodile Pokemon.
"The duck with the pumpador is known as the duckling Pokemon, Quaxly."said Lincoln as he looked at the duckling Pokemon.
"Sprig!"exclaimed Sprigatito.
"Fue!"said Fuecoco.
"Quax!"said Quaxly.
"Okay, so who you wants to be my Starter Pokemon?"questions Lincoln... before he noticed that none of the Pokemon were where they were standing just a moment ago.
"Dang it!"said Lincoln as he looked around for the three Pokemon that had just gone rogue!
He kept looking around until he noticed that the MIA Pokemon were in fact in the garden of the house in front of him! Lincoln immediately ran into the garden to look for the Pokemon and he saw that they were in different places all around the garden.
Lincoln saw Quaxly in the artificial pond splashing itself with water, before stroking the water out from its pompadour in a comedic fashion.
Sprigatito meanwhile was living some flowers until it suddenly sneezed, causing some of the flower petals to fall off and fly with the wind.
Fuecoco on the other hand was going next to a nearby Apple tree trying to eat an apple that had fallen on the ground, but before he could the flowers that Sprigatito had blown earlier passed by its nose, causing the fire croc Pokemon to sneeze and burn the Apple.
That is when I hand touch the fire croc Pokemon. Lincoln saw a girl who look like she was just a bit older than him touching the Pokemon.
She had silky black hair tied in a ponytail with a some green strands popping out of her forehead. She was wearing a white short sleeve button-up shirt, an orange tie, orange shorts with stripes, black leggings, and for some reason she appeared to have some kind of arm brace around her left arm.
Lincoln was mesmerized by her for a moment before she spoke.
"Are these three your Pokemon?"questions the girl before she approached Lincoln.
"No, I'm afraid that Master Lincoln hasn't chosen one of these Pokemon yet."said Mr Clavell, who had just come out of the residence to see what was going on.
"Um, there's an explanation for this."said Lincoln, before Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly approached him, with Fuecoco still holding the burnt apple with the intention of eating it.
"I think I got the gist of the situation, Master Lincoln."said Mr Clavell, as Quaxly instructed Fuecoco to put down the apple as it was inedible, which the fire croc Pokemon reluctantly did, making everyone laugh.
"So you must be the new student I've been hearing about from the states. I'm Nemona, and it's nice to meet you."said Nemona as she identified herself.
"I'm Lincoln."said Lincoln, trying his best not to sound nervous as he found Nemona to be attractive.
"Miss Nemona here is actually the student council president of Naranja Academy. She will even be in your class."said Mr Clavell, causing Lincoln internally to say yes as he did a fist raise.
"Wow! Not only am I the first one to meet the kid from the United States, but he's also going to be in my class. This is just so exciting."said Nemona with excitement in her voice.
"So, how do you feel about having a Pokemon battle?"questions Nemona, catching Lincoln off guard.
The young man took a moment to compose himself before he answered."I need to have a Pokemon first."
"Oh yeah...sorry, I tend to be super excited about Pokemon battle so I tend to get carried away sometimes. So Lincoln, how about you and me be friends and rivals?"questions Nemona.
"Yeah, new friends are always a good thing."said Lincoln, as he was so glad that he was getting along with the girl he found to be really cute.
"Excelente!"said Nemona with a thumbs up.
"Now Master Lincoln, have you decided on which Pokemon will be your starter?"questions Mr Clavell, as Lincoln looked down at the Pokemon in front of him.
"Yeah... I think I have."said Lincoln as he walked towards the Pokemon he decided would be his starter Pokemon.
"Sprigatito, I choose you."said Lincoln as he chose the grass cat Pokemon as his starter Pokemon.
"Sprig!"said the grass cat Pokemon as he jumped into Lincoln's arms and rested on Lincoln's shoulder.
"Haha, that tickles."said Lincoln as the grass cat Pokemon licked his face.
"That is so awesome as I had a feeling you were going to choose Sprigatito, as I could immediately tell that you two had a connection."said Nemona, before she turned to face the director."Mr Clavell, do you mind if I take one of these Pokemon as well?"
"Miss Nemona, didn't you get a Pokemon when you first entered the academy?"questions Mr Clavell.
"No, at the time I was focused on raising some other Pokemon so I never really received one. Since Lincoln and me are going to be friends and rivals I figure I need a Pokemon more around his level if we are going to be proper rivals."said Nemona as she gave her reasons.
"Well that is an excellent idea it's proper rivals do help Pokemon trainers grow. So, who do you want to take with you?"questions Mr Clavell, as he wanted to know who Nemona would choose as her starter Pokemon.
"I already decided on this one when Lincoln choose Sprigatito... Quaxly, I choose you."said the student council president as she looked at the duckling Pokemon, who quickly accepted her as his trainer.
"Wow, that's amazing how much Quaxly trust you despite the fact you just first. But then again I could say the same thing about my Sprigatito."said Lincoln as he began stroking the grass cat Pokemon's chin, something the Pokemon in question seemed to enjoy.
"Now that you have a proper pokémon of your own, we have to battle! I'll be waiting for you at the battlefield on the beach so don't take too long."said Nemona, before she ran off towards the private beach in her residence.
This caught Lincoln and Mr Clavell off guard for a moment.
"As you can see, Miss Nemona is a bit over fond of pokémon battling. But a proper Pokemon battle is what will help you understand how Paldea works, so I suggest you go meet her on the beach."said Mr Clavell, as Lincoln looked at Sprigatito.
"You ready for a pokémon battle, partner?"questions Lincoln.
"Sprig!"replied the grass cat Pokemon.
"I'll take that as a yes!"said Lincoln before he began making his way to the beach to face the student council president of Naranja Academy in his first ever Pokemon battle!
[After finally arriving in Paldea, Lincoln has had off very interesting first day in the island off the coast of Spain by not only getting his starter Pokemon super early, but also by meeting the student council president of Naranja Academy, Nemona. Now Lincoln faces the farm or experienced Pokemon trainer in his first ever Pokemon battle! Will Lincoln have what it takes to beat Nemona? Only time will tell us the journey continues for the newest student of Naranja Academy]
