Garmadon was nervous.
Not only because this was the first time Lloyd would be visiting the medical wing of the volcano, but because the medical nerds (and some others) had a special exemption from wearing the costumes that made Lloyd more comfortable around people. Sanitation his butt, he wanted Lloyd to be comfortable during his checkup.
The worst part was, the engineer nerds needed him for a meeting, and Wu was busy, which meant Lloyd would be alone with the medical nerds. Sure, in the past couple weeks Lloyd had been doing really well, but that didn't mean the kid wasn't still jumpy and prone to climbing things he really shouldn't when he got spooked.
"Alright, Lloyd. Remember, just because the medical nerds aren't in costume doesn't mean they want to hurt you, okay?"
"Dad, I'll be fine, okay?" Lloyd gently patted his father's hand before signing 'I love you.'
Garmadon signed it back, slightly sloppier than Lloyd - Lloyd had taken to sign language like a fish to water, which was nice since he seemed to get quieter when upset, so he and Wu were learning too.
With one last hug, the two separated.
Throughout his entire meeting, Garmadon couldn't focus. The engineer nerds were rambling on and on about inventions they wanted to try and the meeting just wouldn't end.
After 2 hours, he was finally able to get out of the stupid meeting room and he ran to the medbay. Lloyd was curled up in a corner right outside, licking a lollipop while general 41 - the bright blue angler fish general - watched from a short distance.
Lloyd instantly brightened the second he saw his father, holding out his arms for the man to pick him up. Garmadon immediately obliged, scooping up the child and cradling him close, giving a nod to the blue angler general as he walked away.
He'd pick up Lloyd's new medical records later.
