Summary: Completely AU! In this story, you'll find a place where men can become pregnant through shapeshifting just like they can impregnate their female partner or male partner. The Shapeshifting in this story includes transforming into what you would have looked like as a man or woman and appears when you're a teenager. Since Danny fell for a female named Rachel who didn't want to have their next baby after having Grace, he is knocked up by her through shapeshifting. This story can be considered Mpreg. Chapter 7- Still a man

Danny was having a relatively good day. His relationship with his daughter had improved in the past month or so. Even though he was small in the stomach area for being 4 and a half months pregnant, his back and feet were killing him, but not even that could deter him from the good day he was having. That was at least until Steve called him into his office.

"Are you freaking kidding me? Paperwork duty. Paperwork duty. You're putting me on paperwork duty? I'm good at what I do. Please don't do this."

"You should have thought of that before you got in the family way," Steve responded gesturing to Danny's middle. "I can't have you working any of these cases when I'm the one that keeps getting you shot at according to you."

"Pregnant. I'm pregnant. You can say the word. I'm not crippled. Plenty of people work like this. What makes me any different?"

"DAMMIT DANNY!" he shouted, making his friend jump as he hit his fist against his desk. "I'm sorry. Don't put words in my mouth. You're my best friend, no you are my brother, and I can't have another life die that hasn't even been born yet in my hands. What I say goes. Accept it and move on!"

"I will not accept it and move on." Danny replied automatically, at this point his arms began to gesticulate wildly. "This is what I'm good at. I'll get antsy if you put me on paperwork. You might as well fire me if you don't want me on these cases."

"Fine! You're fired temporarily. Happy now?"

Instead of getting a response, he saw a badge being put on his desk. When he looked up from his computer, he saw his friend wiping away tears and looking at it in surprise. Now he felt bad, and he didn't know how to comfort anyone besides his sister.

"Oh, come on. Would you stop crying all the time? You're acting like a-"

"Fuck you! I am still a man," he responded gesturing to himself. "And second, I didn't know I was crying until my face felt wet and last but not least, I can't control these hormones. Before I was pregnant, I had complete control over my emotions."

"That's the problem. You're a liability in your current state. You can't watch my back. I don't want you watching my back-"

"Liability?" he asked sadly as he looked away from Steve biting his upper lip. "I see. You don't want me...to watch your back anymore?"

"See there you go interrupting, Danno. I didn't say 'anymore'. You're making assumptions like always. Why don't you go back to being a detective with HPD?"

As soon as the words escaped his mouth, he immediately regretted them. Danny flinched like he had been stabbed all while he opened and closed his mouth until he clicked his jaw shut. He turned around and walked out of the office into his own and began packing everything he could fit in a box in his office then began writing a resignation letter.

An hour later, Danny heard a knock on his office door. He ignored it until it became more persistent.

"Danno, open the door."

"GO AWAY STEVEN! Don't call me Danno. The only ones allowed to call me that are my daughter and best...best friend. Unless you're one of the two, you're not allowed. I feel like I don't have a friend anymore."

"Dann- Danny. I am still your friend. That's never going to change no matter what. I'm just looking out for you and the baby's wellbeing. Now open the door so I can apologize in person."

The door opened to a pink-faced Danny from crying even though he tried his hardest to stop. "You have five minutes."

"I don't want you to resign and go back to HPD. I'm sorry for mentioning it. I like working with you and wouldn't want it any other way. You can work some of the cases but I'm still putting you on paperwork duty for the near future."

Danny started to smile but hid it, not getting his hopes up just yet. "You really don't want me to leave?"

"I really don't want you to leave." he confirmed. "Will you stay?"

"Okay, I'll stay."

"That's a relief!" Steve said as he let go of a breath he didn't know he was holding. He hugged him before dropping a gentle hand on his friend's neck and squeezed a little trying to convey everything he couldn't put into words. "I'm really sorry."
