"Detective."
"You sound like you want to kiss me, Captain." The flirtatiousness in his tone easily matches hers.
She leans in so close her breath tickles his cheek as she whispers, "maybe because I do."
"What's stopping you?"
"You're a married man, detective." She laughs and points to his hand in his pocket, "still wearing the ring, I see."
He looks down, wondering how she knew. "I liked being married to you." He shrugs, "didn't want to take it off, yet. Ever."
She pulls her own hand from her pocket, the diamond ring glistening in the light, "me too. Ever."
