Kodachi's Week

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters. All of them belong to the awesome Rumiko Takahashi.

A/N: This is my first fanfic, so even I can see it has not come out any good. Any constructive criticisms and suggestions are welcome as I have not much experience of these things.

DAY 0, Sunday

The sun was just about setting even as a loud cackle emanated from the huge palace like house of the Kunos. Kodachi had just had a brilliant brainwave, one that only a diabolical mind like hers may have thought of.

" Hahaha, this time you are definitely mine, Ranma-kun" she thought " All of my brilliant schemes have failed due to interference from others like those wretched Tendos or that Chinese chick Shampoo. However, with my foolish brother away for a week I have all the time and means to accomplish my goal without any interference."

"Sasuke ! There is an urgent work that you must complete immediately and exactly as I say it. Do not disappoint me if you want to see the sun again tomorrow."

"Yes mistress! It s-shall b-be done!" muttered Sasuke, as the young mistress always scared him to no end.

Kodachi chuckled to herself "Starting tomorrow Ranma-kun will be all mine!"

Ranma was sitting in front of the TV in the Tendo household even as he was annoyed at Akane for pummeling him again in the evening for something he couldn't even recall now. He was starting to think that all this in the daily grind of things was really starting to wear down on him and while he did like Akane, he wished things wouldn't always turn out to be so violent and troublesome. It did not help that he was no nearer to finding a cure for the Jursenkyo curse and as such unable to face his mother. And to top it all off Happosai and Ryoga were upto their usual antics resulting that he hardly had any time to relax at all.

"Boy, I wish I could go on a vacation or something….. I feel like my head will explode if I don't cool off somewhere." Ranma thought wistfully.

As on cue, the doorbell rang and Kasumi opened the door to find a letter in the mail addressed to Ranma. The envelope had no mention of the sender.

Even as she looked outside, the road was completely deserted and there was no sign of the postman. Puzzled, she brought the letter back into the living room and called out "Ranma, there is a letter for you."

"Huh?" Ranma was puzzled, "Who on earth would send a mail to me?"

Ranma tore open the envelope and read the letter inside, even as slowly his face broke into a bright smile.

"Its an invitation from a Chinese martial arts association to come and visit the festival they are holding there!" exclaimed Ranma, "This is great! This place is not far from the Jursenkyo springs. Maybe I can finally find a cure to this curse!"

"Wow! That's great news Ranma!" smiled Kasumi.

"I guess they must have heard about my martial arts skills, seeing as they enclosed free round tickets for the trip. I will have a whole week to spend over there, not to mention the fact that the festival is for 3 days leaving me enough free time to go to Jursenkyo." a smug faced Ranma said with a smile.

"The only problem is that I will have to leave tomorrow early morning itself, so I had better get started on the packing. Kasumi, kindly tell the others that I will be gone for a week on a trip to China"

"No problem Ranma" said Kasumi, " Have a good trip!"
